  12. Waking up on a deserted island with a cavern full of various treasure wasn't something I expected, nor was seeing that it was practically impossible to leave and surrounded by shipwrecks on all sides. And honestly, this wouldn't have been half as complex if it weren't for the undead skeleton pirates that came in and tried to be menacing at me for ending up on "their island". Which was kind of adorable considering I was twice their side. Also, , you know, it wasn't necessarily THEIR island, but I just kind of looked at them and shrugged them off.
  13.
  14. "Yeah, I mean, I get that you guys were cursed by a trap left behind by a bunch of long-dead human-sacrificing jerks, but that's no reason to kick me off the island. That ship you've got that for example, she looks like she could use a bit of work and you are all clearly busy, so why don't I make myself useful since I'm stuck here a while? In return, once the curse is broken, grant me passage back to the mainland and we'll call it even."
  15.
  16. Much grumbling and bickering ensued, until I showed that I could in fact pick the pieces of wreckage that were in good enough condition to be used, and use them on the Black Pearl. I was otherwise confined to the island, though they were at least kind enough to give me food. Which I cooked for them, in return, using some of the magic at my disposal to wear away at their curse so that if they consumed food with any magical qualities, it wouldn't count as "regular" food and thus could be enjoyed. This made me a more valuable asset to them, and thus they stopped trying to kill me at random.
  17.
  18. Of course, when they came to the island with Elizabeth Swann I was hanging out in the treasure room, and I waved over Captain Barbossa, pointing out that she wasn't tied to the curse like they were. When he asked how I knew, I asked him if it was obvious, because I could literally see the connection between each of them and each piece of gold. "I mean... this is normal, right? It's not like you guys can't see the curse. Right?"
  19.
  20. And so things were increasingly complicated, and I stayed out of the fight. I stayed behind when everyone else left, lost in the fray, and everyone assumed I stowed away on another of the ships, or that the pirates were completely lying about some giant being there.
  21.
  22. Meanwhile, I stole all the non-cursed gold in the cove and shoved it into the Warehouse, cobbled a serviceable ship together, and then sailed west. And got slightly lost, but that just meant I could use the Pixelator to churn out parts to make the ship that much better. I ended up hunting for treasure a bit, before it ended up becoming more a matter of me going legal and hauling cargo. Less exciting than one would hope.
  23.
  24. On the other hand, I didn't get scurvy, so I think it's a fair trade.
  25.
  26. Wait, I'm a living nanite colony. Can I even GET scurvy?
