  1. A flurry of blackthorn petals arrives from the southwest, thorny vines sprouting within the floral cloud and twining together to form the body of Esei.
  2.
  3. You smile brightly at Esei, your frills puffing with joy.
  4.
  5. Esei ponders a sleek black crow thoughtfully, looking her up and down.
  6.
  7. You tilt your head curiously.
  8.
  9. Esei murmurs softly to themself.
  10.
  11. You ponder the situation.
  12.
  13. The ground seeps with wetness as a greater elemental of water flows across the ground.
  14.
  15. Echoed by rippling waters, you say to Esei, "Is it bad to ask Mister Lord Darvellan what stars taste like?"
  16.
  17. Esei stares implacably at you.
  18. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "What."
  19.
  20. Defensive, you exclaim, "I am curious!"
  21. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "And well, He has gotten closer to stars than me, yes."
  22. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "See, He said He made His -own- stars. Not the normal ones!"
  23.
  24. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "Have you given up trying to drink your ampoule?"
  25.
  26. Lifting a dainty hand to finger your neckline, you glance about with uncertain disdain.
  27. Dramatically, you say, "Why I -nevers-."
  28. You grin mischievously at Esei.
  29.
  30. Esei stares implacably at you.
  31.
  32. You smile brightly at Esei, your frills puffing with joy.
  33.
  34. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "I'm gonna go make Him some food and ask, just you waits."
  35.
  36. You beckon to Esei.
  37.
  38. Esei begins to follow you.
  39.
  40. You carefully study a cooking recipe.
  41. #: 33664 Item: Platter Type: Gourmet Org: Public Designer: Cheliyi
  42. Ingredients: grain 21 fruit 2 sugar 1 gold 1 powderfruit 1
  43. Mortal Reviews: Allowed
  44. IMPORTANT: The main noun MUST use one of these: PLATTER
  45. Appearance:
  46. a platter of powderfruit elephant mochi
  47. Dropped:
  48. Glistening enticingly, a platter of powderfruit elephant mochi lies here.
  49. Examined:
  50. At first glance, this platter almost seems more like a set of shiny,
  51. albeit chubby porcelain figurines of tiny elephants atop lotuses. On
  52. closer inspection, they reveal themselves to be nothing more than
  53. confectionery delights, plump rice-cake cloaking a lavender paste.
  54. Little toothpicks have been used to give each mochi its own little trunk
  55. raised in trumpeting triumph, as well as large, floppy ears that almost
  56. seem to cheerfully flap in the corner of one's eye. Details such as
  57. nostrils and eyes and a tiny grin have been painted on with edible
  58. golden leaf, while further swirls and decorative constellations adorn
  59. each elephant's flank. A tiny flower crown adorns each mochi's brow,
  60. painted with a painstaking eye for detail so that they are quite
  61. obviously star lotuses rather than any generic bloom. Supporting the
  62. small sweet treats, each platform turns out to be little more than
  63. sugar-spun petals, sure to add a crunch to an otherwise delectably
  64. squishy snack.
  65. Consume:
  66. Plucking one of the elephant mochi with dainty fingers, you take a bite
  67. out of its painted flank. At first, the rice cake envelops all but hints
  68. of powderfruit, chewy and subtly sweet. Then as the bit turns over in
  69. your mouth, you are hit with the full force of sweet, condensed
  70. powderfruit paste. As the mochi practically melts on your tongue, you
  71. steal another bite from the first elephant, this time taking part of the
  72. lotus platform with the confection. It crunches pleasantly in your
  73. mouth, slightly sour sugar crystals flooding your palate and preventing
  74. the sweet treat from becoming sickeningly saccharine. Without
  75. hesitation, you devour the rest of the first piece of mochi, soon
  76. abandoning all decorum. The remaining elephants on the platter disappear
  77. one by one, leaving you quite satisfied.
  78. Smell:
  79. Inhaling deeply, your senses note the scent of rice flour and something fruity.
  80. Taste:
  81. Taking a nibble from one of the many mochi adorning the platter, you detect hints of rice, sugar crystals, and powderfruit.
  82. Comments:
  83.
  84. You quickly take a bite from A cross-hatched Pie of Tasteful Adequacy and consider the taste carefully. You feel better equipped to work the ovens to produce wonderful baked goods.
  85. At home in the kitchen, you have no trouble whipping up a platter of powderfruit elephant mochi in the oven. There is enough for eight portions.
  86. You have recovered balance on all limbs.
  87.
  88. You pat yourself on the back.
  89.
  90. Esei follows you east.
  91.
  92. Echoed by rippling waters, you say to Esei, "You are coming withs me."
  93. You nod your head sagely.
  94. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Witness if I get zapped."
  95. You give a trillingly melodic laugh, your frills resonating with joy.
  96.
  97. Esei glances askance.
  98.
  99. ---> nyoom!
  100.
  101. You speedwalk west to before Avechna the Avenger.
  102. You have reached your destination.
  103.
  104. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Now which ones..."
  105.
  106. Esei follows you down.
  107.
  108. You have emoted: Cheliyi squints around.
  109. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "I've never actually visited His, no."
  110.
  111. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "One more."
  112. Esei follows you down.
  113.
  114. In the centre of a cavernous geodesic prism.
  115. Bright light radiates from the magnificently cut crystals formed into the cavern walls, displays of iridescent light shower the openings with bright rainbows of colour. The prismatic crystals hum as if charged with forces of divine energy themselves. Warmth seethes from the very walls.
  116. You see exits leading north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest, up, and down.
  117.
  118. Esei points to the southeast.
  119.
  120. Comprehension flashes across your face.
  121. You clap your hands together merrily.
  122.
  123. Esei follows you southeast.
  124.
  125. A map-covered cavern.
  126. Maps of several different shapes and sizes plaster the wall of this cavern, ranging from land maps to tidal maps, aether maps to planar maps, even a few whose purpose and nature are indecipherable. Smaller pieces of parchment have been attached to some of the maps, each bearing markings or unknown languages upon them. Pushed against the northern wall, a wood table bears piles of maps as well as navigational equipment and blank parchment waiting to join the maps on the walls. A patch of reishi mushroom thrives here. A mist filled with twinkling constellations rotates here, casting shadows with its turning.
  127. You see exits leading north, west, northwest, and through a mist full of stars.
  128.
  129. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Ohhhh."
  130. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "I think I visited here once when I was very young."
  131. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Poked my head into a bunch of these, yesly."
  132. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Well!"
  133. You clap your hands together merrily.
  134.
  135. As you enter the star-filled mist, the mist explodes silently around you as the stars go shooting out in all directions, growing ever larger in size.
  136.
  137. Esei follows you ether.
  138.
  139. The Fulcrux of Darvellan.
  140. Enormous stars twinkle all about, each one slowly rotating in the mist, suspended in mid-air. There appears to be no ground here, just a thickening of the mist that seems to render it more solid and opaque. Thrumming sounds echo from all around as lances of power shoot between various stars, forming patterns and pictures that glimmer for a moment in the mind's eye before fading away. Twinkling somberly amidst the other stars, an amber-hued star causes thoughts of remembrance to subtly surface. A six-spoked ship's helm floats here in the mist, slowly turning on its axis. An archway rises up here, marking the path out of the mist of stars. Penderglass T. Chartwright stands here, his hands folded within his robes. You notice a variety of WARES for sale here.
  141. You see a single exit leading through an archway.
  142.
  143. Esei inclines their head politely to those around them.
  144.
  145. You tilt your head curiously at Penderglass T. Chartwright.
  146. Echoed by rippling waters, you whisper to Esei, "Ohmygods Penderglass was a -person- not a ship."
  147. Your eyes raise to the heavens as a look of hope flashes across your face.
  148.
  149. ---> look penderglass
  150.
  151. Although dulled, the faint gleam of curiosity's spark twinkles in this aged gnome's eyes, a shot of life in his otherwise gnarled face. Nary a hair is to be found atop his head, but a wispy, stained beard trails from his chin, curling slightly at the tips. So wrinkled is his face that the smallest twitch of his lips causes his tanned skin to ripple like the surface of water. He holds himself with a permanent hunch, the sharp bones of his shoulder blades in stark relief, and moves his fragile body in slow, deliberate movements. The sage green robes, as stained as his beard, swaddle him as they hang loose on his thin body, the smudges of ink mingling on the cuffs with the other stains.
  152. Penderglass T. Chartwright looks to be crushingly strong.
  153. He weighs about 8 pounds.
  154. He is loyal to the Divine Order of Darvellan, the Navigator.
  155. You cannot see what Penderglass T. Chartwright is holding.
  156. It has the following aliases: penderglass, chartwright.
  157.
  158. ---> look shrine
  159. Looking to be made of extremely seasoned and worn wood, this six-spoked ship's helm still looks to be incredibly well preserved. Each spoke gleams as though recently polished, and the helm as a whole rotates slowly on its axis.
  160.
  161. ---> look star
  162. Standing out from the other mist-suspended stars both in colour and size, this slightly smaller star spins slowly as it casts its somber rays about. Somberly subdued in colour and brightness, one may stare straight into it with no fear of ocular harm. Slowly churning in on itself, the heart of this star occasionally provides glimpses of things, people, and memories gone and lost to the Navigator's Order, a sensation which is borderline bittersweet.
  163.
  164. Turning to the gnome, you say to Penderglass T. Chartwright, "Hello! You have a nice robe. Am gonna leave food for your Lord, but do you want any?"
  165.
  166. Esei stands awkwardly to the side and just behind you, quite simply there.
  167.
  168. You peer about yourself unscrupulously.
  169. Somewhat awkwardly, you whisper, "Am gonna just... yeah."
  170.
  171. You hold no "platter".
  172. You stare blankly into space.
  173.
  174. Echoed by rippling waters, you say to Esei, "Ohmygods I left the food in the oven."
  175.
  176. Esei lets out a soft sigh.
  177.
  178. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Stay RIGHT here."
  179.
  180. As you enter the archway onto the path through the twinkling mist, the stars contract at dizzying speeds until each star is just a tiny little twinkle suspended in the mist.
  181.
  182. ---> SPRINTING
  183.
  184. Domothean energies surge around your figure as you step forwards into the Tree itself and through Kether into another location.
  185.
  186. The Fulcrux of Darvellan.
  187. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk floats here, suffusing the air with the sickly-sweet scent of blackthorn blossoms. They wield an atramentous athame of the blackthorn in their left hand. You notice a variety of WARES for sale here.
  188. You see a single exit leading through an archway.
  189.
  190. Esei begins to follow you.
  191.
  192. You pant like a dog.
  193. You strike a pose.
  194.
  195. You drop a platter of powderfruit elephant mochi.
  196.
  197. You bow respectfully to the master shrine of Darvellan.
  198.
  199. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "Mayhaps I might make Him something as well?"
  200.
  201. Esei tilts their head inquisitively at you.
  202.
  203. You ponder the situation.
  204. Turning to them, you say to Esei, "Sure, yesly. Why not? I am just gonna be thinking about how to phrase my words."
  205.
  206. Esei shrugs helplessly.
  207. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "A moment."
  208. Esei draws the Fingerblade of dha'Wyrden-cree across the inside of their wrist, causing a line of blood to well up. They then lift the blade into the air as shadows spill out of the wet crimson tip. Swarming around their form, the shadows take Esei with them as they sink into the ground.
  209.
  210. You feel a slight tug within your chest and the air around you sparkles with motes of bright light.
  211. Esei emerges from a cloud of icy, freezing fog, their eyes glazed with the chill of the grave.
  212.
  213. Esei inclines their head politely to those around them.
  214. Esei nestles the blackthorn bottle next to the platter of mochi, moving away and tilting their head at you.
  215. Esei begins to follow you.
  216.
  217. A halo of celestial light wells about you, the shells upon a shimmering wreath of seashells reflecting it outwards, painting your surroundings in a spray of oceanic hues.
  218.
  219. You have emoted: Cheliyi seems to be lost in thought, mouthing words to herself in silence. As Esei pops in and out of the room, she acknowledges the movements with a bright smile before returning to her efforts. After a time, she kneels down in front of the shrine.
  220.
  221. Kneeling humbly, you press your palms together before you and close your eyes momentarily as you pray devoutly to Darvellan, the Navigator, "Dear Mister Lord Navigator, I hope Your return has been alright! I am sorry we were all so nervous on seeing You, there have been many Rudely Ones who wear Others faces to deceive mortalkind, yesly. Also hello! My name is Cheliyi Lunarose, Iyam the mugwump you spoke to a few months ago! If that is how time works for You. I admittedly have a silly question, but I am a seeker of knowledge and Wisdom, so no question is too silly for me! It is this: what do stars taste like? When I was younger, I assumed they might either be spicy because they are so shiny, or perhaps very sweet since light feels so warm, yes. But after seeing one of Your stars, which I know are not exactly the same, I sensed it being very... smelly. Like bad eggs. Do stars taste bad, then? If this is an answer You have, would love to hear it. Also, brought some mochi for you! Made it for Your Sister's beloved elephants, Miss Tavi. Thought You might like it as well, since it is shiny and glittery like the stars! That is, if You like mortal food. If You do not can always find different gifts that might be better. Sincerely, Cheliyi. Thank You for listening, even if I am not one of Yours.".
  222.
  223. You have emoted: Cheliyi gets up from the prayer, dusting off her skirt. She then looks curiously over to Esei. "Do you have a question you wanna ask?"
  224.
  225. Echoed by rippling waters, you whisper to Penderglass T. Chartwright, "Also I'm just gonna... here."
  226.
  227. Deadpan, Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "No."
  228.
  229. Slipping it inexplicably into his robe pocket, you give a platter of powderfruit elephant mochi to Penderglass T. Chartwright.
  230.
  231. You peer at Esei unscrupulously.
  232. Echoed by rippling waters, you say to Esei, "You are the most curious peoples I know."
  233.
  234. (OOC): Esei says, "Dude the poor guy is like 9 pounds."
  235. (OOC): You say, "Shhh its fine."
  236. (OOC): Esei says, "You just gave him 1/9 of his weight."
  237. (OOC): Esei says, "In mochi."
  238. (OOC): You say, "The portions adjust magically i promise."
  239. (OOC): Esei says, "Lmfao."
  240.
  241. You give a platter of powderfruit elephant mochi to Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk.
  242.
  243. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "Elaborate."
  244.
  245. (OOC): Tirah says, "Wish someone would give m 1/9th of my weight in mochi tbh."
  246.
  247. You have emoted: Cheliyi raises an eyebrow and gestures pointedly to Esei's shroud of shadows.
  248.
  249. Esei lifts a brow right back. "That explains nothing, t'ir'cha."
  250.
  251. (OOC): You say, "The urge to send 'whisper I know about the nochtquameld.'"
  252.
  253. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Questions are like. HALF of His whole thing, sibling!"
  254.
  255. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "Why, I never noticed."
  256.
  257. (OOC): Esei says, "LOL."
  258. (OOC): Esei says, "SINCE WHEN."
  259.
  260. You narrow your eyes at Esei in an unnerving manner.
  261.
  262. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "My Lord has never required me to ask any of Them a question."
  263.
  264. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "You are -sassy- todays."
  265.
  266. Esei wrinkles their nose and sniffs.
  267.
  268. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "Or perhaps you are just unobservant."
  269. Wyrden Haruspex Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk whispers, "Perhaps not the conversation to have in a Divine's Fulcrux, moreover."
  270.
  271. You blink.
  272. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Oh, right."
  273.
  274. You bow respectfully to the master shrine of Darvellan.
  275.
  276. Esei inclines their head politely to those around them.
  277.
  278. Echoed by rippling waters, you say, "Have a nicely... time period, Lord Darvellan Mister Navigator! Yes yes."
  279. You nod your head sagely.
  280.
  281. As you enter the archway onto the path through the twinkling mist, the stars contract at dizzying speeds until each star is just a tiny little twinkle suspended in the mist.
  282. Esei follows you ether.
