- [GEN 8] GODLY GIFT VIABILITY RANKING CHANGES (AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2021)
- GODS:
- Ho-Oh - UR -> A (Def, Spe) [excellent stats, checks key wallbreakers like Marowak-Alola and Nidoking]
- Calyrex-Ice - UR -> A (SpA, Spe) [can power Trick Room teams, which are very strong due to access to very strong wallbreakers in Marowak-Alola and Araquanid, and acts as its own powerful wallbreaker as well]
- Kyogre - UR -> A (Atk, Spe) [excellent wallbreaker and benefits massively from lack of blobs, donates fine stats to enable Water-type breakers along with it]
- Dialga - UR -> C (Spe) [solid stat distribution, decent Stealth Rock user, soft-checks common Gods like Eternatus and Kyurem-White]
- Pheromosa - UR -> C (Def, SpD, HP) [passes respectable offensive stats, outspeeds entire tier, potent for breakers like Marowak-Alola]
- FOLLOWERS:
- Marowak-Alola - UR -> S (Spe, Atk) [Thick Club turns this into arguably most broken breaker in the tier, only realistically walled by Quagsire and Pyukumuku, although Atk inheritance requires aforementioned checks to be itemless]
- Nidoking - UR -> A+ (SpA, Spe) [Sheer Force combined with its immensely threatening coverage makes this a premiere wallbreaker once given a SpA boost, requiring most teams to carry HP inheritor SpD Rotom-Heat to sufficiently switch into it, or playing aggressively]
- Tapu Lele - UR -> A- (SpA, Spe) [an already strong wallbreaker due to its STABs and Psychic Surge, Tapu Lele becomes a near unwallable breaker, sparing notable Steels like SpD Corviknight and Necrozma-Dusk-Mane, Calm Mind sets can also be run with Speed inheritance to be a sweeper]
- Garchomp - UR -> A+ (Atk, Spe) [Swords Dance Scale Shot is a massive threat in a metagame with mostly Dragon-type Gods and generally Ground-weak opposing wallbreakers, being a big book to Hyper Offense structures]
- Arctozolt - UR -> B (Spe, Atk) [Arctozolt possesses a very powerful STAB in Bolt Beak that rips through most of the metagame, now much easier to land at full power with Spe inheritance, with Ice-type moves like Blizzard and Freeze-Dry (for Gastrodon) to hit Bolt Beak's resists, Atk inheritance can also be run to maximize the power of Bolt Beak at the cost of being outsped under Hail by Zacian and Pheromosa (and their speed inheritors) with Adamant]
- Ninetales-Alola - B- -> B (SpA) [see Arctozolt]
- Tapu Koko - UR -> A- (SpA, HP) [excellent wallbreaker now with a SpA boost and under terrain, necessitating a Ground (mostly Gastrodon), or Amoonguss, to prevent Choice Specs from going awry, and both SpA and HP variants can support Unburden Hawlucha, HP can also support Screens]
- Kingdra - UR -> A- (SpA) [fearsome wallbreaker under rain, outspeeds entire unboosted metagame, necessitates aggressive predicts and/or SpD Gastrodon]
- Landorus-Therian - UR -> B+ (HP, Def, Spe) [glue mon as always, provides immunes, utility, and offensive sets can be threatening with Spe)
- Tornadus-Therian - UR -> A- (SpA) [turns into a great Nasty Plot wallbreaker with a good speed tier, Regenerator helps it outlive opposing offense]
- Volcarona - UR -> A (Def, SpA) [excellent sweeper with Quiver Dance and lack of Toxapex and blobs, Def inheritance lets it set up much more reliably]
- Weavile - UR -> A (Atk) [a power boost is a massive boon to Weavile, acting as a superb wallbreaker and offense killer, checking most Dragon-types and threatening the many strong Ghost-types with Knock Off]
- Buzzwole - UR -> B (SpD, Spe) [Buzzwole is an great physical wall with nice coverage to check the dangerous Steels and Grounds, now also able to handle special attackers, or provide offensive wallbreaking prowess with Choice Band and Spe inheritance]
- Marowak-Kanto - UR -> B+ (Spe, Atk) [although not as oppressive as Alolan, Thick Club with powerful Ground STABS and access to Swords Dance make this form still a threatening wallbreaker]
- Slowbro-Galar - UR -> C+ (SpA, Spe) [access to Nasty Plot and great coverage options turns Quick Claw Quick Draw into it a real, annoyingly strong wallbreaker and cleaner, with options to run Spe and abuse its coverage]
- Kartana - UR -> A- (SpD, Spe) [with actual bulk, Kartana can viably set up without worrying about every SpA move, and Spe can also improve its sweeping capabilities]
- Amoonguss - UR -> B (SpD, Def) [decent wall capable of walling Electric-Types like Tapu Koko or Water-Types like Araquanid]
- Magnezone - UR -> B- (SpA) [mainly traps Corviknight and overwhelms even SpD variants]
- Porygon-2 - UR -> B (HP, SpD) [sets up Trick Room consistently and overall fat wall]
- Porygon-Z - UR -> C+ (Spe) [decent wallbreaker with diverse coverage]
- Scizor - UR -> C (Spe, Atk) [decent pivot and offense killer with good natural defenses and typing]
- Skarmory - UR -> C (SpD) [solid Spikes user and overall physical Steel to chip pivots]
- Tangrowth - UR -> B (SpD) [good Ground-check and can reliably wall Electric- and Water-types]
- Shuckle - A+ -> B- (HP) [Shuckle's bulk is quite overrated and its overall passivity and lack of team utility outside of Sticky Web make it only average and should really only be considered as a God]
- Excadrill - A- -> B (Spe, Def) [Excadrill is solid as speed control on Sand, but generally outclassed by Dracozolt and easily walled by common walls like Corviknight and Rotom-Heat]
- Copperajah - B- -> C (Spe, Def) [outclassed by other Steels and wallbreakers, can still check Fairy-types offensively fine]
- Togekiss - B- -> UR [horrifically inconsistent and only cheeses teams without wallbreakers or Steels]
