- Alexithymiaa: -Brad had really taken this nap day to heart and therefore had been napping since he got home from class today with was literally like 6 hours ago. He was completely passed out in his bed, face down into the pillow and out so hard that he was drooling all over his pillow.-
- Covet: Kelsey had taken care of Connor most of the evening since Brad was clearly enjoying some holiday or another, she kind of worried that he was sick, but he didn't seem sick. Once Connor was in bed she made her way over to Bradley's dorm and let herself in. She walked over to the bed and looked down at him the quickly pulled his pillow out from under his head and brought it back down on his head, wetside down on his face. "Good morning sunshine"
- Alexithymiaa: -His face scrunched up at the swift motion, squeezing his eyes shut tighter and bringing his hands up to his face to cover it, a groan escaping his lips as he mumbled incoherantly. "Whaaaat are yhou what?"-
- Covet: Kelsey couldn't help but laugh at his immediate confusion. "Or should I say Moonbeam with as late as you're napping?"
- AlexithymiaaAlexithymiaa : -He rubbed his eyes with his fingers, slowly prying them open to squint at her, his brain still slow and groggy. "What are you talking about?" He asked in complete confusion, his eyes starting to adjust as he just stared at her.-
- Covet: "Connor is already in bed right now. Which means you've practically slept through dinner, Are you feeling alright?" She asked him
- AlexithymiaaAlexithymiaa : "What time is it?" He asked as he tried to look at the clock under the tv, but his eyes were still a little sleep ridden. "Yeah, just tired. I've been busy lately. And it was nap day."-
- Covet: "Nap day? Is that something like cheat days during dieting?" She asked him. "It's late, like just past Connor's bedtime late."
- AlexithymiaaAlexithymiaa : "It's like International Nap Day or something like that. I dont know, I saw it trending online somewhere. I figured it was a good reason to relax a little with how tired I was." He said with a shrug, moving his hand to his head to adjust his beanie which was all askew.-
- Covet: "As if you needed an official excuse. Why are you so tired though?" She asked him furrowing her brow. "I didn't realize how busy you've been lately, outside the normal stuff."
- Alexithymiaa: -He gave a shrug, opening his mouth to yawn. "I'm always tired. I just normally dont have the kind of time to nap and catch up on sleep, but my schedule was kind of light today. So why not?"-
- Covet: "Fair enough. I wish I had time to enjoy international nap day." She said with a pout, after sitting on the edge of his bed with him.
- Alexithymiaa: "What did you do today that you couldnt fit in at least a little power nap?" He asked with furrowed brows, watching her face because he just couldnt imagine not having 30 minutes to spare for a short nap.-
- Covet: "Classes, lunch meeting at the studio, Rehersal practice, Taking care of Connor, speaking of... we need to figure out what we're doing for him this weekend too." She said giving Brad a look.
- Alexithymiaa: "Like as far as a party goes, or a gift?" He asked quickly, scratching at his chest. "I already bought him a gift. Well... I ordered it. It's not here yet. Did you have anything in mind for some sort of party?"-
- Covet: "Not really, I know last year we went to Knotts with Katey and Ozzy, so I don't really know how to top that, other than him asking about Disneyland last week." She said. "I've got him a few things that he needs, like some new clothes. I swear he's gotten two inches taller in the last month. "
- Alexithymiaa: "Boys grow fast. It's what we do. Before you know it, he's going to be six feet tall." He said with a grin. "I dont know if we should take him to Disneyland. I feel like we take him everywhere all the time. We should try to do something equally fun, that's local. Maybe a little bit more grounding?"-
- Covet: "Don't tell me that, I'm already trying to properly budget for his future wardrobe enough as is." She said with a laugh, "Yeah, maybe... that's completely oposite of what I was thinking, I was thinking we bail on Disneyland and go straight to Disney World. But that's just me. Don't tell him it's grounding or he's going to think he is trouble for his birthday."
- Alexithymiaa: "I dont mean ground him, I mean like... leveling out. We've been all over the place with him lately and I think he's getting a little too used to being given whatever he wants for no real reason. A lot of it can't be avoided, but he should get to have a normal kid's sixth birthday. He'd probably flip for like laser tag just as much."-
- Covet: "I know that, but he doesn't" Kelsey said with a laugh. "True, but I think... going to places and doing those sorts of things could be grounding if we make it that way. Instead of going somewhere fun, just us, we could reach out and do something charity wise?"
- Alexithymiaa: -He rubbed his hand over his face, exhaling deeply. "You're going to make the kid do charity to celebrate his birthday? I just meant don't go anywhere you need a plane ticket for, I didnt mean punish him and tell him he can't have fun with his friends for his birthday."-
- Covet: " There are fun things we can do for charity, that we can have other people do too." Kelsey said with a pout. "We just haven't been anywhere together as a family in a while, so I thought maybe getting away could be fun...."
- Alexithymiaa: "We literally just took him to New York for New Years. That was only a few months ago." He snorted, rolling his eyes.-
- Covet: "Yeah but that was more out of convenience than anything special. I was already going to be there, we just made it a big family event." Kelsey said looking at him. "It's not the same as a special birthday thing."
- Alexithymiaa: "It's the same to him, and that's my point. He doesn't see the difference. He just sees that he'sbeing rewarded with all this trips around the country all the time and he doesnt really have to do anything to earn it. I think in a few years that's really going to catch up to us."-
- Covet: "He knows it's different. And since when the hell did we have to EARN birthday trips? He's turning six, not sixteen." Kelsey said looking at him. "He's a good kid, he's constantly earning our praise and reward without having to be asked. That's more than most kids his age."
- Alexithymiaa: "And he gets to go all over the place just because of us and what we do. He takes like ten vacations a year." He paused, frowning. "You know how many vacations I got to go on as a kid his age? None. I didn't see my first vacation until I was twelve and we literally just drove to Pennsylvania."-
- Covet: "So because you didn't get that, means that he shouldn't either. I didn't get to go all over the place as a kid either. As for his vacations, they really aren't vacations when Holly has him doing school work and other important things. You act like he's being spoiled, and where he is privledged, due to our accomplishments, he's not spoiled rotten." Kesley said getting a little defensive.
- Alexithymiaa: "I didnt say he's spoiled rotten, but he's definitely spoiled. There's some amount of that, that can't be avoided just because he's an only child, but it also comes with the territory of your lifestyle. I just don't think we should make it worse when it IS in our hands."-
- Covet: "But he's not spoiled. He's priviledged. And the only way we teach him not to be spoiled is to show him that doing things for others is more important than for ourselves. I think I've done pretty good about keeping him well grounded up to this point. Does he ask for things, sure, but what six year old doesn't? And he doesn't throw a fit when we tell him no, he accepts it."
- Alexithymiaa: "We don't really tell him no he can't have something or do something all that often..." He started gently, trying to make his point. "We spoil him with attention just as much as material things. He doesnt have to share us with another sibling which goes a lot farther than a lot of people realize sometimes. He doesnt have to share Holly's attention. Your parents. Even if he has to do homework when we take him across the country, it's still an experience for him. I think you're missing the point that this isn't usual for a six year old."-
- Covet: "He grew up sharing attention with my little brother, when my parents were watching him. And yes, he gets spoiled with attention now, because I was here during the week, and going to school and barely got to see him in his first few years, just to make his life better. I get that's it's not usual for a six year old, but he's not your average six year old, he has a semi popular you tube series for crying out loud, and he works hard at that and his school stuff, and puts up with all of our shit, Bradley. He's not nearly out of touch as you seem to think. We don't tell him no, or he can't do something that often, because he's smart enough to know when and what he can ask for. This last week alone the only thing he wanted to do was do something nice for my Dad. He wasn't even thinking about his own birthday, he was thinking about someone else."
- Alexithymiaa: -He let out a deep breath, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees as he rubbed his face. "Alright. If this is what you really want to do, then I'll talk to Evan tomorrow about researching some flights and Disney reservations."-
- Covet: "Disney was just the initial idea, that's not really what I was considering. I was thinking we could do something down in the LA area that was hit by the fires. It would be a learning thing for him, and any friends he wants to take, and it would be good PR for all of us as a family. I want to teach him that giving back is just as important as getting anything. I want him to go through his clothes that he can't fit in or doesn't wear and we can donate them to families who've lost their homes." Kelsey said.
- Alexithymiaa: "That's not a bad idea, but I dont know how many parents are going to let us take their kids to LA without them, so either a bunch of them won't be able to come, or we're going to have some extra parents tagging along. Either way, I doubt the charity part would be the issue for any of them. You might want to start talking to some parents."-
- Covet: "I've already reached out to a couple of the ones that have brought their kids to the filming we did at the AGD house. I'm still waiting to hear back, but I've let Holly know we might have a few extra kiddos with us for the weekend." She told him then looked at Brad, "Just because our son is privledged, doesn't mean we can't use that to teach him how to be a more than decent human being."
- Alexithymiaa: "I know... I just kind of foresee all those bratty celebrity kids you see wearing Gucci and Prada and not even realizing their entire toddler outfit costs more than most people make in a year. That drives me crazy."- (The irony)
- Covet: "Yeah, no, the most expensive place I purchase his clothes at is probably Target or Macy's. And even then I shop sales. The only time he will wear Gucci or Prada at age six is if he is doing a premiere walk with us, and someone sends the clothes to be sponosred." Kelsey said. " I'm right there with you on the crazy front. He can bee fancy about that kind of stuff when he is an adult and we don't have control over his choices"
- Alexithymiaa: (I just stared at that assuming you were making a bee pun somewhere and then I realized it was just an extra E....)
- Covet: [bahahaha]
- Alexithymiaa: "Well that's different. A premiere is important. It's not wandering through the food court in the mall." He said, agreeing with her. "I need to ask Evan what he knows about the charities and volunteer work going on down in LA right now."-
- Covet: "That would be great, and appreciative." She said. then cleared her throat, "As for him growing up spoiled because there is no one to split our attention with... well... That's not really on him.. that's on us." She said as she went to stand up. "I need to go get changed for bed, but maybe we could watch something before we go to sleep?"
- Alexithymiaa: "That's why I said some of it is unavoidable." He added, leaning back against the wall behind him. "Yeah sure, why don't you think about what you want to watch and then we'll bring up Netflix and see what we've got going on."-
- Covet: "Okay sounds good. There's that new show on Netflix that's about a secret order in a college?" She said as she made her way to the door, a little sad that he was so dismissive of the suggestion she had just said, but even she knew that now was NOT a good time with a tour coming up.
