hello! you got to the end. i compiled this list to make a point of the boring similarity of this era, and also the mindset of the people who made this kind of music. I used to love it, and to some extent still do (Joe Shlabotnik) but the fact is the kind of sentiment expressed in nearly all of these releases is wack as hell, slightly manipulative, and centre around thought patterns that sink teen boys/twentysomethings into a deeper hole and cause them to treat people like shit. self-flagellation and deprecation happen to everybody to an extent, and almost certain for people with mental illnesses, that was never the problem; the fact is what it evolved into with 2000s midwest emo caused internalisation of so many shit mental cycles for the listeners and people in the 'scene'. i think this is shown with the exorbitant amount of shitty people exiled from similar scenes/bands in the last 6 years.

you will not commit suicide at the peak of desperate love. you will not forget everything that ever happened ever. your skinny wrists, tiny hands, layers of skin don't justify thinking like any of this and you'll place yourself in the middle of a self-fulfilling prophecy the longer you romanticize cutting off your arms. It's just gonna take more time for you to realise it's time to stop wallowing.
And don't blame me for putting up the mirror if this reflects you.

hola! llegaste al final. hice esta lista para demostrar un punto de la similaridad aburrida de esta era, y también la mentalidad de la gente que hizo este tipo de música. solía amarla, y de alguna forma lo sigo haciendo, pero el problema es que el sentimiento expresado en casi todos estos lanzamientos es pésimo, manipulativo y se centra en patrones de pensamiento que hunden a adolescentes/veinteañeros en un pozo profundo que los lleva a tratar horriblemente a la gente. la autoflagelación y el odio a unx mismo son cosas que a todxs le ocurren, y son casi certeras para gente con enfermedades mentales, ese nunca fue el problema; el tema es que evolucionó con el midwestemo 2000lero y se internalizaron muchos de estos ciclos mentales para lxs oyentes y gente en la "escena". creo que esto se demuestra con la cantidad absurda de gente exiliada de escenas/bandas similares en los últimos 6 años.
no te vas a suicidar en el pico de un amor deseperado. no te vas a olvidar de todo lo que pasó en tu vida. tus muñecas flacas, tus manos chiquitas y las capas de piel no justifican pensar así; y solo te vas a plantar en el medio de una profecía autocumplida mientras mas tiempo romantices el cortarte los brazos. solo te va a tomar mas tiempo darte cuenta que tenés que parar de revolcarte.
y no me culpes si esto te hizo verte en el espejo.
