  1. [21:27] Thera Elisheva says, "Now-"
  2. [21:28] Thera Elisheva says, "It's possible, very possible that you could free the souls, and refrain from destroying...the object within, but I'm curious about something. "
  3. [21:28] Thera Elisheva asks, "Why?"
  4. [21:29] Thera Elisheva says, "As you remove it's intended purpose, it would weaken the depraved thing keeping those souls contained. "
  5. [21:34] Ethan never had actually been asked that question before about it. It definitely seemed like something worth asking, too. If he wanted some good weapon he could find a smith to make him one or something of the sort, but this wasn't just going to be a good weapon. It had a deeper meaning than all of that. The young man's eyes shifted up towards the night sky.
  6.
  7. "I messed up back in Crafthold. Killing him wasn't the answer, but neither was making him another person's problem. Destroying that thing's gonna free those souls, for sure, but if we resort to simple solutions we're not that great. Someone made that weapon for a reason; it could be good, but it's most likely bad. But... just like a person, shouldn't we use the mistakes others have done and take the time to fix them up?"
  8.
  9. He shrugged, gaze shifting back down towards Thera.
  10.
  11. "I'm pretty sure I've got a good way to send all the souls back into the lifestream without making it any weaker. It's a star, yeah? If I connect it to the lifestream while regulating what can go in with glyphs and a few things I've learned from Wayfinding, then it'll keep its whole power-thing without harming anyone. We'd be turning something real bad into something that can be good."
  12. (Ethan Hawke)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [21:35] Myst exclaims, "Ok! Time to find... A Cauldron!"
  16. [21:35] Echonore asks, "Uh?"
  17. [21:35] Myst exclaims, "For alchemy!"
  18. [21:36] Amara says, "Excuse me a moment, I need to go enchant a chest..."
  19. [21:36] Echonore stares at the ghost.
  20. (Echonore)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [21:36] Amara eases away, aiming to head back towards the house. She'll be BACK.
  24. (Amara)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [21:41] Myst does what any good spirit would do while their summoner was invested in a conversation.. And starts piling on a bundle of potions besides her.
  28. (Myst)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [21:41] Myst exclaims, "No touching please!"
  32. [21:41] Myst exclaims, "You may keep one!"
  33. [21:43] The sirenian would grab the potion as he lean back toward the spirit. His blue gaze were centered in the spirit. :
  34.
  35. " Are you a spirit? ", he asks.
  36. (Echonore)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [21:46] "That's exactly what I am! I am.. Myst. I mean- that's not my real name. But it's a play on the world Alchemist. I thought it was kind of witty! I just don't remember my real name, sooo this works better. Don't you think?"
  40.
  41. She glides effortly through the air, occasionally it'd seem as if the nearby branches of the trees or blades of glass were swayed towards the simple spirits mystical presence, a yearning of nature one could call it! The incorporeal being flapping her large, oversized arms and incorporeal yet cloth-made hands from left to right. Each mitt larger than that of a normal humans head.
  42.
  43. "I'm here to find her, and to help Thera with things. Mostly alchemy things."
  44. (Myst)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [21:47] Xyn stares akwardly. What was that? He looked at Thera for some time and then scratced his head.
  48. (Xyn)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [21:52] His eyes shifts to the potion, which he was holding before looking back to the spirit. He is really curious about it. Myst has something that seems to be a bit similar to Donni. Spirits are so interesting to Echonore.
  52.
  53. He nods twice as his big fishy wings twitches slightly. :
  54.
  55. " Myst is a good name. It fits you well! ", he pauses. " I think. "
  56.
  57. He lays his head on the right side to give a curious expression to Myst. :
  58.
  59. " What are you gonna help Thera with? "
  60. (Echonore)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [21:53] "Sometimes it's the simplest solutions that give the best result. Genius is simple. Overcomplicated things is for people who aren't sure of what they want." Thera is blunt with her thoughts on the matter. Only to grimace when Ethan makes his claim.
  64.
  65. "...a star? No. It's properties resemble one, sure, but- I don't know what it is, it's not a star. Stars stay in the astral plane, and the only artificial star I'm aware if is the damned monstrous disgusting thing my gr-" My grandmother made.
  66.
  67. Thera grimaces, feeling a brief surge of genuine anger.
  68.
  69. "Send them back into the lifestream? Are you aware of how souls work? They naturally head towards the stars. Where they belong. The only way to keep them bound here, is by piecing the stares nebula, and binding them to a vessel. It's how necromancer works. It's the very basis behind the magic. You steal the souls from the stars, and you-
  70.
  71. Enslaving them.
  72.
  73. Whatever that thing is. It's power comes from those tormented souls. That's the power source. The souls. If you remove the souls, it'll lose the power."
  74.
  75. The more this conversation drags on, the less she wants to be involved.
  76.
  77. "I hear there will be a funeral, for more who have passed during the war. I could allow them to speak with a few of the magi, should they desire. I can assist in any matters related to spirits. I'd be glad to. When it comes to souls?
  78.
  79. Working with anything that enslaves them- is akin to asking me to work with a necromancer. I told you what to do. Destroy the object that binds the souls, or find a new power source.
  80.
  81. But I can't- I'm not taking part in some attempt at converting a soul prison.
  82.
  83. This isn't a person you're trying to save, or conver. This is an object torturing souls for fuck knows how long, and you're asking me to let them suffer a little while longer, with the only result being...
  84.
  85. A new toy.
  86.
  87. I have to pass, on this one."
  88. (Thera Elisheva)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [21:54] Xyn felt like there was a lot he could learn from Thera. Where he currently lived he felt like they were just surviving, this woman was actually doing something different.
  92.
  93. He believed these spirits that came and aided her or simply hovered around her were not going to remain around her if she had alternative intentions, otherwise she'd have summoned Nerithradins. Right?
  94.
  95. He folded his arms and watched idly.
  96. (Xyn)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [21:54] Echonore listen to Thera with much interests.
  100. (Echonore)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [21:55] "I have no idea!"
  104.
  105. Riveting words of wisdom, the Spirit kicks her heels together soundlessly as she floats around the Sirenian, sometimes her hands dipping into the ground itself, vanishing from sight momentarily before popping up into view once more.
  106.
  107. "If I did, I'd have it all done by now. I'm very, very good at finding things and getting things and knowing where things are.. But all the names are kind of foreign, and different... Some aren't, though. Like Gehenna."
  108.
  109. A soft murmuring, a little uttering, it was as if she was bubbling and talking to herself half the time. The bright red orbs that formed her eyes swiveling wispily to glance back towards her Summoner. Going quiet to just..
  110.
  111. Listen.
  112. (Myst)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [22:07] Perhaps this wasn't the best way to get one's point across, but Ethan wouldn't hold back his words and methods. The anger that was boiling in Thera's heart found its match with the young man's frown, his own thoughts being spilled out for her to hear.
  116.
  117. You can't claim that I wanna make them suffer longer when I've been trying to get your help for more than a year with that! I've been trying to fix that thing and not make it an abomination. I've reached out to you because I thought you'd be able to help - because I knew you'd know how to get those souls that are trapped in it out of it safely!"
  118.
  119. A metaphorical step forward was taken as the Wayfinder rose up to the challenge, engaing the spiritmancer in a rather passionate and emotional match.
  120.
  121. "If it's so god damn close to Necromancy whydo you have so little interest in learning how to fix it?! You can't pretend you'll rid the world of that knowledge; there's always going to be someone else that learns or someone new that figures it out. If we can manage to fix it, then we'll be a step closer to fixing Necromancy. We can counteract that thing's pull completely and neutralize it with something that's got a long lifetime and a connection with the lifestream so strong it'll be able to pass as a bunch of souls without being one and free the rest without making this cursed thing completely useless."
  122.
  123. Whether she liked it or not, he was forcing her to listen to his plans.
  124.
  125. "I've got something that'll be just perfect for that already. I just don't wanna mess up the whole process of letting the souls out. That's why I need your help, Thera.
  126.
  127. And if you don't wanna lend it, I'll try to figure out a way on my own. Destroying the thing that binds isn't going to make those souls less tortured."
  128.
  129. There was clearly something he wasn't telling her about his reasoning, but who knew what that could be.
  130. (Ethan Hawke)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [22:09] Xyn gave his attention to Myst fully now, he was uncertain on whether he should've been worried with that creepy face peering through the hood. He felt as if they were something.. far different from a normal spirit.
  134.
  135. He shivered and then realized he was judging a spirit. He didn't think Thera would summon something capable of harming others..
  136.
  137. Right?
  138.
  139. Tales of the boogy man came to the boys head at the time.
  140. (Xyn)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [22:09] The Sirenian would lay his both wings before flapping slowly. His wings were unfortunately not strong enough to be able to fly, but he wants to fly like Myst and Donni.
  144. (Echonore)
  145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  146.
  147. [22:12] Kirsi Ó Cnáimhín asks, ".. Emiri?"
  148. [22:12] Emiri Taiyang asks, "?"
  149. [22:12] Kirsi Ó Cnáimhín asks, "Where is he?"
  150. [22:13] Emiri Taiyang says, "Resting."
  151. [22:13] Kirsi Ó Cnáimhín says, "Hh.. Alright."
  152. [22:14] A slow tilt of her head, as if she'd felt Xyn's eyes on her.
  153.
  154. Was she staring at him? It was hard to tell. The bright wisps of vibrant red beneath the cloth hood swayed like wafting smoke as she momentarily faced him. Revealing a face that looked like darkened thread had been stitched together, with a wide, sharp smile of lighter cloth. Somehow though, that 'cloth' would move along the ethereal spirits 'face'. A lipless 'o' shape formed from it before snapping back into the sharper grin, and her eyes soon bouncing between Ethan and Thera.
  155.
  156. "I meeeaan you're freeing the soul that're bound... So I'd think that'd be a lot less torturous..."
  157.
  158. The wispy comment fades soon afterwards, perhaps not even seeking anyone to actually reply. "I'm going to goo into the grove for more ingredients. Gooooodbyeeveryone!"
  159.
  160. And with that the wispy spirit began to drift away.
  161. (Myst)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [22:15] Echonore waves to Myst. :
  165.
  166. " Good luck !! ~ "
  167. (Echonore)
  168. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  169.
  170. [22:20] Sugarlad says, "Dam."
  171. [22:20] Sugarlad says, "So lively 'round here."
  172. [22:22] Kirsi Ó Cnáimhín says, "Aheh."
  173. [22:22] Kirsi Ó Cnáimhín says, "Lively place is full of spirits."
  174. [22:22] The blonde haired lad moves closer to take a seat on one of the stairs, curious sapphires looking at the scene unfolding before him.
  175. (Sugarlad)
  176. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  177.
  178. [22:23] Sugarlad says, "True, true."
  179. [22:25] "...what?"
  180.
  181. Genuine confusion is etched on her face. It's at this point, that she questions his knowledge on the information presented. She can tell that eyes are upon her, but her confused expression falls upon Ethan, and Ethan alone.
  182.
  183. "I never said that you want to make them suffer. I told you how to remove the item torturing those souls. You're the one who refused to take my advice. The. Safe way. Is to destroy the thing that binds them.
  184.
  185. Souls. Naturally exist in the stars. It is where they go. When people die. When you destroy an undead, the soul is freed, and returned to the stars. This...is essentially the same process. The souls that were stolen from their star, will return to their star, to be cleansed.
  186.
  187. Now. My specialty is spirits, not souls, but spirits are bound to souls. As a cosmic magi, and more than likely secondmost skilled spiritmancer on Agartha. This is what I'm telling you. You aren't listening."
  188.
  189. She refused to back down, as her information is attained from experience, knowledge, and? Being the granddaughter of the necromancer who created Eidolon's star.
  190.
  191. "..and you know how you fix necromancy, Ethan? You strike the undead down. There may be more human ways, a means to ride the undead of the corruption, and allow them to pass on peacefully. This isn't a stepping stone to fixing necromancy.
  192.
  193. But- I can't help you with this. I can't direct, or guide souls. I'm not a necromancer, nor do I know soul transference.
  194.
  195. Destroying that thing will free the souls, and allow them to be cleansed in the stars. That is something that cannot be contested. What you're asking of me is...
  196.
  197. To assist in freeing souls, when I do not work with souls. To...convert an object created to house souls, into an object attuned to the lifestream itself, and you expect me to believe this is the key to fixing necromancy?
  198.
  199. You can seal a necromancers magic. You can cut their connection to the astral plane. You can free the enslaved souls of the undead. This? What you're asking of me? I want nothing to do with it.
  200.
  201. I accepted this request, because you wanted me to purify a spirit, and assist in a contract. I didn't sign up to get involved in any of this nonsense.
  202.
  203. If this is the route you want to take, take it without me."
  204. (Thera Elisheva)
  205. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  206.
  207. [22:28] Elayna says, "."
  208. [22:32] He may have brought the heat but the woman was as cold as a spirit. Calmly being able to explain her train of thought to the uninitiated that he was - or seemed to be was definitely managing to calm things down. To calm her down, too. Still, Ethan was stubborn enough to huff a tad - to look off to the side and think about the very first request that came to the Spiritmancer.
  209.
  210. ... After all the weapon itself was a whole different story. Whether or not it had to do with the spirit he had trapped in a bottle was yet to be known. A deep breath was drawn in before he exhaled, roughly.
  211.
  212. "Fine." He said, reaching into his clothes to pull out a bottle with a dark, pitch-black liquid within it. It seemed to have a mind of its own, two yellow dots shifted around the area as it was presented, observing everyone.
  213.
  214. "Let's purify the spirit. I'll deal with the weapon myself."
  215.
  216. Whatever that meant. Hopefully she had convinced him a bit.
  217. (Ethan Hawke)
  218. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  219.
  220. [22:33] Xyn looked over to see Sugarlad. He had only seen them around the camp sight. He looked at Ethan now, what was he talking about? He stared at it and then realized it was.. something weird within the bottle..?
  221.
  222. What the heck was that.
  223.
  224. He stared at it wondering if it were some failed summoning that couldn't properly materialize. Either that or a babline bathed in tar.
  225. (Xyn)
  226. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  227.
  228. [22:39] "I'll purify it when you present me a suitable place for it to reside. As of now, the weapon, the 'home' you showed me, is still very unstable- and sealing spirits within people is taxing, and I've already contracted a magi, sealed a spirit, and use the power of the one within me-
  229.
  230. All the mana left in my reserves will only be used to protect those that reside here. Even if this place is peaceful- I need to always be prepared to maintain that pace. I hope you understand."
  231.
  232. Assisting the spirit isn't a duty she can ignore, even if she despised the idea of purifying that depraved monstrous object. "I do have most of the preparations made for the purification process, though.."
  233.
  234. Amara will have more work, in the coming days...
  235.
  236.
  237. (Thera Elisheva)
  238. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  239.
  240. [22:42] "Fine." He said, still a bit rough. It was clear he was displeased by the way this conversation went, though knowing how stubborn the young man was? He would find a way to satisfy her request and do things his own way. Before she could even try to comfort him, ease him up or scowl at him he'd be gone. A flash of green surrounded him before he completely vanished - moving across the very lifestream the abomination he found was harming.
  241.
  242. Thera had issued a challenge, and she didn't even know it.
  243. (Ethan Hawke)
  244. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  245.
  246. [22:51] "More spirit stuff, huh…"
  247.
  248. It felt like eachtime he'd come to visit here, he would hear the words purification, spirits and weapon being thrown around. Like a music looping endlessly. No wonder why Thera had snow-hair, this whole stuff was probably extremely exhausting and stressful to deal with. "Ahh…"
  249.
  250. I never want to grow up!
  251.
  252. The blonde-haired lad would look down and poke down at his shadow with the hilt of his staff while playing with the straw between his lips, boy he was bored lately. He'd slightly raise his chin to give a quick glance around him, his hues would catch on the teenager shrouded in dark wind and grimace at the sight!
  253.
  254. Exposing such darkness in the middle of the square, ew.
  255. (Sugarlad)
  256. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  257.
  258. [22:51] Xyn blinks as Ethan vanishes. He'd never seen ANYTHING like that before. The boy looked around and figured he must've just been invisible somewhere around here.. right?
  259.
  260. The boy was confused. He looked up and down, even looking at the tavern door. He figured it must've been some trick!
  261.
  262. "What the hell did he just do?" He questioned.
  263. (Xyn)
