  3. Lozano joined the board of trustees for the Rockefeller Foundation in 2012, the centennial year of the foundation. The board oversees the foundation's program and grant making strategy; budgets, expenditures and appropriation policies and guidelines; and investment strategies, allocations and performance. The Rockefeller Foundation is leading the 100 Resilient Cities program, a worldwide security and resiliency initiative which includes Bay Area cities Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco. Palantir Technologies will provide networking and data management for the 100 Cities Initiative. Palantir is a data mining contractor for the NSA, the Defense Department, the FBI. Palantir Technologies was a member of Team Themis, a surveillance collective known for having spied on members of Commerce Watch, activists critical of the US Chamber of Commerce. After the Manning leaks, Team Themis was hired to form a proposal to attack Wikileaks servers in Sweden and France; as well Team Themis drew up a proposal for a campaign against reporters sympathetic to Wikileaks, including Glenn Greenwald. The campaign against Wikileaks, its supporters, and journalists was backed by Bank of America, whose leadership was concerned about leaks pertaining to Bank of America. Lozano has been a director of Bank America since 2006.

  5. Lozano was appointed as a UC regent by California governor Jerry Brown on January 17, 2014. As a Californian company, Palantir recruits from the UC system. Palantir holds info-sessions and recruiting events on UC campuses, such as a technologies puzzle hunt last September at UC Berkeley and a tech talk this past February at Soda Hall.

  7. Lozano was named to the President's Economic Recovery Board in February of 2009, which was later renamed to the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. The council, first headed by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker and then lead by General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt, was cancelled in 2013. During its existence, the council only produced one report. Lonazo was on California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's which meet in 2009 and produced its report recommendations to change California's tax system, lowering taxes on the rich and on major corporations. Lozano is on the Council on Foreign Relations, a think-tank for US foreign policy and international affairs.

  9. On May 29, 2014 Lozano stepped down as CEO of ImpreMedia, the leading Hispanic news and information company in the US for online and print media. Lozano became the ImpreMedia's CEO in 2008. ImpreMedia was formed in 2004 when the Spanish-language newspaper El Diario (from New York) merged with La Opinion, a paper owned by the the Lozano family. La Opinion was started in 1926 by Ignacio E. Lozano, Sr, the grandfather of Monica Lozano. In May of 2012, controlling interest in Impremedia was sold to US Hispanic News, a subsidiary of Argentine publisher La Nacion. Currently, Lozano is chair of the board at US Hispanic News.
