If you are here you have an interest in the World Anvil [www.worldanvil.com] world building suite and have followed the links to its accompanying community. Here is a beginners guide to our discord server:

===MEET THE GANG===

There are a few key people to be aware of in the server:

+ @World Anvil Team - Janet & Dimitris are the dynamic developing duo for World Anvil, they run it and code it. It helps that they are approachable and friendly too!
+ @Forge Father - Raka is our resident System Admin, he runs the Discord server, have a support question or suggestion? #discord-meta is where you should be.
+ @Community Moderator - These are our resident moderators who comb the channels making sure the peace is kept, feel like you need a mod? Either @ them or PM them, they will always help.

===SERVER MAP===

The server is divided into 5 distinct categories:
+ SERVER - In this category you will find the rules, announcements and anything important that the @World Anvil Team need you to see.

+ COMMUNITY - In here you will find the General chat rooms, everyone starts in #worlds-end-inn be sure to drop by #introduce-yourself and post a small post about yourself. This is where all general chats tend to be, want to chat about the latest game or post memes? This is where you want to be.

+ WORLD ANVIL - This category is exclusively for world building and discussion about World Anvil. In here you will find the popular #worldbuilding channel for general discussion and the #inspiration channel for if you just need a little help to get going.

+ DEVELOPMENT - Here to just see the @World Anvil Team working on the development of World Anvil or report a bug? This is the category for you. We only ask that you don't disturb Dimitris too much as he is always hard at work! Ping him once and wait.

+ PROJECTS - Last and by no means least is the project category, ongoing events and competitions are posted here, check the pinned messages in each channel for more information!

===GENERAL TIPS===

+ If you head to #servitor-interface you can self assign yourself some roles to indicate you want to help the community out.

+ Need help from someone experienced with World Anvil or need some help with a topic try #worldanvil-support? Or tag an @Anvil Assistant these are dedicated members of the community happy to help.

+ Need to speak to a moderator? Tag @Community Moderator to grab their attention.

+ Want to just chat socially and post bad memes? That's #smiths-bar for you. And as a note, the only place adult language is tolerated.

+ Self-moderation is a principle of this server, if you feel a conversation would be better suited in #mapmaking than #worlds-end-inn feel free to suggest to the people part of the conversation to move it there. No one will get mad, as it helps keep the conversations in the right place.

+ Remember that what might be obvious to you may take a little while for others. You may need to explain some concepts to others you never thought you would, we have a great mix of fantasy, science fiction and many other writers all from different faiths, backgrounds, political leanings and countries. Patience is key as is understanding.
