The Igarashi and their Sister Clan

"We were a village hidden in the clouds. Built upon the peaks of mountains with ocean surrounding us on all sides. By all means, our geography was more sublime than any other village. Kirigakure was a close second. Our history of war is one that eliminates the opposition before they could make landfall.

What we did not expect? Was an insurgent. Our village was a proud one. One that valued team work above everything. Each and every person was a brother or a sister. This stemmed from the close relationship demonstrated by the Yotsuki and the Igarashi when the village was founded. Our two clans set the precedent.

This made it hard to suspect anyone on our side...for any reason. But I don't regret this. Even as the village fell, I could never find it in my heart to blame the one responsible. It wasn't their fault. No matter what village you belong to, there's no way to fully rid your land of the misfortune that may breed a damaged soul. No matter what lies Sunagakure would preach. It is our fault for not paying him closer attention.

Yotsuki, Rei.... A child left behind by an archaic practice that we are tortured with enduring for the sake of our village's protection. The Warding Ritual.. An evil God of a trial that offers a land protection from the types of creatures that'd wipe us out in an instant...in exchange for a certain amount of blood from specific sacrifices. Our Clan's high status and wealth didn't mean anything to this ritual, but it at-least made it so we could keep it under wraps.

No matter how perfect we wish to be, there are always seeds of hatred planted that we cannot avoid or remedy. And because of this, we were too late to save the Yotsuki Clan from their destruction. The Storm Release, something so powerful, controlled, well aimed, and quick...just wasn't quick enough. Even with our innate ability to predict the weather, our vision seemed clouded at the time. Unable to see the storm coming.

Rei accepted the temptation of the enemy with open arms. Waited until the day the Yotsuki celebrated the most. Until they were all gathered in the streets in honor of their clan's founding... and unleashed hell on his own people to open a window for the Suna-Iwa Invasion. Our array of storm attacks bombarded the beast from all sides. But by the time we were able to wear down the monster he'd spawned, the Suna War Machines were already beating us down from ridiculous Range at our flanks.

We should have known it was just a distraction.."
