- PatBack: Dude, jjs and his little retinue of friends don't care about facts or logic.
- They feast off misery.
- At this rate, you're better off either talking to them directly or going forward, because there's something deeper that can't be remedied by clinical analysis.
- Luke: Trust me, if I thought they cared about facts and logic, I would've been upfront with them long ago.
- This is not intended for them, this is for the truthseekers.
- PatBack: You should be upfront with them.
- Face your fears.
- It'll be instrumental to progress as a human being.
- I mean look at this: http://oi63.tinypic.com/50joef.jpg
- pure vitriol
- Luke: I already have. I'm long done caring what other people think of me.
- PatBack: you do care though, you're in denial that's what you are
- otherwise you wouldn't have drafted this entire treatise
- part of maturing is realizing that perhaps you're in the wrong, and with this situation I think both are at fault (as a neutral third party)
- you can turn this around if you please, as long as you apologize
- Luke: But I don't believe I have anything to be sorry for.

- PatBack: look, if you can come over to xat or discord and put forward your criticism with civility, I think that would salutary for both parties
- these underhanded documents are just exacerbating the antagonism
- Luke: I've tried to be as civil as I can be.
- PatBack: have you spoken to them?
- after the documents were penned?
- Luke: No.
- PatBack: that's the missing chain
- even if you get instantly banned by responding to their calumny, you'd at least look diplomatic
- and then the fault would be wholly on them
- Luke: They can permaban me if they want. I no longer care.
- PatBack: what's this really about
- I can't help but think you're masking something deeper
- Luke: I stood up for what I felt was right. If they never wish to see the truth, that's their problem.
- I thought SBC was a place where I belonged at one point. But then I found out it was not.
- PatBack: it can still be
- I'll defend you to your grave
- Luke: Thanks man.
- But after the way they suspended Tron and Cream just for defending themselves, I doubt going back there to defend myself would do any good at all.
- PatBack: if they rescinded Tron and Cream's suspension would you return?
- Luke: Yes.
- I already put the offer of having a civil and cordial debate with someone on the table.
- They can rescind Tron and Cream's suspensions and just ban me.
- PatBack: If you can argue your case and we come to an armistice, maybe you wouldn't have to be
- your reputation would be irrevocably marred, but it'd be a new beginning for you
- Luke: I'd be willing to do an interview of sorts with someone at least willing to give my side of the story a chance.
- PatBack: that could be me
- Luke: You could ask me all the questions you want answers to and I'd answer them.
- PatBack: but again, you can't hide behind tomes
- Luke: Where would you want to do this interview?
- PatBack: I don't know, and I don't think it's a good idea
- Luke: *sigh*
- PatBack: would you be up for trimming down their suspensions
- Luke: How so?
- PatBack: they expire july 3rd as it is
- maybe if we could bring that down to, say, june 20th
- Luke: But again, how would that be done?
- PatBack: what do you mean? that can't be done?
- I'll admit you probably know more about moderating than I do
- Luke: I just don't know man.
- My friends and I were laughing about all this shit up till now.
- PatBack: your friends?
- Luke: I did all this shit knowing full well of the consequences it would bring.
- Yeah, Tron and Cream.
- PatBack: are you in a relationship with Tron or is it platonic? there's been rumors circulating about that
- they're taking that suggestion up for consideration
- Luke has left.
- Luke: Sorry that we got cut off there, had a spyware pop-up.
- Look dude, I don't know.
- I honestly do do this mostly for fun.
- PatBack: is this how you get your kicks?
- because 34 pages...doesn't sound very fun
- Luke: I mean it when I say I can laugh off so much of this stuff, knowing that it's not true.
- I enjoyed every second of it.
- PatBack: so do you care, or do you not?
- you're burning bridges with people you've been chummy with for roughly eight years
- Luke: I don't care for going back to them. I only care if some of them want to come to me.
- They never truly saw me as their friend.
- When I first came to the site, everyone hated me.
- And after a while, I thought I was "loved" there.
- But when I saw that Jjs was willing to cut me out at any second as soon as I no longer had value to him, I saw the truth.
- I'd rather be hated openly than hated in secret.
- Their words of hate are my lullabies.
- If I go back there, I will only show them that my words of being done with the site meant nothing.
- PatBack: have you ever heard of Hanlon's Razor?
- Phantom Juice has left.
- Luke: No.
- PatBack: it's an adage that says you shouldn't ascribe incompetence to malice
- jjs "cutting you off" (whatever that means) may have not been intentional
- you could have averted all of this if you just talked to him more
- Luke: Oh yes, I know I've made mistakes.
- PatBack: I really don't think anyone has hated you
- believe me, I sometimes get that feeling
- it's only these diatribes that have elicited digust
- Luke: I know not everyone on SBC is like them.
- PatBack: but it's also because you're weaseling out of earnest conversation by making these documents and not telling anyone
- if you could just have a dialogue
- I'm not God or anything, just giving you some level-headed advice
- Luke: I promise that this will be the last one.
- PatBack: are you willing to have a dialogue, yes or no? don't give me bullshit, just the straight unadulterated answer
- Luke: No.
- PatBack: well so may it be
- Luke: Thanks for trying to help me.
- PatBack: I hope you find better hobbies than being indignant to internet users
- and I hope you can prosper
- I don't have much respect for jjs but I'll let him know, even if it's in vain
- thank you
- Luke: You're welcome.
- PatBack: *snap* yep, that one's going to my cringe compilation
