  1. [20:25] Leaned back upon the wooden banister, he'd achieved the simple objective he'd came to Crafthold for. Now what was there to do? The bronzed-skinned Gehennan tilted his head as he stared forward. After a few minutes he'd been sure of it. The man in front of him was Vel Invidia, new Chieftain of the Atl.
  2.
  3. The Nagual's ears twitched as he pondered on that. A chieftain of gold, following a Siren without honor. How the chieftaincy had degenerated. With a few strikes across the grass the warrior would stop in front of Vel.
  4.
  5. "If I am unmistaken, you are Vel of the Invidia family. Chieftain of Atl through gold rather than blood?"
  6.
  7. As he spoke he'd rest a hand at his belt, the mithril prosthetic clinking upon his blade's pommel. Though, it appeared to be of habit more than any hostility.
  8. (Huatli Khan)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [20:31] Grey hues quickly shifted towards the Nagual.. It wasn't long before a small smirk grew across the Invidia's face.
  12.
  13. "That is correct.. I am Vel Invidia, Chieftain of Atl.
  14.
  15. True as it is that I purchased the lands with Gold.. Your people looked to be quite afraid to claim my spot with blood afterwards.. After all, you have witnessed the proof yourself. I am capable of effortlessly defeating the strongest that derives from those weak lands.. "
  16.
  17. A short-lived chuckle left the Kitsune as he waved his hand in a dismissive manner.
  18.
  19. "Quite pathetic.. I have bigger fish to worry about..
  20.
  21. Though, I wonder.. Why do you ask, hm? Have you come to try to claim the rank with blood?
  22.
  23. If so, then you must not have caught on to the warnings of your people, Chaaha. "
  24. (Vel Invidia)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [20:38] Hugh Hemlock says, "Just gonna..."
  28. [20:38] Hugh Hemlock says, "Squeeze past ya.."
  29. [20:40] Tilted his head, his own silvery gaze locked onto the Kitsune. Though the frown that had settled onto his face as he began the conversation never faltered. He listened patiently to what was to be said.
  30.
  31. "I have at times thought of the attempt. I'd believe one would be foolish not to, considering the state of Tecochitlan."
  32.
  33. As he spoke he'd bring a hand up to run across his scalp, letting out a long drawn out sigh inbetween sentences.
  34.
  35. "However, I cannot argue with you, many of Tecochitlan are cowardly. I do not know when it happened, but it happened long before you, your gold, or the vampire and demons who followed you into the fertile sprawl."
  36.
  37. He'd shift his gaze slightly to the other two present, though they weren't paid much heed.
  38.
  39. "I actually simply wished to know what plans you'd had for Atl land and whether those plans impacted the rest of Tecochitlan?"
  40. (Huatli Khan)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [20:42] Sian rests a hand on her hip, looking briefly at the Nagual warrior staring Vel down.
  44.
  45. Refraining from commenting, she simply turned her gaze to both Ipos and Vel. Seemed for now, there was just a discussion going on. Though knowing the state of things between the two groups, this could go south pretty quickly.
  46.
  47. Carrying no visible weapon, Sian seemed to just be nothing more than a civilian. Though this was quite the contrary, and those who looked deep enough into her tainted gaze would know an Occultist if they'd ever seen one.
  48. (Sian)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [20:43] Ipos Dalmeroth says, "papers please"
  52. [20:43] Neo Invidia says, "i need ma cane"
  53. [20:51] The presence of arcane magic briefly made itself noticeable just before words started to escape the Kitsune's mouth. Just from hearing the Gehennan's opinions on his own lands let alone Vel's plans with Atl.. The Invidia believed that this individual could be..
  54.
  55. Used in a beneficial way..
  56.
  57. "Chaaaha! My plans are to grant those who reside within the lands.. Under my ruling..several opportunities and great strength!
  58.
  59. As you said before.. Tecochitlan has been very cowardly and weak as of lately..
  60.
  61. If the chirping rumors are true, I even heard that they may be surrendering soon.."
  62.
  63. Vel was entertained by the conversation.. He felt that another plan of his may be crawling from deep within the darkness and coming into the light..
  64.
  65. Patience..
  66.
  67. "You seem like the type that care for those lands.. and as I said before.. I am a man of opportunities.. A savior to your type of people..
  68.
  69. You could restore that place to what it was once before. Simple, really..
  70.
  71. It just depends on.. If you are willing to undergo the process.."
  72. (Vel Invidia)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [21:02] Tilted his head as he listened, though his face never shifted from it's stoic frown. He knew when a leader of men was wanting to have him do something. That much was as the Gold Chieftain spoke.
  76.
  77. He'd bring a hand up to his chin, scratching it for a moment. As if pondering what to say. Though in reality he'd taken the moment to focus on those present. Occultists, vampires, and horned vampires? He'd shelve that mystery away for later.
  78.
  79. "You are correct in that I seek a renewal of my lands. Though, I will not mince words. I am displeased to see it come from a foreigner, let alone one who comes from a line drenched in vampirism."
  80.
  81. He spoke the words clearly, without hesitation and it was clear he meant them. His gaze actually drifted towards the right as he'd spoken.
  82.
  83. "Though, it is better than outright subjugation of the lands under one of the betrayers slaves. Which I take it you are not? What they call an Azrealite?"
  84.
  85. Hualti leaned a bit closer, his curiousity clear. He was still a Gehennan and had hopes for his homeland. Yet, almost as an afterthought he'd wave a hand wiping away something said before.
  86.
  87. "I've little desire for the past, the current chieftains tried to live in their parents footsteps. Look what it has done? No, I wished to speak of the future."
  88.
  89. Though it was an odd jump, the man rolled through it so smoothly. As if he was used to jumping around thought processes or heavens forbide, teaching.
  90. (Huatli Khan)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [21:12] "I am not an Azrealite nor a Vampire. I am just a Kitsune who wishes to see a bit of change around Agartha.
  94.
  95. -And yes, the future. That is what I am speaking for.
  96.
  97. I am a strategist.. I study cause and effect, I know exactly what happens when Individual A walks down Path B..
  98.
  99. In other words, I know the best option for your land..
  100.
  101. For the future generation who will be born within it to have promising futures. "
  102.
  103. The Invidia placed his hands behind his back before looking up into the air. He was thinking.. This Nagual spoke as if he would be beneficial in the future but-
  104.
  105. There was a feeling of doubt as well.
  106.
  107. Even so, these thoughts did not halt Vel's progress.. After all, people and plans were disposable and capable of being rebuilt.. He continued on.
  108.
  109. "You are correct. The other Chieftains are the problem.. They are the plague within your lands.
  110.
  111. Those foolish chieftains..
  112.
  113. If you grow capable of dealing with them then the lands will be restored to what you seek it to be.. Simple as that..
  114.
  115. Tell me, Warrior.. What is your name? "
  116. (Vel Invidia)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [21:18] Hatsu had trickled into the last bits of conversation, allowing for his gaze to drift among those gathered. He appears nonplussed as he takes note of a Gehennan interacting with Vel, studying the man with disinterest. He was not surprised that some of the Gehenna tribesmen and women had diverse opinions on the Chieftains in question, though he did contemplate as to why changes haven't been made. Perhaps the settlement had become complacent, but he still very much considered Gehennan folk to be enemies. They repelled the Vampiric forces out of the jungle, and their policy on the undead were set in stone.
  120.
  121. Even so, one such warrior was conversing with that very same enemy. And the topics discussed was potentially controversial. His arms cross along his chest, fingers lightly dancing along his forearm.
  122. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  123. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  124.
  125. [21:20] In a smooth motion the Nagual brought his fist to thump upon his breast. It was something that he'd done countless times before in a greeting and had yet to change that.
  126.
  127. "I am Huatli Khan of the Olmec, a subjugated tribe of the Atl."
  128.
  129. With that taken care of he'd relax once more, traditions mattered and so did traditional greetings when they where appropriate.
  130.
  131. "you've a look of eagles about you Kitsune, a feat considering the vast majority of your race's failings. I can agree with you the chiefs are flawed in and of themselves. Your claim over Atl being a prime example."
  132.
  133. After he's spoken he'd glance to the side, curious perhaps of there was something to be said from one of those nearby. Though he'd leave an ear he felt the need to finish his thoughts when they showed no signs of speaking.
  134.
  135. "It actually makes me curious, that purchase. Why? You've a host and a will, why did you decide to deal in gold with Khun?"
  136. (Huatli Khan)
  137. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  138.
  139. [21:30] Hatsu Wvelven says, "..."
  140. [21:30] Of course.. a small bit of the truth was bent, or maybe a large bit. Despite of such, Vel's intentions at the end of the day remained.
  141.
  142. "Why did I make the purchase you say? Chaaahaa! Y'see.. Coins mean nothing to me..
  143.
  144. I did it to reveal to people such as yourself how petty and weak-minded your Chieftains are.. The ones that says holds the most honor and pride are the same to fold and submit to coins.
  145.
  146. So the real question that you probably seek is.. Why did Khun go through the deal?"
  147.
  148. Vel couldn't help but shrug..
  149.
  150. "If I had to say so myself.. Me becoming Chieftain was probably the greatest thing to happen.."
  151.
  152. Then there it was.. That wicked smile of his started to grow across his face.
  153.
  154. "After all.. It is something that will obviously lead to the change you wish to seek, Huatli.
  155.
  156. -And if you would like.. I could offer you the keys to such a change. Chahaaa!"
  157. (Vel Invidia)
  158. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  159.
  160. [21:37] With a scowl easily settling across his features the man shook his head. It was exactly as Vel said in that regard, they'd all failed in the Nagual's eyes. Though he did not answer straight away. He took his time, he took Vel's time, and he thought.
  161.
  162. Pondering what it all meant, pondering the inevitable outcome. Even what place he'd settle into things. The Nagual's silvery gaze finally settled back onto Vel. The scowl was gone, replaced by what a look of curiosity to the warrior's face.
  163.
  164. "I will listen to your offer, I will show a chieftain that respect at-least. Though if the offer is to ask me to die in a zealous charge against my countrymen than I would ask that you not waste your breath. Out of respect, of course."
  165. (Huatli Khan)
  166. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  167.
  168. [21:38] Vel Invidia says, "Very well. We can talk somewhere less crowded.. If that is fine with you."
  169. [21:41] Huatli Khan asks, "I am amiacable to such a thing. Where would you wish to go?"
  170. [21:41] Vel Turns to Sian.
  171. (Vel Invidia)
  172. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  173.
  174. [21:41] Vel Invidia asks, "May I borrow your lovely home for such business?"
  175. [21:41] Est exclaims, "Oh! Ulyssa! Hello!"
  176. [21:42] Ulyssa asks, "You seem a lot more. . . Chipper! Hey'ya Est, how'ya doin'?"
  177. [21:43] Est says, "I have... received the care I needed, in short. Here, I won these in a carnival game for you."
  178. [21:43] Sian says, "Lead the way, my home is your home."
  179. [21:48] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  180. [21:53] Upon entering the Manor, Vel immediately moved himself towards the table and seats, hoping that the Nagual followed right behind.
  181.
  182. "A zealous charge would be foolish..
  183.
  184. What I offer is this.. You are probably already a respected figure of Atl.. For the sake of rank and even more authority, I offer you the position of Warchief.
  185.
  186. Warchief of Atl.
  187.
  188. With that, you gather and strengthen your forces more than what it already is.."
  189.
  190. A glance was shot towards Sian who sat just a bit of distance away.. Nothing but a smile was formed before his eyes fell back to the Nagual. Fingers rhythmically tapped onto the table before he continued to speak..
  191.
  192. "Honestly.. There won't have to be any death amongst your people to fix it..
  193.
  194. After enforcing Atl with strength.. Then you can continue to personally challenge the Chieftains for their rule or possibly make them surrender or even talk them towards the right path..
  195.
  196. Hm..
  197.
  198. Time is of the essence though.. The rumors I've been hearing has not been pleasant at all.. Had something to do with Huangzhou.. and that is never a good thing."
  199. (Vel Invidia)
  200. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  201.
  202. [21:59] Leaned forward as he listened, he had a soft smile upon his features. It was all he'd wanted at a time, to be War-Chief. Yet, it wasn't something he could claim anymore. After Vel had spoken Huatli merely sighed.
  203.
  204. "I am sorry, but you seem to be mistaken for what I am. Yes, I'm a warmonger. Yes, I've fought my chieftains before, and lost. Yes, I was well respected at one point, those are no longer the case.
  205.
  206. With a simply shrug of his shoulders the Nagual would continue. As if he'd no shame in his own choices or where he stood in life. It was something that he held with pride.
  207.
  208. "I am more of a scholar in this day and age. Could I win over some Gehennans? Perhaps. Some might know me for my unbending desire to see the Azrealites expunged and thing there is something to your chieftancy. Yet, many others would only see a traiter of theirpeople begging for the scraps from your dinner table."
  209. (Huatli Khan)
  210. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  211.
  212. [22:07] "If you are a scholar, then it is simple.. Find a warrior that is willing to change the lands and I'll give him the status of Warchief..
  213.
  214. If that is the case, I would expect you to be an advisor of some sort.. Yes, it would be easier that way.
  215.
  216. Unless.. You have another plan in mind, Huatli? Tell me what you are thinking."
  217.
  218. The tapping against the table would start to grow more rapid as the conversation deepens. Since Vel has been speaking with the Nagual, he has yet grasp on to what he wanted from the Chieftain himself exactly..
  219.
  220. Perhaps it would be the same that most Gehennans want, which was Vel to step down.
  221.
  222. That would be impossible unless the Invidia's death was involved.
  223.
  224. "My ears are open to all ideas, chaaha. "
  225. (Vel Invidia)
  226. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  227.
  228. [22:17] Tapped a single claw upon the table as he pondered that question. Was there a Gehennan who could stand as warchief? No, the closest was Chotion and he wasn't willing to look at things beyond the first dimension.
  229.
  230. "Unfortunately there are very few Gehennans who've either the strength or brains to do what you wish. Perhaps Chotion of the Luxata clan but he would not be amiable to such talk."
  231.
  232. As he spoke he'd tilt his head, looking at Vel. After a few moment's he'd continue.
  233.
  234. "If I were a better warrior, I think I would serve as warmaster. I would do it easily for the simple fact that I believe what Tecochitlan was, it will never be again."
  235.
  236. As he spoke he'd roll into a proposition to the Chieftain perhaps one that could aid them or at the least aid the people of the city he was now growing closer to ruling.
  237.
  238. "You've not a lot of time to secure the fertile sprawl, Huangzhou will be in Tecochitlan in force soon enough. I know, I am an auxillary of their Fourfold. I believe that what you need is something to bring the average tribesman or woman into your sway. Many in Tecochitlan obey the chieftains out of religious fervor or simple fear. Offer them something they can believe in, something with honor not tainted with coin, and I believe many would flock to your banner."
  239.
  240. Leaning forward he'd speak once more, curious of what the man thought.
  241.
  242. "Offer them independence from Huangzhou and Dawn. You are not Neo, you've no subservience to the Valmasians. Call out to the Chaos Magi and Demons who will be forced to leave Tecochitlan once the Huangzhou forces arrive. See who answers, that would be my advice."
  243. (Huatli Khan)
  244. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  245.
  246. [22:27] "Huangzhou will be destroyed in due time.. That is inevitable..
  247.
  248. Very well.. I suppose I'll contribute a bit more towards this cause.. I could easily go to Gehenna and defeat every ruling Chieftain over in those lands..
  249.
  250. But where is the fun in that..? Chaaaha!
  251.
  252. There isn't much time.. The rumors were true about Huangzhou.. In that case, Huatli.. I have two simple things for you to do.."
  253.
  254. The unwavering smile on the Chieftain's face never failed to fade away.. Even after hearing about the news of Huangzhou. Maybe.. Maybe this would make things more easier though.
  255.
  256. "One.. This Chotion.. I wish to speak with that one.. If I'm not wrong, I believe I heard that name before, mm.
  257.
  258. Yes.. I need to talk to that one.. Bring them to Crafthold one day.
  259.
  260. -And while I do that, I still need you to find a suitable, young warrior who could claim the title of Warchief.
  261.
  262. Warchief of Atl.
  263.
  264. These are very simple task that will lead your lands to what they need to be. Are you capable?"
  265. (Vel Invidia)
  266. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  267.
  268. [22:28] Simply stood from his seat, offering a nod to Vel as he did so. He'd do what he could though it was very likely a death sentence. Perhaps it could lead to something better for Tecochitlan than simply a plague land or one of Huangzhou's puppets?
  269.
  270. "I will seek out Chotion, if he is amiable to a meeting it will be arranged. If he is not than you will not hear from me again, when last we spoke it was with steel not words."
  271. (Huatli Khan)
  272. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  273.
  274. [22:34] "Chaaaha. Try not to die.
  275.
  276. -You are a significant figure within these plans.."
  277.
  278. Just as Huatli stood, Vel stood as well. The meeting was as good as over.. An objective was set, a goal was expected.
  279.
  280. There was nothing else to speak about honestly.
  281.
  282. "Seems that this Chotion will be a reasonable one, Chaahaa.. I hope they care about their lands just as much as you..
  283.
  284. Or maybe they seek to become a puppet of Huangzhou.."
  285.
  286. A shrug was given before the Chieftain walked towards the front door, prepared to see the Gehennan out.
  287. (Vel Invidia)
  288. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  289.
  290. [22:34] Vel Invidia says, "Farewell."
  291. [22:34] Huatli Khan says, "Spirits protect."
