The Beginning [CYOA - Aborted]

MLP QUEST – THE BEGINNING OF THE BEGINNING

The first thing you realize upon regaining your senses is that it is
exceptionally dark wherever it is you are. The second thing is that
you are plummeting at an exceptionally terrifying rate further into
the darkness. You begin wildly flailing your limps in an attempt to
find purchase on anything that might slow your descent, even as the
voice in the back of your head realizes that you are most likely
already at terminal velocity. Barring a miracle you are most likely
doomed to go splat against whatever surface you strike first.

As you begin to resign yourself against whatever fate has in store
for you, you spot something rapidly approaching in the distance. A
gigantic platform glowing in defiance of the darkness seems almost
welcoming. Upon it gigantic portraits, for lack of a better term,
shimmered and seemed almost insubstantial.

The largest seemed to bear an image of a man with indistinct
features and it seemed to be where you are currently aimed at. It
also seemed like the easiest to hit, if you wanted the choice of
where you wanted to make contact with the surface.

Encircling it are three large portraits bearing images of oddly
colored and proportioned ponies. One was a relatively normal
pony, the second was of a unicorn and the third of a pegasus.

A third and final ring consisted of six smaller portraits. They
also bore ponies but they seemed far more definite in their
design then their vague counter parts. Around each portrait there
was a name: “Twilight Sparkle”, “Applejack”, “Rainbow Dash”,
“Rarity”, “Pinkie Pie” and “Fluttershy.”

There is a smattering of much smaller portraits filling the rest
of the platform like stars in the sky, but time is running out.
You must make a decision before one is made for you.
