Is it any wonder?
Our world, slipping to darkness;
engulfing us, as smoke surrounds the mountaintops,
the inevitable has arrived, the demise eminent.

Rocks with tails, black as night, shielding our city from the light;
it’s golden rays, masked behind the deception of a molten façade.

I see in the distance, a glowing beacon, red and orange.
Fear.
Mayhem ensues, buildings crumble, façades shatter.

The orange glow, distant glints in tear filled eyes;
cascading over cracked, dry, and red, skin.

A city is not falling, but a mind imploding.

What happens –
to a world -
when everything you had built is destroyed?
