Zaion always desired to become someone important and capable of protecting others. He used most of his time on training his ki, as his body was too weak to use it its full potential in normal fight. In  time free from physical training he studied different books he found in libraries found in his town, looking for various ways to improve his knowledge and control over his ki. After long years of training and studying he  found, something that cought his attention, within one books  he discovered encrypted message, with location of place he never knew or heard from any other books he read through his entire life, tower of Earth Guardian. At first he though of it as someones silly joke, but then he tried to understand what might be the cause of leaving such information hidden from everyones sight, for that he traveled towards place described in the book. Upon his discovery, he found  an philar and ladder leading up beyond the clouds,, after long thoughs and preparations he deided to give it a try and climb up the ladder, until after day of endless climbing and few breaks to catch his breath, he reached an odd platform with small house, abandoned as if no one was there for years. After  finding no one and no clues to his answer, Zaion decided to climb even higher, until reaching the top. Up there, within the building he found an old looking being, unvamiliar to anything that he ever seen or heard of, sitting on odd throne, looking down at him with its tired and restless sight, explaining the questions before he could even ask them, as if the being knew of his reason of arrival, congratulating the young boy for his efforts for entire hard work he did to reach the top of the tower. With that, the being offered Zaion to become his student and perhaps an successor if he as to prove himself worthy and clean hearted.

With such answer Zaion felt a spark of hope alighting within him as he understood that his dream had chance to come true, allowing him to become someone he always wanted to be. He agreed to the being proposal, known as Earth Guardian straight away. Except of Zaion, there was another person who appeared to have went through same troubles as him and as well as given same offer. With that, both were sent through rough training and studies, preparing both of them for all possible responsibilities as Earth Guardian, they were slowly introduced to each task that the guardian was to deal with through its entire life, also teaching them of what they would have to face, as one. After few years of training and studies within the tower, the time to pick successor has come.
