  64. <Skeleton> hi
  65. <Arkay> sorry for the delayyyy
  66. <CommodoreJim> (he's not sorry)
  67. <Skeleton> He's not? How shameful.
  68. <CommodoreJim> "Drominus has mastered the ability to make salamanders appear from nowhere. Lamentably, Drominus becomes unlucky in the presence of diamond."
  69. <Skeleton> "Freddie has the power to make duplicates of himself. Tragically, Freddie is handicapped by being tired."
  70. <~flibbyjibbits> close
  71. <CommodoreJim> "Rakkor has mastered the ability to cause his adversaries to become rigidly inflexible. Tragically, Rakkor is deathly afraid of sheep."
  72. <Fishfosh> Pikkupstix developed the talent to spin like a whirlwind. Unfortunately, Pikkupstix is especially vulnerable to dust-based attacks.
  73. <Moonside> Lotte developed the talent to confuse the smell of an assailant. Tragically, Lotte has a weakness of being slow.
  74. <~flibbyjibbits> im gonna go to the bathroom or whatever you can start without me where you elft off
  75. <Skeleton> Freddie elft off every day
  76. <Fishfosh> tmi
  77. <Moonside> I think we had just finished doing everything in the place
  78. <Fishfosh> "Pikkupstix has a reputation for an awesome charisma. Shamefully, Pikkupstix is deathly afraid of plants." ...half-true
  79. <Skeleton> Pikkup's afraid of plants?
  80. <Fishfosh> no
  81. <CommodoreJim> "Drominus has the power to become gigantic. Tragically, Drominus takes harm from exposure to cloth."
  82. <Fishfosh> must be why he only wears metal
  83. <Skeleton> "Warty Morty has learned to deflect flame. Sadly, Warty Morty is handicapped by being homeless."
  84. <~flibbyjibbits> ok back
  85. <Fishfosh> "Ekans has a marvelous proficiency at driving. Shamefully, Ekans becomes completely incapable of repairing stuff in the presence of glass."
  86. <Skeleton> I demand immunity to fire on account of my homeless familiar
  87. <~flibbyjibbits> i see you have made plenty of progress
  88. <Fishfosh> yep
  89. <Arkay> what was the last thing we did anyway
  90. <Arkay> I remember drinking from the fountain
  91. <~flibbyjibbits> that was the last thing
  92. <~flibbyjibbits> and thens eeing the tower was missing
  93. <Arkay> a'ight
  94. <Fishfosh> Yeah, so what's left to do besides leave I guess
  95. <~flibbyjibbits> nothin much unless talking or anything but that can be done while traveling
  96. <~flibbyjibbits> do we have a rollbot tonight or should i use myown dice
  97. <Skeleton> Oh
  98. * BonBonne ([email protected]) has joined #adventure
  99. <BonBonne> Babbu
  100. <CommodoreJim> precious babbu
  101. <~flibbyjibbits> !roll 1 20
  102. <BonBonne> flibbyjibbits rolled 20-sided die number 1 of 1: Result 5
  103. <CommodoreJim> "Telmar's Door Fucking Machine has learned to take control of vibrations and bend it to his will. Tragically, Telmar's Door Fucking Machine takes harm from exposure to cloth."
  104. <Arkay> jim omg
  105. <~flibbyjibbits> well i guess it is sort of vibrations
  106. <~flibbyjibbits> anyways assuming you have no particular desire to do anything else in that town
  107. <~flibbyjibbits> or island
  108. <~flibbyjibbits> or country
  109. <~flibbyjibbits> and want to just keep going towards whereever
  110. <~flibbyjibbits> where do you even want to go
  111. <CommodoreJim> didn't we leave some sort of nightmare abomination in a windmill somewhere
  112. <~flibbyjibbits> nothing important or of any real note happens at all on the way back to the port, it is snowing lightly, in the far off distance you see one or two of those masked people watching way far away
  113. <Fishfosh> What masked people?
  114. <~flibbyjibbits> the organization i forget the name of or maybe never named, there was a similar mask hung on the wall at the drug dealers house, youve seen a handful of them always watching from really far away
  115. <Fishfosh> oh
  116. <Fishfosh> I do not recall that last detail
  117. <Fishfosh> creepy
  118. <Moonside> Yeah, you never mentioned that before.
  119. <Moonside> Anyway, let's go to the other place with the windmill yes.
  120. <Fishfosh> First we need to stop in Rakor to get paid for our latest job
  121. <~flibbyjibbits> maybe i never mentioned it before since the rolls never worked out that you saw them
  122. <~flibbyjibbits> cant recall
  123. <Fishfosh> And then probably stop working for Telmar because most of the party hates him
  124. <Moonside> are they those guy from fringe
  125. <Arkay> weren't fish and I thinking about swapping characters for new ones eventually?
  126. <~flibbyjibbits> right yes you were
  127. <Fishfosh> Oh wait, before leaving the port is it possible to send a message ahead of time saying that we completed the job?
  128. <CommodoreJim> Drom becomes a loose cannon knight
  129. <~flibbyjibbits> yes it is
  130. <~flibbyjibbits> if you can tell me a bit about the characters we can figure out a way to work them in or whatever
  131. <Arkay> (although I haven't rolled anything yet whoops)
  132. <Fishfosh> Then Pikkup will do so
  133. <Moonside> On the way back, Elsa seems to be really sad (or as sad as she can look with her helmet on).
  134. <Fishfosh> I haven't actually started the sheet because I had a super busy week
  135. <CommodoreJim> Is she like Drom, who emotes with glowy eyes
  136. <Moonside> Nah, she doesn't have emotes.
  137. <Moonside> Elsa is srs biznss
  138. <~flibbyjibbits> http://gyazo.com/18a53a78e0fb08f62e08cad7c5815dd3 the journey
  139. <Fishfosh> Nothing else anyone wanted to do?
  140. <Skeleton> Freddie is totes mellow
  141. <Fishfosh> Pikkup is lost in thought much of the time
  142. * Eltrotraw ([email protected]) Quit (Ping timeout)
  143. <Moonside> That fountain didn't do anyone any good it seems.
  144. <~flibbyjibbits> i dont think anyone was really happy about what they saw
  145. <CommodoreJim> Drom is not happy.
  146. <CommodoreJim> Also he's still worried about that NIGHTMARE CREATURE he never hunted down
  147. <Moonside> So, do we arrive on Rakor?
  148. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess so yeah sure
  149. <~flibbyjibbits> everyone sitting sulkily silent the entire several day trip
  150. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess someone would probably head over the ellys house pretty soon after arriving back but its been quarantined
  151. <CommodoreJim> what
  152. <Moonside> Elsa would, yeah.
  153. <~flibbyjibbits> boarded up the doors and windows with warning signs
  154. <CommodoreJim> So would Drom
  155. <Moonside> "...what? What is this?!" Elsa starts freaking out a little.
  156. <Skeleton> Our new home base
  157. <Skeleton> "Uhh?"
  158. <~flibbyjibbits> the sign says that there was a case of a rare disease inside
  159. <CommodoreJim> "...what's going on? What's. Going on."
  160. <~flibbyjibbits> inhabitants have been relocated to a plague asylum in sparona
  161. <~flibbyjibbits> a few other buildings in the city have also been marked with it too
  162. <Moonside> Does it say so in the signs?
  163. <~flibbyjibbits> yes
  164. <Skeleton> "..."
  165. * Fishfosh2 ([email protected]) has joined #adventure
  166. <Moonside> Elsa is clearly a lot more agitated than usual. "We... we have to go there! Elizabeth and Charlotte might... I..."
  167. <~flibbyjibbits> its not just her house theres a bunch with the same signs and stuff. in some poorer ares they just fenced off the place but who cares about a kobold neighborhood
  168. * Fishfosh ([email protected]) Quit (Killed (NickServ (GHOST command used by Fishfosh2)))
  169. * Fishfosh2 is now known as Fishfosh
  170. <~flibbyjibbits> !roll 1 20
  171. <BonBonne> flibbyjibbits rolled 20-sided die number 1 of 1: Result 13
  172. <Fishfosh> wassat?
  173. <~flibbyjibbits> nothing to worry about
  174. <Fishfosh> ...k
  175. <Skeleton> Oh I'm worried about it!
  176. <CommodoreJim> Drom is very clearly upset, as can be seen from his glowy eye emotes
  177. <Skeleton> 'Hours till everyone infected dies'
  178. <Skeleton> 'no, not dies, becomes a zombie'
  179. <Skeleton> 'or both.'
  180. <Fishfosh> Pikkupstix is generally not happy to see a large amount of suffering, especially when it involves people he considered to be friends
  181. <Fishfosh> such is the case now
  182. <Fishfosh> Everything sucks
  183. <CommodoreJim> "How could this have happened...?"
  184. <~flibbyjibbits> about an hour after youve gotten back to the city a courier from the castle pops by each person if theyd split up or just one to the group if youve stuck together by then, with a bag of value
  185. <Skeleton> "How long were we even gone...?"
  186. <~flibbyjibbits> 2 or 3 weeks
  187. <~flibbyjibbits> oh eyah its probably like late december now huh
  188. <~flibbyjibbits> or mid december
  189. <~flibbyjibbits> adjust your mental images of the scene appropriately
  190. <Skeleton> Oh no, christmas episode
  191. <Fishfosh> Do we get to be stop-motion animated?
  192. <Moonside> Elsa seems to have calmed down enough to think clearly, though she's still upset. "Perhaps... that curse that had been inflicted on Charlotte? But no, I... wait, Telmar. Telmar... he should know. And you most likely should talk to him about your mission, regardless."
  193. <Skeleton> How The Telmar Stole Christmas
  194. <CommodoreJim> "Telmar...." Drom's voice is sort of like the hiss of dry ice. Man he hates that guy
  195. <Skeleton> "Who wants to bet this was his fault?"
  196. <Fishfosh> Anyway, bag of value what?
  197. <~flibbyjibbits> the bag of value that the courier brought (the exact specifics of what type of value ie gems notes coins etc is up to you) of 6000 gold each
  198. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess that job was important to him
  199. <Fishfosh> I guess so
  200. <Moonside> That's a lot of money.
  201. <Skeleton> Hey Drom where do you get the MOENY for all these AXES
  202. <Fishfosh> We did sorta deliver an entire tower
  203. <~flibbyjibbits> the courier also has a letter
  204. <CommodoreJim> Drom reads letter
  205. <Skeleton> J
  206. <Fishfosh> This money is brought to you by the letter T, for Telmar
  207. <~flibbyjibbits> basically says that the castle is closed off to visitors to keep clean, a pamphlet on basic plague avoidal procedures, what to do if you suspect someone has it (lock them somewhere and call the cops), and he says he doesn't have anything for you to do right now since the government resources are on containment right now and thats not a thing that blades and lightning can do
  208. <Fishfosh> nonsense
  209. <Moonside> Else clearly gets a lot angrier upon hearing that, but tries to keep her composure.
  210. <Fishfosh> We shall FIGHT this plague!
  211. <Fishfosh> With VIOLENCE!
  212. <CommodoreJim> Drom crumples the letter after reading it.
  213. <Fishfosh> I cast Charm Monster on the virus
  214. <CommodoreJim> (His eye lights flash red)
  215. <Moonside> "Drominus... we have yet to destroy the wraith plaguing your dreams. Shall we go do that next, or proceed to Sparona?"
  216. <~flibbyjibbits> viruses are mindless and thus unaffected by charms
  217. <Fishfosh> poo
  218. <Fishfosh> "I vote we find somewhere with less plague and more giant monsters."
  219. <CommodoreJim> Drom is still very, very not happy right now. "...I suppose it's my responsibility to take care of the monster born from my mind. I've let it be for too long."
  220. <Moonside> What time is it?
  221. <Skeleton> #adventure time
  222. <Moonside> derp
  223. <~flibbyjibbits> iunno i guess mid day ish
  224. <~flibbyjibbits> makes no difference to me so whatever is convinient
  225. <Moonside> "Very well, then. We leave tomorrow. Use today to make whichever preparations are necessary."
  226. <Fishfosh> "I suppose that's close enough."
  227. <Fishfosh> "I suggest shopping."
  228. <Skeleton> "We just got paid a crazy amount of cash... I could get an expensive three- or four-piece suit and a matching one for Warty Morty with this kind of dough"
  229. <Moonside> "...do whatever you wish. We shall meet in this place tomorrow." She then leaves to do her own shopping.
  230. <Moonside> Ok so I'd like to put magics on armor
  231. <~flibbyjibbits> k
  232. <Moonside> The way enhancement bonuses work is a bit confusing though http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-armor
  233. <Moonside> It seems like, armor can have a total of +10 bonus, but the effective bonus that adds to AC can only go up to +5
  234. <~flibbyjibbits> a +10 armor means up to +5 ac bonus and then the rest is other effects
  235. <~flibbyjibbits> like +5 with SR19
  236. <Moonside> Hmm.
  237. <Moonside> Ok so what are the exact prices for increasing the bonus for a certain amount
  238. <Moonside> There's a table there but I think it just refers to how much an armor that already has those bonuses would cost
  239. <~flibbyjibbits> increasing the bonus is just the difference bwteen what it is now and what its going to be
  240. <Moonside> Hmm, alright, so let's see
  241. <Moonside> So if I add a +1 bonus and the Champion ability (which counts as +1), it'd total to +2 and cost 4k total
  242. <~flibbyjibbits> yes
  243. <~flibbyjibbits> if its nonmagical righyt now
  244. <~flibbyjibbits> and its masterwork
  245. <Moonside> Yeah, it's masterwork.
  246. <Moonside> Ok then, I think I'll go with that. I find some wizard in town or something to do that for me.
  247. <Moonside> That's pretty much it.
  248. <CommodoreJim> drom will commission a dark and brooding suit of armor
  249. <Arkay> I'm not looking for anything
  250. <Skeleton> What even do I spend money on
  251. <Skeleton> Oh right, booze
  252. <~flibbyjibbits> theres nt much for caster equipment beyond armor magic gear
  253. <Fishfosh> Wait, I can afford an Eidolon Anchoring Harness
  254. <Fishfosh> lets me expend Summon Monster uses to prevent Ekans from being removed from the material plane
  255. <Moonside> Man, magical weapons are fucking expensive.
  256. <Fishfosh> could be useful
  257. <CommodoreJim> http://i.imgur.com/TSuwzUN.jpg drom's new look
  258. <Moonside> dark and edgy
  259. <Skeleton> evil and gay
  260. <Moonside> But yeah +1 for armor is 1000, +2 is 4000... for weapons it's 2000 and 8000
  261. <Fishfosh> hmm
  262. <~flibbyjibbits> im gonna go throw in some laundry
  263. <~flibbyjibbits> since i just remembered i need to do that
  264. <CommodoreJim> http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080204193612/fireemblem/images/a/a7/Ferd-black-knight.jpg OR MAYBE?
  265. <Fishfosh> I dunno, maybe I'll just do something more fun like a flaming crossbow
  266. <CommodoreJim> Even has chest wound in the right place!!!
  267. <Fishfosh> But his new armor wouldn't keep the old one's chest-area damage
  268. <Skeleton> Our armor is custom-made to feature scars you received in battles prior to buying our armor
  269. <Fishfosh> unless he bought it used like that
  270. <CommodoreJim> nah see drom is a chest wound magnet
  271. <CommodoreJim> he'll get one there eventually
  272. <Moonside> wasn't that for glorus devanum
  273. <CommodoreJim> Yeah, t'was.
  274. <~flibbyjibbits> bought used from alternate future
  275. <Moonside> Anyway, people are going to shop orrr
  276. <CommodoreJim> Trying to decide what I'd want, if anything
  277. <~flibbyjibbits> kback
  278. <Moonside> magic armor would be good if you don't have any bonuses yet
  279. <Fishfosh> Drom should buy an intelligent, talking suit of armor
  280. <CommodoreJim> gay
  281. <CommodoreJim> drom would be inside of it
  282. <Skeleton> voiced by Eddie Murphy
  283. <CommodoreJim> how to magic armor
  284. <Fishfosh> Hey, how much does it cost to buy a house?
  285. <Moonside> I was just talking about it with flib, dude
  286. <Moonside> But anyway http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-armor
  287. <Arkay> actually somewhere to live would make sense for raynar too
  288. <~flibbyjibbits> buying a house and renting an apartment have a much different price range
  289. <Moonside> Magic armor can have bonuses of up to +10. 5 of that can be enhancement bonuses that add to AC. Or you can use those bonuses to put special abilities on the armor
  290. <Arkay> but i have no clue about either
  291. <Fishfosh> I'm talking owning a house
  292. <CommodoreJim> can i make it have a radiant glow
  293. <Moonside> Each ability has a certain cost, like some count as +1, others as +2, etc.
  294. <CommodoreJim> that changes color with emotions
  295. <CommodoreJim> mood ring the knight
  296. <CommodoreJim> do not steal
  297. <Moonside> There's an ability that makes it glow brightly
  298. <Fishfosh> As a player party, we should pool all of our resources into building an awesome fort
  299. <Moonside> but it costs 7500 to add it
  300. <Arkay> i have 9925 gold
  301. <Moonside> Also, in order to have an ability on the armor, you need to have at least a +1 enhancement bonus
  302. <~flibbyjibbits> i know there re rules for it somewher
  303. <CommodoreJim> gee that would be most of my gold
  304. <CommodoreJim> but it -would- be cool....
  305. <Moonside> It's a +3 ability.
  306. <Moonside> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-armor/magic-armor-and-shield-special-abilities/radiant
  307. <CommodoreJim> gee
  308. <CommodoreJim> damn that'd be so cool
  309. <Moonside> Check the main page I linked to up there, there's a list of abilities
  310. <CommodoreJim> Yeah I'm lookin' through
  311. <Moonside> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-armor/magic-armor-and-shield-special-abilities/bitter
  312. <Moonside> There aren't as many cool abilities for armor as there are for weapons.
  313. <CommodoreJim> gee.
  314. <Fishfosh> I found prices for furniture, but nothing for houses to hold it
  315. <CommodoreJim> man radiant is so cool, that's gonna be a goal
  316. <Fishfosh> guys, it's 50,000 gp for an airship
  317. <~flibbyjibbits> d20 srd says a small house is 1000gp
  318. <~flibbyjibbits> one or two rooms with wooden walls and a thatch roof
  319. <~flibbyjibbits> http://www.d20srd.org/srd/wilderness.htm#buyingBuildings
  320. <~flibbyjibbits> theres not much variety here
  321. <Fishfosh> Gee, my last armor purchase was more expensive than a house
  322. <~flibbyjibbits> i swear there was a better thing of this somewhere
  323. <CommodoreJim> where are the damage values
  324. <CommodoreJim> for if a troll throws it
  325. <Arkay> i want a good house tho
  326. <~flibbyjibbits> theres nothing inbetween a thatched roof cottage and a mansion
  327. <Fishfosh> it says 5,000 for a "Grand House"
  328. <Fishfosh> but yeah, still a thatched roof
  329. <Moonside> guys
  330. <Moonside> a huge castle is only 1m
  331. <Moonside> we can do this
  332. <Skeleton> This is good idea
  333. <Arkay> we should make a mansion and fill it with sexy women
  334. <Skeleton> We could be the new royalty of this world
  335. <Fishfosh> hiring servants is cheap
  336. <Fishfosh> let's hire a maid
  337. <Skeleton> Hire a maid?
  338. <Skeleton> We have Raynar
  339. <Moonside> oh I just imagined Elsa in a maid costume
  340. <Moonside> She wasn't very happy about it.
  341. <CommodoreJim> it's a powerful new armor
  342. <CommodoreJim> we promise
  343. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess the rules for buying buildings arent on the srd because theyre in one of the pathfinder campaign manuals
  344. <~flibbyjibbits> kingmaker campaign
  345. <~flibbyjibbits> oh well
  346. <~flibbyjibbits> im almost certain i have rules for it somewhere
  347. <CommodoreJim> hrm, what to do for armor
  348. <~flibbyjibbits> or we could just linearly interpolate between a straw cottage and a mansion
  349. <~flibbyjibbits> i found a guide to it but its uh
  350. <~flibbyjibbits> a lot more indepth than you probably want
  351. <Moonside> I always imagined Elly's house as being better than a straw cottage
  352. <~flibbyjibbits> rules for like, how much a segment of wall of a particular material coss
  353. <Fishfosh> Adventurers shouldn't be using a mere cottage as a SECRET BASE
  354. <~flibbyjibbits> you could always do what [REDACTED] does and build a base in the dark world. cheap land costs, psudeofree labor
  355. <Fishfosh> erm, no
  356. <Moonside> but we'll turn into rabbits
  357. <Arkay> well first off
  358. <Arkay> how much do we have to spend
  359. <~flibbyjibbits> dark world is that place behind those circular doors, in case you forgot
  360. <Moonside> Each one of us got 6000
  361. <Fishfosh> I remembered
  362. <~flibbyjibbits> we can bump that up to 7 if you want
  363. <Fishfosh> I have 7376 gp
  364. <Arkay> I have 9925 gold
  365. <~flibbyjibbits> since behind overall on money
  366. <Moonside> Well that'd be cool
  367. <~flibbyjibbits> compared to what is considred normal for people of the level
  368. <Fishfosh> then we can all pool money and buy that airship!
  369. <Arkay> and then pikkup takes it for himself
  370. <Arkay> and studies monsters forever
  371. <Fishfosh> What's an adventuring party without an airship! ("But we have no crew!" "Shut up!")
  372. <Moonside> well, according to the table of character wealth/level
  373. <Moonside> 7 23,500 gp
  374. <~flibbyjibbits> only places in the world that could conceivably have an airship dock are the rakor castle, maybe moldath, definitely the spire,
  375. <Fishfosh> it's just a silly idea anyway
  376. <~flibbyjibbits> the funyn thing is the fastest way to get between cities probably actually is cutting through the dark world
  377. <~flibbyjibbits> fastest and safe being independent variables
  378. <Fishfosh> That sounds incredibly stupid
  379. <Moonside> Well, maybe if you're friends with Slender Galactus, it's not such a bad idea
  380. <~flibbyjibbits> ralan does it but he doesnt have any reason to be afraid of anything at all
  381. <Moonside> is he level 20
  382. <Fishfosh> Anyway, all in all I don't think I have anything to buy right now
  383. <~flibbyjibbits> hes a level 15 inquisitor
  384. <Moonside> Well, 15 is pretty high too I guess
  385. <~flibbyjibbits> equipment and knowledge also matters a lot
  386. <Fishfosh> Actually, fuck it, I want a flaming enchantment for my crossbow
  387. <~flibbyjibbits> why not
  388. <Moonside> OH WAIT
  389. <Moonside> There are also these www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items
  390. <Moonside> But I'm pretty sure that they're more expensive
  391. <Fishfosh> 335 for masterwork crossbow, +2000 for flaming (counts as +1)
  392. <Moonside> To put an ability on a weapon or armor, it needs to have +1 enhancement
  393. <Moonside> So it'd be 8000 since the two together would be +2
  394. <Fishfosh> oh
  395. <Fishfosh> shit
  396. <~flibbyjibbits> lets just say he bought N bolts
  397. <~flibbyjibbits> where N is a high numbers
  398. <Moonside> isn't that what we've been doing
  399. <~flibbyjibbits> magic or alchemic bolts of fire
  400. <~flibbyjibbits> keeping the normal bow just buying like
  401. <~flibbyjibbits> a quiver of holding of flaming bolts
  402. <Fishfosh> maybe I'll just buy a +1 crossbow instead
  403. <Skeleton> Hmm. I can afford an item called the "Monkey Belt"
  404. <~flibbyjibbits> oh
  405. <~flibbyjibbits> this guide i found lists apartment prices
  406. <Skeleton> This sounds absurd.
  407. <Skeleton> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/belt-monkey
  408. <~flibbyjibbits> 6sp to 20gp per month depending on where they fall of the shitty to good scale
  409. <Fishfosh> or say fuck it and pay 8,335 for a proper flaming crossbow
  410. <Fishfosh> that's very nearly all of it but why do I care
  411. <~flibbyjibbits> didny ou want to repalce pikkup from the party anyways
  412. <Fishfosh> yes
  413. <~flibbyjibbits> so doesnt really matter how much money he has if hes leaving
  414. <Fishfosh> half of why I don't care
  415. <Fishfosh> other half being I have nothing else to spend on
  416. <Moonside> It does matter how much money your new character would have though
  417. <~flibbyjibbits> a new characters money would ne unrelated to the old one
  418. <Moonside> oh well
  419. <~flibbyjibbits> brb moving laundry to dryer
  420. <Fishfosh> So, buying that leaves me with exactly 41 gp
  421. <Fishfosh> how/when is the enhancement bonus applied? I'm looking at the rules for that and it doesn't say except that it increases AC for armor
  422. <Moonside> Enhancement bonuses are passive and always on
  423. <Fishfosh> yes, but do they apply to damage and attack rolls or just one of those?
  424. <Moonside> Except if you like, go into a place with an anti-magic field or something
  425. <Moonside> Just attack rolls, I guess, since they're added to AC.
  426. <Fishfosh> okay
  427. <Skeleton> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/e-g/gloves-magnetist-s Ooo I want magnet gloves
  428. <Skeleton> Can I obtain magnet gloves?
  429. <Moonside> I don't see why not
  430. <~flibbyjibbits> yeah sure
  431. <Skeleton> Sick
  432. <CommodoreJim> "sorry drom my hand just was suddenly pulled to your armor-clad butt"
  433. <Skeleton> Hahahahah
  434. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess since this is a wandering around buying scene the shitty wizard salesman should pop up again hmm
  435. <~flibbyjibbits> what suitably bad idea should he be selling this time
  436. <~flibbyjibbits> ah yes
  437. <Skeleton> Magic popcorn that explodes
  438. <~flibbyjibbits> armor and weapon dyes, for that evil knight look
  439. <CommodoreJim> oh boy
  440. <~flibbyjibbits> or make a weapon look magic without actually being magic
  441. <Skeleton> I can afford a Bag of Holding I too
  442. <Moonside> is he still selling potions of magic missile
  443. <Skeleton> But I probably don't really need it
  444. <~flibbyjibbits> not since all those people died
  445. <Moonside> If I run across him, I use Detect Evil on him.
  446. <Arkay> when pikkup leaves we might want a bag of holding
  447. <Fishfosh> Yeah, Pikkup's the one with the handy haversack, which he will want to keep probably
  448. <CommodoreJim> we could always use a spacious sack
  449. <~flibbyjibbits> something weird happens when your spell targets him, its like the equivalent of mental static or glitching. you manage to detect several eagles flying above the city, but get no reading from the salesman
  450. <Skeleton> If it pops everything inside is lost
  451. <Fishfosh> Pikkup ignores the magic man
  452. <~flibbyjibbits> detect evil->detect eagle
  453. <CommodoreJim> ahaha
  454. <Moonside> "..."
  455. <CommodoreJim> Shitty Wizard's powers know no limits
  456. <~flibbyjibbits> he actually has like an aura about him that makes magic itself incompetant
  457. <Skeleton> He's Orko
  458. <CommodoreJim> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9fzFlHlqIo Shitty Wizard's theme
  459. <~flibbyjibbits> oh yeah hes also probably got some varierty of anti plague charms or rubs or oils or something
  460. <Skeleton> gross
  461. <~flibbyjibbits> shouting to the crowd something like RUB THIS GEN UU INE UNICORN LEGHAIR ON YOUR NOSE TO AVOID INHALIN ANY PLAGUE
  462. <Fishfosh> it's probably his own leghair
  463. <~flibbyjibbits> "liven up your sexlife by grinding up and ssnorting these dragon crotchscales"
  464. <Fishfosh> ...no
  465. <Skeleton> oh lawdy
  466. <~flibbyjibbits> the actual dragon he knows probably didnt agree to that, so these are probably just like, a cut up turtle shell
  467. <~flibbyjibbits> anyways
  468. <~flibbyjibbits> i assume nobody wants to buy anything from him since they already fell for that once
  469. <~flibbyjibbits> though freddie still has the scroll
  470. <~flibbyjibbits> probably afraid to use that huh
  471. <Skeleton> Or waiting for a most opportune time
  472. <Moonside> Anyone else buying anything?
  473. <~flibbyjibbits> its probably obvious enough what it will do
  474. <Fishfosh> Did drom buy armor yet?
  475. <Skeleton> Better
  476. <Skeleton> He volunteered for an unapproved experimental magic procedure
  477. <Skeleton> Now he IS armor
  478. <~flibbyjibbits> he can figure that out as we go and say he bought it retroactively
  479. <Skeleton> And he got paid for it!
  480. <Fishfosh> okay
  481. <CommodoreJim> Yeah I'm still trying to figure that out
  482. <~flibbyjibbits> so which route seems better, take the road south as if heading towards sparona then cut east; take the road east towards moldath than head south, or go straight and pass through the big nasty swamp
  483. <Moonside> I guess the first
  484. <~flibbyjibbits> assuming the party was heading towards ombathu
  485. <~flibbyjibbits> which is otherwise known as the quarantined town
  486. <Moonside> We were going to the place with the windmill
  487. <~flibbyjibbits> best known for having a big windmill that a well knwon necromancer lived in hundreds of years ago, the town was fairly prosperus until recently the borders closed and they started shipping in medicine and food from elsewhere
  488. <Fishfosh> Anything but besides through the swamp sounds fine
  489. <Fishfosh> er, without the but
  490. <Fishfosh> So, the first one I guess
  491. <Moonside> Yes.
  492. <~flibbyjibbits> i cant think of anything notable thatd happen along the way
  493. <~flibbyjibbits> maybe bad dreams
  494. <Skeleton> It rains pepperoni
  495. <CommodoreJim> Where's this boat headed
  496. <CommodoreJim> HELL
  497. <Skeleton> STRRRRAIGHT TO HELL
  498. <~flibbyjibbits> ok orry been softing some stuff out and cleaning my desk a bit
  499. <~flibbyjibbits> the area around ombathu is a temperate forest, "new englandy" maybe
  500. <~flibbyjibbits> the city itself has a large wooden palisade wall around it
  501. <~flibbyjibbits> then around that is the camps set up around every gate, soldiers, traders, refugees, and medicals people
  502. <~flibbyjibbits> you arrive at about the same time as a wagen full of medical supplies
  503. <~flibbyjibbits> which is being sorted and documented by some troops by the west gate
  504. <Fishfosh> "Well, we're here."
  505. <Moonside> Can we go in
  506. <Moonside> ?
  507. <~flibbyjibbits> they seem to be fairly devoted to only letting in the people putting the supplies in but you can talk about or sneak or whatever
  508. <Moonside> I'll do a diplomacy check.
  509. <Moonside> !roll 1 20
  510. <BonBonne> Moonside rolled 20-sided die number 1 of 1: Result 20
  511. <Moonside> Oh wow.
  512. <Moonside> +14.
  513. <Skeleton> Super suave
  514. <~flibbyjibbits> well what are you saying or who are you talking to
  515. <Moonside> The guards in charge of letting people go in, and I tell them that we really need to go in because our friend is being haunted by ghosts that are inside the town.
  516. <Skeleton> 'Hey you. Eat a dick.' 'OKAY, CAN'T ARGUE WITH THAT TWENNY'
  517. <~flibbyjibbits> diplomacy rolls are stupid :<
  518. <Fishfosh> Count on the paladin to tell the hard to believe truth instead of a convincing lie
  519. <Moonside> Paladins can't lie.
  520. <Fishfosh> exactly
  521. <Moonside> Well, I got a 34. I don't see how that could have failed, unless the guy really hates us for some reason.
  522. <~flibbyjibbits> can you at least actually phrase it instead of walking up and bouncing a dice off his head
  523. <Moonside> "Excuse me, guard. I am aware that this city is quarentined, and most likely for a good reason; however, I must request that me and my companions be allowed to enter. You see, a friend of ours was cursed by a ghost that is said to reside in this city's windmill. We were hoping to be able to vanquish it, therefore ridding the world of a great evil and also hopefully lifting the curse. We would be eternally grateful were you so kind as to do us this favor."
  524. <~flibbyjibbits> the guard leans in close and says
  525. <Skeleton> "Pretty please. With a cherry..."
  526. <~flibbyjibbits> "I can't get you in myself, only feed and drugs go through this door. But if you head around to the other side theres some people who wear weird masks all the time, I think the'yre called vipers or snakes or something, they can get in and out somehow without ever passing the checkpoints, and they know a lot more about the windmill and disease than I do, if thats true then they'll probably help"
  527. <Moonside> "Hmm, I see. I thank you for your assistance."
  528. <~flibbyjibbits> theyre kind of like shyguy masks if you want a description
  529. <~flibbyjibbits> brb gonna go get my laundry
  530. <~flibbyjibbits> okback
  531. <Moonside> We go around to the other side to talk to the shy guys.
  532. <~flibbyjibbits> theyve got a little camp a little ways into the woods away from the city
  533. <Moonside> We go into the camp.
  534. <Fishfosh> yep
  535. <~flibbyjibbits> couple of tents, a few of them had been sitting at tables looking at books or diagrams or maps or talking to eachother
  536. <~flibbyjibbits> when you enter the cmap they all put away what they were reading and stop talking and stare
  537. <CommodoreJim> o_o
  538. <CommodoreJim> OoO
  539. <Moonside> "Hello. We have heard that you might be able to assist us in entering the city."
  540. <~flibbyjibbits> One of them steps forward, seemingly a young woman based on overall body shape and voide though the face is still covered, "Why do you want to go inside?"
  541. <Moonside> "We seek to vanquish a ghost that resides in the city's windmill."
  542. <Moonside> !roll 1 20
  543. <BonBonne> Moonside rolled 20-sided die number 1 of 1: Result 19
  544. <Moonside> diplomacy again I guess
  545. <Fishfosh> gee
  546. <Fishfosh> dem rolls
  547. <Moonside> Also, I use Detect Evil on the person.
  548. <~flibbyjibbits> neutral
  549. <~flibbyjibbits> the camp is overall about evenly split by alignments
  550. <Moonside> Hmm.
  551. <Skeleton> ...what are the odds of that
  552. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess probably trending towards neutral
  553. <~flibbyjibbits> like 40 30 30 n g e
  554. <Fishfosh> cool
  555. <Fishfosh> Pikkup figures he might as well lend his word, too. "It's really important to us that we get inside. Our friend is plagued by terrible nightmares."
  556. <Fishfosh> !roll 1 20
  557. <BonBonne> Fishfosh rolled 20-sided die number 1 of 1: Result 19
  558. <Moonside> Well.
  559. <Fishfosh> +7
  560. <Skeleton> Gee.
  561. <Moonside> I like Bon already.
  562. <Skeleton> My bot just loves us
  563. <BonBonne> babbu <3
  564. <~flibbyjibbits> the speaker walks over to another and they talk quietly a bit
  565. <~flibbyjibbits> "We will help you enter the town, but we have some thigns to ask of you also"
  566. <Moonside> "Of course. What is it?"
  567. <~flibbyjibbits> "In addition to relaying all information you learn within the windmill, we have a package of vials that we would like you to distribute to people in the town."
  568. <Moonside> "I presume that we will not be told of what's inside the vials."
  569. <CommodoreJim> it's pee
  570. <CommodoreJim> this is the cult of whizzardry
  571. <Fishfosh> oh noooooooo
  572. <Moonside> is this the piss forest
  573. <~flibbyjibbits> "Control of information is our group's primary tennant."
  574. <Fishfosh> We have already dared to enter their magical realm
  575. <Fishfosh> it's too late
  576. <Moonside> Elsa sighs, and turns to the group. "Well?"
  577. <Fishfosh> Information just wants to be free maaaaaan
  578. <Fishfosh> Join us now and share the software,
  579. <Fishfosh> You'll be free, hackers, you'll be freeeee
  580. <Fishfosh> "Sounds fair enough."
  581. <Skeleton> "Whatever works... just hope we don't get sick too."
  582. <Skeleton> "Uhh whoops did I just jinx it?"
  583. <CommodoreJim> "If it must be done to enter the city."
  584. <~flibbyjibbits> "Do not eat or drink within the borders."
  585. <Skeleton> "Got it."
  586. <~flibbyjibbits> She walks into one of the tents and ties the doorflap open
  587. <~flibbyjibbits> theres a tunnel dug into the ground
  588. <Fishfosh> so there is
  589. <CommodoreJim> oh boy
  590. <~flibbyjibbits> another person holds out a sort of open lid box containing about two dozen small glass jars with various unidentifiable liquids of varying colors and viscosities
  591. <Fishfosh> "These are the vials, then?"
  592. <~flibbyjibbits> "Yes. Decide for yourself who to distribute them to."
  593. <Moonside> Pikkup can take them, since he has the handy haversack.
  594. <Fishfosh> "Well, okay, if you say so."
  595. <Fishfosh> Pikkup carries the vials
  596. <Skeleton> "Are they experimental? Are any of them known to work?"
  597. <~flibbyjibbits> "Because they are not all the same thing."
  598. <~flibbyjibbits> "We are interested to see how you interpret this task. How you complete it."
  599. <Arkay> "Why is it never easy?"
  600. <Moonside> IS NOTHING EASY
  601. * Skeleton knocks over some laundry soap
  602. <CommodoreJim> we give them all to freddie
  603. <CommodoreJim> test passed
  604. <Skeleton> omg
  605. <CommodoreJim> freddie becomes a flying bear
  606. <Skeleton> ommmmmmggggggg
  607. <CommodoreJim> who spits lightning
  608. <Skeleton> OMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG
  609. <Skeleton> !roll 1 20 does it happen
  610. <Skeleton> !roll 1 20
  611. <BonBonne> Skeleton rolled 20-sided die number 1 of 1: Result 9
  612. <~flibbyjibbits> "I would ask that you please do this before going to the windmill, and remember, tell us everything you learn there."
  613. <Skeleton> Probably not.
  614. <Moonside> "Very well."
  615. <Fishfosh> Well, this is a problematic moral issue
  616. <Skeleton> Let's auction them off
  617. <Skeleton> Make enough money for our big-ass castle
  618. <Fishfosh> I have a feeling the townspeople are not sufficiently wealthy
  619. <Fishfosh> to help us buy a big ass-castle
  620. <~flibbyjibbits> especially not after being quarantined for 2 months
  621. <Skeleton> Maybe a moderately-sized-ass castle then?
  622. <CommodoreJim> the kill them
  623. <CommodoreJim> and turn their flesh into gold
  624. <Arkay> what about just an ass-castle
  625. <CommodoreJim> and bones into diamonds
  626. <CommodoreJim> the power of the vials
  627. <CommodoreJim> arkay WOULD want an ass-castle
  628. <CommodoreJim> ASS WORLD
  629. <Fishfosh> We want a castle to fill with all the greatest asses we can find
  630. <Skeleton> Atop a butte
  631. <Fishfosh> But more importantly, I guess it's time to go through that tunnel?
  632. <Moonside> Yeah.
  633. <Moonside> And also stop for the night maybe, because I see that the sun is rising.
  634. <Fishfosh> and then figure out what to do with the vials
  635. <Fishfosh> yes
  636. <CommodoreJim> i blame amaterasu
  637. <Skeleton> I blame Pyrrhon
  638. <Skeleton> WAKE UP, EARTH WEIRDOS
  639. <Skeleton> KABLOOEY KABLAMMEY
  640. <~flibbyjibbits> yes stopping time
