D “Hi there, what’s up?”
K “Do you have business with me?”
D “Not really, but I figured it’d be nice to talk to someone I don’t know yet.”
K “That’s surprising. Most people know me nowadays.”
D “Well, I ain’t most people. Mind filling me in?”
K “I guess I can humor you.”
K “I’m Kai DeVito, the current owner of Kaos-Steiner, a technology company. Reason a lot of the older people here know is because I was made the head of the company at the young age of 16 after my worthless father’s passing.”
D “Shit, 16?!”
K “Well, I actually didn’t start running the company until I turned 18. My mother took care of things until then. But I was 16 when I was named the next head of the company by my father’s will.”
D “Wait, aren’t company heads elected by stockholders and stuff? I mean, I mean, even if you’re running the show, I don’t think you can have people related to the head just get the spot without proving themselves.”
K “Normally, you’d be right. But KS is privately owned, so we don’t have anyone to answer to except ourselves.”
D “Damn, guess your old man had a lot of faith in you to leave you with a company.”
K “More like he left me to fix his mistakes.”
“Kai walks away, his mood now sour.”
D“Wonder what crawled up his ass?”
