The last survivor

A cold breeze dominates the night
I look around my fallen comrades
So this is all I have left, is it?
I reached towards the dark sphere

But part of me relented
What if this corrupts me, I wondered?
Will revenge get what I truly desire?
I honestly don't think it will...

I mustered up all my strength
Then I got off the ground to stand
Perhaps this too will come to pass
Because now I have to get stronger

There's no way I can get better
If I keep living in my own past.
