  1. >A bright sky and the sun beaming into your eyes, making you close them instantly
  2. >That is the first thing you’re aware as you wake up
  3. >...but from where? Where the hell are you?
  4. >You sit up and look around
  5. >You’re on a field that’s covered with forest on all it’s sides
  6. >...What the hell? This is not...
  7. >You try to crack your brain to remember what you were doing, but you can’t remember why you are lying here
  8. >Your hoof hits something leathery and you glance at it
  9. >it’s a filtration mask
  10. >You lift it up and take a closer look at it
  11. >the glass covering the left eye opening is cracked and the filter has come loose, this mask is pretty much busted
  12. >But why would this be here? This is used when venturing into forests and areas that is heavy with rot based spores
  13. >You lift your white plume moth mothpony self up from the ground and then instantly notice something else, apart of how sore your hooves feel
  14. >a withered up flower that you recognize instantly
  15. >”Oh you’ve got to be kidding me...”
  16. >You know exactly what this flower was
  17. >an Amnesia Blossom
  18. >You let out a little laugh as you collapse onto your back on the ground
  19. >That explains your confusion
  20. >For some reason, you came across a very rare species of flora and got sprayed by its pollen which has the nasty side effect of making you forget everything that happened
  21. >You get back up again and look around again, finding nothing of help
  22. >The range of the amnesia differs from 2 days to a few months depending on how much of the pollen a pony has breathed in, and there’s no way to get those memories back
  23. >You really feel like you need a drink now
  24. >What’s the last thing you can remember...
  25. ***
  26. >Ugh, your head is killing you
  27. >you stumble a bit and the two ponies accompanying you pause and look at you
  28. >the other one just turns his head and keeps walking, and the other lets out a laugh
  29. “So you feel as horrible as you look?”
  30. >You glare at the guard
  31. >”Shut up...”
  32. >The guard chuckles as you keep collecting yourself
  33. >Long story short, you’re hung over and instead of lying in your bed with another bottle of the good stuff you were woken up from a nice coma by two guards of the village, telling you the elder summoned you
  34. >Whatever that old moth wants with you is beyond you
  35. >especially with your body being what it is...
  36. >You pass another painting on the wall of this long corridor to the elder’s office
  37. >You smirk a little how all these paintings of the old coot with the sand colored coat have noticeably more mane and less wrinkles than the pony has in nature
  38. >The guards stop before the big door to the elder’s office and knock on it, and soon the weary voice of an older pony tells them they can come in
  39. >You grumble and cradle your head as the doors ope-
  40. >sunlight assaults your eyes and you instantly shut your eyes and curse loudly, and then you stumble and fall
  41. >You can hear the elder sighing and the blinds falling down to block the painful brightness
  42. “You two can leave”
  43. >the guards excuse themselves and leave you alone with the elder as you get up and dust yourself off
  44. “I see you’re still wasting your life away as usual Snow?”
  45. >You lean against the wall while the elder sits in his chair and looks at you
  46. >”How I waste my sad existence is none of the elders business. Now is this just an intervention or did you have something to say?”
  47. >The elder furrows his brows at you
  48. “You’re going to go back out in the field”
  49. >You just snort
  50. >”Yeah, no“
  51. >The elder glares at you
  52. “You might be a sad useless case, but you are still my son-in-law. And this is not up for debate”
  53. >You interrupt the elder
  54. >”Ex-son-in-law”
  55. >The elder sighs
  56. “You’ve been causing enough trouble as it is, it’s time for you to pay back, no matter how sad and sorry you might feel. My patience has run thin, and I am low on men.”
  57. >You just turn around and start walking out of his office, but the two guards stop you on your tracks
  58. >Before you can yell insults at them the elder yells out something to you
  59. “You either work, or get locked up for all the disorderly acts you’ve pulled lately! Your call!”
  60. ***
  61. >And that’s where your memories end
  62. >That explains why you’re out somewhere, you must have been out on a job
  63. >but other than that you have no idea where you are and why
  64. >Great, you really can’t figure out how many days you’ve lost, but taking all into consideration you suspect it’s not just 2 to 3 days you’re missing
  65. >Well, might as well start flying around and catch your bearings
  66. >You give your white plume-like wings a few flaps and
  67. >...
  68. >nothing happens
  69. >You look at your wings questioningly
  70. >they are flapping like normal, but you’re not being lifted up
  71. >then you notice something else and quickly move your hoof near your flapping wings
  72. >they are not making the air around them react in any way
  73. >Now you’re puzzled
  74. >Your wings move like they should be, but it is as if you would not be flapping anything
  75. >You touch your wings to make sure they are actually still there
  76. >Yup, feels like wings all right
  77. > But for some reason it’s like... they just can’t fly for any apparent reason
  78. >Great, just perfect
  79. >You kick the broken helmet angrily and look at it fly a few feet
  80. >But as you do you notice something else
  81. >At one of the edges of the field you can see a shape that looks like the roof of a farm house
  82. >You start walking towards the house
  83. >As you walk on the field you take notice of something weird on few of the straws of hay
  84. >there’s something white on them
  85. >Is that frost?
  86. >Huh, are the nights that cold already? You could have sworn it’s still summer out here
  87. >You decide to ignore the strange out of place frost and keep walking towards the house
  88. >Soon enough you arrive to the house and then stop as you notice something weird on the yard
  89. >A very weird, white statue in the form of a pony
  90. >Must be some sort of a scarecrow since it’s near a small patch of vegetables. To each their own tastes huh, you’d never get anything so eerie looking
  91. >Though she might have liked it...
  92. >You shake your head and knock on the door to the house, and wait for somebody to answer it
  93. >and then you wait a bit more
  94. >...and then you knock again
  95. >”Anypony home?”
  96. >but nobody answers it
  97. >You try the door and find it to be unlocked so you walk into the house and look around
  98. >It’s a pretty ordinary house, but you instantly notice that something’s off
  99. >for one, there’s spoiled food on the plates that are on the table, but the whole place feels and smells dusty and dank
  100. >You walk around the house a bit more and look around, but only find more sings of it looking deserted
  101. >It makes no sense; it looks almost as if the residents just took and left suddenly, leaving everything behind
  102. >You then turn your attention to a door that’s slightly ajar
  103. >you give it a push, but the door does not budge
  104. >”Hello? I’m not here to hurt you or to rob you, I just need some directions”
  105. >there’s no answer
  106. >You give the door another push but it doesn’t open
  107. >You peek in trough the crack
  108. >So that’s why, there’s a big bed pushed against the door
  109. >You look around as much as you can and see another one of those statues
  110. >Funny, was this the home of a sculptor? No other reason to have anything like that in your be-
  111. >suddenly you see movement
  112. >Something purple just went past the window to the bedroom
  113. >You quickly run outside the house and look around, but see nobody
  114. >”Who’s there?”
  115. >Suddenly you hear a gasp from your left
  116. >You turn your head and...
