Borderlands 4 - Pre-Expression

BL1 Raw, BL2 FUN, BL3 A querky story that wanted you to kill yourself, but overall a really really good game years down the line, even if you want to skip most of the main story. TTWL haven't played the full game only the mini version that got me hooked, don't know why. It just fell under the radar, even though I own ALL the games of the franchise.

I haven't had time to put the hours into any gaming regardless of title for years now, so when I actually have time to play a game, it better be a good one. BL4. . . . . . . Regard this as first impressions, that keeps stacking up on an endless loop of depression. in short; It sucks. Don't buy it. Wait like 2 years or 20 in a protest.

I payed 1500 SEK for this game, 'BECAUSE A GEARBOX GAME IS A GAME WORTH IT'S MONEY' (is what I have been thinking) so I was hyping myself. A bit too hyped though, it's a 'Cyberpunk 2099' experience, you know the first unbearable 2 years that made you not play the game and then forget that you actually own it while everyone else states it's now fixed . . . but you still don't install and play it. MAX VALUE a third of the Super Deluxe Edition, there should only be ONE version, and that version should have a maximum price of 49.99€. Why did I spend so much money on it? Well, did I misread something?  This is from the 49.99€ DLC, which was the reason I chose to pay for the Super Deluxe Edition. . .

So I was thinking, WOOHOO! I'm going to get SIX vault hunters to choose from starting up the game! AWESOME!!! BACK TO BASICS! I personally preferred the BL2 approach wherein you had 6 different playable chars, and not the 4 that you get stuck with usually, 4 makes team-ups always the same with almost the same big variations of game-style, usually every tree gives you like three versions at least to build in one skill, but BL4 is basically, you get the different 'Skills' and their 'Trees', but it won't be any extreme radical difference in the feel, so you level up, and feel hungry as nothing major happens, making you feel, why even bother with the skills. . .? Maybe at the end-game, I don't know, usually I'm like, yay playing around with the radical differences,  that have been in earlier games from lvl1-lvl30, it's usually enough to figure out if you are going to scrap the char and make a new one or test the next, early access to the re-skill machine made me re-skill 4 times between lvl 10-22, that's not because I want to test out the next tree, it's because VEX is such an unsatisfied character, and she seemed the most interesting, the SIREN SEEMED LIKE THE MOST INTERESTING PLAYABLE CHARACTER?!! WHAT?! HA HA HA *TEARS SEA-PING OUT OF MY EYE* Literally! and what's up with her somewhat malkavian vampire tendencies, at times?

I'm still in the first section of the game though, on the what seems to be the ONE planet that you are stuck on this time. . .  It's as if BL3 has been erased from Gearboxes memory. I'm going to be a ~40 year old; crying over a fucking game if I'm stuck playing on ONE planet after given the 'The Universe is vast' treatment from BL3, even if it was obviously linear, it made the game feel a lot bigger. Am I going to be stuck on ONE planet? Anyone?! NO! DO NOT ANSWER THAT! NO SPOILERS! The map feels big going over it, but being in game, the areas doesn't feel that far away, is it because the ONE hover bike, that you can then re-skin 20 times is too fast? BL1, BL2, BL3  Multiple veichles, BL4. LET IT NOT BE JUST THE HOVER BIKE, LET IT NOT JUST BE THE HOVER BIKE. LET IT NOT JUST BE THE HOVER BIKE!!! Also, it's 2025, why can't I walk EVERYWHERE on the map? You obviously made the mountain ranges, why can't I walk in/on them? OPEN MAP, OPEN MAP, OPEN MAP. Can you at least make it not feel that linear?

Graphically, it sure looks as though years were put into it, but how it plays is a whole other thing. I have never ever in my life wished that a game had an insurance, as much as I wish this one had one. Basically something like Amazon's "Money back and keep the trash" guarantee, when you buy something that looks knitted, but ends up being a printed texture. How could you kind of make a Borderlands game, and kind of not make one at the same time? It's not the same feel, as a typical BL game. Usually it's the lore that makes the borderlands games loose it's mask, which is this happy joke of ultra violence, it's the echo-logs and lore that teaches you about the true horrors behind the open mask that most people see, and now what? Are you trying to unmask and make people see the echo-log entries? I don't get it, I love how Borderlands usually takes you between madness and mayhem depending on how deep you go into finding the logs.

Also, the physics... is ragdoll-a-licious, you torgue someone and they fly higher then some of the buildings at times. . . and HARD?! Sure, I have been dying, but HARD feels like I'm on easy, enemies die like a human is stomping on an anthill, no that's a bad synonym, because there's like somewhat the feeling of too many enemies in some areas and in others a lack thereof, the time-keepers synthetic army or what they are, is like shooting a sponge and they melt, so it would be like firing a gun into a sponge, they basically can't handle any bullets, but you still have to shoot many bullets. . .  I'm still just swooshing through areas like I'm on the easiest Doom setting from the original pixel game of the 90's. . . You don't even need an easy setting, the only problems I seem to have is having enough time to kill some of the random pop-up zone bosses. I have to run & gun in most fights, oh yeah if you stand still, apparently the enemies does the same thing, they just stop shooting at you as if you are dead, or lock into place not doing shit. HORRIBLE Experience for a game that pricerange. #VALVe make #Gearbox pay back half of the money that people payed for it. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CHOOSE TO RELEASE A GAME, AND AT THE SAME TIME RELEASE DLC'S?! THAT ARE THEN INCLUDED IN THE OVERPRICES CRAP OF A GAME?! WHY GEARBOX & 2K?!  Also, why does it feel like all I'm killing is 5 kinds of enemies, humans, synthetics, big animals, small animals, underground aliens from another moon.

The loot sucks, what do we have 2 guns? It's 8 kind of, one could switch out A part on the hover bike. . . but that enlightened thing is apparently not the same for the guns. Really? I would have loved having modular mayhem, and a hard time finding the pieces for the franken-guns, nope, not this iteration either. Since you have  so much to fix with the game, why not rebuild the weapon system, do a BL4 v2.0, with more modularity, and the kickback might not be so bad. Maybe you could save the game...

What's wrong? Everything. Is that a moon breaking through, through a wormhole collapse or another dimension? Hmm, anyway. . . Did Marcus die somewhere or something? The guns & ammo machines are dull. Dr. Zed is heard loud and clear, but the Guns & Ammo machines they speak death and emptiness basically, so did something happen to the Marcus guns machines? Who did you want to give the vibes of depression to with the game, the players or actually make people depressed playing it? There's endless bugs. . . or should I state 'glitches', In the interface, clear the backpack and you still get the "You still have unchecked items", echo-logs same there, some logs un-check just by you looking at them, while some you have to play 30 times before it registers that it was played once, and you can't go outside of the tab, if you do, it stops playing. . . Did you forget how to async a function or something? You still have real-estate to have a play/stop button somewhere or voice commands. insert AI here. ;P

BL3 a joke, BL4 not a redeemer. It made BL3 look like the goldvein was struck. BL2 still GOAT.
