too lazy to make images for the rest, but more observations: asuka recognizes mark.09 as 'reeking of SEELE' when it transforms into a core, and the reactivated mark.06 (fused to lilith, embodied with an angel) turns into a core during her fight with it
so asuka probably fought mark.06 in the timegap
also that confirms that mark.06's fuckery with lilith is SEELE's doing i reckon, unless it went rogue
fuyutsuki's monologue to shinji is the most intriguing thing in 3.0, he passingly mentions to Shinji while explaining yui's contact experiment: "You saw it, though your memories have been erased." dunno if he means through some kind of amnestic thing of Gehirn's doing, or if the circumstances of that are impact-related.
when sakura is checking shinji at the beginning of 3.0, he mentions saving rei and she goes "Ah, his memory seems to be intact." then shows him a picture of himself and goes "Do you know who this is?" and when he affirms she goes "He's capable of recognizing himself." sounds like an 'extra-normal' medical checkup if you feel me. checking for a dissolved ego border or whatever
fuyutsuki also mentions that yui's name is Yui Ayanami, which is just the biggest clusterfuck of a lore bomb ever, considering all of the other strange things happening with rei in rebuild


this is not organized for speaking to others: but i am sure something is amiss:
- during EoE, the hair the leaks out of unit 01 as it's drifting off into space in the scene entitled "Farewell, Mother" is blue, like Rei's. if this is merely a trait of all FAR bodies, and not related to the soul, why is kaworu's hair not blue?
- in the beginning of 1.0, after eva 01's first fight and berserk, shinji sees "Distorted Rei" in his dream. that is the same animation as rei and shinji saw when unit 00 berserked during the NGE tests. so a soul of rei appears to be inside 01 in rebuild
- fuyutsuki explicitly says during 3.0 that yui ayanami is the control system of eva 01
- "quantum rei" appears to rei Q during 3.0, and if my memory serves me, also regular rebuild rei during the start of 1.0 (in the dream sequence - she seems confused about who it is). does she appear in 2.0? i don't remember, but anyway, quantum rei is appearing to the new reis. seems like some timeline shit for sure. yui's rename is assuredly timeline shit. the people who got renames in rebuild, asuka & yui & gendo (soryu > shikinami, ikari > ayanami, rokubungi > ikari) were all people who were not inside instrumentality during EoE. soryu at hakone, yui in unit 01, gendo who knows where
gendo may be a clone in 3.0, fuyutsuki says something about "seeing how you live might benefit your son" and then he says to shinji something like "your father will even sacrifice his soul to meet his ends"
has anyone talked about why the black moon is a carved up gear-esque mess in 3.0?
for other solar bodies, i guess earth and luna are cores & ?partial? cores respectively now because of the events of the time gap, probably the different parties trying to get their way or something
also, the way that rei Q is shown having no interest whatsoever in books, in a really cinematically deliberate way, it reminded me of the focus on shikinami liking dolls now
some of the phrases from the 'mental breakdown' sequence in 3.0 appear to be lifted from the 'rejection sequence' on EoE. "What an idiot. I hate you." "I wish you didn't exist." "To be honest, I don't just dislike you." "There's no way I'd fall for you." "Just get lost." "I hate people like you the most." none of these are rebuild quotes, at least.
later, when shinji hurls his SDAT at the wall and breaks it, and kaworu comes to see what's up, kaworu says: "And nothing good comes from replaying your painful memories, either..."
here is an important one. mari says when attacking evangelion 13 and the bullet passes through: (surprised) "It has no AT field?! Don't tell me that unit..."
just a few minutes later when evangelion 13 awakens, mari says: "It seems one of the surviving adams has awakened."
so i reckon all the units that have AT fields, they aren't adams
eva 13's 'at fields' were artificially created by those little orbiter things before
oh and that means at least one or more adams is probably dead, maybe from the time skip
and here's a minor detail, but we see plants growing in NERV HQ, that's maybe because it was in the 'eye of the storm' when the eye of guf or whatever it's called open

the way the black moon was pulled from the ground when the impact started in 3.0, well we know what the black moon is meant to hold, and the moon itself seemed it was going to go into the eye of guf
maybe some sort of soul taxi-cab into the next timeline there, or something

i still don't understand the difference between what kaworu wanted and what was about to happen, if kaworu wanted a reset (and that was his idea of 'repairing this world') or if he wanted to stick around, or what. why did kaworu stop shinji's ascension in 2.0, wasn't that going to reset the world? ritsuko remarked "The world is about to end."


at the end of 3.0, lilith's body clearly looks to have been mobilized, and i can't see anyone having done that besides rei, so it seems she might've gotten in there somehow in the time gap. but fuyutsuki said that the rei who shinji knows is preserved in eva-01. lilith's body is reaching for something, the failures of infinity gathered round lilith-rei's head are all reaching toward it
rei/lilith's head got severed in the first place somehow and for some reason, don't think it should be lethal as the spears were used anyway

in the fight with mark.06, rei in mark.09 cuts off its head and the angel inside emerges. rei q remarks as she does it: "I was ordered to."(edited)
also i think rei q picked up the SDAT, as her first bit of rebellion, because no one told her to do it
oh and the failures of infinity have all their heads cut off, and there's eva-sized skulls in the chamber with lilith

in the 4.0 preview, there's zillions of mark.06 clones, but the failures of infinity look like unit 01. so probably in the time gap, unit 01 did similar things to what mark.06 did during 3.0's end, except mark.06 'succeeded' somehow
maybe they were failures of infinity because lilith-rei got her head cut off, and that somehow caused all their heads to be cut off. and that's why rei q decapitates mark.06 in 3.0's ending, although it seems ineffective
yes that's it, the failures of infinity are all reaching for lilith's head because they reflect what happened to lilith i suppose
when eva 13's awakening is in progress, mari tells Rei Q: "You should get out of here before you turn into the Vessel of Adams." the vessel is the eva itself, right? so rei will turn into an eva if she remains at ground zero. sounds exactly like the failures of infinity
interesting that shikinami's original plugsuit has no core, and her suit in 3.0 has a blue core, similar to her blue angel-sealed eye. asuka remarks at the end of 3.0 that humans can't enter the zone she, shinji & rei q are in, so none of them are human. probably the result of piloting, and maybe going to high plug depth

noteworthy that god-rei has her head severed in EoE and also in the timeskip apparently. a possible fixed event in the dead sea scrolls, similar to kaworu being tricked by a gendo switcharoo (be it spears or adam/lilith.) i wonder what gendo meant about amending them, how he intends to do that
