  1. LAR Duty Quest Fork Information (starting from "Find the entrance to the mines" task in Darkscape):

  3. -Once you get knocked out in the mines and talk to Veles he gives the download module and no longer takes your gear. I felt this was unnecessary, why would he take your gear only to give you back similar gear (i.e. player most likely is wearing bandit armor or lower end armor at this point).

  5. -The two quests given by Veles will now fail if you become hostile towards a sin member after speaking to him.

  7. -Once you get into Darkvalley by following the map pin, Petrenko will message about saving a duty member. This is where the Duty quest starts now and makes sense... Petrenko mentions to talk to Voronin afterwards if you decide to save him.

  9. -Your diary has an entry about a choice being made.

  11. -If you rescue the duty member, this is the function that opens up the join duty quest with Voronin. The captive Duty member will thank you and tell you again to speak to Voronin.

  13. -If player chooses not to rescue captive Duty member, then the Duty fork will not open and you can continue as a loner.

  15. -You can still go to X18 if you want to get docs, etc as well for Veles if you want.

  17. -Go to Voronin before or after X18, your choice. Once at Voronin, he will thank you for rescuing the duty member and give you a task to go to Rostok Factory to deliver supplies to prove your worth. Go back to Voronin when done, this will open up the dialog to officially join. You can choose to join or not in the text. If you join, you will be hostile to Sin and other factions based off relations (except if vital to story, i.e. visiting mercs in DC for Sakharov).

  19. -Once you join, the second quest offered is to go to construction site. In original DC, this quest was totally messed up and was near impossible. When you get to construction go to the point on the map, there will be some Duty members standing around. There used to be 3 Chimeras that spawned there. It was near impossible to kill all of them, without them killing the duty squad almost instantly and failing the quest. I removed the chimeras; I have a little explanation in the text as to why the Duty members are standing there now.
  20. Talk to the captain, he will give you a little background on what’s happening, then he will send you to another location on construction to rescue a couple other Duty members.

  22. -For this portion, I had to make the 2 NPC’s invulnerable, I normally don’t like doing that, but in order to pass the quest it was really the only option. There is a small burer that appears, he would kill the 2 wounded duty members before you could even get there. So now that they are invulnerable, you can help them. The pop up after helping them says go see the captain, then Voronin.

  24. -Go back to the captain, he then tells you to go Voronin to finish the quest.

  26. -Voronin will then send you to Yantar to help the Duty squad there. Not much changed here, just some text edits. Meet Greben, he will task you with killing some bandits and also offer a side quest of his own.

  28. -Once you finish the quest, go back to Voronin. Voronin will then start the final quest of meeting the Sin informer. Not too much changed here either, I lowered the artifact rarity to a jellyfish to give the informant rather than a goldfish which the player may not have yet. Also some text changes… Once the informant is dead, get the first disc off of him. You will meet up with another Duty strike force to raid the mines then.

  30. -Go back to Voronin to end the main Duty quest fork.
