- "Welcome to your first day at Bodyfarms, a subsidiary of Necrocorp. We're pleased to have you as part of our fungus family and--" The manager hit the fast forward button on the VCR. Raffles and the other new recruits watched as the chirpy girl in the instructional video sped up to unintelligible speeds.
- "It's mostly crap from corporate about how we're all a family and we need to stick together and bullshit," the manager grumbled. "Here's the short version. People show up with corpses, and you put them into one of the storage canisters so they can rot. Any fungus that grow out of them, we sell off, and the original corpse-dumper gets 5% of the profits. Any questions?" Raffles raised her hand. "No questions, good. Get to work."
- Raffles sighed as she slipped on the hazmat suit that served as a uniform. Thousands of possible positions in Necrocorp, and the best she could do was handling rotting corpses. Meanwhile, her sisters were getting ready to raise armies of the undead and wreak havoc on a neighboring corp-state.
- After a long day of mushroom harvesting and corpse carting, a thought popped into her head right before she took off her helmet: "If my boss doesn't care about training us, he probably won't notice if a couple of corpses go missing". A smile went unseen behind the heavy visor of the hazmat suit. She'll get her necromancy license yet.
