Although not as prevalent or romanticized as the Italian Cosa Nostra, the Russian mob is embedded in American popular culture. With countless of Hollywood movies, books, shows, and video games—it seems as if though Americans can not get enough of the red "mafiya."

Approximately two years ago, I published an article detailing the rise of Eurasian organized crime out of the Brooklyn Blocks area of East Beach, better known as "Little Moscow" to locals. However, it is clear now that the aforementioned scope and progress of the Russian mob was vastly exaggerated by myself at the time. The Russian mob is not what it once was: a power structure capable of controlling a variety of areas at once and eliminating entire [url=https://forum.ls-rp.io/viewtopic.php?f=160&t=626982&hilit=malangone+crime+family][u]organizations[/u][/url] out of existence.

Just last year, over thirty Russian mob associates and members were arrested in the Willowfield plaza. Although the Russian mob has taken significant hits, it is maintained that it is the "most dangerous organized criminal threat to American society."

If the Russian mob can make a comeback is something the future will unfold. Only more can be revealed as time goes on.[/quote]

An unnamed reputed Russian mobster, along with two associates, was shot and killed inside of his vehicle in Willowfield on late Saturday night, the LSPP reports.

According to police, an SUV was driving through the Willowfield homes with two black sedans following when gunfire rang out. All of the occupants in the two sedans were armed with a variety of weaponry, including a modified AR-15, according to eyewitnesses. Gunfire was exchanged between the two groups and that in the SUV, leading to the death of all of the occupants of the SUV.

Police are currently searching for any vehicles matching the descriptions of the two sedans. No arrests have currently been made and it is unclear if authorities have a lead on any suspect, let alone a group of suspects. Authorities have also been hesitant to release any information which would identify those deceased.

"It remains a very active investigation at this point," LSPD Chief of Detectives John Smith said.

The shootout is being described as something comparable to the mafia violence that hit the city of Los Santos in 2017. "We thought those days were over," Smith said of the shootout. "Very surprising, but I guess old habits die hard.[/quote]
