- (i apologize in advance, this was the best art I could find)
- Name: Helen Harolds II of Pythos
- Species: Human Cyborg
- Description: Helen is, in her words, "the bad end of five feet tall" (1.5 metres approx). Short and almost mousy, she has to rely on her loud voice to get herself noticed in a conversation. While she carries herself as a high-class girl should, she often shows a rebellious streak, unafraid to stand up and speak her mind if she feels the need to - this has gotten her into trouble before. The installation of a supercompter the size of a dime into her brain often causes her to lapse into technobabble pulled right from Galactipedia, as well as fits of stuttering or "processing" when nervous or otherwise stressed.
- Space Colony Phytos would be a nice place to live, were it not for one thing - the Walaji. Hideous, mutated sea life driven by a shadowy hive mind, it irregularly rises from the ocean in droves to unstoppably smash down the walls of the city and devour the populace within, with seemingly no clear motivation for this behaviour. Her family a victim of this oceanic nightmare, and her own body replaced by cybernetics after being mostly bitten off, Helen has finally had enough of living in fear. Defying the governmental curfew to sneak into space, Helen belives that somewhere in space lies the answer to the Walaji problem. She has only just arrived at the starting location of our adventure, a little unsure of what to make of it all.
- What they're good at:
- - Helen is highly knowledgeable when it comes to computers, and is extremely skilled at hacking. She can decode practically anything as long as she has access to an interface port.
- - Helen, as a noble, is well-trained in etiquette, and can speak two other languages as well as English. She could potentially learn more, but hasn't yet found the time to do so.
- - Having secretly modified two Stinger-class plasma pistols into her wrists, Helen is capable of defending herself from long-range if need be.
- What they suck at:
- - Helen possesses a short temper and a rebellious, anti-authority streak. She is quick to anger and will often lash out without thinking.
- - Helen is not built for close-up combat at all. Her frame is surprisingly weak, and she has no training in martial arts, as Walaji do not register fists upon their carapaces.
- - Helen's circuity is delicate - too many rough knocks can impair her abilities, and there is a real danger that a fatal malfunction could cause permenant brain damage or knock her into a coma.
- A single possession with a unique function: Mickey, the assistant A.I. programmed by her father as a birthday present, has been Helen's constant companion. He assists in hacking and scanning despite his better judgement, and also helps to maintain Helen's cyborg body whenever it malfunctions or becomes damaged. He often resorts to sarcastic, dry quips.
