- Rieno: Hey
- BamBamTheFurry: Hello :3
- Rieno: nice fur
- BamBamTheFurry: ty i made it
- Rieno: Nice
- Rieno: So a couple of things, what do you use to make your textures?
- BamBamTheFurry: I use gimp and photoshop
- Rieno: Alright cool, I'll load up photoshop then
- Rieno: First thing you want to do is check set this http://prntscr.com/7djj9g
- BamBamTheFurry: got that
- Rieno: Next in photoshop you want to make a gradient with a black bottom similar to this http://prntscr.com/7djkda
- Rieno: Width 512, height 256
- BamBamTheFurry: do you use that with the neon mat.xrf?
- Rieno: This is a completely different way of doing neon, it's done with texture animation within the editor
- BamBamTheFurry: ohhh! okay thats why i couldnt figure it out then lol
- Rieno: Pretty much lol
- BamBamTheFurry: what next?
- Rieno: Note the black bit on the bottom of the spectrum needs to be the height of the hair ends opacity mask
- BamBamTheFurry: example?
- Rieno: http://prntscr.com/7djof9
- BamBamTheFurry: okay
- Rieno: The next stage is deriving a hair mesh, going over to the debug tab, clicking on "Material" then "Add Key" key name "TextureMap7" then clicking on That Key you just made and clicking "Add Data" then typing "Index" in the first box, and "7" in the second so you end up with something like this http://prntscr.com/7djpzg
- Rieno: Then going back over to meshes, selecting index 7 that you created in the debugger, on the drop down choose the top empty selection http://prntscr.com/7djrcj
- Rieno: Then fill in the details like so http://prntscr.com/7djs2q, note you'll have to create an opacity map like mine to fit your spectrum
- BamBamTheFurry: okay
- Rieno: Next you want to make a hair map, an opacity map which will hold the hairs texture, like the one I showed you in the example earlier, that's up to you, note anything not white will be neon apart from the bottom if you did the spectrum mask correctly
- RienoRieno : After that apply the map to your hair texture and check "Skin composite" like so http://prntscr.com/7djsy5
- Rieno: Apply and save and you'll have something like this http://prntscr.com/7dju0u
- Rieno: The rest is to just experiment with different texture masks to get different effects
- BamBamTheFurry: okay :D
- BamBamTheFurry: is that everything? I am working on it now seeing that i have to make my own om lol
- Rieno: One last thing, here's the hair I just made to teach you https://www.dropbox.com/s/sj21l9oun94hd19/Tutorial.zip?dl=0 it's the project to just extract it to your documents/IMVU project folder and you can open it as well as get all my maps and textures from it
- BamBamTheFurry: :D omg thank you so much ^.^
- Rieno: you're welcome
