  1. A brief scowl came to Lotlhuitl's face, and the Cruxati runescribe found herself having to look away. Forced to turn. The Nagual paced away from Noda, seeming not to care whether she abandoned him to the company of those who remained, or if he followed her.
  2.
  3. The Nagual's breathing was heavy, muffled by the mask. Her gaze narrowed.
  4.
  5. Katzan was walking away ahead of her. On impulse, Lotlhuitl followed. It wasn't at all an action conducted with any element of stealth: the woman's step was loud, accompanied with the tell-tale sound of metal jostling against metal as she wordlessly pursued the blue-haired leader of the Atl.
  6.
  7. Wordlessly, until she attempted to draw next to him. And then she spoke. "Chieftain Katzan," Lotlhuitl breathed.
  8. (Lotlhuitl)
  9.
  10. While Lotlhuitl's steps were not silent, they were nothing compared to Katzan's. By the looks of it, every single step, even if all the noise that was needed from it was the crunching grass under the sole of his boots, it was amplified greatly through the visual black-and-white effect left behind. It made no doubt: Katzan Xizoh was there.
  11.
  12. And just like that, it was with his ever-grey presence. Around him, black-and-white took over the hues of the world, giving him some sort of highlight with the coating of colorlessness.
  13.
  14. And yet, when Lotlhuitl approached him, he barely made any effort to stop. A sideways gaze from his yellow eyebrows was perhaps enough, but more than likely, Katzan merely knew that she acknowledged his presence with the due title.
  15.
  16. Only one word slipped through his barely closed, line-formed lips. "Speak."
  17. (Katzan Xizoh)
  18.
  19. Ultimately, he was uninterested in being her shadow. For the moment, at least...
  20.
  21. Yet it hadn't been a total waste of time. A gaze shot over his shoulder at Anta, and that curious power she displayed...along with that odd, almost psychotic behavior. Everyone was a character, huh?
  22.
  23. And one last look upon the redhead - It looked like their business would take some time to conclude. So be it. Noda strode out ahead of the two Gehennans, purposefully.
  24. (Noda)
  25.
  26. 'Speak.'
  27.
  28. Subconsciously, the Nagual woman had avoided the patches of black-and-white, stepping not quite in Katzan's wake, but to the side. But as she neared him, there was no avoiding it. The colour was sapped from the world around him. And Lotlhuitl was part of that world. Her rich brown skin slowly shifted into greyscale, as did her clothes, her hair.
  29.
  30. Corruption stirred within her.
  31.
  32. And a strange pale green light played across her form, shone out of her eyes as she stared at the Atl Chieftain.
  33.
  34. There was no-one around to hear her. And yet, still. She leant in, lifted up her mask ever-so-slightly, to reveal her delicate face. A most serious, intense expression.
  35.
  36. And she attempted to whisper.
  37. (Lotlhuitl)
  38.
  39. Lotlhuitl whispers: I was saddened to hear that you gather people around you, and you never thought to gather me.
  40.
  41. Lotlhuitl whispers: I was even more saddened to hear that you gathered a pale imitator of the powers I wield.
  42.
  43. Katzan Xizoh whispers: I gather those that are attracted. If you weren't, i'm not at fault for your short sight.
  44.
  45. Katzan Xizoh whispers: I make no choices. I merely gather those who will be saved by me.
  46.
  47. Lotlhuitl whispers: Saved from what?
  48.
  49. Katzan Xizoh whispers: From everything.
  50.
  51. Lotlhuitl whispers: How specific.
  52.
  53. Katzan Xizoh whispers: The strong protect the weak.
  54.
  55. Katzan Xizoh whispers: The way of blood dictates.
  56.
  57. Katzan Xizoh whispers: I am close to being a Strigoi. Can't get much stronger than that.
  58.
  59. Lotlhuitl whispers: A strigoi?
  60.
  61.
  62. Katzan Xizoh says, "Yes. A strigoi. Me."
  63.
  64. Katzan Xizoh says, "I'm close to attaining that. I just need to..."
  65.
  66. Katzan Xizoh says, "... Do something. That no one ever did."
  67.
  68. Lotlhuitl says, "I thought they were creatures of myth."
  69.
  70. Katzan Xizoh says, "They are."
  71.
  72. Katzan Xizoh says, "And only the worthy can make it real."
  73.
  74. Lotlhuitl asks, "Do you return to Atl, Chieftain Katzan?"
  75.
  76. Katzan Xizoh says, "I always do."
  77.
  78. Lotlhuitl asks, "May I accompany you?"
  79.
  80. Lotlhuitl says, "I... was clearly mistaken. I believed you intended some deliberate slight."
  81.
  82. Katzan Xizoh asks, "You say something like that and you expect me to allow you to accompany me?"
  83.
  84. Katzan Xizoh says, "Very well."
  85.
  86. Katzan Xizoh says, "My mercy unfortunately knows no limits."
  87. Lotlhuitl blinked, slowly.
  88. (Lotlhuitl)
  89.
  90.
  91. Lotlhuitl says, "What was I supposed to think? You gathered a lesser Sin of Envy.."
  92.
  93. Katzan Xizoh says, "I care not. Although... I still have some business to settle on Crafthold."
  94.
  95. Lotlhuitl says, "I.. intended no insult. I admit I was wrong."
