  1. Campaign Background:
  2. -It is the year 2373, and the nation of Ohmist is in the wake of the end of a 5-year-long war. It has been a year since the rebel leadership was destroyed, and in the time since various clean-up and flushing operations have been carried out to find and destroy the remaining rebel encampments and sympathizers.
  3.
  4. -Ohmist was initially founded in 2237 as a human-majority colony that belonged to the nation of Neukoenigsgarten. For 84 years, development and settlement was carried out and the colony served its function. In 2321, Ohmist declared independence, which led to a short war that lasted 2 years and ended with the victory of the Ohmist independents and their allies, including dwarves from the nation of Hamerberg and elves from the nation of Si-Rau. The nation's independence lasted for 14 years, until the Si-Rau elves enacted a military coup led by General Armas Kivinen and took over the government, then declared the country's allegiance to Si-Rau in 2335.
  5.
  6. -Under Si-Rau, human and dwarvish businesses, figures of power, and traditions were destroyed or removed in favor of traditional Si-Rau replacements. Dwarves and humans became second class citizens, and were not allowed to serve in the military. Many of them left the established towns and cities in favor of moving to unsettled lands and starting their own villages there, enlisting the assistance of druids from the Circle of Elemat to enable the growth of crops and the finding and bolstering of natural springs in exchange for their allegiance and assurance that they will follow the druids' commands of stability and slow growth.
  7.
  8. -After 32 years of being ruled by Si-Rau, anti-elf sentiments grew under the surface. Things boiled over when it was declared that the settlements being made would need to pay a greater amount of taxes, and several were destroyed when the elders and councils tried to sue or refused to do so. The rebellion was initially the town guards and militias fighting against the Si-Rau military in guerilla strikes for the first few months. Rebellion diplomats went to the nations of Del Vance and Hamersberg to petition for support in exchange for future economic benefits. The Elemat druids attempted to prevent the rebellion from escalating, but their representatives were slain by Si-Rau military. With the slaying of the representatives, the Elemat druids called for allegiances from various nations, among them the elvish nation of Vihr-Laak.
  9.
  10. -With the arrival of reinforcements, the rebellion received much needed weapons and equipment, and were able to engage in proper warfare as well as continued guerilla tactics. The rebels had advantages in numbers, but the Si-Rau elves were able to make up for the difference thanks to greater ability in magic and brewing of potions which could empower their soldiers. The war progressed in a way that the borders of Ohmist which were land-locked were able to be retaken by the reinforcements from Del Vance and Hamersberg, whereas Vihr-Laak engaged the Si-Rau navy on the eastern coast and ocean of Ohmist. The presence of the Virh-Laak navy made it more difficult to receive reinforcements from Si-Rau, and so they enlisted the aid of mercenaries from the south to help in the conflict.
  11.
  12. -Over the course of the war, several tragedies and losses occurred on the side of the rebel faction. Among them was the death of Friedrich Zerka, who had been blessed with the Wooden Blade of Suilanu, Immortal of Luck and Good Fortune. His optimism and disregard for the realities of his situations led to him being slain at the Battle of Deeproot Pass, where his incantation for his Army Slaying Slash went on for too long and he was killed by archers. Another great tragedy was the Starving of Skyhold Rock, where 214 dwarves led by Jurren Goldspike blitzed and captured the keep of Skyhold Rock, but had found that their food supplies had been blighted, and their supply lines cut off by Si-Rau cavalry led by Colonel Ossian Lightning-Lance. Various attempts were made to supply the dwarves, but all were swiftly cut down and destroyed. Many nights passed where the dwarves were made to smell the food that was meant for them but was cooked by the slayers of their friends. Those who attempted to escape were struck down, though one managed to slay Ossian's brother before he was captured and killed on display. The siege ended when the remaining 144 dwarves, those who had not starved, pledged to give their lives that the castle might be destroyed and none may use it. Their prayers were answered, and the castle was obliterated by a god-strike of light from the sky. Whatever elves were not destroyed from the destruction and residual shockwave were left blind, deaf, and crippled, Colonel Ossian included.

  14. -After the military coup, Armas Kivinen took his place as Great General of Ohmist, rather than a leadership position of running the country. When the war began, he took to the seas to engage in naval warfare against the elves of Vihr-Laak. From his birth, Armas was incapable of wielding weapons without destroying them in the process thanks to a curse from the Fairy Queen Elsiya. After a series of quests, he attained the Scroll of Silver Arms, which transformed his limbs into those of a mechanical nature and of great power, which enabled him to run on water and fight as if either hand were a great maul. It is said that among the naval battles, he pulled on the mast of one boat and flung it into another, and at one point split another boat in half with a single strike. However, he and his flagship Silver Griffon somehow went missing in the third year of the conflict after going off-course to deflect a stealth attack. All attempts to contact or locate him ended in failure, and the stealth attack from the Vihr-Laak elves went through.
  15.
  16. -The war effort turned south for the rebellion thanks to guerillas in the northern territories enlisting savage bands of ogres to help them engage in taking better-protected forts and keeps. While the actions themselves were successful, the ogres would take up so much resources of food and water, as well as eating and killing prisoners, military and non-military. This led to infighting among the guerillas and the hired ogres, and crippled their operations. This then enabled Si-Rau soldiers and units to pass through the north lands and be able to support their allies on the western front, which was primarily being held by the soldiers of Del Vance and Hamerberg. In an attempt to destroy the supply chain and reinforcements, the guerillas used a magical flying weapon that they had seized in a keep they had overtaken, which held the secret lab of various magical scholars and tinkerers. The flying weapon, known as the Bronze Chalice of Green Flame, dropped magical missiles of pure destructive power, which would destroy life and leave the regions irradiated and capable of causing mutations to anyone who went through them. After dropping a single missile and finding the results satisfactory in keeping the Si-Rau army at bay, the guerillas headed east to the capitol, with the intent of dropping more missiles on the way. In an attempt to stop this, a team composing of a druid from the Circle of Elamat, a sorcerer and fighter from Del Vance, nine fighting dwarves of Hamerberg, and a turncoat wizard of Si-Rau flew up to the Bronze Chalice upon an air cavalry of griffons to take over and land the Chalice. It is unknown as to what truly happened aboard the Chalice, but when it was over the Chalice simply disappeared from this plane of existence, never to be seen again.
  17.
  18. -In the aftermath of the Bronze Chalice incident, the Circle of Elemat withdrew from the war in disgust, enabling those who held allegiance to pull away as well. With the elves of Vihr-Laak no longer involved and their coastlines safe, the Si-Rau elves were able to devote more of their power to supporting the war on land and order more troops from Si-Rau to support them without the trouble of running into the Vihr-Laak navy. The Del Vance and Hamerberg armies were disgusted in the use of the Bronze Chalice and retreated from the war while raiding and taking what they could int he process, leaving the rebellion in the same state as it had started. The war was considered ended when the leadership was dismantled and the declaration document was destroyed. In the year since, the remaining rebels were mostly wiped out by Si-Rau military or mercenaries. Si-Rau is again in control of Ohmist, Del Vance and Hamerberg are engaged in their own conflicts elsewhere, and none who were once a rebel speak of it lest they be executed for treason.
