- (Sorin only, please. This takes place after "Far From Our Worlds", on page 4 of the Scrapbook thread. It takes place in the Generation II/IV era of the Pokémonverse, aside from the initial few posts, and encompasses the fall of Team Galactic to give some added closure to a painful facet of one character's life.)
- On Board the Gummi Ship Hrímfaxi, Near the Orbit of the Pokémonverse
- It had been a good few days.
- Granted, he had still had the nightmares again in the Hundred Acre Wood after their talk, despite having her arms around him, but she was there to comfort him, to let him know it was okay, to soothe his worries at least for a time. Not enough to stop the nightmares, but enough to calm them, if slightly.
- His passenger's ship was being carried with them by a close, strong tether, so she didn't lose it, but so they could talk without needing to use the ship communications to do it. The closeness was comforting.
- Naito Hane Zivaku had his ship on autopilot, mostly to tell him about incoming hostiles for him to take command, not to do any fancy flying, as K1-R4 probably could. Still, he didn't ask for much.
- The time traveler was just talking to Jasmine as they sat in two seats in the cockpit of his own ship, about fairly innocuous things. Favorite foods, favorite worlds, hobbies. Sure, he blushed at times, but it wasn't too bad. He just wanted her to know he cared. If he did love her (and he was fairly certain he did, though too scared to say as much due to the time travel problems and the issues of mortality) he wanted to know any way he could to make her happy.
- Finally, Naito though of something he could do. "Um... want some water or something else to drink or eat? I might have some bread and honey if you want some now."
- There was a beep at the control console, on the comm button.
- Naito was alert, and went to get it, not wanting Jasmine to do too much work. She was a guest, after all. He pressed it. "Gummi Ship Hrímfaxi. Who is this?"
- The voice came out over the speakers of the ship, the voice seemingly genderless through a filter. "My name is not important. I represent Team Plasma of the Unova Region of the planet you near." As Naito looked to the world out there, he heard the rest before he could speak. "We seek the liberation of all Pokémon from their human oppressors, those who would treat them as pets to fight for their amusement. But that, in itself, is not why I am here. I come with information about an organization in Sinnoh, based in Veilstone City. One that is the reason why we established this extra-planetary communication device, through its reckless experimentation."
- "Um... what is it, sir or ma'am?" Naito asked, not sure how to address this person, but looking to Jasmine, wondering if she could help him. Some of the names listed sounded familiar from their talk, but nothing but names of places. Maybe her world was right here? A place to visit, perhaps? And was this experimentation related to the Butterfreemorph?
- "We have found a way, and the means, to infiltrate Team Galactic's headquarters. Your mission, if you would accept our aid, is to destroy them."
- ====
- Jasmine was having a good time. Even if they were just talking about small things, it was fun. Especially when she was able to make Naito blush. Not that it was very hard to do. But of course all that was interrupted by that transmission. Jasmine quickly checked out what world they were close to and her eyes widened. How did she not realize that they were so close to her home.
- The Butterfreemorph frowned as she listened. She had never heard of this Team Plasma, but any group from her world with Team in their name was bad news. But as soon as they mentioned Team Galactic Jazz jumped to her feet.
- "What do you know about Team Galactic?" Jasmine demanded. She had not heard of the group since she had stopped their Pokemorph research again. But if this Team Plasma could let her destroy them once and for all, Jasmine would take the chance.
- ====
- Naito did not know what there was in this group, to be fair. He assumed it probably related to Jasmine's existence, but let the voice speak further.
- "We have established a lock on your signal. Land near Veilstone City, and our helicopters will escort you." As it so happened, a save point was open at the outskirts of each city, allowing this transfer.
- Naito was more insistent this time. "She asked a question."
- A pause, then a response. "We know dark Pokémon and human hybrids with some shadow creature with yellow eyes have been the most recent goal. We know that Commander Saturn and Boss Cyrus are trying to plan their escape to further research. We know that unless you have a way through the top of the headquarters, they will escape. We know that they have their personal Pokémon pets with them. We know how to infiltrate the tower and hunt down the remaining commanders ourselves."
- Okay, fair point, and horrifying ones to boot. "What will you get from it, sir or ma'am?"
- "One step closer to total Pokémon liberation. We are in agreement?"
- Naito looked to the Butterfreemorph. "I'll let you land it if you want. They're possibly right about the time limit."
- (You can land them. I'll put them in the chopper next post if so.)
- ====
- Jasmine shook as she listened. They still didn't give up the Pokemorph research even after she had destroyed it again and now they were trying to combine it with Heartless. That project had created enough pain and Jasmine didn't want it to continue any longer. Even beyond that, Jasmine wanted to protet her world. She had heard whispers about Team Galactics true goal. To destroy the world and Cyrus recreating it the way he wanted. If they could stop him, Jasmine would do it.
- "I'm going Naito." Jasmine said as she got up. She paused as she turned to look at the time traveler. "You don't have to come Naito. This is something that just involves me. Even if I don't trust these Team Plasma guys."
- ====
- Naito shook his head, going to the controls and flying the ship down toward the right save point as specified by names on the map, stopping and going to the transfer point to go down. "No, I'm not leaving you. If it involves you, it involves me. I'm not going to make you go through something like this alone if I can help it."
- He hugged her there. "I... I care about you, you know?"
- "If you move quickly, you may be able to catch them before they gather their items."
- Naito nodded, and activated the point. There was a flash...
- ===
- Ten minutes later, on a helicopter above Veilstone City, in the gunner position on the port side..
- Naito looked out at the large building known as Team Galactic HQ. Normally, the entrance was available by the door only, with any progress upward blocked due to not having the right keycards. However, there were...issues.
- The second and third to top floor being on fire typically is an issue, yes. Especially with the hole in it. Not exactly typical atmosphere.
- The same genderless voice came through the loudspeaker in the helicopter. "Go in there. The dark creatures seem to be out of that area, moving down by the looks of things." So calm, so nonchalant. Perhaps someone else was flying?
- Naito didn't even bother to ask. He looked to Jasmine, squeezing her hand briefly. "I'm not leaving you." He reached into an etherspace pouch, taking out his white, hooded cloak that he usually used to hide from the cold or to remain private. "I know you need this more than I do. Please use it, Jasmine." He hand it it to her, hoping it would protect her from the fire and the flames that they would need to go through.
- With that, he dove out of the side, silver wings spreading. This was a time to shine, it seemed. He covered his head with his hands, crashing through and breaking some of the remaining glass, and rolling to a halt. He stopped, seeing two Shadow Heartless, nothing else in the area, and raised his flashlight.
- With a scream, both of them tried to escape the damaging light, to run away... but a Moon Slash took one out, a stab through the head as he flew toward it taking out the other.
- Crates surrounded them, some on fire, some open. Items were in them, in a variety. Quick Claws, which would make it easier for the user to attack first in battle, keeping the other from getting initiative. The flavorful Oran Berries, which would restore a small amount of health, the game equivalent of "ten hit points". The larger, smoother tasting Sitrus Berries, which would increase health by a quarter of its full capacity.
- A man. "Quick, we have to get the supplies for the Commander and the Boss!"
- A woman. "We can't, there's no time! Run!"
- Some blue-haired, white-gray-and-black suited grunts ran out, down the stairs, but an explosion sounded, screams signifying their deaths. There was only one way. Up.
- Looked like this was going to be a hell of a ride.
- (You can get random gear here, random items. Feel free to pick anything. The roof won't cave in until they go to the next floor.)
- ====
- Jasmine had followed Naito right into the building. Really she didn't want to enter here mostly because of the fire, but that was mostly due to her Bug part of her. Being weak to fire makes one weary of being around it, especially in this kind of situation. But there didn't seem to be much around at the moment which would let Jazz take a look at what was in the crates.
- If they didn't have more important things to do, Jasmine would have taken the time to take some berries. But she grabbed a few, just in case they needed it. "We should keep going Naito." She said as she put the various berries away.
- ====
- The time traveler nodded, and flew out to the stairs, and up them. There, he could see someone amongst the flames.
- White shoes, gray pants with many black, horizontal stripes up the legs, a white shirt with a few more black lines up about a quarter of the way. The shirt had a white vest of sorts over it, with the rest of it being the same gray, including its long sleeves. His eyes were blue, the hair also the same color, curved up like two devil's horns. Given what he said on seeing them arrive, that was more or less accurate.
- Commander Saturn looked to the two arriving, and did recognize Jasmine. Whether from his experiments or from the footage from the recent Interference projects from the runaway scientist was unknown, but he did recognize his own work.
- "Designation 14563?!" he shouted over the flames. Then came a grin of sorts, though it did seem forced. "It has a trainer now! Call me Commander Saturn!"
- The comment, though only partly understood by the time traveler, made him scowl. "She's not some thing, she's Jasmine! Stay here and fight us!"
- Instead, Saturn sprinted back to the next door, past several cages, stopping by two panels. With each one he spoke, raising a hand to begin. "If it weren't for those kids, we'd have Dialga -- " The hand slammed down, typing a few buttons, the cages starting to open with four simultaneous hisses. "-- and Palkia with the Red Chain!" Another type on that word, and a mechanical door opened to the right and left before him, albeit a little slowly. "Faster!" he screamed at it. Still, he then took a breath, calming slightly before speaking to them again in that loud voice over the flames and explosions below, the ones rising in frequency. "Arceus to destroy the world, to remake it! Perfect, improved beyond compare to this one! Stay here with your pet, boy! It's going to need a lot more help than just a few berries it might have!"
- A scream of rage as Naito flew straight at the man as he slipped through the opening doors, shouting at him again. "Stop calling her a thing! And I'm not her trainer, I'm nothing like you! I care about her!"
- A tilt of his head as the doors began to close, then a laugh. "Wow! I suppose you two owe me, don't you?! A boy and his over-human reject! Let's see who the real perfect Pokémorph is for a new world!" And with that, the door closed, Naito barely stopping himself in time to avoid hitting the wall.
- "Gods damn it!" he exclaimed, before turning around to the cages...and the horror came to him.
- One by one the creatures exited, making various animalistic noises. Four of them in total.
- A male figure with yellow skin walked out of one on two legs, with a long mustache that seemed to blend with the skin coming from a fox-like face with a red star-like marking on the forehead. A thick tail protruded from its backside, dragged a bit on the ground, but quickly picked up. Two squiggled markings of red were on its unclothed abdomen, nothing private shown, and a thick, brown jacket was over its top, not covering the arms. The mouth curled into a sinister smirk as the Kadabramorph twirled his silver spoon with his right hand, both hands having five, human fingers with the same hue. He motioned to the two heroes, and the second one of the enemies seemed to fizz out of existence.
- Naito was caught by surprised, slammed into the floor by a kick to the back of the head that might have also taken Jasmine due to the speed, but he saw who it was when the motion stopped.
- The overall body was a deep teal, with a spine of some sort on the top of the head. Feminine green eyes with eyelashes were visible, with yellow instead of white. She was bipedal like the first, with a white mark under the bottom and five fingers and toes like the Kadabramorph, albeit with each of the central ones being red rather than blue. In addition, the red on each hand was a claw. A small red throat sac was visible under her chin. A grin with buck teeth showed that the Toxicroakmorph prepared for the next strike.
- Then came the next. A blue, hovering disc of sorts, with bumps around the body and a herb-like crest on its back, with two, brown human eyes of an unknown gender upon its front with yellow where white would be, a mouth below the center curled into a forced grimace of sorts. This one was a mixture of a Bronzor and a human of unknown gender.
- Another female, this one bat-like and covered in blue skin, the mouth open, screeching as she flew to the exit door that had closed and began to flap two wings with purple webbing and blue outlines. Four fangs were in the mouth, two on top, two on bottom, all relatively small, and the mouth was wide open, showing not the blank void of most Golbats, but rather an enlarged view of a human oral cavity, perhaps with the void beyond it somewhere. There were two blue bat like ears on the head, and those eyes were blue, both angry from the eyebrows and fearful from the eyes themselves.
- They could have been, would have been human. But no longer. These were different.
- Naito got to his feet, forcing himself to get over his shock. As Saturn believed, they were "perfect" Pokémorphs, what he had wanted for Jasmine. And like it or not, the Interferences had to fight.
- (You can have them use any attacks you feel on Jasmine or Naito, but remember what I sent you about them in terms of weaknesses and strengths, and Jasmine's weaknesses and strengths as well.
- Plus, you can have her respond to Saturn as well.)
- ====
- Jasmine really didn't hate many people but this person right in front her. There was no other thing other than hate that Jazz felt for him.
- "Saturn you bastard!" Jasmine screamed. This man was the reason she existed but she hated him. Hated all the problems he had caused. Part of her wanted to pull out her chakrams and just use them and that scared another part of her.
- Jasmine did not know who Saturn was refering to by those kids but anyone who stopped Galactic's plan was good to her. Then again she shouldn't be surprised. Kids had beat Rocket, Magma and Aqua so it makes sense even Galactic would lose to them.
- But once Jasmine saw what Saturn had brought out, she paled. They had never stopped the Pokemorph work. So many people had suffered because of that, including Jasmine. It just made her hate Saturn even more.
- "I'm sorry." Jasmine whispered before using a Bug Buzz at the Kadabramorph. Her Bug type attack would be powerful against the Psychic type.
- ====
- Caught off-guard, the Kadabramorph was hit by the Bug Buzz, stumbling back and hitting the wall of its cage-like contraption, severely weakened. As the smirk became a scowl, animalistic growls came from his mouth, the spoon now gripped tightly. If she listened closely, they could be construed as two words.
- "No pity."
- With those words, he held both hands apart, an electrical orb generating between them. The hands moved back and forth, up and down...and clapped together, a spherical Shock Wave coming out in all directions that would cause massive damage to both of the Interferences and possibly paralyze them if it hit, which it most likely would. As Naito was thrown on to his back, grunting from the shock of it all in a literal sense, the Kadabramorph readied itself for Jasmine's next strike...
- Naito stood, shaking from the assault, but not ready to give in. He ducked, barely avoiding a downward, one-handed chop from the Toxicroakmorph by somersaulting backwards, then rose up on his wings again, shouting two words as he slashed in two horizontal slashes at the same time with his swords. "Moon Wave!"
- The Toxicroakmorph, still staggering from the Brick Break, was launched backwards into the Bronzormorph, destroying the cage it had been in. Though dazed, both rose up again, the latter's eyes glowing purple as it launched similarly purple beams of energy at Jasmine. If the Bronzormorph's Confuse Ray hit, Jasmine would find it difficult to hit enemies instead of herself with her attacks, her eyes glowing.
- Simultaneously, the Kadabramorph, having taken the rest of the Moon Wave with little complaint, fired a dark orb of some sort at both of the heroes at once. It seemed that the Pokémorphs had indeed mastered the ability to fight many foes. If either of the two tried to use any items for the remainder of the fight, they would feel intense headaches that would prevent it, provided the Embargo Dark-type attack hit them, which it did for Naito. All things considered, this one still was concentrated on Jasmine, however.
- "Jasmine!" Naito shouted, taking his eyes off of the last of their targets momentarily. The Golbatmorph took the opportunity, diving down, her fangs glowing purple...and sank deep into his right arm. He shouted, and began to feel slowly weakened, the poison of the Poison Fang attack sapping his health even after he threw the bat like Pokémorph off of him and slashed her away.
- He still couldn't react again, the Toxicroakmorph back, slashing at him with both arms in an X-shaped pattern to deal Bug-type damage, an X-Scissor attack. It didn't do as much damage as other strikes, but the damage was piling up, and he had landed on the ground. These foes were indeed tough.
- (Okay, just so we're clear on what's been used and what hasn't, the Bronzormorph and the Kadabramorph are concentrating on Jasmine, while the Toxicroakmorph and the Golbatmorph are concentrating on Naito. I'll send you the moves not used yet, but the Kadabramorph and the Toxicroakmorph will die in my next post.)
- ====
- Jazz screamed as she was hit by the Shock Wave. It was already a powerful attack but with Jasmine being part Flying Type it dealt even more damage. It was by sheer luck that she wasn't paralyzed by the attack but it had hurt bad. She ha just got back to her feet when she was hit by the Confuse Ray. Jasmine swagged slightly as her vision seemed badly blurred.
- But she had to keep fighting. They had to stop Galactic. Her chakrams flew out of her hands at the two morphs in front of her, cutting into them slightly but they then hit the wall and was flying in Naito's direction.
- ====
- Still weak and disoriented, Naito was unprepared for the Chakrams, which made him stagger back, shouting in more surprise than pain due to the decreased kinetic energy after the rebound. Still, he was in fact weakened, and his body was surrounded by a blue aura, the energy of a Psychic move from the Kadabramorph. He felt a sizable amount of mental pain, biting his lip to keep from crying out as the Toxicroakmorph raised an arm, preparing for a Poison Jab technique to increase the duration of his poisoned state...
- BOOM! An explosion took the floor beneath them all, Naito only barely summoning his silver wings in time to catch himself as the hold on him disappeared...and the Toxicroakmorph and Kadabramorph were gone, screaming as they fell to the ground below...and silence but for the flames. It seemed that by sheer luck, they had lost two enemies. Whatever worked.
- Coming to, Naito looked down, seeing that there was not only a way down, but a way through to the other room beyond. They could catch him! He looked to the remaining enemies, the Golbatmorph and Bronzormorph, and called out to Jasmine. "Be careful! I'll stop him!" He knew that she wanted to get the one who created her, or so he presumed, but currently, he would do his best to help her.
- The angelic time traveler flew straight down into the hole that had been created, hearing the screech of the Golbatmorph behind him as she followed. Turning, he saw an S-shaped wave of cutting wind flying straight at him, but shouted, swinging his swords. "Moon Wave!" The wave of moonlight sliced straight through, destroying the attack and sending the Golbatmorph reeling. A slam on the head from a piece of debris caused more damage before a second Moon Wave finished her off, a self defense tactic, but one he didn't enjoy at all.
- Okay, that was done. He flew back up, through a hole in the floor of the next chamber. It was much like the one before, albeit with most of a floor, and Saturn was typing into a keyboard. The angel flew at him, aiming a punch stab at his shoulder...
- Crack! A whip lashed across his face, leaving a wide open gash as he was thrown back, landing on his back as his wings disappeared, grunting in pain.
- Commander Saturn was turned his way, the whip cracking again on the ground, leaving a purple streak and tiny explosion in the process. His element, if his weapon had one, was Ghost type, though he himself was just a normal human.
- Naito stood weakly, hurt from the slash and the previous fight with no respite. "She's not just one of your experiments," he said, standing as strong as he could. "She's a person. She's more than just another project, and she's not a reject!"
- The whip lashed four times, making a kind of asterisk of pain on the angel as he was thrown back again, though he managed to stand this time still, though weak on his feet.
- Another crack of the whip came down on Naito's side, forcing him back, making it hard for him to stand. Saturn explained. "As her trainer, I think it's best that you understand this. In order to remake the world, we will need people in order to populate it, no? Humans are imperfect for this, while Pokémon are not, are better than us, can do better than we have. Your reject is as such because of too much humanity. Maybe it's time that you learned your place. It might stop her from her mad crusade to stop us." The whip came down several more times.
- The scream could likely be heard in the other room.
- ===
- Meanwhile, the Bronzormorph was not done. Its eyes glowed gold, and it launched several multicolored waves of energy at Jasmine, trying to distract her or hurt her with a Psychic-type Extrasensory before it began to spin. Faster, and fast it went....before it launched itself at her, a Steel-type Gyro Ball followed up by a last strike, a zigzagging, spiraling blob of dark energy that aimed at her. If this Ghost-type Shadow Ball hit, she would face both damage and a possible lowering of her Special Defense.
- (You can take out the Bronzormorph, Sorin, and join Naito in the next room if you want. And the scream from Naito is probably audible. Maybe she gets her new magic set now from the stress of him being in pain and trouble? Or it could be next round. Dunno.)
- ====
- Jasmine was flying at the time of the explosion so she was still in the air while everyone fell. She didn't feel right about letting Naito go after Saturn alone but there was no way they could let him get away other wise. Two against one wasn't easy but Double Team would let her avoid most of the attacks from the remaining morph. Of course everything changed once Jasmine heard the screams.
- The Butterfreemorph paused in mid air which let her get hit by the Shadow Ball. With her attention back on the Bronzormorph, Jasmine narrowed her eyes. She had to win this fight quickly to go help Naito.
- Jasmine's wings fluttered as the super sonic Bug Buzz filled the room, causing the morph damage. Seeing it realing back from the attack Jasmine charged right in. But she wouldn't be able to finish it that easily. It knocked her away before she could do anything and her chakrams were sent out of her hands.
- Jasmine grit her teeth as she got up again. When the morph charged her she flew right up and sent powder down on top of it. Jasmine hoped that her Stun Spore would take affect. The morph turned to face her...and seemed to pause mid way.
- Jasmine sighed in relief that it was paralyzed. Now that it couldn't move, she picked up her chakrams and with a quiet. "I'm sorry." ended its life. With the threat gone she flew after Naito, hoping he was okay.
- ====
- Meanwhile, Naito was barely getting up as Jasmine flew under. As he saw it, the whip was a Ghost element, and it had a blade to its side. He did notice that as the next onslaught came.
- A spin, holding it overhead, and Saturn slashed at his foe, a small explosion of Ghost power sending him against the wall again, falling down into the hole... He flew back up, probably seen by Jasmine, and the next combination came. The bladed whip spun repeatedly, slicing into his front, forcing him to bite his lip to keep from a shout, and a flick of it came next, the tip embedding in his chest and yanking him away from the hole for a kick to the head that sent him into a daze, the spinning flip that kicked him up as the bladed whip lashed around the commander, the series of whip around him that ended with him landing on his face, barely getting up gain.
- Naito was standing on force of will now. Saturn came at him, slashing up diagonally and making him stagger before leaving a long lash across his cheek, blood dripping down his neck from the wound now. The entire thing wrapped around his legs, and he slammed into a wall as an explosion broke down the floor more, two lashed down his sides making any retaliation hard. Finally he reacted, standing again and finally slicing it off of him. The next one grabbed him under the arms, yanked him over, aimed for his abdomen to slam him down...but he didn't let it.
- In the air, wings summoned momentarily to dodge the kick, and he stabbed down with one Lunar Saber, causing a shout of pain as he was let drop in front of the commander. Apparently the weapon had an element, but he was a Normal Type personally.
- Naito coughed, standing weakly. "Why...? Is she human...? Are you going to kill her...?"
- Saturn laughed at him at that, though he did shake his foot in anger, still not looking in the direction of the hole. "Foolish trainer. She is going to live her days out and expire like any other human. There is no reason for anything else, and we have enough trouble with two eleven year old kids. She doesn't even do anything against us directly until now."
- Naito sighed with relief, though he coughed. He wanted to use a spell to heal himself, but... he was too scared of it still. Still, it did help him. She was mortal after all. He just hoped she could save him.
- (Feel free to control Saturn for this. He has basically all of Ivy's whip-based moves from Soul Caliber V (not the blade based ones) and Catwoman's whip skills, but is a Normal type with a Ghost type weapon. So he's strong against Poison, but if it gets by him he's very weak to it. You can do it all in one round if you so want. Naito can't really move.)
- ====
- "Naito!" Jasmine shouted as she flew into the room. The sight of Naito hurt and Saturn standing over him holding that whip made Jazz pause in the middle of the air, only her wings moving to keep her floating. Then in a split second she suddenly moved.
- The Butterfreemorph flew right at Saturn, chakrams in her hands swinging out at the human. Saturn was having trouble avoiding the bladed disks. Though Jasmine's attacks were wild, Jazz was swinging them faster than he had exptected. But he was able to create some distance between the two with a kick to Jasmine's gut.
- The butterfreemorph staggered back and looked up just in time to get struck by the whip. She cried out and rolled to avoid a second swing. She remembered this kind of pain back when she was first starting out. Back when Marina tried to make Jasmine, her's. But this time it was going to be different, Jasmine was stronger now. She wasn't going to wait and hope for anyone to rescue her.
- Jasmine flew her chakrams and noted with some bit of glee that the blades cut into Saturn slightly. But she had to focus now that her weapons were flying back to her. Saturn seized the opening and managed to wrap his whip around her leg and went to slam her into the ground. But Jasmine had this happen to her before and she wasn't going to let him do it to her. She barely got her leg free in time though she skid across the ground.
- Before Saturn could even say a word, Jazz blasted him back with a Psybeam. Using the second to catch her breath and chakrams, she stood up to look at Saturn. It looked like that attack didn't have much of an effect. She had to end this fight soon and help Naito.
- Jasmine went in for her next attack but Saturn was prepared. His whip already moving to where she was about to fly to. Jasmine cried out as she was struck yet again, the whip seemed to be much more painful than the one Marina used. But now that she was caught, Saturn whipped her again and again. She couldn't get free.
- She fell to the ground once he had stopped and didn't seem to be moving. "Now that she is taken care of-" Saturn began to say before stopping as he noticed movement out of the corner of his eye. Jasmine was getting up again but this time she seemed to have a strange sickly green aura around that that looked like it was just dripping off her. That aura and the glare that she was giving Saturn made her seem like some kind of monster.
- ====
- Naito tried to get up from where he had fallen. He did. He really did, angered especially by Saturn's attacks against Jasmine. He would never allow this. Finally, as Saturn turned his way, hurt by Jasmine's side of the assault, he had managed it. Along with the commander, he was shocked by Jasmine's dripping aura, possibly acidic or at least poisonous. What was this?
- He finally struck as Saturn raised his weapon, ready to attack. A Moon Wave took the man in the knee, making him stagger and turn in the direction of the angel, the whip turning mid-strike and slashing him across his side, making him fall once more. Still, there remained a problem.
- Commander Saturn had left his back wide open.
- (Feel free to finish it, but don't kill him, ok?)
- ====
- Saturn stared at Jazz seemingly in a stupor at the strange aura surrounding the Butterfreemoprh. She had never shown signs of anything like this. No Pokemorph showed any kind of signs of this kind of power. Saturn had no idea what this power was or how Jasmine got it and it made him nervous.
- Jasmine glared at Saturn as her wings flapped bringing her into the air. She didn't fully understand what was happening to her but it was giving her power and she was going to use it. Thankfully it seemed to be giving her to know how to use it so Jazz knew what it was capable of.
- "Bug Spray!" Jasmine shouted as a cloud of green gas came out from her wings and splashed on Saturn.
- The man cried out as he could feel it burning him. It was like poison. He had to get out of the cloud. But that wouldn't be of much help as Jasmine was waiting for him to do that.
- "Stingers!" Jasmine shouted again as small darts shot from her fingers, several hitting Saturn. The man went down, crying out. He couldn't seem to get up, the poison having done its damage.
- ====
- Naito was shocked. He had never seen that kind of power from her. Still, he didn't object, falling to his knees in front of Saturn, unable to stand at present. "Jasmine... please... something to help, anything..." He reached for a Potion... but gasped in pain as he couldn't hold it. Too much agony to do so in his state.
- Saturn, though, called out, spitting blood and poisonous fluid on the ground, his Ghost-type whip out of his grasp. "Humans... humans could defeat me...? And a..."
- Footsteps were audible at the next stairway near them. The next man was visible, with his short blue hair and similarly blue eyes, his pale skin, hands behind his back clasped. He was in a similar attire to Saturn, albeit with a vest instead of the total shirt, the "G" of Team Galactic on his left pectoral. There were some kinds of metal devices on his arms, gripped somehow. He was completely emotionless as he looked at his second in command.
- "M-Master Cyrus!" Saturn exclaimed. "Antidote... need an antidote! You need me for the complete world!"
- The words were emotionless as he scanned the victors. "According to one theory, Mt. Coronet is where the Sinnoh region began. A newly created world. A world where only time flowed and space expanded. There should have been no strife." He took a step closer, though still on the steps themselves. "But what became of the world? Because the human spirit is weak and incomplete, strife has spread. This world is being ruined by it. I find this state of affairs deplorable."
- "What?!" Saturn evidently did not agree. "A world without spirit?! Who would want such a thing?!"
- The movement was swift and merciless, but still happened nonetheless. A left arm moving forward, the crack of a gunshot, and a burst of blood from Saturn's chest. Before anyone could react, Boss Cyrus had walked off, a winged creature of some sort carrying him up toward the roof. In his arms were what looked to be bladed tonfas, one on each arm, each armed with a six-round revolver.
- Naito looked over their fallen foe, though he was not dead. He looked to them, weak, defeated, rejected among rejects. "So, it's you..." He coughed, realizing just who he was dealing with now, at least in Jasmine's case. Not a reject. She was what they needed. "I've heard about you and what took place at that base. Our leader, Master Cyrus... You heard him. And yet, using fiery exhortations, he rallied the spirit of others." He coughed, though perhaps it was a laugh at the hypocrisy. "What he hated most, he used to control others. Isn't that ironic? That fascinated me. I wanted to see what he would do. And I did. At his side. But it's over. A world without spirit..." He looked at Jasmine now, and her alone, as he drew several Sitrus Berries. Not enough for them to fully recharge, but enough to make them formidable against their last target. He handed the berries to each of them as a way to bypass the Embargo.
- Naito hesitantly ate it, feeling much of his strength return. Another down, and he was ready for action, standing again. "I don't know what to say."
- "So, what now...?" the Commander asked his technical worst enemy, though one he had ignored time and again. "What will you do with me?" A cough. "What to do with Team Galactic? Master Cyrus... He will likely be heading for..." Another cough of blood. "Mt. Coronet... That is the only path left..." An explosion took place far below, making the ground shake.
- The commander who had created the Pokémorphs looked to his creation. "You were created... for the perfect world... to replace us... we thought you too human... I did... But I've learned that extremism is never the solution... Perhaps we should really be searching for new sources of energy. Instead of lying about it through our commercials." A pause as he hacked up a lung again, more blood on the ground as he held his chest.
- Naito looked to the Butterfreemorph. "You decide, Jasmine. I won't hold anything against you, I promise."
- "Jasmine..." He seemed to think the name over. "What will you do with me... Jasmine? You won... Evolved to survive, earned your place in these worlds... We tried to kill you because of your life span... too long, too capable for strife... humanlike, not that of a Butterfree... Mortal, but uncontrolled, incalculable by our standards to what we needed...
- "You are no reject... But I don't expect you to forgive..."
- ====
- Jasmine glared at the man known as Cyrus. He was the one to have caused all the pain. Because of him the Pokemorphs would have never been created and hearing his true plan, it made Jasmine want to stop him even more. Someone like Cyrus has to be stopped before he could hurt any more people. But before Jazz could deal with him she had one more thing she had to finish up.
- She listened to Saturn, her face never changing. She didn't believe him at all. But no matter how much she hated Saturn she hated killing people even more. The Butterfreemorph pulled out a Potion and Antidote and threw them to Saturn.
- "Let's go Naito. We need to catch up to Cyrus and stop him." Jasmine said, not giving a single word to Saturn. She had nothing more to say to him.
- ====
- Naito nodded, running up the stairs, glad she would at least give that small mercy. He didn't hear more explosions below, but did assume Saturn had taken the potion given to him.
- The trip up was...relatively uneventful, aside from the occasional falling beam or screams from lower levels. That was... until they reached the roof.
- "Good. You survived." The helicopter that had brought them was here at the top. It was open on the side again for them to go in. That mysterious voice explained.
- "Cyrus just escaped, too fast to be caught at present, but he was not alone."
- A broken window could be seen near, possibly able to reflect.
- "Giratina, the Renegade Pokémon. Not a mere legend. It took him and his Crobat-human to Mount Coronet to run off to the Distortion World where it lives, perhaps to punish him for his attempts to destroy this world. I believe you should get back in--"
- Naito was already running over, jumping into the helicopter. "Jasmine, come on! We can't just let him get off if he's going to!"
- "Excellent. If Jasmine, as you called her, would explain the situation with Giratina and who it is on the way, that would be very helpful. The skies are not clear, but there does seem to be a dark portal over the mountain from our last news."
- ====
- Jasmine wasn't feeling as confident as she flew into the helicopter. She didn't even realize that Giratina actually existed. People had seen some of the other Legendaries before but Giratina was a huge mystery to her. She wasn't even sure if she would be able to talk with it, let alone if it would listen to her. In Jazz's mind she was thinking that it might smite her for being a Pokemoprh.
- "Let's go." Jasmine just said. They would deal with Giratina when they got there. She just hoped that it wouldn't be up to fighting them.
- ====
- Naito touched her shoulder, squeezing it for some comfort as he frowned and sighed. He could see how upset she was. Nonetheless, he did listen as the Team Plasma representative began to explain.
- "Giratina, the Renegade Pokémon, is the personification of antimatter, the opposite to Dialga and Palkia, Time and Space. Created by Arceus the Alpha Pokémon at the dawn of creation, perhaps as an equilibrium to the Temporal and Spatial Pokémon. The Alpha Pokémon itself banished Giratina to the Distortion World for its violence, but some do disappear into that reversed world opposite our own. They say it follows them through reflective surfaces. But it only interfered now, now when Cyrus nearly completed his goal to destroy the entire world. Perhaps it only acts out of self-preservation."
- There was a shout from the cockpit then. Apparently whoever this was was not an actual person here, but someone on a radio. The entire vehicle began to shake, back and forth, unable to keep control.
- Naito, surprised by the interference of such an eldritch being, staggered back and forth, almost falling over. "What's going on?!" Suddenly, he saw the dark blurs, and an intense pain sent him flying out of the side of the helicopter.
- The one dropped was a bluish-black, bipedal feline with a bright red crown and similar collar. He had feathers coming out of his ears and two red tails, but has brown, crazed, humanlike eyes and humanoid hands and feet with long, sharp nails instead of clawed paws. This Weavillemorph tried lunging for Jasmine in the chaos, his presence probably making her natural skills significantly more difficult due to his "Pressure" ability. On the lunge, he punched hard at her with one hand covered in ice, the Ice Punch possibly freezing her solid for his next attack if she did not dodge, the same "X-Scissor" that the Toxicroakmorph had performed earlier.
- The other, who had dove through the helicopter, seemed akin to a crow. His feathers were mainly dark blue, while the underside of his wings was partially red. The tail's base was a white, cylindrical stalk, on which there was a growth of red feathers on the end. The Pokémorph had a white and prominent crest of feathers on his chest that bore a resemblance to a beard or cravat. Honchkrow has two feet of a human. His head was supported by a broad and short neck. Though he had a slightly curved, yellow beak, the inside of the mouth was instead humanoid. The circular eyes had a white cornea and green pupils normally, with dark blue eyelids, but they were glowing blue, perhaps using a skill of some sort to cause the helicopter to shake like it was, but returning to normal at the moment. A large feather crest on its head made him appear to be wearing a fedora hat with spikes extending from the back. The Honchkrowmorph's specific coat of feathers make him bear vague resemblance to a man dressed in a formal suit and a hat. He had tackled with the mouth-beak spinning like a drill, dealing some, but not a serious amount of damage. Naito grunted, but managed to stay hovering on his instinctually-reemergent wings. He had to, had no other choice but to fight.
- These had to be two of Cyrus' Pokémorphs. No others would follow them so directly. He just hoped that this one, with his cool demeanor, would not hurt him too badly. A shouted Moon Wave in an X form did not deal much damage, but the next to Naito did, almost blinding him with the pain. Luckily, the berries had done enough to heal him up. Still, the Night Slash, which cut directly into his chest with white-purple-blue glowing wings of midnight as the Honchkrowmorph flew by, did hurt a lot. He would have to get a potion or something once this ended. He slashed back, dealing some good damage to one of the wings and forcing the "Big Boss Pokémon" -morph down quite a bit before he rose again, more determined, only to be slashed again on the other wing after another Night Slash was barely dodged with a spin with both swords out.
- Naito didn't want to do this, but he had to. His life, and the life of Jasmine and possibly her entire universe depended on their success, and they needed to be in top form.
- (Feel free to get him close to death or even kill him, Sorin. I do have a plan if you don't kill him in your round, though, so no problems if that comes up.)
- ====
- Jasmine scowled as she dodged the Ice Punch. She should have expected Cyrus to send someone to slow them down but she never expected to see that he would have morphs as well. She jumped back to avoid the second attack and she drew her weapons. She had to focus on what was in front of her, she could deal with Giratina later.
- Jasmine used her ability to fly to her advantage. While the Weavillemorph was fast and could reach her in the air, Jasmine wasn't going to make it easy for it. Her chakrams threw out of her hands trying to cut into the morph but it was able to dodge.
- Still with its Pressure, using her own abilities would be tough so she would have to rely on her weapons and with her chakrams that would not be easy. Still Jasmine had to stop Cyrus so that meant having to beat his morphs. But she wasn't sure what she could do.
- ====
- A slash from Naito, a dive bomb from the Honchkrowmorph that was risen over, a slash at the back, a few Drill Pecks to his chest forcing him back... Naito was in a fairly even fight overall, at least to a degree. He knew he had to make this fast, especially since Jasmine below was in trouble...
- The morph opened his mouth as Naito dove a bit lower, between the entrance and the bird. The mouth was opening more, a large fireball forming, ready to fire!
- He had to stop him, had to... wait. No, this wasn't a magic attack, this was just a biological skill. He couldn't block the Honchkrowmorph's move, so he shouted back. "Jasmine, watch out!" And he dove downward.
- A beam of burning winds of fire erupted from the mouth, the Heat Wave hitting a lunging Weavillemorph halfway up and sending him sprawling, screaming in pain.
- The crazed Pokémorph did not seem to consider his own ally would not attack him on purpose. He was totally homicidal, wanting to kill, kill, kill! This one would have to do! The Weavillemorph lunged, claws on both hands glowing bright white... and slashed, down on each of Naito's shoulders. As he cried out in pain at the Night Slash, however, the catlike morph lunged again, using his bleeding shoulders as leverage. He didn't care about the surprised Honchkrowmorph's eyes glowing blue as he tried to use a Psychic to keep him back. All he cared about was his icy fist, raised back...
- "Die!" And he punched, freezing his "enemy" solid... and causing him to fall. Down, down....
- In hindsight, this was not the brightest idea. The Weavillemorph seemed to understand that, and was horrified, trying to jump back to Naito, trying, trying to hard!
- ...the grip just wasn't quite there. With a scream, their foes fell to their deaths, both gone due to a misunderstanding.
- Naito flew back, stumbling a bit. "Are you okay...?" he asked, leaning against a wall in a bit of pain himself.
- The helicopter began to move again. A dark cloud was visible in the distance, but the cause of it wasn't quite certain, aside from that its was probably near Mount Coronet.
- They were almost there.
- ====
- Jasmine blinked several times. Really of all the ways for the fight to have ended, Jasmine did not expect that. She guessed that there was still a few problems with the morph process as that was an incredibly stupid thing for the Weavilemorph to do. Still it was one problem solved. After muttering a quick apology to the two morphs she turned to Naito.
- "Yeah I am." Jasmine replied as she looked out. Really the dark cloud did not help how she felt. They were going to meet a Legendary and one as powerful as Giratina. She just hoped it would listen.
- ====
- Naito nodded, still a little weak... when two compartments opened up. One was on the front of the helicopter, one on the back. Both had two Sitrus Berries in them, enough for half health.
- The calm voice again. "If you have been weakened, replenish yourselves with these and whatever you may have on yourselves. This fight is not over yet."
- Naito nodded weakly taking the berries from one tray and handing those from the other to Jasmine, eating the former. He took a deep breath as he was replenished, using a Potion to wash it down and finish the healing before giving one to her as well.
- They were approaching the mountain. As they did, he could see their target location.
- Mount Coronet was enormous, to be certain. Then again, it was more or less visible from everywhere on the region, taking up most of its location there, but that wasn't really the issue. What was, however, was that there was a black hole at the top of the mountain.
- Naito's eyes widened as he saw the portal into the Distortion World. Had Cyrus truly gone there? It had purple around the edges, and was pitch black within, as if flat, unknowable. He couldn't even fathom what it was that was there, even as they approached, came close enough to actually fly over quite easily.
- "You may go now," he said then, that benefactor, one side pointing toward the portal. It was true. They c--
- BANG!
- The bottom of one side of the helicopter twisted wildly, the pilot shouting. But his call was only barely heard for a rather specific reason.
- "A Gyarados this high?!" the man shouted in the cockpit. "Get-- Wait, that's not a-- We're going down!" he shouted.
- As per the earlier statement, they had a very specific reason for not hearing him. The Giga Impact that had caused such significant damage to the helicopter had also caused at least Naito to go flying out of the aircraft, slamming his head on the ceiling on the way, knocked out. He was not even aware as he, and likely Jasmine, was propelled out, flying into the black portal without his own volition.
- He wasn't even awake to know.
- ====
- Being part Pokemon, it gave Jasmine a bit of a like toward berries. So she nommed on the one that Naito gave her. The berry gave some health back and helped her relax a bit. Of course any feeling of relation would suddenly disappear as the helicopter was suddenly attacked. Jasmine managed to get out without hitting anything but she spotted Naito falling out. And he wasn't moving at all.
- "Naito!" Jasmine shouted as she flew after him. She wasn't going to be able to catch him before he went into the portal. So she would follow him in and hopefully the two would be able to find their way out. Shouldn't be too hard...Jasmine hoped.
- ====
- A headache.
- This was far from an unusual state of being by now. Very far. Still, the screeching did alarm him.
- Inhuman. Possibly chiropteran, not that Naito would use such a word. It seemed both like a bat and a human. Another of those experiments.
- His eyes opened slowly. He could see the dark rock of the ground, the large tree sticking out that rapidly.... "ungrew" would probably be the term. One moment it was very tall, like giant kelp, the next it was half disintegrating into nothingness, half sinking into the ground and...un-develping. Another rock near him grew out of the platform on which they were lying, a second rock disintegrating like the kelp. Platforms around them appeared and disappeared at random, sometimes at actual right angle or other types of angle to one another, as if a central gravity did not exist.
- He looked around. To their left was a swiftly-moving waterfall....off of nothing, leading up and in some parts sideways from nothing to nothing. He looked around at last. They were in a purple vortex of some sort, an abyss. Presumably there was an exit not far from here, but he did not know where. He looked to the nearby Jasmine, nodding that he was okay.
- "Cyrus!" He could finally hear something out of the screeches, the form of a purple bat like creature, a man by the voice, with four purple wings still attempted to fly. Attempted was the operative word, since the bottom wings (seeming to be the remnants of feet) were encased in stone, the top wings (formerly hands, with fingers on the ends) struggling to get him free. The Crobatmorph's back was to them, but he kept trying, looking around frantically, flying in a single direction. Presumably this was the right direction to go.
- He seemed to notice them, however. "You!" he shouted. Two large buzz saws of wind revved before him, and launched themselves at the duo, Naito throwing himself over Jasmine to take the blow. He grunted, but it was, all things considered, not nearly as bad as other things he had been hit with. He looked at the bat-thing again, and his body began to glow brightly, mesmerizing any who would look at it. He was stuck in a trance...
- Two purple slashes came, one from each unrestrained wing, probably hitting both of them. Naito gasped in pain as this happened, somewhat damaged by the Cross Poison, but not realizing the other effect of increased effect of critical hits against him.
- That was the last the Crobatmorph was able to do, however. He tried, tried so very hard to escape, but then it happened. Another rock grew out of the ground before him, enveloping the top of his head. As a silent screech came, a tree came up from behind, pushing him up, up....and there was a sickening crack as his back broke, his body broken as the tree just disappearing as he finally died to this world.
- The angel was shocked, of course, but he had no chance to react. There was a deafening roar, and a blue head snaked over Jasmine, grabbing him in its teeth by the waist and dragging him into the upward stream! He shouted, stabbing hard into the side of the head that he could not see, and was released, falling sideways into the water. He felt the current moving, but nothing actually happened to him in it. It just moved, with nothing actually restricting him. It was then that he looked to his foe.... and stayed there, horrified.
- The beast had a human head with short, blue hair that was greatly unkempt. The eyes were a piercing red, the mouth unnaturally large and filled with enormous dagger like teeth. There was a large blue scar over the upper lip as well, but the rest of the body was far more disturbing. It had no arms, its forefront torso human, with scales folded over it as protection, but the human quality clearly there. The "tail" of this serpentine beast was really two fused-together legs. The back, however, was blue and fully scaled, with numerous white crests along its length, about three of them. The male Gyaradosmorph roared once more, his Intimidate skill working wonders to lower Naito's combat efficiency.
- Meanwhile, Jasmine had a different issue. This one seemed to look like a hound of some sort, with black fur over most of his body, but brown on the undersides and snout, not to mention white, bonelike projections arcing over the back and around all four ankles (the limbs of which were normal hands and feet). Bony horns arced back out of his head, a bone-like "collar" of sorts around the neck. A forked tail came from his backside. The head, otherwise, looked humanoid, the eyes a deep blue, the teeth, though sharp, not nearly as large as the Gyaradosmorph. That wasn't to say that this Houndoommorph was not a threat. Even on his platform, which was, of all things, entirely upside down to Jasmine's, forcing them both to look up, he still was ready for action, and showed as much as he half-shouted, half-howled, and lunged upward down toward her position. The Houndoommorph's teeth crackled with electricity as he tried for a Thunder Fang attack, an electrical bite that had a possibility to cause paralysis and electric damage. Immediately after, in case he had missed, he fired a blue fireball from his mouth. This Will-o-the-Wisp would, if it made contact and was successful, cause fire burn damage over the course of the entire battle.
- "Die!" boomed the Gyaradosmorph, and the water picked up suddenly, forcing Naito back, down, down into the abyss! He didn't have time to resist, however, as the monstrous form charged down the new Waterfall, slamming him in the chest and forcing him flying back.
- He managed to fly out of it at last with his wings, back up to Jasmine's level, but could not help with her situation. He charged energy in his swords.... "Moon Wave!" The attack hit true, making the serpent shout in anger, but Naito had to fly down, met him halfway... and the headbutt sent him flying, slamming hard into a nearby bottom of a platform, where he seemed to stay due to this odd gravity. He gasped in pain, reaching and taking out a Potion and drinking it, but rolled aside to just barely avoid the next charge. The solution was as such: The Gyaradosmorph was on the platform with him now, and ready for more action. He, on the other hand, had, as per usual for this venture, seen better days.
- It seemed that, as per any end game, these two were especially ferocious, especially with the loss of the Crobatmorph, who was still aiming in the direction of where Cyrus presumably went, to the sheer physics of this Distortion World. They just had to hope that they could get out of this alive.
- ====
- Jasmine brought her chakrams up to block the Houndoommorph from biting her, but it seemed it already prepared a second attack and the Will-o-The-Wisp knocked her away. Jazz hissed in pain as her side was burned from the attack. This was not going to be easy. With it being a Houndoommorph, it already had fire attacks but with Thunder Fang meant it could take advantage of the weaknesses of both of her types.
- Well Jasmine would have one thing that could be used to her advantage, her brand new magic. But first she had to make sure she wasn't hit again. A quick Double Team would help keep the enemy morph confused and far enough away so it can't try another Thunder Fang. Thankfully it seemed to be working as the morph just sent fire attack after fire attack at her, trying to get one to hit.
- Jasmine hissed again as one came too close for comfort. She had to start fighting back. "Bug Spray!" Jasmine called out as she flapped her wings, the poisonous cloud quickly formed around the hound morph who coughed and tried to get out of the cloud.
- That was what Jasmine was hoping he would do as evident by the pair of chakrams waiting for it. Jasmine sighed as the bladed rings cut into the Houndoommorph. She wanted to get this finished once and for all.
- ====
- The Gyaradosmorph roared, and shook, slamming itself down on the platform. Cracks rippled out as the force of the Ground-based move hit, but Naito was already flying once more, out of range. He was ready to attack again, raising his swords...
- Suddenly, everything changed. The very direction of the water shifted, slamming straight into the villainous Pokémorph, causing him to roar in surprise, pain, rage. More, more the water shoved him into the rock! The rock, already hit by the Earthquake, split....and slammed together. The head was crushed between the pieces... and the great beast went limp, blood flowing out from between the pieces.
- He didn't like it, but it had to be done. Naito looked to see if Jasmine was okay. she seemed relatively fine, but they both weren't at their best. Okay, he was taking it worse, but he could probably take it. He didn't know her limits. "Just be careful, okay?" he said, concerned, but looked over at the body of the dead Crobatmorph. It was pointed....there. He pointed toward the path ahead. "Just... follow me, okay? And please take a Potion if you have any." With that, he flew ahead.
- It wasn't long there. Or maybe it was days, or minutes, or years, or seconds... time was inconsequential, confusing, as they came to what appeared to be several appearing platforms. Naito, tired, stepped on one, seeing a humanoid form in the distance that was probably Cyrus. He ran, continuing on, trying to get forward, forward, moving, moving... Every time he stepped, a platform appeared. It was as if the universe itself wanted them to succeed. Or perhaps it just wanted whatever would make them fail. Whatever it was, it was, indeed, uncertain.
- Cyrus was indeed standing on the platform, looking out at the polychromatic abyss of chaos, his two bladed tonfa-revolvers in his hands tightly, but the rest of his body calm. On a platform next to his was what appeared to be a large cage, big enough to hold both of them, with many needles inside and a large red claw-like mechanical device. The purpose was unknown.
- He spoke, not even looking at them. "... The shadowy Pokémon isn't here. It abandoned me here, then disappeared somewhere farther down... Was it content to merely interfere with my plan...? Incidentally, do you understand the concept of genes?" His voice was emotionless as ever.
- "We know enough. We don't need schooling from you." Naito's swords remained out, ready.
- He wasn't even caring about a response. "... If it's true, you've impressed me. Genes can be considered the blueprints of all life-forms. That includes humans and Pokémon alike. Genes are contained in a DNA strand. A DNA strand consists of 2 chains of opposing characteristics in a spiral. If one of the chains were to be broken, the other could replicate it. One or the other cannot exist without its opposite. Do you understand where I am going with this?"
- "Stop speaking in riddles and get to the point so we can stop you already!" Naito's mood was not at its height by a long shot.
- So he did. "This is a bizarre world. Time doesn't flow. Space isn't stable. Only that shadowy Pokémon lives here. This world is the opposite of our world-- our world I wish to change. It is like the two chains composing the strand of DNA. The two worlds must be balancing each other to remain in existence. Without one, the other cannot exist. The shadowy Pokémon must play a role in keeping the worlds in balance. That is why it must have interfered and brought me here. The shadowy Pokémon must have made this bizarre world. That's why trying to change our world disturbed it and made it reveal itself. But that is all irrelevant. What matters is defeating that Pokémon and making this world disappear. I won't allow it to interfere with me again. With it gone, neither world will be able to revert to its original state..."
- "Shut up!" Naito's grip tightened, and he took a battle stance. "Nobody's here to help you! You're on your own! Galactic is finished, and you can't control anything here! We saw! Nothing can control this!"
- Determined, however. "Why should I run and hide from the world and have to wait quietly? My aim is to rid our world of the vague and incomplete thing we call spirit. By freeing ourselves of that, our world can be made complete."
- "You're not making a free world, a good world! You're making one with nothing! No conflict? No! Conflict with no meaning! Nothing! Nothing would matter and they'd just kill each other! Saturn can see that! Plasma can see that! What can't you see?!"
- Finally, something snapped. It was as if everything within Boss Cyrus exploded, and all that was left in him was pure hate and determination. "Quiet! That is my justice! No one can interfere! I won't lose! Not to that shadowy Pokémon! Not in any worthless world, and not to that thing!"
- That last word struck a chord in the angel as well. "Stop calling her a f***ing thing! She's not just an experiment, she's much more! Shut up!" He summoned Bunnymoon in a rage with his Nothing Threads.
- Bang! Bang!
- A bullet from one tonfa grazed Naito's waist as he stepped to the side to avoid it, the second hitting him in the shoulder on the feint from the other one. This man wasn't stupid, nor when he charged forward with a lunge, slashing Naito's side before jumping back to where he had been, leaving him bleeding, but standing, though the weapon dissipated for a moment. He would need to focus to bring it out again.
- However, the gunshots, which reverberated and then muted before reverberating again at random, did attract something else. The metallic screech precipitated the arrival.
- The creature seemed to just... appear from nothing, fading into view, levitating under its own power. Giratina had a large, gray, centipede-like body, and tail and a thick black stripe running vertically along the front of its body. The tail had four golden spikes on it near the edge. There was a series of red horizontal stripes running across the large black one, along with a few on the gray back. Three gold half-rings circled the back half of Giratina's neck at the same points that three of the red stripes are at on its front, resembling a ribcage that could even be used to grip objects. There were six black, ghostly streamers on its back that each had a bright red spike at the end, but the black part seemed to be gaseous. Its mouth was hidden by the golden head plates, which swung closed sideways as it stopped screaming. Giratina's "legs" were just spiky protrusions.
- "... Don't think that you can defeat or capture that Pokémon," the crazed Galactic Boss shouted. "This bizarre world is none other than that Pokémon itself! Capturing it or defeating it will make this world disappear!"
- "We...only came...to stop you!" Naito shouted, willing himself back into action. He looked to Giratina. "Please help us! We need to stop him right now!"
- Cyrus once more. "Very well! Do what you will! Rather than repairing the world, you're going to destroy it for me! Do it. You inherit my legacy."
- With that, he fire another gunshot at Jazz, lowering his capacity to four per tonfa, and dove aside, trying to avoid Giratina's next move.
- No dice. The Renegade Pokémon opened its mouth once more, and screeched, a blast of purple wind sweeping across the battlefield. Naito and Cyrus were both hit, falling back momentarily, but stood again, not willing to give in to that Ghost-type attack, even as it raised its attack and special attack stats, the defense and special defense, and the speed of this creature all at once.
- This was not going to be easy.
- (As per usual, you can control Cyrus and Giratina both. Feel free to have them attack any of the three others in the area [though, of course, attacking Giratina is probably not a good idea, Cyrus seems likely to do so].
- Also, in the previous conversation, feel free to put in Jasmine's reactions to what Cyrus said.)

- Jasmine grit her teeth as she readied her chakrams. This was it, the final battle. After this Galactic couldn't do any more harm to anyone. Of course in order to get to Cyrus she had to also deal with Giratina, a legendary but not just any legendary, one that existed in a completely other world. This was not going to be easy in any sense of the word.
- Jasmine flew right at Cyrus. The head of Team Galactic shot at her but the shots just managed to graze Jasmine. She had to keep herself from wincing as she threw her chakrams at Cyrus. Cyrus managed to use his tonfas to block the weapons but he had to jump away as Giratina launched several balls of light between the two of them.
- Jasmine wondered just whose side Giratina was on but she figured it was just doing whatever it wanted. She had to beat Cyrus and take Naito out of here before Giratina destroys everything. Jasmine sent out a Psybeam that hit Cyrus right in the chest who then had to dodge another of Giratina's attacks
- Cyrus was losing his cool as he used a few of his remaining shots on the Legendary. That was the kind of opening that Jasmine needed. With Cyrus distracted she flew in. Only too late Cyrus realized his mistake. Jasmine slashed with her chakrams. Of course Giratina didn't want to be left out as purple wind hit both Jasmine and Cyrus.
- Jasmine struggled to get up and looked to find Cyrus. He was laying not far from her, he was breathing but that all he seemed to be doing. Jasmine let herself sigh in relief. It was over, she beat Cyrus. Team Galactic was officially defeated.
- ====
- Naito was standing as he saw the attacks, fell back at the next Ominous Wind, but stood again as Cyrus was on the ground. He decided to speak to Giratina. He needed this "god" of sorts to help them, not harm them. "Listen to us!"
- That same screech sounded again, as the Renegade Pokémon turned his way. It was not amused.
- Okay, going for broke. "We don't want to hurt you! I swear! We just want to stop him, to stop what he's doing! Listen to us! We need to stop Galactic before they destroy the other world!"
- Silence.
- "Please! We don't want to fight you!"
- Finally, the Pokémon disappeared, fading from sight. They...had won?
- Bang! Another bullet took Naito in the chest, forcing him to his knees in pain, blood falling from his new wound.
- "That shadowy Pokémon..." Cyrus was on his knees again, the tonfa with his remaining bullets aimed at Naito, then Jasmine. He was still enraged, but focused now, though weak, blood on his lip. "You quelled its rage by refusing to battle it?!"
- "Because... we aren't like you... we know that the worlds deserve better... than destruction..." Naito muttered, losing consciousness slowly, but held up by force of will.
- The boss of a crumbling organization was having none of it. "Silence! Enough of your blathering!" He stood weakly, aiming at both of them with the tonfa in both hands. "That's how you justify spirit as something worthwhile?! That is merely humans hoping, deluding themselves that they are happy and safe!"
- "Because they are...without you..."
- "The emotions roiling inside me... Rage, hatred, frustration... These ugly emotions arise because of my own incomplete spirit!" Finally he had had enough. The final bullet slammed into the latch on that cage device, opened it, the metal claw rocketing out, aiming for Jasmine, trying to grasp at her!
- "Jasmine!" Naito gasped, unable to protect himself, but flying on his silver wings between them...
- Boom! The device exploded in a blast of white light, the pieces flying in all directions. With a screech, Giratina was again nowhere to be found. The last part of Cyrus' plan had fallen to pieces, Giratina saving the Interferences for its own mysterious purposes, or perhaps just to protect its own realm. Maybe it had listened to Naito?
- Cyrus' plans were gone. His organization? Probably dismantled or at least repurposed by his second in command and Team Plasma. He had every right to his anger now, especially how it was brought about by people so close to his own age, not older, and clearly not wiser, just as long as he was. However, this did not occur at all. Instead, all rage, all emotion, completely disappeared from his face. He dropped the weapons, crossing his arms over the wound Jasmine had last inflicted. "...Enough. We will never see eye to eye. This, I promise you. I will break the secrets of the world. With that knowledge, I will create my own complete and perfect world. One day, you will awaken to a world of my creation. A world without spirit."
- Naito frowned, though he was lying on the ground now, too weak to stand up any longer. He only barely noticed as a powerful blast of energy took the platform beside them, blowing it up and sending himself and Jasmine flying, probably knocking both unconscious.
- And they were falling, sideways, through the darkness. Giratina would have its peace and time to deal, personally, with Cyrus how it saw fit.

- Pokémon Center, Eterna City, Sinnoh
- Eighteen hours later
- Naito awoke with a groan. Everything felt like pain. He was shirtless, in a hospital bed somewhere. A hospital? Odd. His eyes straining, he looked at the bandages around him. Everything seemed to be covered by white cloth, all of his wounds anyway, and he seems to at least have himself covered.
- "Hey." The angel almost jumped (if he could), turned, and saw a familiar face, a demon. Isaac Zivaku was sitting in a plastic, folding chair, hands clasped with his elbows on his thighs. His clothes were somewhat wet, but mostly dried. Had he gone to those mountains?
- "I...saac?" He was surprised and relieved to see a familiar face, if self-admitted untrustworthy one. He was family, after all, and in a roundabout way he did sort of try to help. He just had to hope that the demon would not lie here. "Don't lie to me here, Isaac..." And he let himself relax on the bed for the time being, needing his strength. "...where are we? What happened?"
- "You've been out for the better part of a day," the demon said softly, just in case of ear damage, but loud enough to be heard. "I saw you two at that top of that snowy mountain, the only reason you didn't bleed out, and carried you to Eterna City's Pokémon Center on the west side of the Mount Coronet range. Veilstone is on the east side." As a pause, he decided to explain. "Yeah, yeah, I skimmed your hearts for all information on what happened here so I could get a good idea. Pokémon Centers are medical facilities for trainers' Pokémon, but they managed to use what they had for humans and humanoids when I told them the seriousness of the situation."
- A pause again. "While they told me to head out while they fixed you two up, I went over the mountain again to be sure of what happened there. The smoke's still rising in Veilstone City, but it seems like the only casualties are the relatively nameless goons. Saturn, the guy you two fought? He's gone, but I seriously doubt he'll ever try anything of this caliber again. We can safely assume at least the Pokémorph project is history. Maybe the commanders will opt to actually come clean, but it's doubtful, though possible. I think at least Saturn is halfway sensible and realizes the insanity of his former boss's scheme, which was solely for Cyrus himself. Getting shot by your boss sort of has an impact."
- Again a pause, but mostly for Naito to let it sink in, then he spoke once more. "When I talked with the nurses around here, I got the impression, with liberal use of my ability, that they don't really care about what Jazz looks like. Hell, most of the people I passed, though surprised, didn't think it was bad. They even liked what she looked like. There were a few people, even in this Center, who thought the worst, but they're easily quieted after a talk with some of the other nurses. So I think any concerns about acceptance and need to fit in don't really see a lot of issues."
- Naito finally spoke, or tried to. "Tha--" He coughed, unable to speak much more, trying to talk louded than he could currently handle.
- A nurse with short blue hair and a purple apron on came over with a glass of water. "Welcome to the Pokémon Center," she told him. "Are you okay?"
- He took it, sipping as quickly as he dared until he could speak. "Yes, thank you, ma'am..." She left at that, and he looked over, opening his mouth again to speak, but was cut off
- Isaac shook his head. "You're family. What else would I do? Speaking of," he nodded toward the bed beside Naito's. "might want to make sure Jazz over there is okay."
- The time traveler looked to Jasmine, in her own bed, her less substantial wounds bandaged as well, but it looked like she would be okay. Their clothing was on a chair near them, cleaned and stitched up, but it seemed that her bandages were arranged to include sarashi. He quickly looked away, embarrassed.
- But at least they had won.
- (Only about one or two rounds left. Depends on how Jasmine reacts to the news that people don't truly care about her appearance that much.)
- ====
- Jasmine had been listening in to Isaac and Naito talk as soon as Isaac had walked into the room. She didn't want to make it look like she was listening so she pretended that she was still asleep. She heard every word that both had said. The humans in the Pokemon Center didn't care what she was? All her life Jasmine was worried what would happen if she was discovered. She knew some people wouldn't care, especially after she became an Interference.
- But to come back home and hear that most people didn't care what she was surprised Jasmine. The Butterfreemorph didn't say anything but she just cried softly into her pillow.
- ====
- Naito heard her crying, and took a breath. He wasn't going to just be some immature kid. He felt under the sheet.... good, he at least had boxers on.
- Isaac spoke first to him. "They said you two can walk and probably get dressed, even. Gave both enough to be decent, so feel free to get changed."
- The angel nodded, sliding out of bed weakly, stumbling a bit before putting his hands on Jasmine's bed, kneeling next to her, holding her waist and hugging her without a word. He would let Isaac speak now.
- And speak he did, though softly. "Team Plasma did know about you, at least from what I assume they'd have camera feeds on their helicopter. Giratina gave you two the benefit of the doubt I assume when it kept Cyrus locked up with it and sent you two out, having protected both its realm and this one. Though surprised by your appearance, the people here were understanding, sympathetic even, though they are happy you've used your genetics for good. Arceus and any number of deities could have 'smote' you as you lay unconscious here, when I was away."
- A pause. "We come from a world of prejudice, though not as victims of it until myself recently and perhaps Naito. If someone would attack you for what you are as a so-called 'freak', that person is a racist and in the wrong. And if that person is an Interference? Self-hating racist, since we're all freaks. Just different types. You're at least unique in your own special way of it now, what with the probable fall of that program."
- Finally, an offer. "You need somewhere to belong, a family? How about you choose a surname? I think it wouldn't be out of the question for you to consider yourself a member of our family, though not through any blood relation. If you don't want that, if you don't find it appropriate, try to make another name for yourself."
- Naito's eyes widened at the offer. "You... you mean it?"
- "It's ultimately her decision, but why not? We already consider Usagi your mom, which she is. I don't see much harm on some level. It's not like we could get much weirder." And he looked back to Jasmine. "So how about it? It could be a way to distinguish yourself from your past. You're more than just an experiment, so it would probably be best to fully throw off that designation by getting a two-name identity."
- ====
- Jasmine sat up, now that Isaac and Naito knew she was awake. She wiped away her tears as she listened to Isaac's speech. It was nice to hear that people could understand what she was so afraid of for most of her life. But that part of her life was now finally over. And Jasmine wasn't too sure what she was going to do from here. She was probably going to still be a Interference but other than that she wasn't too sure.
- "Thanks. I just need to think about it for a bit okay." Jasmine said as she sat on the edge of her bed. She winced as she was still sore from the battles against Galactic.
- Really right now all Jasmine wanted to do was head back to her ship and take a shower. Isaac left the room to let the two change and they made their way outside where a Save Point was waiting for them.
- "Naito...thanks for everything." Jasmine said smiling. She leaned in and gave the boy from the future a quick kiss on the cheek before she entered the Save Point. With a wave goodbye, Jasmine beamed up into her Gummi Ship, ready to move on to the next world.
- ====
- "..."
- Naito stood before the save point outside of the Pokémon Center in a state of shock. She had kissed him? She really liked him like that? Maybe they could get along, he wouldn't be alone, he could maybe bring her back, get something for her if she wanted...
- "Oh for the love of Martel..." Isaac palmed his face in exasperation behind the time traveler. "Wait until she goes to the lips, kid."
- No response whatsoever.
- "Is he okay?" one of the nurses asked, nervous, but giggling a bit at him.
- "Yeah, just one sec." The Silver Tongue pushed on Naito's back nonchalantly as he turned to them...
- ...and the Nippon angel fell to his knees, then flat on his face on the save point, disappearing immediately after in the customary beam of light.
- Isaac shrugged. "Whatever works. I assume they'll be on their ship now." The nurses looked less than happy about this, however, but he shrugged. "Those points heal us. He'll be fine, really. Thanks for all the help."
- They nodded at different points, and he, too, disappeared.
- Galactic was no more.
- (And that's a wrap. Next stop: Colosseum DX or B/W if someone wants this universe.)
