  1. PatBack: Dude, jjs and his little retinue of friends don't care about facts or logic.
  2. They feast off misery.
  3. At this rate, you're better off either talking to them directly or going forward, because there's something deeper that can't be remedied by clinical analysis.
  4. Luke: Trust me, if I thought they cared about facts and logic, I would've been upfront with them long ago.
  5.
  6. This is not intended for them, this is for the truthseekers.
  7. PatBack: You should be upfront with them.
  8.
  9. Face your fears.
  10. It'll be instrumental to progress as a human being.
  11. I mean look at this: http://oi63.tinypic.com/50joef.jpg
  12.
  13. pure vitriol
  14. Luke: I already have. I'm long done caring what other people think of me.
  15. PatBack: you do care though, you're in denial that's what you are
  16. otherwise you wouldn't have drafted this entire treatise
  17. part of maturing is realizing that perhaps you're in the wrong, and with this situation I think both are at fault (as a neutral third party)
  18. you can turn this around if you please, as long as you apologize
  19. Luke: But I don't believe I have anything to be sorry for.

  37. you can turn this around if you please, as long as you apologize
  38. Luke: But I don't believe I have anything to be sorry for.
  39. PatBack: look, if you can come over to xat or discord and put forward your criticism with civility, I think that would salutary for both parties
  40. these underhanded documents are just exacerbating the antagonism
  41. Luke: I've tried to be as civil as I can be.
  42. PatBack: have you spoken to them?
  43. after the documents were penned?
  44. Luke: No.
  45. PatBack: that's the missing chain
  46. even if you get instantly banned by responding to their calumny, you'd at least look diplomatic
  47. and then the fault would be wholly on them
  48. Luke: They can permaban me if they want. I no longer care.
  49. PatBack: what's this really about
  50. I can't help but think you're masking something deeper
  51. Luke: I stood up for what I felt was right. If they never wish to see the truth, that's their problem.
  52. I thought SBC was a place where I belonged at one point. But then I found out it was not.
  53. PatBack: it can still be
  54. I'll defend you to your grave
  55. Luke: Thanks man.
  56. But after the way they suspended Tron and Cream just for defending themselves, I doubt going back there to defend myself would do any good at all.
  57. PatBack: if they rescinded Tron and Cream's suspension would you return?
  58. Luke: Yes.
  59. I already put the offer of having a civil and cordial debate with someone on the table.
  60. They can rescind Tron and Cream's suspensions and just ban me.
  61. PatBack: If you can argue your case and we come to an armistice, maybe you wouldn't have to be
  62. your reputation would be irrevocably marred, but it'd be a new beginning for you
  63. Luke: I'd be willing to do an interview of sorts with someone at least willing to give my side of the story a chance.
  64. PatBack: that could be me
  65. Luke: You could ask me all the questions you want answers to and I'd answer them.
  66. PatBack: but again, you can't hide behind tomes
  67. Luke: Where would you want to do this interview?
  68. PatBack: I don't know, and I don't think it's a good idea
  69. Luke: *sigh*
  70. PatBack: would you be up for trimming down their suspensions
  71. Luke: How so?
  72. PatBack: they expire july 3rd as it is
  73. maybe if we could bring that down to, say, june 20th
  74. Luke: But again, how would that be done?
  75. PatBack: what do you mean? that can't be done?
  76. I'll admit you probably know more about moderating than I do
  77. Luke: I just don't know man.
  78. My friends and I were laughing about all this shit up till now.
  79. PatBack: your friends?
  80. Luke: I did all this shit knowing full well of the consequences it would bring.
  81. Yeah, Tron and Cream.
  82. PatBack: are you in a relationship with Tron or is it platonic? there's been rumors circulating about that
  83. they're taking that suggestion up for consideration
  84. Luke has left.
  85. Luke: Sorry that we got cut off there, had a spyware pop-up.
  86. Look dude, I don't know.
  87. I honestly do do this mostly for fun.
  88. PatBack: is this how you get your kicks?
  89. because 34 pages...doesn't sound very fun
  90. Luke: I mean it when I say I can laugh off so much of this stuff, knowing that it's not true.
  91. I enjoyed every second of it.
  92. PatBack: so do you care, or do you not?
  93. you're burning bridges with people you've been chummy with for roughly eight years
  94. Luke: I don't care for going back to them. I only care if some of them want to come to me.
  95. They never truly saw me as their friend.
  96. When I first came to the site, everyone hated me.
  97. And after a while, I thought I was "loved" there.
  98. But when I saw that Jjs was willing to cut me out at any second as soon as I no longer had value to him, I saw the truth.
  99. I'd rather be hated openly than hated in secret.
  100. Their words of hate are my lullabies.
  101. If I go back there, I will only show them that my words of being done with the site meant nothing.
  102. PatBack: have you ever heard of Hanlon's Razor?
  103. Phantom Juice has left.
  104. Luke: No.
  105. PatBack: it's an adage that says you shouldn't ascribe incompetence to malice
  106. jjs "cutting you off" (whatever that means) may have not been intentional
  107. you could have averted all of this if you just talked to him more
  108. Luke: Oh yes, I know I've made mistakes.
  109. PatBack: I really don't think anyone has hated you
  110. believe me, I sometimes get that feeling
  111. it's only these diatribes that have elicited digust
  112. Luke: I know not everyone on SBC is like them.
  113. PatBack: but it's also because you're weaseling out of earnest conversation by making these documents and not telling anyone
  114. if you could just have a dialogue
  115. I'm not God or anything, just giving you some level-headed advice
  116. Luke: I promise that this will be the last one.
  117. PatBack: are you willing to have a dialogue, yes or no? don't give me bullshit, just the straight unadulterated answer
  118. Luke: No.
  119. PatBack: well so may it be
  120. Luke: Thanks for trying to help me.
  121. PatBack: I hope you find better hobbies than being indignant to internet users
  122. and I hope you can prosper
  123. I don't have much respect for jjs but I'll let him know, even if it's in vain
  124. thank you
  125. Luke: You're welcome.
  126. PatBack: *snap* yep, that one's going to my cringe compilation
