This paste can be used to determine when you should KO a mid-game encounter for high exp route (candy before Shelly). This depends on the Route 116 encounter you get, and whether you fought Jose or Joey. Add their exp yield to the encounter's yield and subtract 333 from it to determine how far you exceeded L16, then subtract that value from 141 (exp to Shelly) to see how much an encounter must yield to get you high exp.

Tentacool will always grant high exp, so this is mostly for Rock Smash Geodude encounters.
