  1. Prospect Roasters - Basement
  2.
  3. Newly replaced wooden stairs descend down into a clean, welcoming basement. One of those lift chairs have been built along the railing to make the steep slope handicap accessible. The basement is a little on the cool side and the walls are left to the bare brick. The lighting is pleasantly soft with warm circles of light instead of harsh fluorescents. A large, round table has been set up in the middle of the room with 13 chairs around the perimeter, but room enough for more. There is also a couch and a TV, a small washer and dryer in a closet off on one end, a little kitchen area with a small stove, and of course the smell of coffee wafts down constantly. There is a dumb-waiter built in against one of the kitchen walls to transport food - or whatever - up and down from above. Against one wall is a bright red phone booth. There is one entire room dedicated to a communal library.
  4.
  5. There is a simple, mundane video camera above the doorway at the top of the stairs at the end of the hall. It is outside the room, so privacy can still be assured. If you tamper with this, please inform staff or Eloise immediately.
  6.
  7. If you attempt to bring in an unauthorized guest, please contact Eloise immediately. Do not +meet them into the basement.
  8.
  9. Since it has come up a time or two, smoking over by the 'window' brings the smoke straight up. There is no drifting and no bad smell.
  10.
  11. Mo makes his way down the stairs, and takes a look around once he reaches the bottom.
  12.
  13. Caressa puts the phone away, "I need to be going for awhile. We'll talk again soon Aerik. You have my number." She rises, gathers her things and makes her way out.
  14.
  15. Aerik smiles, nods and waves after Caressa. He nods to the newest arrival before addressing Arumi, "Dunno.. First I have heard of it." he smiles
  16.
  17. Arumi is flopped out on a couch, giant travel mug of coffee going, tablet in her lap. Waving to the departing Caressa, she smiles to Aerik. "So you have any special projects going besides this... food?"
  18.
  19. "Yo yo yo! What's the rumpus?!" exclaims Mo as he looks around.
  20.
  21. Aerik shakes his head, "I'm a chef by trade.. I have a cooking stream and am a baker at Witches Brew.. Other than that nothing going on."
  22.
  23. Arumi waves to MoGui. "Oh hi, saw you once.. at the Steamed Hams place." she waves to him. Nodding then to Aerik. "I design satellites. So I guess.. what you do is pretty relevant to giving out food then?"
  24.
  25. Mo looks to Arumi, "Oh cool! I read the stars. Sometimes, nudge'em this way or that."
  26.
  27. Aerik smiles, "Satellites huh? Neat." he smiles and takes a bite of sandwich.. "What kind?"
  28.
  29. Arumi smiles to each of the, shrugging a little. "The kind that go into space," she giggles. "That's... really all I can say."
  30.
  31. Mo didn't have much to add - he was partial to the ADVENTURER! (tm) type of Etherites. He gives Arumi consideration. "Do you know Adora?"
  32.
  33. Aerik grins, "You could tell me but you'd have to kill me?" he jokes and takes a drink. "WHat do you do for fun?"
  34.
  35. Arumi looks to Mo, folding her hands over her tablet. I have met Doctor Goldhart. Haven't gotten to talk to her much. Hope to talk to her son. Do you work with her then?" She then glances to Aerik. "No, I just can't tell you," she snickers. "And well, depends on the day. You?"
  36.
  37. Aerik grins and leans back in his chair, finishing off his sandwich as Arumi speaks with Mo.. Then when she addresses him again, "That depends on the minute.. I am very much a fan of spontaneous activity."
  38.
  39. Mo shakes his head. "No, she's not really in the market for a sidekick or assistant, she said. But she offered to see if any of her colleagues could use somebody."
  40.
  41. Arumi sits up, looking over MoGui. "Well I'm Dr. ARumi Hanada, in case I didn't say at the restaurant that other day. What do you do, that you'd be offered as an assistant?" Smiling to Aerik. "Well you cook, for a lot of people that's a hobby. I've been spending time at a place called Guardian Games, lately. When I'm not at the beach."
  42.
  43. Aerik hrms softly, "I haven't been to Guardian Games.. What do they do?" he shudders at the mention of the beach, "I wish I could go there but." he trails off, a hand coming up to rub his temples.
  44.
  45. Mo gives Arumi a smile, "I make work tasks easier by being around. I can also make other stuff easier by nudging someone's stars this way or that. And if I get taken along on an Adventure!(tm), I'm handy with the iron and stuff." A pause. "I was Captain Levinbolt's ward." He says it like /THE/ Captain Levinbolt.
  46.
  47. Arumi nods to Aerik. "It has a variety of kinds of games. A lot of role playing games, but others too." Then to Mo, she tilts her head. "Oh I see. Well, there may be some point in the future where I could use people who can work with steel and aluminum, actually. There may be. Months in the future, but maybe later. Who's Captain Levinbolt?"
  48.
  49. Mo blinks, as if Arumi has asked him who Prince was. Or Beyonce. "Like, only the greatest Electrodyne Engineer adventurer ever! Founder of the Irregulars! Captain of the best aethership zeppelin! Puncher of Nazis and such."
  50.
  51. Aerik blinks as Mo speaks and shakes his head.. "I'll have to check it out sometime, I like rpgs.." he smiles but otherwise keeping to himself while you both speak.
  52.
  53. Arumi nods absentmindedly to Aerik, as she's frankly completely engaged in MoGui starting to talk about some history. "I've done a good bit of reading about the Electrodyne Engineers of course, but I don't think I came across that explorer just yet. But... wait. Either he was very old, or you are. Either way, that's impressive. Where did you guys go?"
  54.
  55. "Where /didn't/ we go?! That's the better question. Anyway, Emrick and I recovered the zeppelin recently. We're restoring it now. And then we gotta go to Hollow Earth to recover some other artifacts of his," offers Mo.
  56.
  57. Aerik lifts his mug and takes another drink. He continues to remain quiet as the two speak.
  58.
  59. Arumi glances over to Aerik. "Sorry, but..." She then looks up to Mo again. " How... How long ago was this? Seriously. And... Hollow Earth? Oh, early dimensional travel. Wow. So he took you on this. And his ship was... stored all this time? I'd like to see that."
  60.
  61. Mo shrugs, "Um, like ... twentysomething, in my years. But they're like dog years to human years. Or something. So in mortal years, mmmm ... a little over a hundred?"
  62.
  63. "This was back during the war. The second one. Anyway, after we disbanded, everyone kinda went their separate ways. The Captain, he's still lost somewhere. But we found the airship, yeah. And we're getting it up and running again. So we can make the trek to Hollow Earth," appends Mo.
  64.
  65. Arumi gawks at Mo. "You don't look it. Congratulations. But yes. Um. I'd like to see this sometime. I think... it'd be appropriate, don't you think? Here we are, 150 years later, and I'm building a ship to travel to Etherspace and beyond. That's... the modern version of what your Captain did."
  66.
  67. Mo gives Arumi an appraising once-over, then a small nod. "Ok. She's over at a hangar we've rented. Em's working on her, little by little. Maybe you could help if you're handy with aether-tech."
  68.
  69. Arumi smiles to Mo. "I can look. If there's a way I can build some tools to help. I'll help restore that ship. What's the airship's name?" A glance to Aerik. "Now you know my project. Space."
  70.
  71. Aerik grins, "Nothing wrong with Space.. Lots of worlds to explore.. New experiences to have.."
  72.
  73. "The al-Mirzam. And thanks," offers Mo to Arumi. "We'll take all the help we can get. The stakes are a little high, and the timetable is tight."
  74.
  75. Arumi giggles. "al-Mirzam. I see. Yeah. Interesting. Well... why is the timetable tight?" She pulls open her tablet again, typing in some notes, brow furrowed as she listens.
  76.
  77. Aerik leans forward, elbows resting on the table and chin on his palms as he listens..
  78.
  79. "The alignment of the celestial cities and conflict of dragons approaches. We need to recover one of the Captain's artifacts, that was provided to him by Mr. Fu before then." Mo shrugs, "Its ... a little complicated."
  80.
  81. Arumi goes into her bag, and pulls out a business card. She then holds it out to MoGui. "Text me. We'll meet up." Then smiling to Aerik. "Sorry about that. So what was that before about... special food you were going to make?"
  82.
  83. Mo peers at the offered card, then snatches it up and tucks it away for safekeeping. "Got it! See ya soon," then he gives a hat-tip to Aerik. "Nice meeting you too, but I gotta split and go prepare Mr. Fu's tea." And then he turns to depart.
