- Sunday mornings all start the same for me. Stay up until very early morning. Roll around in bed until late afternoon when my body refuses to stay lying down, get up and shower and hang around for the rest of the day like a bum. Unfortunately, something had gone wrong with my usual schedule and I found myself starting at the ceiling wide awake at 2AM. My mood had been changing these past few days, ever since I decided to join the Literature Club like Sayori had practically begged me to. Under normal circumstances I would have blown her off and kept moving, but for some reason I couldn't bare to see her sad expression when we spoke and I decided to go along with it for her sake. Not that it was a total disaster. The people I met there were far from it actually considering that it was just full of extremely cute girls. The loud and obnoxiously boisterous Natsuki, the shy but easily embarrassed Yuri, my ditzy friend Sayori, and...
- "Monika..."
- Monika. The club president. One of the more popular girls in school. We apparently shared a class together sometime, but I hadn't paid any mind when she mentioned that to me. It's odd really, I haven't really spoken to her besides a few greetings or when we read each other's poems but when I'm around her it's really hard...
- It's really hard to suppress my urge to vomit.
- I don't know why but this gut feeling I have whenever she smiles at me, as though it hides something underneath, some sort of monster that sees everyone around her as a pawn or as though this was a game... It's very unsettling. I'm sure she and the others see it as me being nervous around her but I've had to hide my expression around her since the first day of the club had passed. It's as though my body knows or rememebers something my mind just can't process and reacts accordingly. I've spoken to Sayori about this and she's more than worried about my well being at this point and she's the only one who's beginning to catch on to my reactions. Seeing that I wasn't getting back to sleep at this rate, I sighed and reached an arm towards my phone, hoping to play a mobile game to pass the time (or pass out). When the screen illuminated I resisted the urge to shield my eyes when I noticed that I had a few unread messages from only a few minutes ago.
- Sayori: 'Hey Anon are you awake?'
- Sayori: 'I know you're usually up this late on a day off and I kinda can't sleep ehehe...'
- Sayori: 'I was wondering if you wanted to talk or something? If you're awake that is, if not good night! Or morning?'
- Well then. That's oddly convenient I suppose. Sighing once more I whipped the covers off and sat up before typing out my response.
- A: 'Hey Sayori, yeah I'm awake. Looks like we're both having trouble getting to sleep today I guess.'
- S: 'Ah you answered! What's keeping you awake?'
- A: 'What we talked about earlier, the Monika thing. Whenever I think about it I just get really confused and angry.'
- S: 'Then don't think about it silly!'
- "What. I'm sure she knows it's not that simple..." I groaned to myself. I know Sayori isn't stu-
- ...uh scratch that. I know she gets where I'm coming from at the very least. Glancing back down at my phone, I noticed that in my reverie Sayori had sent back 4 messages almost within seconds of each other.
- S: 'Sorry, that was a joke!'
- S: 'Though if you'd rather talk on the phone or in person about it I totally understand Anon.'
- S: 'There's something I want to talk to you about too if you don't mind too much'
- S: 'Let me know if I'm bothering you too much too okay?'
- A: 'Easy there. We can talk outside if you can make it out without waking your parents up, just meet me out front. I'll be out in a sec. And thanks again Sayori.'
