  1. >It's been another day at the ponyville library.
  2. >While Twilight's out on her wacky adventures with her friends, you and Spike have been quietly sorting and maintaining the bookshelves.
  3. >Ha, as if.
  4. >Whether it's pranking the neighbours or seeing how many mares you could hit on from the balconey, what you do on days like this is anything but quiet.
  5. >But today you two settled for raiding the fridge and just lounging around.
  6. >Hell, you couldn't move with all that ice cream in you anyways.
  7. >And with nothing better to do, you decided to scope out the books.
  8. >You skim along the spines of each set.
  9. >Not surprisingly, most of the books are tailored towards Twilight, detailing intricate aspects of magic. Does noone else in this town read?
  10. >One of the books catch your attention: "On Magic by Different Animals."
  11. >You flick through the pages. It seems to be about the attempts of other species in the fields of magic.
  12. >What was interesting was that the book also covered the efforts of non-magical species. Some that even worked.
  13. >You delved deeper. Magic had always been on your mind since you stumbled your way here. Maybe you could find something...
  14. >A peculiar success by an offshoot of the Zebra clans intrigued you.
  15. >The method involved the use of ground inscriptions and magic circles that harnessed the magic energy that flowed through Equestria.
  16. >The book even included a sample inscription for a spell that could teleport one to wherever they wanted.
  17. >Hmm, well it looks safe enough. And you've still got time to kill.
  18. >You grab a piece of chalk and make the first inscription on the floor.
  19. >Luckily, they aren't too difficult to draw and soon you have the whole circle finished within minutes.
  20. >You were ready to step into the circle before the sound of a chortle interrupted your thought process.
  21. >"Pffhahaha. What are you DOING?"
  22.
  23. >You hadn't noticed Spike giggling to himself as you were drawing the whole thing.
  24. >"Eh, I figure I might as well do something productive for once. Maybe learn a little magic."
  25. >"You? Magic? Ahahaha! Like that's going to work. You don't even have a horn!"
  26. >Slightly annoyed, you throw the book at Spike and explain how some species did it anyways.
  27. >He takes a look, then gives you a worried stare.
  28. >"...You're serious, aren't you."
  29. >You shrug and step into the circle.
  30. >Spike runs into the next room, as if out of panic.
  31. >"Well...if you blow up the Library, you're the one fixing it."
  32. >Little bastard. You sigh and activate the "spell".
  33. >Let's see where you want to go. Maybe just to the balconey upstairs?
  34. >You close your eyes and concentrate on the surroundings. The pink handrail, the telescope...
  35. >Suddenly a strange sensation overcomes you.
  36. >It feels like you're in freefall, and the weightlessness sends shivers down your spine
  37. >And all of it stops. You feel the ground again as you open your eyes.
  38. >Still a bit disorientated from the jump, you're not quite sure where you are as you examined your surroundings.
  39. >In the distance there were enormous skyscraper-like structures coated with a familiar tone of brown.
  40. >Each extended miles above you, and each floor contained rows of other giant rectangular structures of different colours.
  41. >The surface you're standing on seemed to go on for miles and miles, and appeared to be timber.
  42. >Okay, you're fairly certain this wasn't the balconey. You're not even sure if you were in Ponyville any more.
  43. >You started to wander about this plane. Surely there'd be something that could help you out.
  44. >As you walked further away from the skyscrapers, you find some sort of large marking on the ground.
  45. >Getting closer, you realise the mark looks awfully familiar.
  46. >Wait, wasn't this one of the symbols you wrote down just then? It's just a lot...larger
  47. >Looking to the side, you find another one of these markings.
  48. >They're in the same order as you drew them too...but that means-
  49. >"Anon! Hey, where are you?!"
  50.
  51. >The loud bellowing noise came from above and behind you.
  52. >Turning around, your jaw dropped as you witnessed the largest baby dragon you've seen.
  53. >You could just barely see his face as you looked upwards, his purple body covering most of your vision.
  54. >His legs, once short and stout, were now the size of apartment blocks.
  55. >The floor trembles as he takes a step forward, covering a distance that would've taken you about 10 minutes.
  56. >"Damn. I knew should've told him he missed a page. Ugh, now I'll have to go find him."
  57. >You what? Oh crap.
  58. >He takes a second step towards you, this time the tremor was strong enough to knock you off your feet.
  59. >Shit, you have to get out of here!
  60. >You ran as fast as you could away from the towering figure. Time appeared to slow down as the adrenaline flowed through your body.
  61. >The gargantuan creature took another step forward. He was right behind you now.
  62. >The shockwaves it sent out tripped your sprint, sending you flying.
  63. >You land on the ground with a BANG,your bones aching from the heavy impact.
  64. >Damn it, the searing pain in your legs stops you from moving forwards.
  65. >A dark shadow looms over you.
  66. >You turn and watch as a purple claw the size of a house hovering above your miniscule form.
  67. >Bracing yourself for its fall, you shut your eyes out of instinct. Well, this was it...
  68.
  69. >THOOOM
  70. >A strong gust of wind blew past you as the deafening roar of the landing rung in your ears.
  71. >Wait, how were you still hearing things?
  72. >You cautiously open your eyes.
  73. >What you saw was a valley of...purple.
  74. >Two great hills extruded outwards, each one cascading out and around you.
  75. >As you come to your senses, you suddenly become aware of what just transpired. You were lucky. Very lucky.
  76. >Barely missed by the dragon, you were now sitting between two of his pudgy digits.
  77. >
