Once upon a time, in the year 2082, thousands of large, coordinated objects of an unknown origin, dubbed “Fireflies”, burn up in the Earth’s atmosphere in a precise grid, while momentarily broadcasting across an immense portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, catching humanity off guard and alerting it to an undeniable extraterrestrial presence 1.

In the midst of this chaos, a young boy named Michael Oher, who was homeless and struggling to navigate through school systems, caught the attention of Leigh Ann Tuohy and her husband Sean Tuohy. Recognizing his potential, they took him under their wing and helped him achieve his dreams 2.

As the world grappled with the implications of the Fireflies’ arrival, a crew of astronauts was sent out to investigate a trans-Neptunian Kuiper belt comet dubbed “Burns-Caulfield” that had been found to be transmitting an unidentified radio signal to an as-yet unknown destination elsewhere in the Solar System 1. The crew of the Theseus, propelled by an antimatter reactor and captained by an artificial intelligence, included five cutting-edge transhuman hyper-specialists, one of whom was a genetically reincarnated vampire who acted as the nominal mission commander 1.

As the crew of the Theseus embarked on their mission, they discovered that the comet was not what it seemed. It was, in fact, a living organism with a consciousness that was beyond human comprehension 1. The crew was forced to confront their own limitations and the limitations of their understanding of the universe 1.

Meanwhile, Michael Oher continued to thrive under the guidance of the Tuohys. He went on to become a successful football player and businessman, inspiring others with his story of perseverance and determination 2.
