Devising log section 1

We were given four stimuli to look through and we had to decide which one we wanted to use and to take ideas off. The first one we looked through was a quote by Marianne Williamson about our deepest fear was that we were powerful beyond measure. I felt this was saying to be yourself and to be confident and to not hide your talents. The second stimuli was a picture of two couples one couple old and the other young the old couple were kissing, the young were not communicating and they were just on their phones. This showed the difference between a generation who didn’t have phones and one that did, the older generation were much happier and could communicate as the young couldn’t and were just engrossed in their phones. The third stimuli were about slogans and we did an exercise about being treated differently just because of what we wear. The last stimuli was about “like a girl” which was saying it shouldn’t be a bad thing and we shouldn’t say it as in insult. After we had looked at all of those stimuli we decided to pick the second one as we had lots of ideas for that stimuli. After lots of discussion we thought we could create two separate worlds where one was absolutely no communication and everyone was completely blank, to another world where everyone was very connected. We knew we wanted to do the two worlds but we weren’t quite sure how we wanted to show that at first so we thought we could do a chair duet so we created that but after some more discussion we gave Joanne the main part of the girl who sees both worlds and ends up realising phones aren’t everything.  So that meant we had to create a new chair duet because we had to take Joanne out of the original. We want the audience to
