- A. APIs are essential to the web/internet for example you got the latest Samsung or iPhone these are not weather devices so to show the current temperature or weather is has to get this data from somewhere? This somewhere is a server where you can connect to it's like a computer that stores an api but what does APIs do? well it either gives or gets data from your phone another example is like think that an outlet is an api and you want to charge your phone so meaning without an api you can't do certain things another example is when you talk to Siri is connects to the amazon api etc.
