- Dr. ____, congratulations on your promotion to head researcher for SCP-____. We're all looking forward to your future findings. In light of your promotion, we are giving you access to our secondary classification codes for SCP-Objects. These codes are far more precise than the usual Safe-Euclid-Keter designations, and as such, are highly classified. You are not to share these codes with with anyone below Level 4 and select Level 3 personnel who have been cleared for access. We feel it necessary to keep these codes secret from all but command personnel due to the highly specific details they list about the SCP-Objects in question, and further, how highly we prize them. As such, they cannot be allowed to fall into unsecure, or worse, enemy hands. A sapient SCP learning exactly how much value we place on it would be absolutely catastrophic. Understanding this, we expect you to memorize these codes then purge all copies of it from your computer's hard drive and all systems it might have found its way onto. Failure to comply with any of these directives will result with immediate demotion and application of Class A amnesiacs. If we discover you have leaked this list willfully to a known hostile entity, or to any SCP capable of understanding it as well as their secondary classification code, you, as well as anyone who you might maintain close relations too, will be executed at the soonest available opportunity.
- Once again, looking forward to your future work with us Dr. ____.

- Each SCP, besides being assigned a traditional Safe, Euclid, or Keter classification, will be assigned another based upon several factors thus permitting Agents and Researchers to better understand the nature of the Subject in question.
- The designation code is organized to prioritize facts related to the danger levels of the item
- Danger Level: How dangerous to sapient beings (mostly Human Beings) the Object should be considered.
- -Beneficial (Class 1)= The SCP-Object has no harmful effects whatsoever, and further, any anomalous effects it does possess are completely beneficial to Human Beings with no negative consequences whatsoever.
- -Harmless (Class 2) = The SCP-Object is not DIRECTLY dangerous, but secondary effects of it's anomalous effect could inflict injury upon an adult human being.
- -Limited Danger (Class 3)= The SCP-Object has dangerous properties that are directly linked with it's anomalous effect, but these triggers are either hard enough to achieve, or otherwise unobtrusive enough, that actual containment is not truly necessary to avoid physical, mental, spiritual, [DATA EXPUNGED], spacial, temporal, or existential harm.
- -Containable (Class 4)= The SCP-Object can be contained with a reasonable amount of safety and any dangerous effects it might have will not escape either. Further, it must not actively and persistently attempt to escape containment, at least not for the purposes of inflicting harm upon Sapient Beings.
- -Malevolent (Class 5)= The SCP-Object actively and frequently seeks to escape containment (if it is within containment at all) to inflict harm upon Sapient Beings whenever possible.
- -Uncontainable (Class 6)= The SCP-Object is uncontainable by any means available to the Foundation at the current time, for any reasonable period of time. Due to the risk of exposure such objects inherently possess, whether or not they are beneficial or malevolent, they are classified as higher than Malevolent in terms of danger.
- Containment Level: How securely the SCP-Object is contained by the Foundation at the present time.
- -Unknown (Class 1)= SCP-Object's specific location is unknown.
- -Location Known (Class 2)= SCP-Object is not contained, but it's position is known and tracking of it is possible.
- -Enemy Controlled (Class 3)= SCP-Object is in the hands of a rival organization and might be utilized against the Foundation and its goals at some point in the near future.
- -Contained (Class 4)= SCP-Object is contained reasonably safely within a Foundation facility, and should it go rogue it is reasonably certain (regardless of cost) that the Foundation could recontain it.
- -Controlled (Class 5)= SCP-Object either willingly works for the Foundation, or has other levers by which it's total control has been achieved, with none of it's anomalous effects being beyond the control of the Foundation.
- -Neutralized (Class 6)= SCP-Object has been destroyed, terminated, or otherwise made inoperable and unable to render any anomalous effects for the foreseeable future.
- Priority Level: This level suggests how great a priority retrieval and/or recontainment of the SCP-Object should be considered.
- -Non-Priority (Class 1)= The escape or prolonged lack of containment of this SCP-Object from containment is not dangerous in any direct form. Its retrieval, while encouraged, is not absolutely required unless it is known to have come into the possession of an enemy agency. Upon which it is elevated to Class 3 or Class 4 priority depending on the nature of the new owner.
- -Mitigated (Class 2)= The escape or prolonged lack of containment of this SCP-Object is considered a minor issue, worthy of the deployment of a small recovery team of atleast one Agent and several D-Class personnel within a reasonable amount of time. This status can be elevated to Class 3 or 4 if it falls into the possession of an enemy agency.
- -Moderate (Class 3)= The escape or prolonged lack of containment of this SCP-Object is worthy of a dedicated, but small, team of Agents and D-Class personnel immediately dispatched with intent to capture or recontain the SCP-Object.
- -Substantial (Class 4)= The escape or prolonged lack of containment of this SCP-Object is worthy of a dedicated, well funded, large task force with the sole duty of tracking down and keeping this object contained as soon as possible.
- -Extermination (Class 5)= The SCP-Object is considered too dangerous to allow outside of the Foundation in any way, shape, or form, and thus any means to destroy (or incapacitate for as long a period of time as possible should actual annihilation not be possible) than allowed lose upon the world.
- -Apocalytpic (Class 6)= The escape or prolonged lack of containment of this SCP-Object from containment is believed to bring about an XK-Class apocalyptic event sufficient to bring humanity to extinction.
- Intelligence level: How intelligent the Object in question is. Use of an IQ test is permitted, but not necessary in cases of Objects who exhibit obvious intelligence, but cannot undergo a psych-evaluation to determine their IQ.
- -Object (Class 1)= SCP-Object is incapable of anything intelligent, up to and including self-multiplication in any way shape or form.
- -Microbial/Plant (Class 2)= SCP-Object is capable of the most rudimentary non-sentient actions, but is incapable of true decision making capabilites. It can react to it's environment, but doesn't actually make choices (A virus doesn't choose to infect a cell, nor does it seek out to infect cells, it simply infects cells it comes into contact with and its form is such that it makes such encounters highly likely)
- -Insectile (Class 3)= SCP-Object has low level sentience (most likely able to feel pain and pleasure, but cannot outwardly communicate this in such a way that a Human Being is able to recognize it), and is possessed of the ability to make simple decisions.
- -Animal (Class 4)= SCP-Object has true sentience (is confirmed to have the ability to feel pain and pleasure), and is capable of making complex decisions.
- -Human (Class 5)= SCP-Object is sapient (is able to understand and speculate not only upon the results of it's actions, but is able to act counter to its own instincts based upon it's own will, as well as make philosophical observations upon creatures alien to itself as well as the universe), as well as able to make complex decisions and plans for far future actions, as well as able to act in a logical manner (though not necessarily based upon human logic).
- -Transhuman (Class 6)= SCP-Object is obviously intelligent at least up too the human level, but further, is also obviously so far in advance of normal human intelligence that normal systems of logic cannot be utilized when
- Mobility Level: This refers to how easily the object is able to move about in any given circumstances. This does not take into account restraints or other imprisoning devices implemented by the Foundation to keep the Object contained.
- -Location (Class 1)= SCP-Object is physically immobile by reason of it being an exact geographical location, such as a building, cavern, or similar, and can always be located.
- -Limited Mobility (Class 2)= SCP-Object is capable of movement, but only under specific triggered circumstances that can be avoided (this includes picking the object up by hand and moving it)
- -Containable Mobility (Class 3)= SCP-Object is fully capable of movement in normal circumstances, but the degree of mobility can be restricted given that certain triggers are met.
- -Fully Mobile (Class 4)= SCP-Object is always mobile, has no triggers that will prevent movement, and must be contained through incarceration by some method or other.
- -Dangerously Mobile (Class 5)= SCP-Object can only be contained through extreme measures and/or threats of extermination that are equally extreme.
- -Transdimensional (Class 6)= SCP-Object cannot be contained due to it's anomalous abilities warping the very laws of space and time in such a way that incarceration is impossible, and threats ineffective.
- Understanding Level: This refers to how well the Foundation understands the Object, and how close the Foundation is to releasing knowledge of the SCP to the public (if at all).
- -Not Understood (Class 1)= SCP-Object's full capabilities are reasonably well understood, but neither the triggers for their anomalous abilities, nor the processes by which they work are understood.
- -Some Triggers Understood (Class 2)= At least one trigger for the SCP-Object's abilities is understood completely
- -Triggers Understood (class 3)= All triggers for the SCP-Object's abilities are completely understood.
- -Some Processes Understood (Class 4)= Not only are all triggers for the SCP-Object's abilities understood, but at least one process by which it exhibit's it's anomalous behavior can be explained by modern science.
- -All Processes Understood (Class 5)= All Processes are completely understood by modern science, and the object is to enter the stages and experiments necessary to release knowledge of the event to the public. If it is determined that knowledge of the SCP-Object should never be released to the public in any way, shape, or form, then it will remain at Class 5 until such a time when it is considered safe to do so.
- -Released (Class 6)= The object is now released to the public. It is to receive the -EX suffix to it's SCP number immediately and be archived so it's catalog number might be freed up.
- Example: SCP-500
- D1-C5-P1-I1-U3 (shorthand would be 15113)
- Given your new promotion to Level 4 personnel within the foundation, you will find that your access to the Foundation's SCP Catalog has greatly increased, and that all entries have had their secondary classification codes revealed.
