- You say, "So, to put things very simply. This is a... debate forum of sorts to discuss solutions to our wild magic issue, namely if sorcery is causing the issue or not."
- Nawain exclaims to Unaka, "Try a motherfruit apple!"
- Pullman says, "I have a theory."
- You say to Pullman, "You have the floor, er, ground."
- Unaka says to Nawain, "Oh. It's good."
- Unaka says to Casari, "Sorry. It looks like there's somebody in charge? Maybe ask her if there's time to ask your question."
- Unaka thoughtfully says, "Never been to a picnic with somebody in charge before."
- You say, "Not really in charge persay, just to keep it somewhat in order."
- Imroth asks, "Motherfruit apple?"
- Avrenka says to Unaka, "Good to see you again."
- Casari says, "It can wait until a good time."
- You ask Pullman, "You were saying though?"
- Saragos quietly says to Nawain, "Thanks."
- Nawain says to Imroth, "They're said to be descendants of the apples Enelne gave, way back when."
- Mewawl asks Avrenka, "Couldnt have just walked here from the half pint huh?"
- Avrenka says to Mewawl, "I didn't know the way here to be honest."
- Kethrai says to Mewawl, "Wouldn't be proper."
- Mewawl says to Avrenka, "That I can understand."
- Laureh says, "Mmm so good."
- Kethrai asks Laureh, "Good to see you again also, I hope you got your equipment sorted after Asketi's Ride...?"
- Laureh says, "I did! My friends helped me find them."
- Avrenka asks Unaka, "So ... anything new lately?"
- Imroth exclaims, "Certainly delicious!"
- Unaka exclaims to Avrenka, "First time eating a purple apple!"
- Avrenka asks, "Huh ... how is it?"
- Unaka says, "Oh, it was good. Real good."
- Kethrai says, "Would make a really good apple pie."
- Unaka says, "We don't get that kind down by Boar Clan. At least, not that I've seen."
- You say to Pullman, "Feel free to say it here, its fine."
- Laureh says, "A paladin friend was kind enough to banner the room so I could get my stuff unburdened with battle."
- Nawain says to Kethrai, "Or fratvarit."
- Unaka asks you, "Sorry. Should I be quiet?"
- You ask Unaka, "Talking is fine. Um. Actually, everyone, can you maybe refrain from doing training or put away pets and whatnot?"
- Kethrai says to Laureh, "Glad to hear it."
- Jecala quietly says, "The congregation grows."
- Unaka says, "Oh, okay."
- Gragnel says, "Francis was tired anyways."
- Avrenka asks, "So what's this picnic about?"
- Pullman says, "Thank you."
- Unaka says to Avrenka, "Not sure. I thought it was about food, but I guess there's more to it."
- Pullman says, "Hello."
- You say to Avrenka, "Wild Magic, sorcery, etc."
- Pullman says, "I'm Pullman."
- Pullman says, "I haul grain and feed for house Redblade."
- Avrenka says to Pullman, "Hi."
- Pullman says, "I do the route from the Meadow Trail to the moonie guild."
- Eyst asks, "Have there been any new developments where sorcery and this wild magic business are concerned?"
- Pullman says, "Now my route takes me through the middens."
- Pullman says, "I thinks I seen something."
- Avrenka asks Pullman, "What have you seen?"
- Pullman says, "See I some times takes a lunch break in the middens."
- Pullman says, "Quiet cul de sack at the end of Urems Bane."
- Kethrai says, "Not the safest place to do that..."
- Pullman says, "Sonja too scared to check for me there."
- Pullman says, "But its a quiet spot."
- Pullman says, "Odd spot."
- Pullman says, "All sorts of distillery equipment there."
- Pullman asks, "Ever seen it?"
- Kethrai says, "Can't say I have."
- Pullman says, "Well once I got into a conversation with some folks workin there."
- Pullman says, "See this Wild one."
- Kethrai says to Truerot, "Sounds like a nasty cold..."
- Pullman says, "He used to do some work there."
- Pullman says, "Seems theres some sort of industry going on."
- Pullman says, "Folks called the Darkforge."
- Gragnel says to Nawain, "Great class, I'll be able to skip the altar cleaning today."
- Pullman says, "The other day I heard Jaelia saying stuff about them."
- Harsh quietly says, "Ooo."
- Pullman says, "Got me thinking aobut what they's up to."
- Jecala quietly says, "Sooo many clerics."
- Pullman says, "I think they maybe sucking up all the mana."
- Kethrai asks Jecala, "Kind of a miracle, eh?"
- Pullman says, "Trying to distill it."
- Pullman says, "Then one day I see truerot roaming around grunting."
- Pullman says, "Not quite himself."
- Avrenka says, "Jaelia mentioned Darkforge Institute once ... no idea what she was talking about though."
- You say, "Yeah, hm, never heard of it."
- Pullman says, "He used to just be some bum."
- Pullman says, "But now he seems like a certifiable nut job."
- Pullman says, "And goes into fits about em."
- Pullman says, "So I thinks they're using that magic they're sucking up to do some nefarious stuff."
- Pullman says, "So I think it might look into a bit further."
- Unaka quietly says to Truerot, "Truffenyi bless you."
- Kethrai asks Pullman, "Can you sense mana yourself? Did you sense anything strange there?"
- Avrenka asks, "Distillery in the Middens huh?"
- Pullman says, "I just pull grain."
- Gragnel says to Avrenka, "It tracks."
- Pullman says, "None of that finger wagglin myself."
- Saragos quietly says, "I can't do this."
- Saragos says, "Take care."
- Avrenka asks, "If I go now to check it out, will I find something?"
- Sulai says, "Waste of food."
- Gragnel says, "Poor guy. It's clear he misses Navesi."
- Xionara softly says to Sulai, "Cut some slack, wife is imprisoned.."
- Kethrai says, "I don't think missing her is all of it."
- Nawain says to Sulai, "There's more sandwiches where that comes from."
- Pullman says, "I'm willin to bet they've got somethin hidden there."
- Gragnel says to Kethrai, "Likely not, but I can see it has consumed him."
- Unaka slowly asks Pullman, "So uh... so I understand. This guy was okay before, and now he's not? And you think someone is doing it?"
- Eyst asks Pullman, "I'm having a bit of a hard time following. Are you accusing this fellow and some distillers of having something to do with the wild magic anomaly?"
- Kethrai says, "He seems to feel like it's his responsibility and his alone to get them back."
- Xionara softly asks Sulai, "Want bite of ham samich?"
- Sulai says, "Sure."
- Pullman says, "I don't think he was ever ok."
- Pullman says, "But he just used to be a bum."
- Sulai says to Xionara, "Thanks."
- Pullman says, "Now he's just down right incomprehensible."
- Avrenka asks Truerot, "Hello? Do you speak Common?"
- Avrenka says to Truerot, "Nod if you understand, shake if you don't."
- Gragnel says, "It's been so long since I've heard Gamgweth."
- Avrenka says, "Doesn't seem intelligible."
- Avrenka asks, "Any empaths wanna take a look at him?"
- Unaka says to Pullman, "I think it's good for you to care about this fellow, but I don't see how it has to do with the mana."
- Kethrai asks Truerot, "Would you mind that?"
- Kerennya asks, "At who, Truerot?"
- Sulai says, "At least fixing his head might actually accomplish something."
- Imroth asks Truerot, "You ok there?"
- Pullman says, "I just hope they not using it for rotten things."
- Kethrai says, "Nothing physically wrong. But I can't sense psychological hurts, only neurological."
- Avrenka says, "I'll uh ... take a quick look."
- Avrenka says, "Be right back."
- Kethrai says, "Frankly, he doesn't seem... that different from others I've seen in the Middens."
- Unaka thoughtfully says, "I have heard there's a lot happening out in the world. Bad stuff, real bad."
- Kethrai says, "It's a stressful place to live."
- Jecala quietly asks Truerot, "Have the gods taken your sanity?"
- Mewawl says, "Same with the folks living up near Dirge, quite mad they are."
- Jecala quietly says, "We're all a little mad."
- Nemy says to Unaka, "Sum good stuffs toos."
- Sulai says to Unaka, "Sure, just like always. All these terrible things, gotta take up everybody's attention. No time to deal with more boring, everyday issues."
- Gragnel says to himself, "Hmmm. Don't like the look of them clouds."
- Mewawl says, "He acts more like the Dirge folks than anything."
- Pullman says, "I'll let you know if I see anything new on my route."
- Unaka says, "Not enough, I think. Things are getting worse."
- You ask, "Did anyone else have something to bring up or debate or ask a question?"
- Gragnel says, "Whoa whoa. Some of my best friends are from Dirge. Rude."
- Casari says to you, "I have a question for Unaka. Kind of a curiosity."
- Mewawl says to Gragnel, "Call it like I see it."
- Kethrai says to Sulai, "Solving each person's individual problems won't mean much if the whole world is strangled to death in the meantime."
- Casari asks Unaka, "Some of the other folks claiming this and that about the situation have said the Heralds are way stronger than the Immortals. What would Truffenyi say about that?"
- Unaka says, "Twisting hurricanes of vines. Sudden freezings. Cracking of the earth. Villages struggling, suffering. The Merelew said there are riptides too."
- Avrenka asks Pullman, "Didn't find anything suspicious ... is the room I've moongated to what you were talking about?"
- Jecala quietly says, "Hmm. No curse."
- Kerennya asks Unaka, "Do you know of any specific places where those things are happening?"
- You peer through the black Moongate...
- [Middens, Urrem's Bane]
- Sinuous tendrils of dark shadow reach across the muck, pulling at the damp and splintered boards underfoot. Sheets of hammered tin and uneven scraps of wood held together with rusting nails and frayed bits of rope huddle together in the limited space, looking like card houses ready to blow over at the slightest breeze. A small rope bridge leads up to another ramshackle platform. You also see an unremarkable bothy, a grey fieldstone hut and a small fieldstone bothy.
- Obvious paths: northwest.
- Unaka says to Casari, "Good question. He didn't exactly say something like that to me, so I don't know what he thinks. But I could tell you what I think."
- Casari asks, "Sure, what do you think?"
- Unaka says to Kerennya, "Hang on, I like to go a bit slow. I'll get to you."
- Jecala quietly says, "He's nervous now."
- (*The following are highlights of the fighting*)
- Zfora reveals herself.
- Zfora gestures at Nawain.
- Writhing black and red particles form around Nawain and pierce her body!
- Nawain falters for a moment, but shows no lasting injury.
- Zfora points a twisted frozen-bone wand ensnaring a faceted Syrin's heart at Nawain.
- An acid-green bone wasp with an incarnadine stinger lands a brushing strike to Nawain's back.
- An arisen assassin zombie turns to face Nawain.
- An arisen dinnsehencha zombie shambles in with a groan.
- Unaka says, "Well. All the stuff I heard about the Heralds is that they are real powerful. Like, way beyond our --."
- * Imroth halts the bone wasp's attack with his small shield, harboring Nawain from danger!
- Nawain is lightly stunned!
- Unaka frowns.
- Imroth completely fails to hinder the attack!
- An arisen assassin zombie lands a light hit to Nawain's left arm.
- Imroth says, "Stop that."
- Unaka moves into position to block attacks against Nawain!
- Sofina reveals herself.
- Sofina gestures, drawing her hands out and back fluidly.
- Between Sofina's hands, ichorous yellow-black needles twist into existence, like suppurating wounds in the air. They are drawn into a circle facing Nawain.
- The dinnsehencha zombie closes to pole weapon range on Nawain.
- Unaka completely fails to hinder the attack!
- Imroth gestures at Sofina.
- Imroth stares intently at Sofina, stopping her in her tracks with his gaze.
- Unaka says, "Whoa, whoa. Let's stop the fighting."
- You hear the voice of Pullman exclaim, "IT's the darkforge!!!"
- You feel invisible blades slashing you as cuts and tears rip open all across your back, creating a thin red mist in the general vicinity.
- You are severely stunned!
- You hear the voice of Pullman say, "The Darkforge!!! They're after me."
- (*Both Nawain and Amailia are killed*)
- An arisen assassin zombie lands a light hit that skewers a perfect hole between the shoulder blades (Heart Burn!).
- The crossbow bolt lodges itself savagely into Nawain!
- * Nawain is slain before your eyes!
- A cacophonous keening wail erupting is the last thing you notice before a sharp pain through your back heralds you to oblivion.
- Your death cry echoes in your brain as it quickly dawns on you that you have just died! Already, you feel the tug of eternity upon your soul and you struggle to remain tied to this world.
- A chill takes the seat of your soul as your remaining spiritual strength bleeds away steadily. However, you are comforted that you have curried the favor of your god, which will greatly improve the course of your resurrection or reincarnation.
- Vaerek says, "'aw."
- Imroth says, "Gosh."
- You say, "Well. Our first.. encounters of the night. Consider my guarantee of an interesting night... granted."
- Xionara softly says, "Not. again."
- Unaka sternly says, "I said, STOP."
- Jecala quietly says, "Oh..."
- Sulai says, "Maybe if the bigwigs here in Zoluren would actually fix up the middens, you wouldn't have people there getting frustrated enough to do things like this."
- Unaka exclaims, "Begone!"
- Xionara softly says, "Zfora's zombie."
- Xionara softly says, "Would bet many plats on it."
- Unaka says, "Take it away, now."
- Pullman exclaims, "I'll keep quiet!"
- Imroth says, "Oh come now."
- Casari says, "Ouch."
- (*Fighting ends*)
- Imroth says, "Well that was something."
- Unaka sadly says to you, "I am sorry. I failed to protect you."
- Imroth says, "I apologize too."
- You say, "Its fine."
- Imroth says, "There were many targets."
- Jecala quietly says, "At least there's like 30 clerics here."
- Unaka says to Kethrai, "I am grateful."
- Vaerek asks, "You?"
- Kethrai says, "Pullman -- I don't think this was the Darkforge."
- Kethrai says, "Those are two necromancers that several of us are on... bad terms with."
- You say, "And thanks to all the Empaths who helped."
- Pullman says, "The Darkforge must of sent them to silence me."
- Imroth asks, "What is this Darkforge?"
- Pullman says, "I'm sorry. I should have kept quiet."
- Imroth says, "Sofina at least lives here in Zoluren."
- Unaka says to Pullman, "No. It is right of you to speak."
- Imroth says, "Not sure I have met Zfora."
- Severei says, "Tenemlor's curly whiskers..."
- Pullman says, "I just haul grain."
- Casari asks, "Oh, is that one of them?"
- Unaka asks Kethrai, "What are you doing?"
- Pullman dejectedly says, "I just haul grain."
- Kethrai says to Unaka, "It's one of the undead servants."
- Unaka says, "Ahhhh."
- Imroth exclaims, "Fruitless attack!"
- Nawain says, "They've been... Complicating things, up at the Tower. Or trying."
- Gragnel says to Nawain, "I got no problem admitting I'm a dang coward when it comes to that sort of stuff."
- Gragnel says to Nawain, "I ran to the temple."
- Unaka says, "So uh. I forgot what we were saying."
- Unaka says, "Someone had a question."
- Kethrai says, "Casari, I think."
- Kerennya says, "I did."
- Casari says to Unaka, "Uh. Well, anyway, I think I got the gist of what you were saying when that happened. Thanks for answering. Hey, if you get a chance to talk to Truffenyi and he seems in a good mood, I'd love to hear his mind on it."
- Kerennya says, "And Casari."
- You say to Nemy, "Sorry."
- Unaka says, "Oh right. I was saying that I think the Heralds are a lot more powerful than Immortals. They just don't seem to come around much. At least those are all the stories I've heard."
- Sulai says, "Nobody's going to have time to help you, grain guy. Too busy trying to figure out how to help people who got themselves stuck because they went poking at stuff they don't understand."
- Unaka asks Kerennya, "Oh yeah. You asked if I heard of somewhere specific?"
- Nemy says to you, "Is tay."
- Kerennya says to Unaka, "Yes. For the reported things going on."
- Casari says to Sulai, "That was kind of the reason for poking at it."
- Imroth says, "I must be off. Thank you for the food an company."
- Unaka says to Kerennya, "No place yet that I think you could find on a map. Not so easy. But I've heard about it a lot, and I started walking. I found a lot of the evidence myself."
- Avrenka asks Unaka, "Random question ... I once had a vision of a wooden box that turned into a smoothly interocked orb ... do you think that was about the Bulwark?"
- Kerennya says to Unaka, "What sorts of things have you seen? I've been socked away working to make a ton of remedies, so haven't been able to walk about."
- Unaka says, "I saw fields blighted. I saw vines that had torn down houses. I saw one place where everything looked like it had just snapped in two, only one piece was at a weird angle."
- Unaka says, "It's real bad stuff."
- Kerennya says to Saragos, "YOu missed the action."
- Unaka says to Avrenka, "Uh, it could be I suppose. I like to think of the Bulwark like a bait box myself."
- Kethrai says to Kerennya, "The night is yet young."
- Severei says, "Disrespectful necromantic filth."
- Unaka says, "Could maybe be thought of like an orb too? Not sure."
- Avrenka says to Unaka, "Here's the vision I had in it's entireity: After a moment, you smell pine and feel the need to wipe sawdust from your hands. A wooden box rests in your hands, as yet unpolished, but expertly assembled with precise dovetails. Opposing pine and oak make for a striking contrast, and the lid appears as a fractional gap interrupting the grain. Before your eyes, the box appears to shift, and is now a smoothly interlocked orb. As you blink, the vision fades, and the box disappears."
- Avrenka says to Unaka, "Does that description of that wooden box match what you think of the Bulwark? Or do you think it's something else."
- Unaka says, "I mean, Bulwark is like a box. That's a box you saw all right."
- (Avrenka bemusedly scratches the side of his face.)
- Kethrai says, "Unfortunately, lots of things are like boxes..."
- Casari says, "And some would say everything is a spider."
- Kethrai says to Casari, "Sometimes it feels that way."
- Avrenka says, "Imagine if there was a Plane of Spiders where everything was a spider."
- Casari says, "I have JUST the thing for that."
- Kethrai says to Avrenka, "I won't and you can't make me."
- Unaka says, "Sounds like a place where I'd do a lot of squishing."
- Nawain asks Unaka, "You said, a bit ago, that maybe instead of us being inside the Bulwark, protected from outside things. But then speculated that maybe we're on the outside, being protected from something inside. Care to elaborate?"
- Unaka slowly says, "Well, the way I see it, it's about the box part really. The walls. Not so much whether we're inside or out. That part I can't really tell."
- Avrenka says, "I thought the Bulwark was something more .. permeable than wooden walls though."
- Kethrai says, "At the Planar Observatory, in the same... axis?... as the Spiritual Plane, you can see a plane that's like a sphere blacker than night."
- Kethrai says, "It occasionally bulges out like something inside is pressing against it."
- Unaka says, "I don't know that I'd call it... permeable or not. Hmm."
- Avrenka says to Kethrai, "That sounds ominous."
- Unaka says, "I can say that maybe it's being kinda shaken right now. Vibrating."
- Kethrai says to Avrenka, "Feels it to look at it, yeah."
- Nemy asks, "Like a snowglobe?"
- Unaka says to Nemy, "Not sure what that is."
- Unaka says, "We don't have a lot of fancy things down in the Clan."
- You say, "Oof."
- Nawain says to Unaka, "Glass globe full of water and little floaty things like snowflakes. You shake it, and it's like it's snowing, inside the globe."
- Nemy says, "Is a glass globe on a wood base dat ya shake, dey has em at fests sumtimes."
- Avrenka asks, "Vibrating ... like ... resonating?"
- Saragos says, "Apologies."
- Unaka says, "Oh uh. Maybe it's like that. Sturdier probably."
- Nawain says, "We can hope."
- Unaka says, "But yeah, feels like it's kinda vibrating. Not broken, not related to this magic stuff. But shaking a bit."
- Unaka asks, "Anyway. I heard this picnic is about the wild magic stuff? I was curious, what do you all think is going on?"
- Nawain says to Unaka, "I don't think we've ever heard of it doing that before. But I'm not sure we've been paying enough attention."
- Avrenka asks, "Vibrating or shaking ... at a steady pace, or a variable pace? An increasing pace?"
- Unaka says to Avrenka, "Think I'd have to do more research on that to find out."
- Casari says, "Best guess at this point is that the Heralds are up to no good. Not a clue why, though."
- Nemy says to Unaka, "Magics gone wild."
- You say, "Also, I'd like to hear opinions on sorcery vs no sorcery. Curious about that."
- Unaka asks, "So you really think they're back, huh?"
- Kethrai says, "I think Valenal is probably right about something stealing energy for their own purpose, but I'm not convinced he's right about who's doing it."
- Gragnel says, "Now, maybe it's just me, but things seemed to get better when we was praying to the Immortals to help. Once people started poking at the wild stuff, it started poking back."
- Casari says, "If they're back, then where did they go? I assumed they were around."
- Avrenka says, "Every extraplanar being thinks it's the Heralds."
- Sulai says, "Well, you all have fun debating magic stuff with your heads in the clouds, ignoring the problems at your feet. Keep letting dysfunctional governments mess things up, and we're all going to have bigger problems than getting randomly pushed around."
- Severei says, "I just have to wonder what we're supposed to do about some entity we can't see or know."
- Kethrai asks, "If they can rewrite reality, why would they need to steal magical energy? If they kidnapped our people, why is the jail made of mana streams, like a spell pattern?"
- Severei says, "Everything is always more questions leading to more questions."
- You quietly say, "Another anti-government guy... hm."
- Casari says, "Wish I could perceive the prison somehow. Send a naga after it. Maybe it's hidden the same way they're hidden most of the time."
- Kethrai says to Casari, "Could be... It does feel that way a bit."
- Avrenka says, "Valenal proposed the prison was in an alternate timeline ... in 5th dimensional space."
- Kethrai says, "Like they're right next door."
- Kethrai says, "I'm not sure I believe that."
- Nawain says, "I have a theory."
- Kethrai says, "Time magic is feral magic. There was no holy mana."
- Avrenka says, "That's true."
- Nawain says, "I think that somehow, magic itself is sending voices to help us understand and communicate about what's gone wrong. Yourself included, Unaka. Holy mana comes from the divine itself, so it makes sense that an Immortal sent you directly."
- Nawain says, "We've met Valenal and Liraxes, who seem to represent the elements and lunar power. I don't know that we've seen a representative of Life magic quite yet."
- Nawain says, "And we might not."
- Unaka slowly asks, "You think I'm... magic?"
- Avrenka says, "Would be nice if we could ask the Immortals directly if they think it's the Heralds or not ... would make it more clear."
- Nawain says to Unaka, "No, I think you are a voice of magic. A representative, a conduit."
- Jecala quietly says, "Not magic so much as an avatar."
- Nawain says to Unaka, "A way for magic to speak with us."
- Avrenka says to Nawain, "Well there was Elanthia's vision last night."
- Nawain says, "Holy magic, anyways."
- Unaka says, "Well. I'm definitely a voice of Truffenyi. He kinda told me that."
- Nawain says, "I would expect nothing less as a voice of holy mana."
- Avrenka asks Unaka, "Can you ask Truffenyi if he thinks the Heralds are behind all this?"
- Kethrai says, "Well... hrm. Holy mana is personified in the Immortals. Lunar in the beings from the Plane of Probability, and Elemental in... elementals."
- Unaka says, "It doesn't work like that. I can pray. But it's more like he's suddenly there only there's a thousand of him and I can't think straight."
- Gragnel says to Nawain, "I was praying to Damaris that this was all a dream. It is not."
- Avrenka says, "Mm."
- Nawain asks Kethrai, "Where does Life magic come from?"
- Jecala quietly asks, "So would Life just be...everything else?"
- Kethrai says to Nawain, "From the processes of life and death itself."
- Casari says, "Oh, I know that one. It comes from death."
- Unaka says, "Does seem like a lot of folks are saying different things, at least."
- Kethrai says, "Anyway, after what Valenal said the other day, I'm even more convinced sorcery isn't the answer..."
- Severei says to Unaka, "Vexing contradictory things."
- Gragnel says, "Seems like everyone is saying "Wasn't us."
- Unaka says, "What do you all think we should do? I'm here to help."
- Kethrai says, "I was already leery of that, since the wild magic itself smells more like sorcery than not-sorcery. But then he said the elementals want us to do more sorcery to make our plane more... porous. Give them more access."
- Avrenka says, "Need the Immortals thoughts on the Heralds ... need to try to see who's "stealing mana" ... need to figure out how to reach our friends from Arhat's tower, as it seems they are there but not there."
- Kethrai says, "The natural porosity he talked about, like if you light a fire, or when rock erodes away... Those would be making a connection a specific Elemental plane."
- Casari says, "My priority is breaking our people out of that prison. Happy to work on the other problem when I don't have a way to deal with that one, but it's all secondary."
- Kethrai says, "But sorcery might thin the plane everywhere. Not just to the Elemental planes, but to the Void."
- Unaka says to Avrenka, "One thing I can say. Truffenyi did say something about not trusting everyone who claims to have wisdom."
- Avrenka says, "Maybe cuz I'm a moon mage, but it's hard for me to trust Liraxes."
- You ask, "So we could be giving access to all planes by using sorcery?"
- Severei says, "Personally, I don't trust that guy who says he's a scholar."
- Eyst says, "Personally, I'm interested in what the Liraxes thing will have to say. It seems to be going about it in a rather methodical and straightforward manner."
- Kethrai says to you, "That's certainly been true of some kinds of sorcery in the past. Necromancy, the Voidspell."
- Kerennya says to Eyst, "I can appreciate that much, at least, even if I'm not totally certain of Liraxes' motives."
- Unaka slowly asks, "So, seems like we're not ready to act yet, that right?"
- (Nawain fidgets and chews on her lip.)
- Kethrai says, "Valenal also agreed that we can't solve the problem through more sorcery, we'd just be delaying the inevitable. We need to find whoever is stealing the magical energy and stop them."
- Unaka asks, "How do we do that?"
- Kethrai says to Unaka, "Wish I knew."
- Kethrai says, "He did say something like, we might be able to see the process happening more clearly from outside Abiding. In Zengmodaleth maybe."
- Nawain says, "I'm not sure we have enough insight into mana to track it. We have lots of ways to fiddle with it, but I'm not sure we could follow along a mana stream to see where it was being siphoned from or to."
- Avrenka says, "Or Planar Observatory."
- Kethrai says, "If we could see where the energy is going TO, would be a useful clue."
- Unaka says, "Well. Truffenyi wants us to do something. I think we're in trouble if we don't. And he wants us to survive."
- Jecala quietly says, "If only there was a way we could focus on them the way we find a spirit in the void."
- You say, "I already failed that tonight."
- Eyst says to Nawain, "I've heard of some efforts into such things, and they did prove for naught."
- Avrenka says, "Perhaps we should schedule an excursion to Zengmodaleth."
- Kethrai says, "Actually... hrm."
- Kethrai says, "No, Zengmodaleth might be perfect."
- Casari says, "That was one of the first things we tried."
- Unaka says, "Oh, I think he's got an idea."
- Avrenka says, "More accessable than the Planar Observatory, that's for sure."
- Kethrai says, "Cause, see... there's basically no Life mana there at all."
- Kethrai says, "It might be like seeing a candle flame from a mile away, if it's dark enough outside."
- Kethrai says, "And, if we get some Life mana users to cast spells from nearby, but in Abiding, say right there on the Handsome Plateau..."
- Unaka says, "Okay. I need to get back and start praying. Tell me again the stuff you want to know from Truffenyi? I can't promise he'll say anything but I might as well ask."
- Xionara softly asks, "Handsome plateau?"
- Kethrai says to Xionara, "The spot where the portal to Zengmodaleth is. Dunno why it's called that. It's not that good-looking."
- Nawain says to Unaka, "Thank you for coming. Enelne's blessings."
- Gragnel says to Nawain, "For those wonderful herbs you've been making for charity."
- Xionara softly says to Kethrai, "Oh, that's what plateau name is? hrm."
- Jecala quietly says, "I think it's an old definition of 'handsome'..."
- Unaka asks, "Someone wanted me to ask him something, right?"
- Avrenka asks Unaka, "My question for Truffenyi would be ... Are the Heralds behind the abduction of our friends? Are they behind the "stealing of energy" that occurs with each spellcast?"
- You say to Unaka, "Yes, thanks for coming. And thanks for trying to help out as well."
- Casari asks, "And could the Immortals stop the Heralds if that's what needed to happen?"
- Avrenka asks Kethrai, "Can we set up a meeting time for this Zengmodaleth excursion a week from now?"
- Unaka quietly says to Casari, "Good question."
- Kethrai says to Avrenka, "I can try to get that on the calendar, yeah."
- Unaka says, "I never thought of Truffenyi being powerless before, but I've never seen a Herald acting before either."
- Avrenka asks Kethrai, "You wanna take the lead on that?"
- Unaka says, "If nothing else though, he'll fight for us. And I will."
- Avrenka says, "Great."
- Unaka says, "Okay. I'll pray. Good night."
- Kethrai says to Unaka, "Thank you, for your help."
- Avrenka says to Unaka, "Good night. GOod to see you again."
- You ask, "Did anyone else want to bring anything up?"
- Avrenka says to Kethrai, "Hopefully we can see for ourselves who's behind all this, rather than taking someone else at their word."
- Nawain casually asks, "Anyone know where Sofina lives?"
- Casari says to you, "Thanks for hosting. Sorry it got so messy."
- (Nawain strokes her whip.)
- You ask, "Erm um. Anyone else?"
- Severei says, "I don't know, but I saw her up north once."
- Kerennya says to you, "Yes, thanks for hosting."
- Kethrai says, "Last I saw, she hunts wyverns."
- Malorna asks, "What i miss?"
- Jecala quietly says, "Everything."
- Jecala quietly says, "We had someone freak out, we had necros attack, we had Unaka here."
- Nawain says to you, "Thank you for hosting this discussion. Even if it brought the undesirables out."
- You exclaim, "I got stabbed!"
- Malorna says, "Ok ok who freaked out."
- Kethrai says to Nawain, "Doing the right thing often does."
- Jecala quietly asks, "Someone called... um ...what was it, Rotface?"
- Nawain says, "Truerot."
- Jecala quietly exclaims, "Aha!"
- Malorna says, "And i can guess at least one of the necros with nawain asking where sof lives heh."
- You say, "In that case, thanks for coming out everyone. This event was sponsored by yours truly, ENN, the Elanthia News Network. We're on the gweth... some of the time."
- You smile.
