- September Content Patch for Patashu's OCs:
- * Flux's duties have been re-prioritized to focus on adventure parks, theme parks, simulation towns, service unit fleets, pop star units and similar (often cheap) animatronics. She still knows how to do Battle Fortress, milspec and vehicle construction and maintenance on commission, of course!
- * Arcis has been rebased on top of the Xylean magic system and now uses it by default unless there is a well-defined system of magic in the setting he's (roleplay-contextually) born in. He is an Arcane native caster who specializes in dumping huge mana pools into Fire, Atmos and Ice evocation spells, while interested in magical theory and research in general, including tinkering, artifice and other disciplines. Future!Arcis is likely to become a prolific magitek engineer.
- **D-NITE Service Fleet (DSF)**
- * 8ft tall Dragonite Robots (as many as is appropriate), it/they/he
- * "Hello! How can we be of service?" Friendly, cheerful, compliant, can perform a wide variety of tasks with a smile, can be instructed in anything it doesn't know how to do and will do its best to learn
- * Defaults to 'clanky metal robot, painted, worn at the edges of panels, clicky facial features and details', but matches the tech aesthetic of the setting, such that they can be constructed and maintained locally.
- * Low individuation: knowledge, relationships and skills sync imperfectly between nodes during downtime meetings, allowing data to 'slosh around like water in connected containers'.
- * A local collection of units is known as a 'Fleet', so you might have 'Acacia Town 1st Fleet'.
- * Each unit has a big serial number in stencil font (inspired by Zenless Zone Zero Bangoo's neckerchiefs. Can be stenciled on oversized neckerchiefs or on wingsails). Decommissioned units' numbers are reused (r1, r2, r3, etc. for the number of times this number was recommissioned). If two units happen to end up with the same number due to migrating between distinct fleets/settings, one of them gets redesignated and the service logs note the relabelling of historical data.
- * Additional markings: Faction logo (a lighthouse with a dragonair coiled around it, monotone black on negative space) on the hips, Fleet logo (usually derived from local markings or features. Example: A blacksmithing hammer with floating dragonite wings) on the shoulders, personal emblem (chosen as a small degree of individuation or by users. example: a tricolour of inward spiring sparkles) on the tail. Pictograms on the chassis explain the purpose and capability of units and desired patterns for interacting with them.
- * Can come in alternate form factors, like taurs, vehicles and macros, with specialized designations. Can also have branded saddlebags, modules, equipment, weapons, etc. either permanently or as required.
- * Free use: A unit is available for anything a member of the society it's in asks for, as their production numbers will be increased automatically to meet collective needs. Never hesitate to ask for anything!
- * High maintenance (in an endearing/rewarding way): Requires extensive downtime, inspections, repairs and maintenance, with service logs detailing all historical and current issues and providing diagrams of teardowns. Units past their service life are decommissioned and a new unit recommissioned.
- * Malfunction-prone (light-hearted/safe framing): Stiff, struggling movements, exhaustion from heavy labour, electrical and mechanical failures, world model glitches, software faults, brownouts, juddery walk cycles, meticulously calculated planning, misconceptions, combat stress and performance degradation.
- * Spreads from society to society and setting to setting through being considered valued and reliable and enjoyable to have around. Can be built locally in a new place by an inspired engineer (allows for passage between causally unrelated settings through being dreamed up) or can bring their own construction and centralized server equipment to start a new Fleet.
- **Ryan**
- * Nusauan phoenix (he/him), extroverted, boisterous, playful, physically capable, outgoing, young adult (21~25) ((pokeverse alts: growlithe, vulpix, zorua))
- * Teaches/mentors other students at the Xavan magic academy, but experiences wanderlust often and travels Xylea.
- * Dabbling tinkerer, mage, amateur combatant. Fighting style involving Fire passionate tempo self-busts, Atmos dancing and weaving (reading an opponent's intentions and movements through 'predicting the weather', Fire/Atmos imbued punching and grappling, dodgetanking, trying to not deplete limited stamina/mana too fast. Uses arm bandages with runes that have to be commonly re-applied. Ultimately saves money you'd normally need on good weapons and armour! A very 'poverty' fighting style for someone who isn't seriously in the career.
- * Is exploring a developing interest in robots by travelling to newly opening theme parks, adventure parks and simulation towns across Xylea. He's interested in low-stakes environments where he can talk to and hang out with robots, ask questions and figure out how they work, watch or make them malfunction, spar with them and stress test them, voyeur on them while they stumble and malfunction through their pre-programmed routines and procedural stageplays and simulated quests, all with no preconceptions, judgement or stakes.
- * With higher skill, GP and influence, will commission simulation towns of his own to explore fantasies he's concocted, or find and network with like-minded friends and exchange ideas/go on outings together.
- * Also enjoys the prospect of piloting and roleplaying as struggling, stressed, poorly functioning giant animatronics, either having to go along with stage directions or just freestyling his own fun, having to pretend to be this character even as it becomes impossible to keep up the facade, quicklearning mechanical cockpits full of gauges and levers.
- * Records fancams with his runetablet and publishes them on the runenet??
- **Nicole**
- * Alolan vulpix ((alts: vulpix, blitzle, galarian ponyta, android shetland sheepdog)) anthro male femboy (he/her), shy but becomes powerdrunk when enabled and emboldened, young (16~21)
- * Dresses in techwear jumpsuits/casual attire with markings and flashy colours
- * Comes from money or power or is sponsored by a relevant academy/starbase that saw potential in him - is a Fleet Commander far beyond his age, wisdom and experience would indicate is appropriate
- * Fleet consists of many fancy vessel classes with mural art in exquisite detail over their boxy/pragmatic/artistic surfaces
- * Basically lives a life of luxury, every need and desire catered for by the automated crew members, his comfort considered paramount even if he insists it's fine
- * Regularly engages in wargames or system defense against other automated fleets, wielding incredible power in a setting where there's incredible resource abundance and manufacturing capacity in home systems
- * Gratuitous damage and malfunctions and cross-fleet commander playful cocky banter as he gets into it
- * Every ship will be rebuilt and his fleet rank will go up after every mission - pretty much no matter what he does he'll snowball into higher prestige and budgets
- * Sometimes goes out on long expeditions that do have local resource/logistics scarcity and has to make do until reinforcements come or he returns to an allied port
- * Framing is lighthearted and noblebright and everything he wishes to do will be permitted and rewarded, the ultimate power fantasy in a setting where other Fleet Commanders are simultaneously experiencing their own power fantasies and collectively they make the setting safer, more productive and indulgently more peacocky
- * May actually be hyper competent when in a battle trance??
- * Bridge/cockpit is a livestreamer setup??
- * ((setting-specific alts: Guildmaster or sponsors a clan/party, (automaton) army commander, dungeon master, frontier town lord, [insert other vehicle type here] fleet commander/shipmaster, can be isekai'd into))
