  1. Real Name: Tataka Rachi
  2. Real Talent: Ultimate Markswoman
  3. Backstory:
  4. About 14 years ago, a toddler known as Tataka Rachi was kidnapped by an unknown culprit. A ransom was requested but Tataka’s family was incredibly poor and could not pay. So instead, the 2 year old girl was sold to the terrorist organization Aleph. Tataka herself does not remember any of these events; her first memory was within Aleph.
  5.
  6. In the terrorist organization, Tataka was trained as a killer. She was meant to kill without compassion, emotions, or hesitation. While she never knew any of the reasons she killed, Tataka realized she had no choice but to oblige. Otherwise, she was risking her life. Thus, she trained and trained. Her strength and agility increased steadily and she became a good fighter, but her true skill lied in staying away from her opponents: she was incredibly adept at handling guns, rifles, and even bows, and Aleph recognized and developed this talent. As time went on, Tataka became more and more like a killing machine than a person as Aleph suppressed her emotions as much as possible.
  7.
  8. Most of the time, Tataka’s tasks consisted of killing a certain high-importance target: the boss of a company that opposed Aleph, a high-ranking official, or someone that had made significant progress towards disbanding the organization. She never cared what the reasons were. She killed who she was told to kill without doubt and never missed her mark. She had her orders and carried them out, all just to survive. Besides, she had nowhere else to go; all she could remember was killing for Aleph. So she kept it up for year after year. That is, until she got a certain target: a girl that had hacked into Aleph’s network, Haira Mitsukeru.
  9.
  10. Once more, Tataka got her target. As always, she went to the coordinates she got and got into position. There, she looked at the picture she got for the first time to line up her shot… but what she saw was no man or woman. It was no big boss. It was no official. It was just a girl her age behind a computer. She looked through the scope of her rifle… and found the girl. Smiling. Just working on a computer. And for the first time, Tataka hesitated. Was this girl a threat? Did she really have to die? What did she do? What could she have done? Tataka had no idea… and the little seed of doubt that had been planted in her mind grew and grew to a big decision.
  11.
  12. Instead of pulling the trigger and killing Haira, Tataka put her rifle away and started going towards the girl’s house. Thanks to her years and years of training, sneaking in was not an issue, and suddenly, the two girls were face to face. Haira was, understandably, extremely confused, but Tataka didn’t notice or care. She quickly started explaining that she was from Aleph, that they wanted Haira dead, and that Tataka was tasked with killing her. However, she also explained that she couldn’t do it, for whatever reason. She gave Haira two options: either she dies here, Tataka returns to Aleph, task now complete, and keeps living her life, or the two of them start over. Haira would have to use her clear skill in hacking to completely erase all records of the girls, they’d take on new names, and do everything they can to stay hidden from Aleph. Tataka was aware of the risks, since the terrorist organization would certainly want her dead as well, but still offered these options. Haira’s choice was quick and decisive. She agreed to start over with Tataka and quickly got to work to erase their existence. And thus, the girls known as Tataka Rachi and Haira Mitsukeru disappeared.
  13.
  14. The two girls took on the names of Hososha and Gisei Atarashi. They went with the story that they were twin sisters with a talent for music, which they did have. They went from street corner to bar to restaurant, just to gather enough money to survive. After every performance, they went back into hiding; they never play at the same place twice and never stick around anywhere for very long. They don’t tell anything to anyone, their payments are all in cash, and absolutely nothing they do is recorded. All this is to hide from Aleph.
  15.
  16. After about a year, Hope’s Peak Academy somehow found out about the two, and managed to get a letter through to Tataka. She was dumbstruck and confused, felt like their safety had been compromised, and did not want to go. However, Haira pressured Tataka into joining with her, with lots of begging and whining. Eventually, Tataka agreed, but only under their fake names and the fake talents of Ultimate Drummer and Singer.
