  1. Chapter 7. Rage against the pseudo-heavens .
  2. "He who rages against the heavens above is not in this chapter. He or she belong to a certain trope. The guys who go against a certain evil Dr. do belong here though. Who knows why? I don't. Wait. I'm messing with you. I do. I do know such things like reasons or motivations, because I am writing this thing. I might not know of small details, which haven't been fleshed out properly, but that is something entirely else. This is something I know. Wow... Saying all of this as an intro. Whew. Who would have thought? I would, of course.. Okay, I am starting over. I better stop"

  4. Lone looked down, from where he was standing, the top of the rebel building as the army had gathered down there. From the floor below came, through the stairs a few men. They had baggy clothing similar to Ild's, and had several metallic plates on their bodies. Each carried a cross like thing on their left forearm , and in the other a longer blade attached. The Kinetic Fighters, were the new breed. Basically, they could go on mook killing sprees on their own, and three could even finish off a low ranking Asuran. The rebels had been working to produce more Kinetic Devices , and add it to their arsenal. Of course it wasn't the time nor the place for this kind of act. It was now the time to strike at the enemy who had been weakened. Little did Lone know, the badass heroes were barely doing any good against the likes of the powerful Asurans, and that only one of them using their Asuran Arms would be enough to end the rebellion. Why has that not happened yet? Well let's see. Some author somewhere out there thought it would be cool to have a rebellion. And because of plot convenience. If you want to show how the protagonists end the villains despite being cornered, then how can you not make it implied that the villains can end the protagonists at any time. Luckily said villains aren't enough Genre Savvy. No. Dr.Sonnemuz is. He had been firing his massive Awesome sphere twice. But the first was for testing. And the second got absorbed. Plot conveniency strikes again. Shame on me. Shame on me. Yeah, let's get on with it. Things cannot be otherwise. Actually.. They can. If I was better as a writer, I could make it sound much more convincing. And again, I have stolen the spotlight by making several monologues. Lone jumped down the roof as he landed, much debris was sent flying towards the crowd obscuring their vision. And then, the Kinetic warriors sled through the hemispherical- somewhat-conical body and stood behind Lone. Giving a mighty war cry , the rebels marched on, towards the walls. As they proceeded to lead several blasts of awesomeness , and rockets, and attempting to blast of the walls. It failed. Lone attempted to try and use his powers, but the plates were immune, and then... He had no choice. Picking up his phone he called a certain friend, running away he tells the soldiers to wait as he goes. After some walking, going straight in his way, turning to the left and in his way to the city center, through the shortest path he had, as he proceeded to make a warning. He... Requested a date. For the one who would meet him last the wall. And so he ran as the fangirls followed. The thousands of raging fangirls, head for the wall, chasing Lone who managed to make his jump past the wall. So tired he had been by the extremely quick run , and so much did he dislike the fangirls he dared to give a smile , a mocking smile to all the fangirls, mixed with the rebels, who were frankly shocked at the sudden outbreak, and.. The girls thought it as a token of love. As a bunch of deadly insects they climbed one after another, and Lone ran inside. The fangirls poured in. The Upper city was attacked, by the greatest plague of all. Lone made his way inside, and the rebels. They were smart enough as to climb the way the fangirls did, and even use the fangirls to climb. So, as the rebels poured in, they started wreaking havoc. They unleashed the guns and heavy armaments on the buildings and offices. The Kinetic warriors went on their mook slaughter , followed by more of the rebels, ending quite a few. In two hours, the army of goons was caught by surprise and suffered great loss. Until it began.

  6. Something started lifting, from beneath the ground , a bit distanced from the plate walls. It seemed like another plate cover, moving upwards, as it had grown in the time the rebels were mook slaughtering , and rose a few meters well beyond the walls. As the rebels made the run for their lives, trying to escape, climbing the walls, but... At the end, the walls were too high and only Lone, the Kinetic Warriors and a handful of rebels had managed to be safe. And right there, a strange occurrence would.. I guess occur? Yeah. Like that wasn't Obvious. There seemed to be a massive plate, no.. More were coming, many flying vessels coming from nowhere and carrying massive plates , and as they were positioned , the plates were launched. From the same spot, a few Asurans came down, as they managed to somewhat attract the plates, using perhaps some magnetized device? At the end, the plated were fit in the city, as suddenly, from beneath the ground energy surged, going through the gaps between the plates, as soon the energy produced enough heat to melt it, and then the one piece metal hemisphere, was now full of energy. And then the energy would have been transmitted inside, producing enough heat. The buildings were safe, but... Something was happening, the rebels found themselves coated in awesomeness while it begun being drained, and as it was the pull of the awesomeness caused them to be, fried inside out. Eventually the awesomeness being forcefully projected and forced out of them produced enough localized heat as to easily evaporate their bodies. And then, it would begin. Again. For the second time apparently. Honestly, this got old. The sphere would lift. From beneath the ground , it seemed the sphere went up, levitated as the large body lifted itself from the ground leaving one hemispherical crater in the ground. The energy of awesomeness was charging it for a short levitation before... A straight beam of awesomeness from the sky, from somewhere up there would hit it. Then of course the sphere was pulled towards its direction. Lone and the Kinetic Warriors were left in shock as the city fled. Now there was no more upper city, there was just something up there.
  7.
  8. Ild and Sonne saw it. They saw the event unfold as they ran for it, and so did Wynd, the trio met up in the center of the event, with Lone. Luna and Toast were also coming. As they had gathered, they saw the sphere move up , until the beam stopped hitting it while the sphere changed, several protrusions emerging from its sides, as wing like structures formed, and the sphere moved, flapping the four wings , towards the direction of the beam. There was no time. Wynd too, out his sword and spun it, sending Luna, Toast, Sonne and Ild flying upwards. With the wind pushing them and eventually using their powers of awesomeness, blade beams and awesomeness flames to propel further they managed to eventually catch up with the sphere. Ild struck the area of the wing with his sword, as Sonne and Luna grabbed on to his body . Toast managed to appear somehow standing on top of the wings, as they proceeded to slide down towards the sphere. There, Ild tried to slash open a path, but to no good ends. So did Sonne, and Toast, and Luna. Until... Eventually they had to come up with an idea. Ild and Luna went off to the side as Toast and Sonne sled back. There, they prepared for something, both charging their awesomeness in their palms for a moment, the duo would have then made a move, letting their palms open and forward as two beams of awesomeness went on. At first the beams took a parallel direction to each-other before starting to move and twirl against one another, forming a more double helix like beam which stroke the plated surface. It was a good effort and the plate was damaged, but there wasn't a hole yet. Luna and Ild tried their own strategy. As Luna charged her fiery vortex attack, Ild tried his own classical slash movement. And there they were unleashed. The hyper combat energy mixing with the flames created a purple vortex which damaged the damaged section further and allowed the creation of a hole, big enough to fit them in. As they went through , the gap slowly fixed itself, not to their attention. Exploring the once explored city, they found it empty before.. The heavy steps were heard. A bunch of Asuran guards, about 10 , followed by at least fifty iron armored mooks, the Iron Guards of the Gate, 17 of which Luna defeated. Eventually they were facing each-other. The group prepared the same attacks as before, one duo with the double spiral, the other with the vortex, it did work on taking on about 10-15 of the Iron Guards, but then the Asurans got mad, and proceeded to rush into battle. The group found themselves pummeled to the ground before they could run away. And so they did. After one or two good hours of chase, they had managed to be free of trouble for a while. Gathering around what used to be an apartment, as it seemed there wasn't much but clothes left , the people having.. Disappeared, they made themselves comfortable.
  9. "How did those Asurans even get here in the first place?"-Luna said, worried.
  10. "The beam. It must have been used as a Quick Conversion Movement Mechanism. "-Toast explained to the worried girl.
  11. "A what?"-Ild asked, slightly confused, but not that it was his more pressing matter.
  12. "The Quick Conversion Movement Mechanism. Basically, using the beam of awesomeness that got this sphere up here, as a teleportation medium. Converting the body to awesomeness, moving it through a designated path, and then converting it to normal matter at the end of the path." -Toast proceeded into the more detailed explantation.
  13. "And why exactly is there something like that?"-Ild asked again.
  14. "It was meant for something else"-Sonne responded, interrupting Toast before he could even talk.
  15. "What?"-asked Luna.
  16. "To convert another source of power. The same source they are acquiring awesomeness from. Whatever is going on up there, it is ought to be big, with all this need for energy reserves"-Toast finally finished.
  17. "So, what happened to the people around here?"-Luna asked, clearly worried.
  18. "My theory is.. They were evaporated. By the drain of their awesomeness"-Toast said, as Sonne nodded. Ild made a very slight movement of his head, surprised, but yet it wasn't for long as he returned to silence.
  19. "What!?"-Luna proclaimed , not only worried , but this once there was a clear note of shock in her tone.
  20. "Unlike me, you or Sonne, who are masters of Awesome Fu, normal people cannot use Awesomeness, even if they posses it. Making it forcefully materialize in a single moment and draining it, requires a lot of power, and it will give you about twice as much power. But the source of the awesomeness, in this case these people, finds itself assaulted by such a massive amount of localized heat that it evaporates. "-Toast finished. Luna was clearly shocked and angered by this, willing to stand up, to do something, but she... She was stopped by Ild who rose his sheathed sword and blocked her path with it.
  21. "Until we find out what the Asurans are doing here, we will not be separated"-he said, followed by Sonne and Toast agreeing, and Luna bumping back into her seat with an "Ufff"
