» | BACKGROUND :
    ¤ jihyun was the second born child to kim jinwoo and kim minseo. she was born on the gold coast, two years after her older brother james was born. her parents were both travelling at the time, and had settled down in australia. however, about a year later, they moved back to korea, to her father's hometown, busan. growing up, jihyun was always pushed in her academics, and her parents were hoping she'd grow up and become a doctor or a nurse. she was relatively smart, and managed to learn to speak english through her parents, unlike her brother, and also managed to teach herself morse code. however, when jihyun was younger, she was teased for being the so called 'teacher's pet' since she would always put her hand up to answer questions correctly. after the teasing, jihyun took to trying to make herself less smart, and stopped participating in classes, and pretending not to know the answers to things, which confused her teachers as she always got top marks on her test papers. growing up, jihyun was extremely close with her older brother james, and despite the two year age gap, they were practically inseperable. jihyun first became interest in performing arts when her brother was accepted into  BUSAN ARTS COLLEGE, and wished to pursue a career in that pathway. however, she didn't dare after seeing how unsupportive her parents were of james' dream to do the same thing. it was james who eventually convinced jihyun that she shouldn't need to pretend to be dumb just so other people would like her, which led to her to stop pretending she was an idiot, but it caused problems, as she didn't know where to draw the line and prevent herself from sounding stuck up. in return, jihyun was extremely supportive of her brother and his dream to become an idol, and convinced him he should go and try out, even if their parents didn't think it was a good idea. about a year after he was accepted into the company, jihyun followed suit, attending an audition and became a trainee. it was then that her parents started to become supportive to both her and james. her parents were slightly disappointed that she didn't have any interest in becoming a doctor or a lawyer, but are now extremely supportive of her.

    ¤ jihyun is a bit of a walking contradiction, and is probably one of the only people on the planet who can be both super smart and a complete idiot at the same time. in all honesty, jihyun is trying to find a balance, since she is known to constantly correct other people, particularly their grammar, but it is because she spent over half of her life pretending to be a lot dumber than she actually was, and has now realised that she has no reason to hide how smart she is. now that she's come to this realisation, she often corrects people, which makes her sound stuck up, even though that wasn't her intention at all. jihyun has an extremely high iq, and got top grades all throughout her schooling, learning to fluently speak two languages, and conversational japanese on top of that. she has an extremely quick brain, and is able to solve difficult maths problems within a few seconds of being asked, and is often referred to as the group's WALKING CALCULATOR because of it. she is always spouting random facts at the weirdest times, despite being extremely smart, jihyun can sometimes be a bit of an idiot. she is the type of person to do stupid things, and ask questions with really obvious questions, because her mouth moves before she can think. she would probably be the type to be killed because she forgot to look first before crossing the road. she often gets in trouble because she doesn't often think before she speaks, and is often correcting her group mates, which makes her seem stuck up. jihyun is, however, as far from stuck up as you can get, and really does mean well, and would never intentionally try to her someone. she is the type of person to read books a lot, and be full of information. most people often assumed that she has a photographic memory or something due to her high grades in school, but in reality, jihyun is probably one of the most forgetful people ever when it comes to anything not related to grades. she is always loosing pens, books, clothes, shoes, and even her phone, because she has a habit of putting things down and forgetting where she left them. she would be the type of person to forget her head every morning if it wasn't attatched to her shoulders. however, she is a very persuasive person, and is known to be very good at convincing other people to do stuff for her, usually the manager. she is very good at debating and arguing, and she will not stand down, even if she knows she's wrong, and will continue to argue her point for hours on end. she is extremely stubborn, and will not budge once she's made up her mind. if she wants something, chances are that she will get it. jihyun is also a very hardworking person, and feels the need to put in twice as much effort as some other idols, due to the fact that she is constantly being compared to her older brother, james. not only is she a rapper like him, she's a horrible dancer too (but she insists she is better than her brother). she honestly loves her brother, but it tears her apart whenever she's compared to him, because she wants to be her own person, and not be known as just "james kim from fm's younger sister". she is almost as clumsy as her brother, which leads to her often tripping over, usually over stairs. she has a habit of knocking things over a lot, and her group members often claim jokingly that she is the reason why they can't have nice furniture in the dorm.

    ¤ they met during their training period, shortly after jihyun joined the company. it was james that introduced them, since her brother knew most of the trainees and was going around and introducing her to all of them, but then he got a text from someone (casper probably) and said he had to go and that he'd see jihyun later, and kind of just left her with him. jihyun wasn't really sure what to say, but eventually tried to strike up a casual conversation with him, which was sort of hard because he was grumpy and didn't really want to talk to her, but then he said something stupid, so jihyun naturally jumped into to correct his facts, which just pissed him off, so he kind of just stormed off and left her behind in an attempt to save his pride. they then met again a few weeks later, and somehow became friends, even though they have like nothing in common.

» | FIRST IMPRESSIONS :
    ¤ HER | she thought he was extremely grumpy, and she also low-key thought he was a bit of an idiot and had felt the need to correct him. however, she was really confused when he just stormed off, and was thinking something along the lines of "what's wrong with him why is he pissed off now what did i do"
    ¤ HIM | he kind of though she was annoying, since she just started talking even though he didn't really want to talk to her. he was also low-key embarrassed, since she just came in and started correcting him on his facts and making him look like an idiot who didn't know anything, so he just stormed off in an attempt to save his pride. he was probably thinking something like "why is she acting like she knows everything she can't be that smart surely"

» | HOW YOUR CHARACTER ACTS AROUND THEM :
    ¤ jihyun just acts like her usually self around him, since they've been friends for a while, and she never saw any reason to act differently. she has a habit of correcting his grammar a lot, which she does mostly because she knows how much it pisses him off, but he never really gets mad at her. she's very cuddly towards him, even more so than the other members, but he never really seems to mind her excessive skinship. she does sort of get really awkward around him for a small period of time, when she sort of realises that maybe she likes him more than a friend. if anything she's usually the more flirty one, but he does sometimes use cheesy pick up lines her (to which she starts questioning whether or not he's drunk).

» | HOW THEY ACT AROUND YOUR CHARACTER :
    ¤ he'd probably still act like his self around her too, but he probably wouldn't be as grumpy around her, and can't really stay mad or pissed of at her for very long.
        * i don't know what else to add for this, since i don't know what his full personality is like other than what is written on the slot, but i can add to it later after the character has been revealed.

» | RELATIONSHIP :
    ¤ at the beginning, they're basically best friends, after they get over their whole first meeting, and people often wonder how they are friends, since they have almost nothing in common. their relationship is a low-key love-hate one, and they often argue over the smallest things, like which flavoured ice cream is better, but they never really get into big fights.
    ¤ towards the middle, things kind of get awkward, because they sort of like each other, and there is a lot of sexual tension between them. neither of them really know what's going on, but they somehow manage to stay friends, even though it is painfully obvious that they're crushing on each other.
    ¤ at the end they're like dating but they're not. basically, they act like they're dating, and do all the couple things, like hugging and skinship and kissing and stuff, but they aren't officially going out because neither of them has asked the other one out (and the company get really confused and has to sit them down and ask if they're dating or not since fans are beginning to realise the chemistry between them.) basically, she still acts like her usual self, but tries to stop correcting all the facts he says wrong, in case it makes him hate her.

    ¤ james making an appearance and trying (see also: failing) to be threatening, but her love interest isn't really scared, and james ends up being the one who gets scared instead, so he sends casper or someone to threaten him instead, but it's kind of difficult because they're both younger than him (and then jihyun almost wets herself from laughing when she finds out about the whole thing)
