  9. Owls and a Fool Ch I Part VIII
  10. >guess who’s back
  11.
  12. >Eyeing the crew as to make sure no one is looking, Anon takes his chance to bolt into the alleyway
  13. >The air becomes noticeably stiffer as he drags himself onward
  14. >There it is again, that feeling
  15. >That rush
  16. >”...My blood’s boiling for a fight.”
  17. >The unsuspecting imp dives into another alleyway ahead, completely unaware of his demise behind him
  18. >Sights locked, Anon unsheathes his second prized assassination weapon
  19. >The edge of an Exterminator’s spear
  20. >With this, he could kill demons permanently if needed
  21. >But in cases like this, where he is facing pure amateurs, he would not need to kill them for good
  22. >Stolas gave this to Anon not long after an extermination occured
  23. >He modified it in a way so that the seraphim could be “toggled”, and fixed the hilt as to be more comfortable
  24. >The way he got this was something along the lines of…
  25. >”Anon, I wanted to give you something.”
  26. >Stolas turns around to Anon, showing him a heavenly weapon of sorts
  27. >”You’ve always been capable of defending yourself, there’s no doubt about that.”
  28. >”I’m not giving you this as your guardian, but as your father.”
  29. >”This is part of an angelic spear, one of the most powerful weapons in the nine circles.”
  30. >”I’ve made some changes here and there for you.”
  31. >Stolas hands Anon the “broken” spear with care
  32. >”The seraphim can be activated when you say ‘Zaštiti me’, which translates to ‘protect me’.”
  33. >”It will deactivate when you say ‘Gratias tibi.’ which translates to ‘thank you’.”
  34. >Stolas holds an almost scolding finger, as to warn Anon
  35. >”But do understand that you activate the seraphim in emergencies ONLY.”
  36. >”If I catch you using this for any other reason, I’ll be quick to take it back.”
  37. >”Do I make myself clear?”
  38. >Anon gives an affirming nod
  39. >”Crystal.”
  40. >With the memory fresh in his mind, Anon continues following his target into the growing darkness, ready to strike

  43.
  44. >He has no idea
  45. >Anon kneels down on the ground and gives the imp two pats on the side
  46. >”Wh-”
  47. >Before he can turn around, the imp’s stomach has already been cut through by the spear
  48. >Anon yanks out the spear from the other side with his left hand, and holds his right arm around the struggling imp’s neck with a choke hold
  49. >The assassination is completed by a harsh snap of the neck, with the imp falling to the ground silently
  50. >Shit that felt good
  51. >Like, REALLY good
  52. >Anon hasn’t had a kill like that for a while, and damn was it satisfying
  53. >May have been a little bloody, but hey, bonus brutality points right?
  54. >”Can’t stay here, gotta keep moving.”
  55. >Climbing up to one of the stand’s roofs and out of the alleyway, Anon surveys the area for another target
  56. >One looks like they’re making their way to Stolas
  57. >Maybe a ranged kill this time, for practice?
  58. >Aiming for the heart, Anon hurls the spear to his victim
  59. >It flies through the assassin’s throat
  60. >Eh, at least they still died-
  61. >BANG!
  62. >A quick look behind shows a scattering group of imps, one dead on the ground
  63. >Looks like Blitzo took that shot, damn he’s good
  64. >Anon gives a thumbs up as to say “Good shot bro”
  65. >Blitzo gives a sht-eating prideful grin in response
  66. >He’s pretty capable, especially for an imp
  67. >It’d be good to talk to him sometime
  68. >Anon sees a tied up Stolas, as well as Octavia and Blitzo enter the circus
  69. >The circus, as well as the star Robo Fizz have never felt nostalgic
  70. >It’s only been talked about on rare occasions with Ock
  71. >Apparently this thing was scary as hell for her and it’s not something she’s fond of remembering
  72. >Anon initially wants to intervene, but decides to trust Stolas in taking care of her
  73. >He can take care of them, don’t know about the other two
  74. >When they’re found, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to talk to Moxxie
  75. >His knowledge of weapons seems like a good way to have a genuine conversation
  76. -----

  78.
  79. >Anon approaches Moxxie and Millie visibly as to not startle them
  80. >It looked like Moxxie was trying to win a prize for his wife
  81. >And was failing miserably
  82. >To the point where it was getting sad, honestly
  83. >”Hey, Moxxie! Need some extra cash!”
  84. >”Oh no, but thank you your h-”
  85. >”-Anon.”
  86. >The imp corrects himself as he remembers the lack of needed formality for Anon
  87. >He also takes notice of the sidearm on his holster
  88. >”Hey, Anon!”
  89. >”Yeah, what’s up?”
  90. >”I haven’t seen a pistol quite like yours before. What is it?”
  91. >Finally, a real conversation!
  92. >”Oh, this?”
  93. >Anon unholsters his sidearm and shows it off in different angles
  94. >”It’s a .22 Ruger Mark IV. This here’s easy to wield and has the lowest recoil for any weapon I’ve seen.”
  95. >Moxxie’s eyes shine a little bit, fascinated by Anon’s weapon
  96. >”The compensator takes even more recoil off, it’s like there’s nothing there.”
  97. >”Only problem is that the bullets are kind of small, so you gotta make sure your shots hit right in the heart or the head every time you’re looking for a killshot.”
  98. >His tail begins to wag a little bit in wonderment
  99. >”What do you use, Moxxie?”
  100. >”Oh! Well, I don’t stick to a single one. As the weapons expert of I.M.P. I understand all of the ins and outs of every type of firearm! The best for this situation would be the-”
  101. >Anon starts tuning Moxxie out as he more than proves his expertise
  102. >Even if he was droning on, it was nice to see someone as passionate about what they do as Moxxie was
  103. >”Moxxie.”
  104. >The imp stutters with the interruption, embarrassed with himself
  105. >”Oh- I-I’m sorry, Anon!”
  106. >Anon gives a warm smile in return
  107. >”No worries, Moxxie.”
  108. >He’s already the prime candidate for a friend
  109. >”Tell you what. I’ve got an old shooting range in the back of our estate, did you two wanna come?”
  110. >”I’ll let you try out the Ruger.”
  111. >Moxxie leaps with joy at the offer
  112. >”ABSOLUTELY!”
  113. -
  114. Should probably have mentioned this at the beginning, but this sht's gonna be LONG. I'm talking a few tens of thousands of words in greentext format alone.
