  1. DDA VERSION: 1.3
  2. STARTING DATE: August 19th, 2020 OR the 1st Wednesday I can gather at least 3 Players.
  3. TIME: 12:00 NOON UTC-6/US Central time. Use a Time Zone Converter if you need to know the time for your Time Zone.
  4. NUMBER OF PLAYERS (Minimum - Maximum): 3-5
  5. PLATFORM: Roll20 for sheets, rolls, and maps. Discord for Voice and planning.
  6. VOICE: Heavily preferred, Discord. Text is allowed, but you MUST be in the Voice Chat and not deafened when playing so that you can hear the other players and me, the GM.
  7.
  8. GENERAL INFORMATION:
  9. - Teen Age Group for Human Characters (ages 12- 19)
  10. - Players will be expected to keep track of their XP/DP honestly and fully. I will keep a document recording events and Gained XP/Total XP, but this is not an excuse to be lazy and ignore keeping up with your XP
  11. - Tamer Qualities are allowed, but you may only purchase one at Character Creation and must consult the GM similar to filling out a Torment Box if you wish to spend XP on one. You should attempt to roleplay the development that leads to earning a new Tamer Quality; doing so in a way that makes sense for the character will make it more likely the GM will accept the purchase of that quality.
  12. - You may have 2 Digimon partners, but you must discuss this with the GM beforehand and suffer minor penalties (See Digimon Houserules).
  13. - Your Digimon's Ultimate/Perfect stage may not be one of the 12 Devas.
  14. - Your Digimon's Mega/Ultimate stage may not be one of the 4 Holy Beasts.
  15. - Your Digimon may not be a Bio- Digimon.
  16. - Arcadiamon, Diablomon, Milleniummon, and Algomon are not allowed at all. Other digimon of great power are GM Discretion whether they are allowed or not (basically anything that has world-ending capacity beyond "I can hit REALLY REALLY hard" or was/is a movie/show/game villain).
  17. - Digimon begin at the Rookie/Child level, and this is their starting Base Stage.
  18. - If you have an Unofficial Recolor/edit/"Fakemon" you wish to use, or wish to use a specific digimon as a Stage it normally wouldn't be used at, you must consult the GM beforehand.
  19. - Digimon may be referred to by either their Japanese or Dubbed names as can their Stages. For clarity: In-Training/Baby II > Rookie/Child > Champion/Adult > Ultimate/Perfect > Mega/Ultimate > Burst/Super Ultimate
  20.
  21. HOUSE RULES:
  22. - HUMANS -
  23. - Humans can find, receive, or make Equipment. This comes in two forms: Combat and Non-Combat. Equipment is split into Tiers that are associated with Digimon Stage. Stage 1/ Champion. Stage 2/Ultimate. Stage 3/Mega. Characters do not begin with any Equipment and must consult the GM if they are interested in crafting/seeking out any. The bonuses they grant increase by +1 (Combat) or +2 (Non-Combat) for each Tier they are over 1. For example, a Tier 3 Non-Combat equipment would grant +6 whereas a Tier 2 Combat would only grant +2.
  24.
  25. - Combat Equipment are Armor and Weapons. They grant +1 to Armor OR Dodge Pool (for Armor) and +1 to Damage OR Accuracy Pool (For Weapons) respectively. Which each grants depends on what the Armor or Weapon is and should be discussed with the GM if it's being crafted.
  26.
  27. - Non-Combat Equipment can be just about anything that provides a non-combat benefit. For example, you could have a skateboard that grants you a bonus to Athletics. Non-Combat Equipment provides a +2 to a specific type of Skill Check associated with that Equipment. It cannot grant any bonuses to Fight or Dodge checks, must grant a bonus to a specific Skill Check. As with Combat Equipment, discuss the creation of Non-Combat Equipment with the GM.
  28.
  29. - Humans calculate Speed as Agility + Athletics. This is just because I feel Athletics makes more sense than Survival. Keep this in mind when designing your character.
  30.
  31. - DIGIMON -
  32. - Digizoid Qualities may ONLY be taken at Ultimate/Perfect and above.
  33. - Digimon roll 3d6 + their Agility, Body or Mind rather than 3d6 + Bit/Ram/CPU. The Qualities that would enable this instead allow Digimon to add half rounded down, minimum 1 (Improved Derived Stat) or all (Prodigious Skill) of their Bit/Ram/CPU to the corresponding Stat for Skill Checks. I allow this with the mindset that you as players will not simply defer to your Digimon for every Skill Check and using an increased TN for Digimon. Rookie = No Change, Champion = +2, Ultimate = +4, Mega = +8, Burst = +12. Make the Skill Check as it fits the CHARACTERS and who would be willing/able to do it, not whichever is higher.
  34. - GENERAL -
  35. - Forced Dark Evolution: A character attempting to force their Digimon Partner to evolve to the next stage beyond what they can currently reach must roll 1d6. on a 1, the digimon Dark Digivolves. Each player may attempt this once per Session.
  36.
  37. - Multiple Digimon: Limit 2 Digimon. Characters with 2 Digimon Partners are limited to a pool of Actions total among their 3 Characters. Humans have 1 Simple or Complex Action on their Turn, whereas digimon receive a pool of 3 Simple actions OR 1 Complex Action between them. For example, one Digimon could use a single Simple Action to Attack and the other could use a Complex Action to start a Clash.. Furthermore, both digimon MUST DNA Digivolve/Jogress at some point and begin with 15 DP at Rookie, 30 at Champion, 45 at Ultimate, and 60 at Mega. They cannot achieve individual Burst Stages and MUST DNA Digivolve/Jogress to reach Burst, or evolve from a DNA/Jogress Mega into a Burst Form.
  38.
  39. - Jogress gives Bonus DP equal to 5 times the number of stages the Digimon that RESULTS FROM THE DNA DIGIMON/JOGRESS is. For example, two Champions becoming an Ultimate would grant +10 Bonus DP whereas two Rookies becoming a Champion would only grant +5 Bonus DP to that DNA Digimon. If a DNA/Jogress Digimon goes from its DNA/Jogress form to the next Stage, it retains the same bonus from its previous stage. For example, a DNA Ultimate going into Mega would still only get +10 Bonus DP, as would that Mega going into Burst.
  40.
  41. - Two digimon that are single partners are allowed individual Burst Stages instead.
  42.
  43. - Money and Currency: Rather than using a counted amount of money, players roll 3d6 + Charisma + Knowledge (if they are attempting to barter for something) or 3d6 + Intellect + Knowledge (if they are simply spending money). The GM sets the appropriate TN for the item they are attempting to purchase or barter for. If it is a Critical Success (5 more more over), they purchase what they want without issue. If they roll 0-4 over the TN, they get what they want - but are strapped for funds for the rest of the Session. They receive a -2 penalty to the next Wealth Roll they make that stacks with each attempt that ends at 0-4 over the TN. If they roll less than the TN, they simply cannot afford what they're after or fail at their bartering attempt. You will be told if a Barter attempt is inappropriate for what they're trying to buy before you attempt the check.
  44.
  45. STORY INFORMATION/HOOK:
  46. Similar to Tamers, this takes place in the real world - Earth - in the United States in the "modern era" (2020-2025ish) in a city called Arlington Heights. No, I'm not giving you a distinct state because it's not important, if you need a general region, somewhere in the northeastern US.
  47.
  48. Your characters have been fighting off weaker invading Digimon for about 6 months now after meeting your partner(s) and soon after being granted Digivices by Antylamon, who claimed to be a servant of Azulongmon intent on preventing the breakdown of the boundary between the Digital World and your own due to the attacks from hostile Digimon sent by a stronger digimon known as Gokumon.
  49.
  50. At the same time, you've heard rumors of an organiation called UNDER that the United Nations has created to deal with these threats on a global scale. You haven't seen any in person, and what exactly they do to stop these digimon is unknown to you and is something the UN has kept close to its chest thus far.
  51.
  52. The story begins when your characters receive an alert on their Digivices unlike any they've ever seen before; this one is stronger than the ones you've been fighting until now.
  53.
  54. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  55. - Be on time. If you can't be on time, don't bother.
  56. - Be available. If you can't make it every week, don't bother joining. Exceptions can be made for extrenious circumstances such as a trip to the ER, a death in the family, a funeral, a wedding, or a last-minute call from your boss.
  57. - Be informative. If something important does come up that requires you to miss a session, try to let me know at least a day in advance. If you can't make the full day, drop in and say SOMETHING before you head out and before the game start time - even if I'm not around, I'll see it when I am and can plan accordingly.
  58. - Be polite. I don't appreciate drama. If you can't play nice, don't play at all.
  59. - Be ready to roleplay. This isn't just going to be your standard 5e murderhobo loot and shoot. I'm not expecting a degree in theater, but I am expecting your best attempt. You don't have to be perfect - but you do have to try.
  60. - Be apolitical. I'm not saying you can't make an edgy joke now and then, but don't go full ORANGE MAN BAD or give me a 3 hour lecture on why communism has never worked and will never work. I don't care, nobody else cares, we aren't here for debate club, we're here for Digimon. If you're assuming something that I've put in the game is political, you're overthinking it and it was a coincidence and you need to not read so much into everything.
  61. - Have fun. We're not here to crunch numbers or be too serious. A bit of goofiness is fine, but know when to draw the line. The setting itself is serious, and it's meant to be taken seriously, but a bit of humor is always a good thing. That means, for the love of god, don't spew pop culture references and memes in-character constantly.
  62. - Be Considerate. I'm not asking you to censor yourself, and I expect everyone to have thick enough skin to just laugh awkwardly at any joke they find distasteful, crude, or offensive. But there's edgy, and then there's just trying to get a rise out of people. No, going around making rape jokes or talking about stabbing people isn't funny, it's just edgy tripe.
