  1. As you awoke one morning from uneasy dreams you found yourself transformed in your bed into an enormous insect. With your head still foggy, your gaze slowly pan downwards, only to meet a dark brown mass, cut into two even halves. Confused, you decide to roll off your bed, thinking that a glass of cold water would wake you up. Instead, your numerous legs flail helplessly about in front of your eyes, and your flat body swings fruitlessly from side-to-side on your queen-sized bed.
  2.
  3. Your pairs of eyes dart around the room, trying to find proof that you are just in a weird dream. Instead, the familiar walls of your room appear extremely foggy and out of focus. The only thing you can see clearly is the picture of you and Haachama sitting on the nightstand. That alone made you realize that this is reality.
  4.
  5. Your mind jolts awake. You cannot let your girlfriend see this. Just how frightened would she be if she knew that her boyfriend turned into a giant spider overnight? From her streaming room, you hear her ending the stream and the beginning notes of her outro. You need to find a way to transform back, or to hide yourself, at least. Mustering every bit of your strength, you flip over and frantically try to find a hiding spot in your bedroom. Your bed is too close to the floor. There is no way out.
  6.
  7. You hear the door being flung open. It’s too late.
  8.
  9. You turn around just in time to see the plate she held in her hand clatter to the floor. You can recognize blue and yellow chunks of its contents spilled over on the floor, but what had seemed unappetizing before now invokes a sense of disgust in you. You require something else for sustenance, and human food just won’t make the cut.
  10.
  11. However, you have more pressing matters to worry about. You look up, and you’re just close enough to make up the features of your girlfriend. However, instead of shrieking out in horror like you thought she would, her blue eyes widened in joy and she leaped over to tackle you to the ground. You feel her arms wrapped around you, and her giggles ring beside your ears.
  12.
  13. “Anon,” she said, “is that you?” You attempt to nod your head in response. “You became a tarantula? How?” You did not know either, so you lifted both of your forearms in response. She begins to laugh in her signature, slightly psychopathic fashion. Was she excited that you turned into a spider? You knew that she was slightly… off even before you two started going out together, but her tolerance was astounding.
  14.
  15. “I’ll bring you something to eat, OK?” She asked as she closed the curtains and walked out the room. Good. The sun was starting to irritate you.
  16.
  17. A few minutes later, she returns, bringing with her bugs and insects on the platter. She must’ve bought them for her streams prior, and they came in handy right now. You munch and wolf down your treat. It sure is strange to find such critters appealing, when they used to creep you out when she cooked and ate them on stream. Among them you find a tarantula, but cannibalism is the least of your problems right now.
  18.
  19. Although you cannot see her face very clearly, you sense a penetrating gaze coming from her. You look up from the puddle forming on the floor, meeting her craving gaze and drooling mouth. Was she hungry? You kinda felt bad for eating all of her snacks, but she could always just shop for more online. Right now, you must find out why you became this way and how to transform back into a human.
  20.
  21. After a while, you begin to accept the new normal. It’s not like there were any clues to help you solve the mystery, and living as a tarantula was actually a lot better than you thought. The bedroom was surprisingly spacious once the both of you managed to clean up the room (though most of it was her effort as you could not do much pushing and lifting with your thin limbs), and food was served twice a day with your meals tasting better than whatever Haachama used to serve you.
  22.
  23. Your family and friends were beginning to worry about your disappearance, but your girlfriend has been constantly reassuring them that you’re safe and just had urgent matters on hand. You did not really work before, and her income was easily able to sustain the both of you, especially when you are a spider and don’t require too much to live on. Though the frequent trips to the pet shop could raise some suspicions, she did not seem to mind too much.
  24.
  25. If anything, she seems happier than when she was together with you as a human, and seemed overjoyed at you becoming a spider. Though you could no longer speak and human language appears to be more gurgled and unclear, the both of you still managed to convey your intentions through body language.
  26.
  27. There was only one major concern, and that was her gaze growing more and more eager over time. At first, you thought that she was looking at your food, and though it might be a bit weird, you knew of her distinct eating habits and paid it no heed. As of lately, however, you noticed her presence becoming stronger than ever, and her penetrating stare boring into you made you really uncomfortable. Maybe you were just imagining things. After all, you are extremely lucky to have a girlfriend to care for you in this state. You would’ve been dead thrice over if you were dating anybody else.
  28.
  29. You climb into her streaming room, looking for pests that you could eat. You see a shining rectangle sitting on her desk. You do not really recognize apparatus anymore, but you still climb closer for a look. “GIANT SPIDER COOKING”? What does that mean? Your instinct tells you to turn back, but curiosity gets the better of you. There was an unending stream of letters to the right of the screen. That’s odd.
  30. The door slams shut behind you. The hairs on your legs tingle, and you sluggishly turn to the blonde figure. Weeks of feeding have made you fat and slow. You notice your reflection from the blade she was holding in her hand. You crawled away from her, but she seemed to pay you no heed and walked straight to her chair.
  31.
  32. The door would not open. You vaguely recognize her greeting. She turns towards you, brandishing her knife as she walks forward. There is no escape now, with your back to the corner. You should’ve connected the dots sooner. She was never hungry for the apples or the critters. No. What she wanted since that morning was to eat you.
  33.
  34. Now, there is no escape.
