- I started the quest by talking to Alec Kincade outside of the Myths' Guild near Corsair Cove (rimmington ship)
- I asked how I could join the guild and he said I needed to discover where dragons came from, why they were here, and who they served
- If I help fill the library of knowledge then they will give me access to the guild and the rewards inside
- He told me to head to Karamja Wines, Spirits, and Beers at Musa Point
- There I would find Dallas Jones who is investigating the destruction of Crandor
- I took the Amulet of Glory Karamja Teleport to get to Musa Point
- I talked to Dallas Jones and he said we were to head to Elvarg's Lair beneath Crandor and there we will begin a research project on Elvarg
- I walked through the back entrance through the Karamja Volcano to get to Crandor near Elvarg
- We went into Elvarg's Lair and I saw Dallas Jones hanging around there
- Apparently Elvarg is unusual since she lives alone and most of her kind live in large groups
- She was also way more aggressive than most dragons since she directly attacked crandor and strayed well outside her territory
- He told me to look around and see what I could find in here home
- I found a blockage directly next to Dallas Jones on the wall, I mined through it with my pickaxe
- We found a laboratory looking room, it seemed to confirm Elvarg was created by a Dragonkin
- I found an Ancient Mural with images of dragons and fungi with the world Lithkren
- I found notes talking about subjects, one subject did not reject the spores of the experiment
- The subject displayed heightened aggression as desired, but strength unchanged and mental capacity limited
- Their work had apparently outgrown this small facility and they moved on
- So apparently they want to make aggressive, strong, and smart dragons
- Lithkren was mentioned in a book on fossil island apparently, it's a place
- Fossil island is also coated in Fungi which could be related
- Dallas told me to head to the settlement on the house on the hill, so I teleported there with my digsite pendant
- I went down the trapdoor in the southeastern portion of the room and found Dallas
- Lithkren is apparently an island nearly to Fossil Island, the book is behind hte ladder and the grid on the floor is probably a map
- Dallas found some of the map pieces lying around, there are 24 pieces left to find in this building or very close by
- I found 5 map pieces in the northern chest in the room
- I spent 100 numulites on an upstairs chest and found a scribbled note that said:
- The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
- Similar to that observed in the birthing pool, the
- spore on this ialdn have the potential to inhabit
- the host, creating a symbiotic relationship between
- fungus and creature.
- I spent 100 numulites on an upstairs chest and found a partial note that said:
- I have witnessed the first hand. The young are
- deliberately left beneath colonies of the spore until
- they pass out, choking. A violent affair, but one I
- have grown to understand is necessary. Perhaps
- my own concerns of the treatment of subject 1
- were invalid. Pain has its place in the needs for
- advancement.
- I searched a stone chest in the northern part of upstairs and found 3 map pieces
- I searched a mushtree outside to the east and found 5 map pieces
- I spent 100 numulites on the northern chest I already opened and found an ancient note that said:
- I have been impressed how quickly my creatures
- have evolved, the others will have to listen now!
- Again, the similarities to the gearic are so frequent,
- there must be an academic explanation. Several
- have formed territories based on the spore colonies
- that inhabit them, and the mutations are consistent
- based on geography. Much like ourselves, it was
- only a matter of time before a divide formed.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found some ancient writings that said:
- The zygemite experiment and its effect on
- location could be explored here, if the spore
- colonies could be removed in part. Part of me is
- jealous of the union, I feel alone. My work keeps
- me sane.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found an experimental note that said:
- I have noted that my language, or beauty of
- writing has improved tremendously since being
- alone. The opposite of what would be expected. If
- enjoy the flourish of description, opposed to the
- blunt practical methods of my education. It eases
- my mind.
- There is nothing a mother wouldnt to do ensure
- the safety of her children.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found a paragraph of text that said:
- Despite several attempts, I have failed to find a
- way to encourage the spore to inhabit my own
- body. Ingestion, airborne saturation, each leads to
- involuntary, forceful expulsion and hallucinogenic
- stupor. Permanent damage will likely follow if I
- continue to experiment.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found a musty smelling note that said:
- A miraculous discovery today - a pool, capable of
- rapid calcification. One of the young stumbled into
- it, looking for refreshment. The look of terorr in
- its eyes chilled me to the bone as its soft tissue
- grew rigid - it reached down to free its feet and
- it drowned in its own, solidified saliva. Its body
- serves as a powerful marker of the dangers of
- this island. We have witnessed such things before,
- but never at this rate.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found a hastily scrawled note that said:
- I discovered more eggs today, deep beneath the
- surface. Smaller than the first, but white hot, the
- color not diminishing when cooled. What am I to
- do? Release more for research, or hide them so
- they may avoid the fate of the first? I am torn.
- He must not know. His arrogance cannot save
- us.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found a old writing that said:
- I believe my presence here is causing unrest in
- the creatures. Whilst at first they kept distance,
- they are beginning to display violently towards
- me, no doubt linked to the growing conflicts
- between their tribes. Perhaps I am a trophy to
- prove dominance? Nevertheless, they are not yet
- evolved to penetrate my skin.
- I spent 100 numulites on the southern chest and found a paragraph of text that said:
- Is this chemical warfare? Observations recorded
- today included a bizarre sight - a spore clump
- used as a weapon of sorts which blinded and
- paralyzed. I must be careful.
- Well I completed the collection log for the fossil island notes, but that didn't really help me find any map pieces
- I found 4 map pieces in some fungi north of the stairs
- I found the rest of the map pieces in the briar directly north of the bridge
- Now after giving all the map pieces to Dallas I have to complete a sliding puzzle of the map?
- Nope I can drag pieces and I need to drag them to the correct place, but I can also rotate them
- I am getting help from Memesley, Joe, and my brother, so hopefully that's allowed
- EVENTUALLY with a huge team effort and starting from the main island and then connecting the colored bits, we managed to complete the map
- I put the completed map in a screenshot png file in this folder as well
- Dallas bets that the other marked island is Lithkren which means it is the red island to the northwest
- Find a dwarf named Jardric on the island who owes him a favor, and he should be able to get us there
- I found Jardric right by the rowboat near the main digsite area
- Apparently all the boats are owned by the museum so we need to build our own boat
- We need:
- 8 oak planks
- 10 swamp paste
- 12 nails of any kind
- A hammer and a saw
- A good spot for the boat should be the west side of the island near the mushroom, I brought the stuff there and built it
- I said I was ready to find the truth about Elvarg, and we arrived at Lithkren by the rowboat
- I went into the island up and down some stairs and we came to a door with a circular indentation in the middle, possibly a keyhole
- I found an old book on the burned skeleton to the east
- It detailed how they were coming to beat the dragons and they had Robert the Strong with them so they felt unstoppable
- I told Dallas about this and said I could use my catspeak amulet to talk to Bob and ask him about the door
- I had to use the stupid locate feature on my catspeak amulet since Bob wasnt at either of the places I found him last time
- It seemed like he was southwest of Burthorpe so I went to Ardougne, which he was northeast of, so I went to Camelot
- He was to the southeast so I went to Catherby and he was to the northeast...?
- I found Bob and Neite hanging out east of the Catherby bank in the archery shop
- Bob agreed to meet me in Sophanem so I went to the fairy ring DLQ and ran south to there to meet with the Sphinx to hypnotize him again
- The Sphinx talked with Bob about giving me the ability to talk to cats even without the catspeak amulet
- Since I've proven myself a friend of feline kind they decided to grant me this ability
- The Oneiromancer on lunar isle once helped me enter someones mind, so she could do it for this to help us find bobs memory of the dungeon
- I made sure to bring my seal of passage so she wouldn't tell me to fuck off
- I need another potion of shared dreaming, so I need water, a ground astral rune, and some goutweed
- Thankfully I grabbed some spare goutweed the last time I had to do this just in case, I also need a tinderbox to light the brazier
- I lit the brazier and talked to Bob once I had the potion, and I used the dream potion on the brazier
- There was a cat inside called not bob, and he explained the barrier represented the divide between bob the cat and robert the strong
- Going into that section only gives us access to the memories while in the dream, so we need to destroy the barrier by going through and beating the guardian
- Remember that in shared dreams you can permanently die and lose our items, so we need to be careful, I probably can't use prayer here either
- I took my typical ranged setup to deal with Robert, hopefully that's a good move
- I was able to talk to bob to just go back into the dream thankfully, so I didn't have to make the potion again after leaving
- I was able to use prayer though it didn't seem to do much, and he said that using ranged against him wouldn't work, so melee it is
- He did an attack every so often where I had to hide behind the pillars to avoid it, he would shout beforehand
- I defeated Robert the Strong and unlocked bobs memories, we saw a fight where the four heroes defeat a Dragonkin
- The Dragonkin had a key that supposedly had something dangerous behind it, so they split the key into four pieces
- They vowed that the dragonkin would never recover them, and only to return once the war was won
- Camorra took a piece, Tristan took one, and Robert the Strong took two pieces
- Camorra boarded a ship for lands to the far west never to be seen again and took her key piece with her, so the elven lands?
- Tristan passed his piece on to his descendants in his city Saranthium which is now where Varrock is, I should check the library there for any info
- Bob hid one of his pieces in an abandoned dragonkin fortress, it's on a snow covered island northwest of Rellekka
- The final piece he took to Karamja and hid on an ancient temple on the southern coast of the island
- With the dragonkin long gone it should be safe to open the vault but I should still be cautious since the weapon in the vault could be dangerous
- I brought a machete and axe to the southern part of the Karamjan jungle and I cut my way into the southern coast
- I entered the cave that I previously could not enter in the southeastern corner of the island and found an ancient room
- It was a maze where I had to get to the center it seemed, spikes popped out and did like 20 damage to me so I guess I'm not ready for this lmao
- I came back with some energy potions and a lot of food so I'm ready to game now
- I ran around the edge of the middle of the maze to make it around since the only way to the eastern side was to run along the edge of the west side
- There were random spike traps along the entire pathway (BE CAREFUL SINCE THEY STAY AT THE SAME SPOT SO YOU CAN ACCIDENTALLY RUN PAST IT A TON AND TAKE LIKE 60 DAMAGE)
- I protected from Magic most of the time since it seemed like most of the blue guys were in the way and they cast magic
- The green guys seemed to do ranged and the red guys did melee, but they didn't really suck as badly as the magic guys and I only swapped to ranged once
- I took the key piece from the middle of the plinth in the center of the maze and when I activated the plinth again I was teleported outside, one down
- I went to the Varrock Library now to find information on Tristan's piece
- Apparently there is a red book in the library with census information, it doesn't go all the way back though
- I found the Varrock Census records on the eastern double row of bookshelves on the northwestern section
- There was a family name going by Corvo which is Tristan's last name living in Varrock for most of the fourth age
- The last entry is from 1770 in the fourth age, around that time many people left Misthalin to settle in Morytania
- Port Phasmatys is apparently where a lot of them went, so time for ghostspeak amulet and ectophial teleportation
- Sarah Corvo lives in the house next to the bank according to one of the villagers
- I found Sarah in the house with the cooking range to the west of the bank
- Apparently the key piece is gone, when the vampires came to Port Phasmatys she buried it in the swamps to stop them from getting it
- She said the key piece was gone and it'd be best that way, but I knew a scientist in Draynor who could help with this problem
- I talked to Ava in Draynor Manor and said I needed help finding where a key piece was buried
- She needs this to make the device to find the key made of Dragon / Orikalkum:
- Get one cut dragonstone
- Two molten glass
- Use a glassblowing pipe to craft a glass orb with the dragonstone in it
- Bring that to her
- FUUUUCK I DON'T HAVE A CUT DRAGONSTONE
- I know that you can buy one in the Tzhaar gem shop in Mor Ui Rek... time to check I guess how much it's worth
- Nevermind I guess you can't buy one there, where the hell am I going to get one then :(
- Time to do some slayer tasks until I get a key loop half I guess and then I can the taverley chest to get a dragonstone
- I ended up getting the loop half of the key I needed from fire giants in the kourend catacombs on my slayer task
- I opened the chest near the taverley poll booth by using the key on it and got an uncut dragonstone and 100 coal
- I used the cut dragonstone on the 2 molten glass with the glassblowing pipe in my inventory and crafted a locator orb
- I took the orb to Ava and asked for her help with the key again, and then she gave me a completed locator orb
- The orb will pull me in the direction of the key piece but I should be careful with it since it can be unstable
- Ava also said she might be able to upgrade the device more
- The chicken is the weakness at the moment so I may be able to find something with more of a kick to improve it
- Something stronger and a bit more undead apparantly she clarified
- The orb pulled me to the southwest from the ectofuntus and also damaged me when I used it, so I should be careful
- It seems like the key is in the swamp south of Canifis so I took fairy ring CKS to go there
- I found the key piece near the fairy ring inside the swamp, it was southeast of the pound south of the fairy ring
- The orb shook violently and appeared in red text in my chatbox when I was over the spot to dig as well
- The key pieces left are the one Camorra took to the elven lands or at least on a ship to the west
- Also the one Robert the Strong hid on a snow covered island northwest of Rellekka in an abandoned dragonkin fortress
- The snowy island northwest of Rellekka is likely Ungael which seems to have a ship that goes to it somewhere
- The ship to Ungael seems to be the rightmost north facing dock that is not the upper one to Neitiznot
- The ship didn't seem to actually go there so maybe I should talk to Brundt the Chieftan in the main hall first
- Apparently it is a dark place and guarded by a deadly beast, some of their finest warriors tried to take it down to no success
- He's calling me Ballor Drapare now, is this because I completed the Fremennik Exiles?
- He told me to go see Torfinn on the docks, and he would take me to Ungael, guess I need my gear though
- I took my ranged gear setup with an antidragon shield just in case
- I took some house tablets as a one click escape just in case (and also so I could get there with my waterbirth island portal)
- I then took a couple prayer potions and the rest was food, let's see how this goes
- Torfinn said the island was guarded by a deadly foe that spit fire at its enemies, oh boy
- My character remarked that fire protection would be useful, unfortunate I can't make antifire potions yet (66 herblore)
- Going inward I saw a dragon called Vorkath sitting in the center, I'll pray Magic as well just in case
- Well I died, here's what I learned:
- Has 460 health
- Shoots different projectiles that may have different prayer options (didn't get to test)
- Shoots venom projectiles so may want some antipoison or something
- Shoots a freezing projectile and then spawns an ad that blows up so I'll want to shoot them and also try to run away
- Sprays poison everywhere and then shoots MANY flame projectiles in a row, for like many seconds straight at you
- This is the attack that killed me so be prepared to teleport away if you start feeling overwhelmed
- I had 27828 Unpowered Orbs in my bank from my crafting grind, so I decided to take 12828 orbs out to put into deaths coffer to retrieve my items
- Nevermind apparently death will not accept items worth less than 10k coins per individual item
- I decided to put 98 purple sweets in instead for 13381 each as they were worth 12744 at the time
- Maybe this is a mistake but I don't plan to use them anytime soon and my cash stack is more valuable to me
- With deaths coffer filled I was ready to give the boss another go, this time with less dying hopefully
- I had to pay 100k to retrieve my items but it was a worth it price considering the lost items tbh
- As soon as he sprays poison everywhere you REALLY need to move, I basically immediately started taking damage since I hadn't started moving
- The 1 click teleports were absolutely worth it as well, and I took antipoison this time to see if it worked against the venom
- Okay, here are the things I've learned from my even longer fight versus Vorkath:
- I tried praying ranged versus the spiky balls but it didn't seem to work, I have no idea if I'm even able to pray after the attack happens
- If there's some sort of tell for what I'm supposed to pray against I have no idea
- The green flame venoms you, so I'll definitely need some better antipoison like super antipoison idek
- The purple flame disables your prayers but you can just turn them on again so thats okay
- I was out of run energy and tried dodging the poison arena + flame attack and found I was able to do that even while walking
- Tbh I've seen videos of that but I would've found it out anyways at some point so whatever
- I need to deal as much dps as possible so praying Eagle Eye is a good idea
- When you get frozen you just need to hit the thing walking towards you and you will be fine, focus on dps after hitting it once since it just dies
- Time to see how super antipoison works against this boss I suppose
- What I learned from this fight:
- Super antipoison does NOT clear the venom fully, so it's basically the same as normal antipoison for this fight
- You SHOULD NOT leave by the rocks at the bottom, I almost died again since it fucking asks you if you want to leave before exiting
- I definitely don't have a good enough food source for this fight, so I need to find a better one rather than making pineapple pizzas
- In terms of food though it really feels like it's Karambwans or Pineapple Pizza so maybe I'll just have to suck it up and buy more pizzas
- I need to figure out if I can dodge the spike attack somehow because it does an absolutely insane amount of damage
- I'm going to take some food and no gear there just to see if using the ranged or melee style the entire time prevents the damage
- What I learned from the no gear fight:
- I couldn't tell if there was some way to know what attack they were going to use
- Using protect from range did in fact prevent the damage from the spikey ball though
- Also if not stated previously, protect from magic prevented the damage from the basic blue fire as well
- In terms of my gear I am definitely weighted more towards ranged defense so I guess I'll stick to protecting magic
- I really feel like I'm not dealing enough dps to this guy, but lets see one more attempt to figure out how much damage I'm doing really
- What I learned from my last attempt for now:
- I don't stand a fucking chance man, I barely hit this guy and only got him to like 388/460
- To be fair I also learned that he heals when you walk into his poison, so he may even be healing at other parts I didn't notice
- Either way my hit rate is ass, so I need some better accuracy from somewhere...
- I do technically have a single ranging potion but that obviously is not going to cut it
- I can't really swap out my weapon either since it's just the best ranged weapon I have
- I could try melee since that likely has better dps but I doubt that would go well at all, still worth a shot I guess?
- The Crystal Bow is a possible option but I would be losing my antifire shield and I have no idea what happens then, I guess lets test that
- Even if this works though it's only like a +10 accuracy upgrade and slight speed upgrade with a ranged strength downgrade from broad bolts
- What I learned from trying to tank Vorkath without my antidragon shield:
- It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but...
- Without the antidragon shield, the red flame attacks that were previously doing little damage did quite a lot
- With protect from magic they definitely did less, but they were doing almost nothing with the antidragon shield
- I would need a significant dps upgrade for it to be worth dropping the antidragon shield
- Thoughts on improvement:
- Check if a ring of recoil works, it's better than keeping a ring of wealth or some crap on you, will likely do the full 40 damage
- Check for possible better defensive gear like Karils, it would be something of a defensive improvement
- Pre-pot a defense potion for better defense as well?
- Ruby bolts would be incredibly strong for this fight, they deal 20% of the targets current health and also have similar ranged strength to broad bolts
- It could do up to 92 damage, though it has a very low proc chance so I could be rolling for a while, it would be nice to avoid having to use these
- Diamond bolts aren't bad either, they increase my dps in two ways, they increase my max hit when they proc as well as turn a miss into a successful hit
- Given how much I miss these would be a good dps increase, Ava's Accumulator would retrieve both of these for me as well I believe
- I'm going to need a lot of antipoison, I can buy it from Sophanem or the Karamja Tai Bwo Wannai shops or make it myself (annoying unicorn dust)
- It may seem pointless but the antipoison is way better than food since the poison is definitely going to do more damage over time than that
- NEVER toggle run in this fight, it's annoying to toggle off and there's never a reason to need it, and it will mess you up in the running phase
- I need to figure out something meaningful to do in the running phase
- Every time I try to hit the boss in it I take damage so I should try to figure out if there is a way I can deal damage without taking it
- Thankfully in the case of the super defense potions I can barely make them now with 66 herblore, I just need to grow white berries
- I can't make ruby tipped or diamond tipped adamantite bolts yet so I need to level up my fletching skill to 65 unfortunately
- I had a lot of steel bars so I decided to make steel arrows to get my levels up since I was already level 63 anyways after using my maple logs
- I had a refight and learned some stuff:
- I just got really unlucky on the last fights, I managed to take him down to 215 health out of 460 which is a lot better
- With really lucky ruby bolt procs on entering the fight as well as diamond bolts I could probably take him out if I had some good rng
- Nevermind I decided to use broad arrowheads instead as that would give me more experience per 15 arrows crafted
- You get 10 experience per arrow so I would need about 5500 arrowheads to get 55k experience and 65 fletching
- I smelted all my Adamant Ore at the Blast Furnace and got 139 bars to use for my bolts
- I then chiseled my rubies and diamonds into bolts to be used on the adamant bolts, I made 300 of each
- Then I made the 600 adamant bolts and used feathers on them to complete them, then the bolt tips and enchanted them in my spellbook
- For food I made pineapple pizzas by buying pineapples from charter ships and plain pizzas from the warriors guild
- For antipoison I bought some in Sophanem since they stocked 20 there and that would be a lot of trips even just going there twice
- I used the back in the lower part of the church there as a close deposit as well, the antipoison vendor was the spice shop
- With all of that, my loadout was set:
- Ranged Gearset W/ Antidragon shield and Ring of Recoil
- Ruby Bolts Initially
- Diamond Bolts Swap at 200 hp
- 1 Prayer Potion
- 2 Antipoison
- Rest Pineapple Pizzas
- I'm now using the amulet of glory for my teleport out of the arena since I'm a lot more confident I won't instantly die with no warning
- That may come back to bite me but I enjoy having the same inventory slots as I did before now that I have the bolt switch
- I dropped a pizza off at waterbirth island with my teleport so I could still use the portal from my house and have full food
- I got him down to about 126 health and learned this:
- Disable prayer during the firing phase to save it and make it so we can last the fight with only one prayer potion
- Pre-drink our ranging potion to have a higher accuracy
- Swap diamond bolts at around 200 hp
- Try not to eat or drink until the firing phase to give as many shots as possible
- Pre-drink a super defense potion to have better defense
- Getting 3 or more bolt procs while also taking minimal damage from the ranged attack is ideal
- The probability of getting 3 or more bolt procs is 1 minus the probability of getting 0, 1, or 2 bolt procs exactly
- If I shoot 50 times, this is the probability of getting 3 or more bolt procs:
- 0 procs is (1 - 0.06)^50 * (50 choose 0) = 0.04533
- 1 procs is (1 - 0.06)^49 * (0.06) * (50 choose 1) = 0.14467
- 2 procs is (1 - 0.06)^48 * (0.06)^2 * (50 choose 2) = 0.22624
- So the odds of getting 3 or more procs is greater than 50% at 0.58376 odds
- I managed to defeat Vorkath barely with some excellent play
- Disabling prayer in the middle of the rotations and getting good hits in as well as dodging the attacks near perfectly and healing mainly in the poison dodging phase
- I went past Vorkath and found a cave down below where I picked up a lot of old notes, on the west side I found a lever which opened the door on the east side
- Inside the chamber on the east side I found the key piece as well as an ancient key which I don't know what it goes to
- I didn't want to leave because I was afraid I wouldn't be allowed past again but venom damage hurt so I left
- When I came back thankfully Vorkath was still dead, I need to find something to cut his head off with to upgrade my accumulator like Ava said
- Nothing I used worked to cut his head off so I have no idea, maybe I need to ask Ava first
- Ava's Assembler requires completion of Dragon Slayer II apparently going by Ava's menu so nevermind
- My only hint as to where Camorra went is that they boarded a ship for lands to the far west never to be seen again, and she took the key piece with her
- She may be on Kourend since I got nothing out of the elven lands before so I'll go check around there for a bit to see if anyone knows
- Maybe I can talk to the three guys on Mount Karulm to see if they know anything about her
- To the east was a place called The Forsaken Tower, maybe that's it?
- I couldn't enter there but maybe there's something in the Arceuus library that I could ask someone about
- I teleported to the old historical archives and talked to Imerominia and asked her if she had ever heard of Camorra
- They said that the records didn't go back that far (2000 years) but someone may be able to help me
- Apparently the five cities of Kourend have their own historian who may have more information on the earlier days of their city
- Hosidius and Shayzien were the two cities founded during the Dragonkin Conflicts and could be the best to start with, the others were earlier during the God Wars
- Jonathan is the Hosidius historian west of the general store, Amelia is the Shayzien historian who lives southwest of the pub
- Apparently all the early Hosidius settlers were pacifists so she wouldn't have been here
- I talked to Amelia and she said that Shayzien was founded by those fleeing the Dragonkin Conflicts so there is a good chance she is connected to them
- Much of their history was lost during Xeric's reign but I may be able to find info in the Shayzien Crypts that were built before the kingdom existed
- Some of the oldest Shayzien Heroes are buried there, but the crypts are overrun by the dead
- It's filled with zombies and skeletons, the entrance to the crypts is west of here in the Graveyard of Heroes
- I needed a light source to go down anyways so I went to grab one and some equipment to get through like ropes and such
- I took a tinderbox, candle, rope, spade, pickaxe, axe, chisel, and hammer
- I took some prayer potions and super energy potions as well as some wood
- I first ran south to go down the stairs as that seemed to be the only way down
- I was protecting from magic as it seemed to be the primary damage though I sometimes swapped to ranged or melee depending on circumstance
- Then I ran to the northwest and then down so I could go down the western ladder
- Once inside I ran east and ran around the rubble so I could get into the safety spot in the center with the tomb
- Once inside the center area I inspected the tomb and saw it was the tomb of Camorra Shayzien founder of the Shayzien House
- As I inspected the inscription on the tomb I noticed the plaque was loose so I removed it revealing a second inscription:
- It was on that fateful day that they met: the heroes Robert, Camorra,
- Tristan, and Aivas. They came from across the land to sit at the round
- table and plan their victory. Camorra came from the town of
- Saranthium and sat next to the one with a bow. (Robert) The one from Arkney
- sat at the north of the table, opposite the one with the sword. The one
- with an axe asked the one to their right what the journey from Karville
- was like. Suddenly, Robert stood up, surprising the one from
- Zartharim on his left. Tristan was showing off his sword when the
- crossbow wielder next to him called for silence. By the end of the
- night the plan had been made and they prepared for the wars to come.
- But who sat where?
- It seems on the plinths I need to place objects that represent the people in the inscription at the proper locations
- There were busts on the corners that I could take as well, so I took one of each to place on the plinths
- Tristan was showing off his sword, and the one from Arkney sat north opposite from the sword, so Tristan is at the southern plinth
- Robert probably did not surprise Tristan, and Robert also sat next to Camorra, so my assumption is Robert sat at the northern part of the table
- Now it's pretty much a 50-50, I don't think Camorra used an axe and the one with an axe asked about the journey to Karville
- Which is not Robert so it is Tristan, so I assume the one with an axe was Aivas on the west
- That was incorrect, so it was not:
- Robert North
- Tristan South
- Camorra East
- Aivas West
- Tristan is definitely to the south, and the crossbow user is Camorra, so maybe it's the same layout but Camorra is to the west?
- Since Camorra is sitting next to Robert, there are only so many combinations
- Robert on the west means that Camorra must be to the north
- Robert on the north means east or west and east was wrong clearly
- Robert on the east means that Camorra must be to the north
- This means I only have to do this up to 3 more times even with random luck to find the correct spots
- Retroactively I should mention I believe I got the ranging potion I used from a grubby chest in Kourend
- It does not appear that Robert was to the north, unfortunate that I failed again
- Well it says that Camorra came from the town of Saranthium, so that means that Tristan is probably from Zartharim and was the one surprised
- Nothing really seems to add up... I keep finding contradictions in the logic here which is kind of annoying, it sort of implies that Tristan is not south?
- Ok lets assume this:
- Tristan South
- Camorra North
- Robert East
- Aivas West
- This doesn't add up, honestly I'm just so confused on what the puzzle solution could be
- This time when running down I went straight east to the northeast and managed to find a ladder that led down
- Nearby to the north was a staircase, and ultimately this seemed like a way more efficient way to run down at least
- Well my assumption was incorrect, so if Tristan is truly to the south, the only combination left is:
- Tristan South
- Camorra North
- Robert West
- Aivas East
- That didn't work either, now I'm just incredibly confused, maybe I can find some history on the towns they were from?
- I went back to Lithkren and I managed to find Bob, that's great because I was looking for him anyways and the catspeak amulet wouldn't work
- The actual reason I came back was to read the book on the skeleton on the eastern side of the room
- The book was Aivas Diary
- Apparently he lived in Karville going by the book as the scouts came to inform him there were dragonkin abducting beasts north of Karville
- Well knowing Aivas is from Karville may help, lets think about this again
- The one with an axe asked the one to their right what the journey from Karville was like, so Aivas didn't have an axe Camorra did?
- Lets try the first combination again just to make sure I didn't mess up:
- Robert North
- Tristan South
- Camorra East
- Aivas West
- This would mean that:
- Tristan has the sword and is opposite from the north so south
- Robert is from Arkney and sat north opposite from the sword
- Someone with an axe asked the person to their right what their journey from Karville was like... that is not right
- The heroes weapons are a sword, an axe, a crossbow, and a bow though correct?
- Lets just consider where people can and cant be
- We know Aivas and Camorra come from Karville and Saranthium respectively
- The one from Arkney sat at the north of the table, so that is Robert or Tristan
- Tristan is sitting at the south so Robert must be sitting at the North
- The one with an axe asked the one to the right what their journey from Karville was like...
- But Robert doesn't use an axe... bruh this is so fucking annoying it just doesn't make sense
- Ok lets just recap what we know not from the book we got but just the info here itself
- Oh fuck, when I read the inscription again IT HAD ACTUALLY CHANGED, here's what it said now:
- Tristan came from the town of Karville and sat next to the one with a crossbow.
- The one from Zartharim sat at the north of the table, opposite the one with the bow.
- The one with a sword asked the one to their right what the journey from Arkney was like.
- Suddenly, Aivas stood up, surprising the one from Saranthium on his left.
- Robert was showing off his bow when the axe wielder next to him called for silence.
- Who sat where?
- This implies the bow wielder was south which is Robert
- Tristan came from Karville and Camorra came from Saranthium so the one from Zartharim must be Aivas at the north
- Aivas stood up surprising Camorra from Saranthium on his left, so Camorra must be on the east
- By process of elimination then Tristan was on the west
- So it seems the riddle changes when you mess up and you cannot brute force it, interesting to know
- I searched the tomb after putting the busts down on the correct plinths and found the last key piece that I needed
- Not sure what was in the rest of the tomb since it seemed to have a lower part but that isn't necessary to think about now that I have all the key pieces
- I tried to use the key pieces on eachother to form them but apparently I need to reforge it
- I should ask Dallas at Lithkren about this according to the quest guide
- Apparently the key is made out of Orikalkum / Dragon so I'll need something much hotter than a normal furnace to reforge it
- There is a forge built by the dragonkin and they used it to make weapons out of Orikalkum apparently
- He doesn't remember where it is since his memories are hazy though it was guarded by dragons made of solid mithril
- The only place I know of like that is south of the barbarian outpost in the whirlpool near the waterfall quest so away we go
- I went to the south in the cave past the dragons and found an area with three dragon heads and some anvils on the side
- I tried to use the dragon key pieces on the anvils on the side of the forge but it didn't work, the forge needs to be lit somehow
- Maybe if we explore the cave further I can find a way to light the forge or something
- I went up to the mithril dragons through the staircase on the east side near the pit in the main room
- In the center of the dragon area to the west of the staircase I saw a mithril door, this is probably what the ancient key is used to open
- The ancient key describes that it was made out of various metals, including SPECIFICALLY SPECIFIED mithril, so it seems almost obvious actually
- I used the ancient key on the mithril door and it said that it slid in easily, I then walked through the door into a dark area
- In the center of the room was an orb surrounded by what appeared to be dragon heads
- Back to Fossil Island, maybe Bob has some additional dialogue now
- Time to use anything I can think of on the heads and orb I guess just to see if this has anything to do with lighting the forge
- I tried to use a fire spell on the dragon head (fire bolt) and it said that I would need a more powerful fire spell to light that, interesting...
- Well that was the first thing I tried so I didn't even bother with anything else, I got the runes for Fire Wave to use on the dragon heads
- I used fire wave on all three dragon heads that lit the forge to the south
- I needed a hammer to reforge the key so I went to go grab one
- With my hammer I clicked on one of the anvils and reforged the key successfully getting the Dragon Key
- That's a good stopping point, apparently I'm releasing some ancient evil weapon so I should be prepared for a fight or at least an escape method
- I went back to Lithkren with the Dragon Key and went into the basement
- I fit the key into the door and it opened a room, there were some more notes to take and some barriers I couldn't pass through
- I saw the same symbol I saw on Vorkath's island, maybe a dragonkin symbol?
- There was a dragon sitting in a chamber that alarmed Bob who thought we should leave immediately
- In came a dragonkin named Zorgoth who told us the dragon was named Galvek which meant fate
- Dallas Jones wants to know the truth about Elvarg and Crandor
- He locked himself in the facility and was meant to be released but they broke the key so he was stuck in there for hundreds of years
- Apparently Galvek has the ability to control other dragons
- Supposedly only a few Dragonkin wanted to even exterminate humanity but we didn't discriminate in our revenge so he's going to do the same to us
- We need help to deal with this, I should talk to King Roald in Varrock about his army helping us
- I didn't pick up all the notes or look at everything in the chamber, so I should remember to do that
- King Roald wants me to visit:
- King Lathas (Ardougne)
- Chieftan Brundt (Relleka)
- Sir Amik Varze (Falador)
- I found him in the western tower of the white knight castle on the 3rd floor
- King Lathas had no issue with allying with varrock
- I talked to Brundt in Relleka in the main hall and he said he would attend only to show the outerlanders how to kill dragons
- Apparently the Consortium in Keldagrim wont be helping us
- The dragons are amassing at Ungael so we're going to bring the fleet against them to try and protect the civillian population
- I said it was a bad plan but I have no choice to proceed
- Bob wants to discuss something, when I'm ready Torfinn will take me to Ungael to fight Galvek
- Apparently the real fight isn't over until Zorgoth is dealt with
- Dragonkin are immune to most weapons but Galvek is the key to his plan
- Without Galvek Zorgoth has nothing and that will remove his ability to control the army
- I talked to Torfinn and we set off to Ungael with pest control music playing
- I needed a hammer to repair the mast, revitilization potions to heal the warriors, water to douse the fire, and swamp paste to fill leaks
- I repaired as fast as possible and barely made it to the island, the ship got destroyed
- I ended up at Galvek after going through a lot of agility obstacles consuming my health
- Bob took a blast from Galvek for me and died in a single hit, I had to fight a black dragon
- While I was fighting the black dragon galvek killed me in one hit, guess I need to keep dodging
- I had to fight a black dragon, a steel dragon, and then a brutal red dragon while dodging attacks from Galvek that would kill me in a single hit
- I noticed I could walk anywhere on the ship even if it looked broken like the middle part
- If I failed once in the gauntlet I would have to restart as well so I needed to bring resources to clear this fast
- A melee strategy might actually work better for this part, my hit rate on these guys is just dogshit with the crossbow and its insanely boring
- I ended up sticking with range, for the brutal red dragon I just sat at a range and protected from magic to avoid its magical attack
- Once I beat the brutal red dragon, I entered a cutscene where a mithril dragon came out and Zorgoth telling me to give up
- Then my allies came out and started helping me fight the Mithril Dragon who swapped between magic and ranged attacks
- While writing this I then died to Galvek's attack forgetting that it existed once again
- The next gauntlet appeared to be a mithril dragon, an adamant dragon, and a rune dragon
- They used all attack styles and had very good defense
- The adamant dragon would occasionally throw a spitting attack which did an aoe I didn't want to get hit by
- The rune dragon the same as the other metal dragons but also threw out two thing that would follow me and do a lot of damage if they caught up to me
- Because of this I would walk and then when I saw those spawn I would run away with my remaining energy, repeat
- I got the rune dragon to 40 health before having to leave so if I do this again with full food I should be fine
- Using eagle eye prayer is probably not a bad idea either, my allies do a decent bit of damage but not a ton so I do most of it
- I BARELY managed to beat the rune dragon, I started taking an absolutely ridiculous amount of damage at the end but my allies clutched it out somewhat
- The rune dragon also heals as well which was incredibly annoying, but whatever I don't have to do that fight anymore
- Zorgoth said that I would now face the full might of his power, so Galvek time I guess, I really need to teleport out to get more resources
- Two brutal black dragons spawned in the back which it seemed my allies would be busy handling while I killed Galvek
- Before I teleported away I saw that Galvek had 1200 health, I also unlocked the music track The Dragon Slayer
- I know there's absolutely no way that I can face Galvek with my current stats:
- 78 hitpoints
- 74 attack
- 75 strength
- 71 defense
- 76 ranged
- 70 prayer
- 78 magic
- 66 herblore (shit potions)
- A rune crossbow just ain't gonna cut it I suppose... but I at least want to see what this dragon has got for me
- While clearing out my bank I noticed that the notes I got from the chests way back before with my Numelite could be put in a book
- The book was called the Fossil island note book, no clue how I even got it to be honest, I just noticed it had missing pages so I tried
- I suppose now is as good a time as any to head back to Lithkren and see what I can find in the abandoned laboratory
- Going by the notes I just now read from Ungael it seems that Vorkath was created through risidual energy from the Stone of Jas though it wasn't directly involved
- He seemed to be lamenting that Vorkath's were imperfect but still strong, I assume Vorkath means failure in their tongue or something similar to how Galvek means Fate
- I tried to enter the broken doors but the game would not let me, seems those notes are lost at least for now, maybe when the quest is over I can go inside
- With that in mind there was nothing here left to explore (yes I even checked everywhere else around the island)
- I just learned that Ctrl + Click does the opposite of what run setting you have toggled, so you will run if you have walk on and walk if you have run on
- I have no idea how I didn't ever learn this after so long of player, why the hell did nobody tell me this???
- Apparently this has been in the game even pre-osrs around 2006 or 2008 as well, insane that I ever knew
- I only found this out because I was interested in the Vorkath Strategy Guide and what methods they used in it, and saw that as a possible option, crazy interesting
- Apparently a way to attack Vorkath during the firing phase is to attack from outside your range so you move and shoot on the same tick and then move back and repeat
- Apparently the damage of the explosive spawn is based on its remaining health as well so I was in no rush to get away once I had dealt its full health in damage
- What I learned from fighting Galvek the first time:
- Antifire potions would be good to reduce his fire damage, it's very high
- When he throws out fire traps everywhere, don't walk into them, you die instantly
- He does similar stuff to Vorkath, he disables prayers
- He's still doing the overhead fire blasts that I need to dodge or I die
- The tile it lands at is where you are tile wise when you can see it launched, not when the animation initially starts I'm fairly certain
- I went back in again after dying multiple times to the fire trap
- Here's what I learned from the fight:
- HOLY SHIT I GOT HIM TO 208/1200 HEALTH WITH SOME INSANELY LUCKY RNG, HERE'S WHAT I LEARNED
- Ruby bolts procced out the ASS I got so insanely lucky, that's probably not going to happen again
- I went in with potatos and no prayer potions so honestly that was pretty good
- I probably only need a single prayer potion if I'm not going to pray for ranged accuracy, though maybe I should
- Pineapple pizzas are also obviously needed
- Pre potting super defense potions and ranging potions would be good
- If I get to 69 herblore, I could prepot an antifire potion as well and then boost to be able to make ranging potions
- He used an attack where he teleported me to him
- Ctrl click is probably a must use on this fight, I should be walking mode and then Ctrl Click when I need to run
- Precision movement is key for stuff like dodging his fire attacks while not running too far and not panic running into fire traps
- He throws waves down and I should stay in the middle and then bait the fire attacks to dodge them or run through asap
- They come down from the top and bottom parts of the screen and there's one hole to dodge
- He moves around the arena but it doesn't seem to mechanically affect the fight much
- He can melee you, I didn't get hit when he did melee me but I really don't think you want to find out how much damage he can do with it
- He came down into the middle of the arena at the end and turned green, I have no idea what that means but it's probably just to take up space in the arena
- He also threw down a rock at the end which I dodged, not sure what that does
- It seems like these movements correspond to his max health as well
- He moved to the left of the ship at about 75%, to the right at about 50%, and the center at about 25%
- What I learned from my next fight:
- Phase 1 he uses the fire mine attacks where you want to stay in the center
- Phase 2 he has a stats draining attack which I need a super restore potion for
- Phase 3 he uses the wave attack which you need to go to a specific tile to dodge with ctrl + click
- Phase 4 he goes to the center and threw a rock at me though I didn't reach that more than once, and he blocks the center, probably trying to get melee hits
- I need to take a super restore potion for phase 2
- I definitely want to get 69 herblore to make antifire potions and boost for ranging potions
- What I learned from my last fight:
- I managed to push him to the last phase again
- In phase 3 he does some red ranged attack that did an insane amount of damage, protect from range did nothing against it
- It seems phase 1 doesn't really require a phase push, but phases 2 and 3 you really need some good rng to push through them
- I haven't pegged down if phase 4 requires a fast phase push yet
- I decided to complete the Kandarin diary up to hard for the increased proc rate on bolts because why not
- I also decided to do that since I wanted to spend all my diary lamps on herblore so I'm just doing them all
- I'm also putting Miscellania on Full Maple Logs and Half Flax to powerlevel my fletching to 70 for the kandarin diary
- Then that will be swapped to herbs for herblore after so I can hit 69
- FINALLY I boosted my stats several times at 68 fletching and finally got a boost to 73 so I was able to complete the hard kandarin diary
- After doing all the diaries and even a kingdom divided for herblore xp and some super energy potions I reached 69 herblore
- Thankfully I had a lot of Golovanova fruit tops stored up from early thieving training (thanks me from 2 years ago)
- I used those to make botanical pies, with the first bite I cleaned all of my dwarf weeds, and with the second bite I made plenty of ranging potions
- I got the wine of zamorak north of falador by casting telegrab in the temple on the wine
- Now... I am ready
- I'm going to drop pizza at waterbirth like before, and prepot antifire, super defense, and ranging potions before going in
- I'm using my full ranged setup with ruby bolts and a diamond bolt swap, a super restore potion for phase 2, and the rest will entirely be pineapple pizza
- My final inventory was:
- Diamond Bolts Switch
- Ranging Potion
- Antifire Potion
- Super Restore Potion
- Rest Pineapple Pizzas
- I finally managed to defeat Galvek with this setup
- The antifire potion was worth keeping in my inventory since my antifire ran out around the 3rd phase and I definitely took more than 22 damage from fire without it
- The ranging potion was definitely worth it for the dps increase in my mind as well
- I went to the myths guild and told Alec Kinade about my discoveries with the Dragonkin and he was happy to invite me to the guild
- I went inside and upstairs I was able to teleport to every other legends, champions, and heroes guild
- I was also able to buy the myths cape to teleport myself to the guild at any point
- The wrath altar seemed to be to the south as well
- I talked to Ellen on the first floor and she trained me 4 times in combat skills for 25k xp each
- I was also able to charge all my dragonstone jewellery in the basement on the fountain
- Theres dragons in the basement as well which could be convenient for dragon bones
- I refought Vorkath as well after the quest, this time I used a guide because it's technically after the quest
- I took my normal ruby bolts and diamond bolts switch, I took a salve amulet(ei) after imbueing it at emirs arena because it gives huge accuracy and damage bonuses
- My inventory was the diamond bolts, super defense prepot, ranging potion, antifire potion, super restore, 2 antipoisons, crumble undead runes, and pineapple pizzas for the rest
- I used the crumble undead runes on that stupid spawn, I had to make sure to click away to not attack Vorkath since I needed no delay on using crumble undead on it
- I managed to defeat the vorkath refight with some decent luck after dying 4 times, oh I also prayed eagle eye near the end of both fights if I had prayer left
- That's the end of everything I achieved from this quest... it was quite the journey
- Quest Complete
