Meanwhile, back in The Chamber of Horrors, the statues were working furiously to revive the dead body of Mitch Deever. First, Jack the Ripper slit open Mitch's tattooed chest with his razor. Then the disemboweled woman placed her own slimy, beating heart inside Mitch's chest, trying to attach the organ to the major veins and arteries. It was a wasted effort because The Fun House was burning out of control now and---

BOOM!

A huge explosion ripped through the room. The blast sent bits of plaster bodies flying everywhere. It blew the white hockey mask right off Mitch's head. As the flimsy building splintered in all directions, the white mask went hurtling upward. The force of the explosion whipped the mask high over the electric fence - right out of the fairgrounds - spinning like a top - until at last the white mask thwacked deep into the core of a large old oak tree in the nearby woods.

Smoke curled out of the gash in the bark as the mask burned and sizzled its way deep - deep into the tree’s core. Then the smoke faded. Despite the efforts of local firefighters, The Fantana Traveling Fun House and Carnival burned through the night. But the fire never reached the old oak tree where the white mask lay. Jason's mask was buried - out of sight.
