- Kichijoji: Park + Ghibli
- Kamakura: Very beautiful, lots of temples, also an art gallery (iirc)
- Shinjuku: Always fun just to wander around
- Akihabara: Ditto, also great place to hunt for old/rare games and game mags
- Shibuya: Walk from the station up to the top of the hill, through Yoyogi, and to Harajuku
- Yoyogi: Big, beautiful park, with lots of people doing various group activities
- Harajuku: Fun just to wander around, lots of cheap clothes with ridiculous Engrish
- Asakusa: Big historical/touristy area with temple
- Ginza: Can be interesting to wander around, sometimes cultural events
- Ueno: Huge park, zoo, museum, and art gallery
- Nakano: Nakano Broadway Sun Mall is good for geeky stuff and antique toys
- Imperial Palace: Huge park, zillions of Pokéstops
- Roppongi: Has some neat statues, different atmosphere than other areas
- Yokohama: Historical, spacious, neat Chinatown
