For OCs, I have set their birth dates to their post dates unless they have a canon birthday. For Pokemon, I have listed the date their debut game released in North America. For Yu-Gi-Oh cards, I have listed the date they appeared in the real life Trading Card Game in North America. Same with Magic: the Gathering cards.
