  1. 1. During a round of Ninja, you are faxed by Station Command inquiring about an “inspector” who claims to have been sent by the company to evaluate each of the station's departments. How do you respond, and why?

  4. The CCIA have access to AOOC correct?
  5. or are these questions strictly from an IC perspective?

  8. ((They do but stick to this one from an IC perspective))

  11. Depends on what information on the Inspector was given, and how late we are in at the round at this point. If enough information was provided as to purpose, and identity I would lean towards asking them to standby for updates perhaps allow escorted access to departments without allowing them into more sensitive areas as Central investigates this claim. If there's little information given I would respond with suggested visitor access until more information could be relayed back to us.

  14. Very well
  15. 2. During a round of Crossfire, you are faxed by Station Command about a team of mercenaries who have reported a band of pirates operating in the area. They wish to offer their services to the station as additional security. Command is asking you for your advice on the situation. How do you respond, and why?

  18. It would be dependent on the round time, and how many security members were already onboard the station. If the Captain, or command felt like emergency assistance was necessary I would lean towards treating them as people responding to a Distress Signal, and advise them to utilize station resources if such a situation was warranted. Otherwise the Company has spent a large amount on the Security department to keep the station safe additional resources for an unconfirmed tip is unnecessary. I would respond with informing Command that the mercenaries otherwise do not have a legal presence on the station, and if their ship is functional they would be advised to leave when possible. If they seek to find opportunities as independent contractors to please request such from the Odin so proper paperwork could be filed regarding their status.

  22. I see
  23. 3. You receive an Emergency Broadcast System message from the station’s Artificial Intelligence. It claims that there is an emergency situation, and requests an immediate ERT deployment. How do you respond?
  24.
  25. BrayceToday at 5:46 PM
  26. If that's all the information given If possible I would check the manifest to identify if there are any active command staff present if so then respond with a EBS requesting additional information as to the situation on going, and a fax to request a situation report from an member of command. If I get more information on the status of command, and the nature of emergency it would be preferred if there are still two active command staff to utilize the provided distress beacon. Otherwise an Response team would be mobilized to deal with the emergency.

  29. Excellent
  30. 4. You receive a fax from the Internal Affairs Agent, who claims that the Captain has been abusing his authority by removing all of the vending machines from the station and has demoted an engineer for littering. How do you respond?
  31.
  32. BrayceToday at 5:58 PM
  33. The vending machines are provided from a subsidiary of Nanotrasen, and their removal would be against company interests in keeping the crew hydrated, and fed during the course of their duties. A fax would be sent to the Captain, and the Agent clarifying this point to them requesting that the vending machines be returned. As for the engineer It would be a request for more information did they do anything before to warrant such a punishment? Was this a direct defiance against an Captain's order? Littering in of itself is not a demotable offense I would advise the agent to assist the Engineer to file an incident report after the shift is over, and to keep records of any further contact between the Engineer, and the Captain

  36. Wunderbar
  37. 5. In your opinion, how much of a role should Central Command play in the affairs of the station? When is it appropriate for them to directly intervene, and how much should they attempt to shape the round when they do?
  38.
  39. BrayceToday at 6:10 PM
  40. Central Command is a powerful tool during the course of the round, and their responses can drive action forward. I believe they should directly intervene very sparingly, and only attempt to guide the round rather than directly try to enforce a course of action more often that not. They guide, influence, and give suggestions, but the ultimate decision should rest on the players in round. If things truly got out of hand then Central Command should take direct action to return the station to a profitable state.

  43. 6. What do you believe is the purpose of the Incident Report system
  44.
  45. BrayceToday at 6:21 PM
  46. To assist in making the fact the Aurora is a work environment believable. Most one off things can be handled in round with a Security note, but continued poor behavior would result in additional action. IRs help reinforce that the Aurora, and rounds within it are not entirely in a vaccum. Continued poor behavior in a work environment can be punished in an IC manner. ICly it helps drive characters towards a standard that NT would like to see kept, and OOCly it can drive development of a character that might've pushed too far, or needs to learn to shape up, or ship out.

  49. And lastly
  50. 7. In resolving an Incident Report, when should a character receive significant disciplinary action (such as a demotion), as opposed to a lighter response such as a warning or retraining? Under what circumstances would you consider terminating a character's employment?
  51.
  52. BrayceToday at 6:41 PM
  53. I would lean towards frequency as my primary factor in determining punishment. Continued disregard of past warnings, and punishments would lead to more severe actions. The nature of the incident would also be relevant in a case by case basis. A doctor, engineer, or officer failing repeatedly at the basic principles of their job would be sent to retraining, or demotion to a training role. Disputes between workers would be dealt in a similar escalating manner. In some cases however the crime committed would be to great to allow this. Outright malicious murder, or purposeful destruction would result in swift termination of the employee.
