  21. 01[10:59] <@Geremy-Tibbles> It bears a large shield with a gattling gun attached to it and a sword hilt on one end. It almost looks like something else is under the gattling shield, but you can't quite tell.

  23. 01[11:00] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The commander you ran into earlier aproachs you two, looking on at it with you. "Well, it's no Zaku, boy."
  24. [11:00] <Toru_Yamato> "I'm assuming it's... more powerful?"
  25. 01[11:00] <@Geremy-Tibbles> "That's a true piece of Ace hardware, a field commander's dream."
  26. [11:00] <Toru_Yamato> "Is it the only one?"
  27. 01[11:01] <@Geremy-Tibbles> He shakes his head. "No. These are limited production though. Most Aces go for a Dom or are handed an FZ. But the ones who know how to get in close choose the Gouf."

  32. [11:03] <Toru_Yamato> "Sounds like a beast..." Toru has no idea if it is or not, it just looks powerful.
  33. 01[11:04] <@Geremy-Tibbles> "I've been in this war since it started. I was 16 in the junior corps when Zeon Zum Deikum died."
  34. [11:05] <Toru_Yamato> "So how long does it take for someone to earn one of those?"
  35. 01[11:05] <@Geremy-Tibbles> "A few years or a lucky sortie, whichever comes first." He chuckles and takes a long drag off his cigar. "Come on, I'll bore you with war stories over some chow."
  36. 06[11:07] * Toru_Yamato nods before looking over his shoulder at the machine before walking with the commander to the mess hall.
  37. 06[11:07] * John_Douglas salutes in acknowledgment and trails behind.
  38. 06[11:08] * Gabby_Glorie-Gaudet walks with them, thinking.
  39. 01[11:10] <@Geremy-Tibbles> He walks into the mess tent. Picnic table style tables have been set up. Pilot and mechanic alike are sitting at them, eating out of shiny trays. There's a long table serving food buffet style. None of it seems to spectacular. He gets himself a tray of food and sits a table with two other similarly dressed gentleman.
  40. 06[11:10] * Toru_Yamato does likewise and gets a tray of whatever is being served before taking a seat at the table.
  41. 06[11:11] * John_Douglas just grabs a bowl with some soup, passing everything else up. He sits a bit away from Toru, but within earshot.

  43. 01[11:12] <@Geremy-Tibbles> It looks like 'steak in gravy , peas and carrots, and mashed potatoes. The soup's some kind of thick beef and barley concoction.
  44. 06[11:12] * Gabby_Glorie-Gaudet gets a tray of food and sits. She sits down at the end of the table, giving herself some breathing room.
  45. 06[11:12] * Gabby_Glorie-Gaudet sighs and closes her eyes. Being able to see is a bit overwhelming. She eats in comforting darkness.
  46. 06[11:12] * Toru_Yamato is surprisingly hungry after, well, killing people. "So, we're headed out in about an hour you said?" He questions in between bites.
  47. 01[11:13] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The commander puts out his cigar and sticks it in a silver tube and slips it back in his jacket. "Yes, if all goes well. We'll be pushing south through the Congo. The objective is to blitz as hard as we can to make sure the Feddies have to through hell to get us off the planet."

  73. 06[11:23] * David_Jones clicks onto the girl's frequency, but waits a few more moments. If this is what it sounds like, someone else might respond to her first.

  77. 01[11:24] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You hear someone unfamiliar come over the radio. "Keep the chatter down, and quit freaking out. I know it's your first combat drop but you just need to relax."

  80. 06[11:25] * Val_Petya figures out how to talk just to David. "David, is it? Where are we?"
  81. 01[11:26] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You can hear a voice that wasn't the other. You don't seem able to talk back to it. It's practically in the background. "Clearing blockade."

  115. [11:34] <David_Jones> "No, this isn't a dream. Not Instru- ah fuck." He switches channels to what he thinks is the squad frequency. "Sir! Should we be getting ready to bail out?"

  117. [11:35] <Val_Petya> "No, I fell asleep in the plug. I just had a dream where I met the child form of my parents from an alternate universe."
  118. 01[11:35] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Whatever you're in starts shaking again, like it's hitting something, until it finally hits something bigger. Hard. You're jostled and hear metal scraping and grinding.
  119. 06[11:35] * Val_Petya flails at the controls. "TURN THE DISPLAY ON!"
  120. 06[11:35] * David_Jones flips back to Val. "Let's save the talk for later and concentrate on not getting smeared. I don't think this thing is going to be as- ugh!"
  121. 01[11:36] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Whatever you're in slides for a big and then stops. There's silence for a while.
  122. 06[11:36] * David_Jones hunts around for a release switch to what he assumes are the docking clamps.
  123. 01[11:36] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Eventually the comms start up again. "Everyone okay?"
  124. 06[11:37] * David_Jones clicks back to squad. "Jones here, I'm conscious. Would be nice to power up and get free, though."

  126. 01[11:37] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You hear something whirr on slowly and suddenly you have light.
  127. [11:37] <Val_Petya> "YEah, still here..." She blinks in the light.
  128. 01[11:37] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Your Zaku BWONGS and you can see a metal pannel infront of you, a small amount of space between you and it.
  129. 01[11:38] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You hear a hiss and suddenly the pannel is thrown away, but not far. It crashes into some trees.
  130. [11:38] <Val_Petya> "Bwong. Well, it beats the howling that I susally hear."
  131. 01[11:39] <@Geremy-Tibbles> "What?"
  132. 06[11:39] * David_Jones hms and starts working the arm controls.
  133. 01[11:40] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The arms move. David, you have an unusual looking rifle in your hands.
  134. [11:41] <David_Jones> "Ah good. Mech is operational. Moving out."
  135. 06[11:41] * Val_Petya tries to stand, working the arm and foot pedals."
  136. 06[11:41] * David_Jones gets into the feel of things and surges his Zaku forward, stumbling a bit as he gets used to things.

  138. 01[11:42] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You can walk you. Your Zaku is just above the treeline. You see another Zaku walk out of the front. "Shit, we lost Beardsly and we're *way* the fuck off course."
  139. 06[11:42] * Val_Petya takes an unsteady step forward.
  140. [11:42] <Val_Petya> "So... Where to?"
  141. 06[11:42] * David_Jones takes a look behind him to see who else is in his pod.
  142. 01[11:43] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The other Zaku looks at you. "Weird paint schemes. You guys Aces?"
  143. [11:43] <Val_Petya> "I guess you could say that. We're... from a different school."
  144. [11:43] <David_Jones> "Practical joke, I'd rather not talk about it."

  148. 06[11:44] * David_Jones he hops down from his landing pod and starts walking toward the normal suit. "Alright, we know where we- oh great there's bad guys aren't there?"

  151. 06[11:45] * Val_Petya switches to David's channel. "This is like something out of one of my Giant Robo animes..."

  153. 06[11:46] * Val_Petya switches back. "What are we looking for?"

  155. 06[11:46] * David_Jones fiddles around with his controls, looking to focus on the radar thingie. "Let's get into the trees then. The less line of sight the better."
  156. 06[11:47] * David_Jones flips to Val's channel. "I don't think these things are going to be anywhere near as tough as an Eva, so don't get your ass killed, alright?"
  157. 01[11:47] <@Geremy-Tibbles> There is silence
  158. [11:47] <Val_Petya> "Got it. We'd better move." She stomps towards the trees.
  159. 01[11:48] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Suddenly a beam of pink energy comes out of the trees up ahead. It tears through the other pilot's cockpit. "Argh!" it explodes.
  160. 01[11:49] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The smoldering legs and part of the chest that remain fall backwards into the HLV.
  161. [11:49] <Val_Petya> "SHIT RUN!"
  162. 06[11:49] * Val_Petya begins to run for cover.
  163. [11:50] <David_Jones> "...positron weaponry, grand."
  164. 06[11:55] * Val_Petya pulls one of the triggers on the hand grips, then freaks out as the Zaku LURCHES forward.
  165. 01[11:55] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Infront of you, whatever just fired is likely still there, behind you you see the tree line break at somewhere around 100-120dm
  166. 01[11:57] <@Geremy-Tibbles> David, your radar shows a blip, 80dm to your front.
  167. [12:00] <David_Jones> "The sniper is less than a kilometer to the front!" Taking one ponderous step forward, David then pulls a trigger and BOUNDS across the ground, making it almost all the way in one movement.
  168. 01[12:00] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Daivid breaks through trees as he boosts forward.
  169. 06[12:02] * David_Jones stomps closer, chuckling loudly. "Well, at least I still have float."
  170. [12:04] <Val_Petya> "David, behind you! I'm firing a missile!" She fires at the general direction of the sniper (the shot goes wide) and boosts behind the wreckage. She looks at the crushed Zaku to see if it has a rifle.
  171. 01[12:04] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The crushed Zaku isn't even out of the pod. You'd have to move it up somehow and pry the door off.
  172. 01[12:04] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The destroyed Zaku dropped a MMP90 with no spare mags
  173. 01[12:08] <@Geremy-Tibbles> David, you see figures move a few dm infront of you. The move out left and right. As the move, you take fire from their center, machinegun this time.
  174. 06[12:10] * David_Jones rocks a bit as his leg takes a few hits. "Ha! You're going to have to do better than that!"
  175. 01[12:10] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The bullets do minimal damage to your left leg, but they seem to be rather weak.
  176. [12:10] <Val_Petya> "Not bad. These Zakus are tougher than they look."
  177. 06[12:11] * Val_Petya peers around the wreckage and looks at the fallen Zaku's rifle. "I need that. GOD DAMNIT I miss my AT Field."
  178. [12:12] <David_Jones> "Alright, I'm out of claws, but let's see how you like a fist to the face!" The Zaku pounds forward right at the machine who fired at him, left hand pulled back to slam into it.
  179. 01[12:13] <@Geremy-Tibbles> David, you competely miss a robot, much sleeker than yours and 'thinner'. It's painted in camoflauge and is holding a large rifle with a cable attached to a truck. It looks at you.
  180. 06[12:16] * Val_Petya reaches back for a reload for her bazooka, and finds a similar rifle. "I'm an idiot..." she mumbles to herself. She drops the bazooka and reaches for the rifle, loading it. "Hang on a little longer, David!"
  181. [12:17] <David_Jones> "Don't worry about me, take out his buddies!"
  182. 01[12:17] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The GM staring at you opens fire again, but only a single shot. It moves back 6 dm and the truck holding it's cable moves with it.
  183. 01[12:17] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The shot misses.
  184. [12:17] <Val_Petya> "Working on it. Gotta load this stupid thing..."
  185. 01[12:18] <@Geremy-Tibbles> David, you take fire from your left. It cuts apart some trees near you, but it misses you. It's roughly 40dm to your left.

  187. 06[12:22] * David_Jones snorts as the GM opens itself up to a burst of fire. "What an idiot."
  188. 01[12:23] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The Gm does the machinegun shuffle as it moves backwards, rattling from the fire. It's riddled with bullet holes, but it's not dead yet.
  189. [12:28] <David_Jones> "Alright, let's keep you bottled up, huh?" He dashes forward again, delivering a riflebutt to the GM's shoulder.
  190. 01[12:28] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You scuff the paint. It looks cross.
  191. 01[12:28] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Somehow.
  192. [12:28] <David_Jones> "I'm keeping the sniper occupied! Use your sonar to find its friends and take them out!"

  194. 06[12:36] * Val_Petya taps a button on her sonar and sees several little dots show up.
  195. 01[12:36] <@Geremy-Tibbles> Val, your sweep hits David and the Sniper, obivously, but also a target about 40 meters to your rear.
  196. 06[12:37] * Val_Petya fires a round into the forest and hears a PLINGK noise.
  197. [12:38] <Val_Petya> "Got the other one right here!" She readies herself to fire again.

  199. 01[12:39] <@Geremy-Tibbles> You hear a fwoosh
  200. 01[12:39] <@Geremy-Tibbles> And a pale pink light that grows quickly.
  201. 01[12:40] <@Geremy-Tibbles> A GM comes clashing out of the forest with a small bullethole on it's left arm it slashes out at you with a beamsword
  202. 01[12:42] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The sword cuts a small swatch through your right leg.
  203. 01[12:43] <@Geremy-Tibbles> David, you take a hail of fire from your left
  204. 06[12:43] * Val_Petya nearly gets out of the way, but gets caught by the blade.
  205. 01[12:44] <@Geremy-Tibbles> The shots zero in with lethal precision! But...
  206. 06[12:46] * David_Jones hearing the unfamiliar sound of a lock on warning, David pushes the control stick forward, getting him closer to the sniper, where an enemy would want to not shoot.

  208. 06[12:50] * David_Jones switches his gun to his left hand and reaches back to draw what his 'heat hawk', whatever the fuck that is. He slashes out at the sniper, but is just a few feet short. "Fuck. Forgot that I don't have my chainsword."

"I said surrender while you still have a chance! You're outnumbered and you have a chance at life!"

  483. [14:22] <David_Jones> "Got some more room in this party?" David comes down almost right after Gabby, feathering his jets to spin in midair and land with his axe lodged in the GM's arm. He wrenches it away and the arm flies off. "I think I'm getting the hang of this."

  485. 06[14:23] * Val_Petya jets over to the fallen GM and pops a shot off at the remaining arm's shoulder, removing it cleanly. "There. Maybe he'll give up."
  486. [14:24] <David_Jones> The eye of David's Zaku swivels around to look at the group of Zakus surrounding the crippled GM.

  711. 06[15:00] * Val_Petya holsters her bazooka, but doesn't drop it.

  722. 06[15:02] * Val_Petya holds her rifle above her head.
